It changed from the carpet setting to hardwood floor with ease. It also has a suction control button. The attachment for our stairs (we have a three storey house) is fantastic. I've had a number of popcorn poppers 'cause I'm a true fan, whether unadorned popcorn or 'fancied up'. When the hot air poppers came out about 20 years ago I bought a couple of them, but they always seem to make chewy popcorn that'll stick in the back of your throat. I've got a mint-condition Mirro aluminum electric popper from the sixties and it'll burn corn in the bottom before you can turn around. West Bend used to make this same type popper but without the stirrer. I had that one also, and it still left a fair number of kernels at the bottom. The stirring rod is what makes the difference with this popper. Not only will it pop more kernels in ANY brand of popcorn, but it will pop far more with the less expensive brands like Jolly Time. It's typical to get no more than a tablespoon or less of unpopped kernels. The popcorn turns out perfectly done, from the earliest to the last popped. If you look at the photo, the disc on the top is a removable cover; under there is an indention with multiple holes. You can take butter or margarine and spread it around when you set the machine up. Then, as the machine starts popping, the steam melts the butter and it goes on the corn! Or, if you prefer buttering later, just leave the lid on. When the corn is popped, you simply flip the appliance over and the large dome becomes the serving bowl. The dome and the disc on top have been through my dishwasher dozens of times without any problem. If I hand-wash it, it always feels a little greasy. The bottom, heating part of the appliance is nonstick; you simply wipe it out with a soapy dishrag or paper towel. Couldn't be easier. This appliance is light in weight and fits fine in one of my overhead cabinets. For only a small amount of oil, it'll make six quarts of the best popcorn you can find! Plus, its tolerance to less-expensive non-gourmet corns means you'll spend less money. Highly recommended!
It's gone in & out of fashion in my family over the years, but we still can't find anything that does a better job, short of a commercial popper. So many people out there are interested in faster, unattended popping. Part of the fun IS taking the time to relax and enjoy watching the Stir Crazy perform! How many kids will have fond memories of sitting in front of the microwave and watching a bag? Think about it! I'll continue to use ours until it's life is over. I am also going to order a replacement, just in case it is no longer available for some reason in the future. Buy it, Pop it, enjoy the show! You won't be sorry!

Amazon.com Review Based on designs from Lenox artist Louise de Luyer, Butterfly Meadow's dinnerware set mixes and matches a variety of meadow scenes, each featuring a species of butterfly with a different bloom. Among the pictured butterfly varieties, there are colorful Swallowtails, Monarchs, Eastern-Tailed Blues, Orange Sulphers, and even a dragonfly here and there. Avid gardeners will also be able to spot favorite flowers, which range from morning glories to lilacs to tiger lilies. Each scene is a bit different from the next, adding to the charm of this country-style dinnerware. Graceful scalloped and ridged edges on plates and mugs lend an additional feeling of innocence to this pattern. This dinnerware set matches other crystal, flatware, and serving pieces in fine china and sculpted metal within Lenox's Butterfly Meadow collection. --Cristina Vaamonde What's in the Box Features Reviews (1)

My only complaint is that the cord is very short, but everything else is great.
Oh, well, in all fairness I guess I should mention some things the Rival is equiped to do that the West Bend is not: 1) the Rival pot can break if you drop it or subject it to sudden significant temperature change. 2) The Rival handles on the heating base can crack and eventually crumble into small pieces. (Mine did.) 3) Since it weighs so much, the Rival can probably get you into pretty good shape if you lift it enough times. (I use hand weights myself.) I mention these things just in case someone is looking to pay money for this sort of thing. (Well, you never know!) However, in my opinion these are not desireable features in a slow cooker so it's just as well the West Bend doesn't have them. : ) I hope this information helps you make a good decision!

I read in a review for this product that it doesn't last. What could possibly be wrong with this when you need to chop something really fast? Like any normal person, I use the device, clean it and put it away. Simple as that! You can even go as far as using it and putting it back in the box. That is what I did up til the time the wall mount was set up. Now I can watch my weight, drink homemade milkshakes, and chop away at those tear jerking onions without shedding a single tear. Watch out for how much pressure you apply to the speed accelerator button, because you may find your cake mix blending in pretty well with the paint on your wall. In that case, avoid using a shallow bowl. Use a deeper mixing bowl, bigger than the size recommended for your ingredients. Happy cooking! Hope my review helped you.
Since the blades are exposed, any pressing of the button will chop anything in its path, and that includes fingers. Now, with the new model, it can stay pluged in and safe, since it stays detached until use (at least in my case). Of course, none of this speaks to this thing being much easier to clean than the previous one. I detach after use, run under hot water, then place on a paper towel to dry. If I'm in a hurry, I just drop in a water-filled glass in the sink and deal with it later. It doesn't stain, even with blueberries, so there isn't a need to deal with it immediately. However, I would not recommend putting this in the dishwasher. There's no need to and the prolonged heat might damage it. That's just my suspicion. At any rate, cleaning the old one required attention to it immediately after use. Anyway, I use this thing almost daily for protein shakes (smoothies). I'm considering a smoothie maker since I want something to make in the morning and have made for several more shakes during the day. However, even with a smoothie maker, I'll still use this Braun blender on stuff that would create a mess in the smoothie machine. For example, one shake I make with protein powder, milk, a few small ice cubes and peanut butter. I swear that tastes just like a melted Blizzard from Dairy Queen, for those of you that have had them. You would NOT want to make anything with Peanut butter in a smoothie maker or blender. With the Braun, its a snap!
So I called Braun. I admit I was hoping they would offer to give me a replacement motor unit. Nope. I asked about repair, but apparently, nobody fixes things anymore. Nor do they offer recycling. What they do offer is a heavy pitch to buy a whole new Braun blender set, even if all the attachments for your old one is perfectly fine. I had to argue with them for 15 minutes before they decided that they would just let me buy a new motor unit off of them for $20. A week later I got a box from Braun with... a whole new set of attachments. Not the motor unit. Needless to say, I'm never buying another Braun product again. If somebody wants the used attachments (whisk, chopper, blender, smoothie container), they're yours.

Pros: Cons: So as a second clock and something neat to have, this is fine. Don't get it as your primary alarm clock if you want to make it to work on time and not get fired :-)
Another feature of this clock that is ideal for her is that the regular display is only lit when you want it to be lit. There are no glaring red numbers staring at you all night. When you want to see the time/temp, press the snooze button and the display lights for a few seconds. Now for the negatives of this great little gadget. It is very lightweight and the buttons sit smoothly at the bottom of the clock. It is difficult to tell one button from another or to even push the buttons to set the alarm, view, etc. Raised braille like nobs on the buttons would be helpful as well as making the base wider so it would be more difficult to knock it over. Also, if the clock is running off battery, you have the option of displaying the time on the ceiling only when you press the snooze button. However, if you use the A/C adapter, you're choices are continuous display or no display. The slide switch that controls this is on the side of the clock and is difficult to find by feel. Despite the few shortcomings of this clock, I still think it's wonderful and recommend it to anyone who is tired of squinting at glowing red dots to see what time it is; who wants to know the temperature both inside and out; and who always wants the correct time. ... Amazon.com Review This nine-piece set of Stainless cookware consists of a 10-inch fry pan with a layer of scratch-resistant, professional-grade nonstick coating bonded to the interior steel layer; a 2-quart covered saucepan; a 3-quart covered saucepan; a 3-quart covered sauté pan; and a 6-quart covered stockpot. Polished 18/10 stainless-steel pan and lid handles are riveted for strength and grooved on the top for comfort. Both the lids' handles and the pans' long handles (holed for hanging on hooks or pegs) stay cool on the stovetop but won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat, although the nonstick pan should not be in an oven hotter than 400 degrees F. This Stainless cookware is dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is recommended, and it's essential for the nonstick pan.--Fred Brack What's in the Box From the Manufacturer Features and Benefits Warranty Cleaning Instructions All-Clad Stainless Selection About All-Clad Metalcrafters Features Reviews (2)

Medium roast is apt to be a particular favorite for American coffee tastes. It has a rich, full-bodied flavor, neither bitter nor astringent. The Senseo coffee machine can make 1 4 oz cup, 2 4 oz cups, or a single 8 oz cup at a time. The self-contained pods use a tea bag filter-type paper and are approximately 2" in diameter. Right now, the price averages 25 cents per 4 ounce cup. The Senseo makes it with a bit of frothe on the top, and this medium roast coffee is fine straight up, or try it with a little sweetner and a dollop of Hazelnut creamer as I do. I do envision the price point coming down a bit, as the Senseo system becomes the US equivalent of the European sensation. Douwe Egberts recommends using your pods within 2 weeks, however, I've had good luck storing the extras in the freezer section of my refrigerator with no dicernable flavor change. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review Meats and fish are the obvious choices to take advantage of the Grilling Machine's fat-reduced grilling, but vegetables and tofu dogs work well too. The double-sided grill means food cooks twice as fast, leaves attractive grill marks, and generates surprisingly little smoke. --Julija Gelazis Features Reviews (353)
I'm out of college now, and I bought the bigger version of the George Foreman grill! It's GREAT about cutting the fat, as most of the grease drains off in to an easy to clean plastic container. The plastic container can go in the dishwasher, and the grill itself has a really good nonstick surface which cleans easily with a damp sponge or rag. It also cooks pretty fast, quicker than a conventional grill I think. I cook a few chicken breasts on it in about 10-15 minutes (depending on how big they are), and it heats up super fast - so no worrying about charcoal and starting fires! It's insanely easy to use, teenagers and slightly younger kids could probably use it with no problem. I highly recommend this grill - it's worth every cent!

*The collection included in this set is comprehensive and sufficient, especially the fact that it includes the steak knives and a scissors. I am very happy with this set, although I do wish the block had a few more slots. It only fits the knives in the main collection plus three steak knives. They are quite heavy, so do take care when wielding one. Nonetheless, good price, good quality, and great looks!

Amazon.com Review Measuring 13-1/2 by 12 by 8-1/2 inches, the coffee maker is shaped like a curved cylinder with a round base. Two pod holders are included: a shallow holder that holds one coffee pod for one cup, and a deeper filter that holds two pods for two cups (or one 8-ounce mug). After filling the removable reservoir with fresh water to the max line, the pods are inserted and the lid locked into place. A simple push of the on/off button and either of the one or two cup buttons starts the brewing process. Up to five 4-ounce cups can be brewed on one reservoir of water. Cups are not included, but almost any 4-ounce cup or 8-ounce mug will do the trick. All the removable parts--the pod holders, reservoir, coffee spout, plastic drip tray, and metal cup tray--are dishwasher-safe. A variety of coffee pods are available separately. This coffee machine is unusable at altitudes over 6800 feet. The Senseo coffee maker is covered by a two-year warranty against defects and measures 13-1/2 by 12 by 8-1/2 inches. --Ann Bieri Features Reviews (43)
1) Good coffee. I am particular about coffee and when I read so many people complaining about the taste of the coffee I made sure I could return the unit if the coffee was as bad as some people claimed. It was not. The crema on top and the freshness of the coffee are great. If the best coffee house coffee is an "A", then this creates "B+" coffee. 2) Could not be easier to use or clean. I have had several people's jaws drop as they push the button and find themselves drinking great coffee just 25 seconds later. Clean up involves rinsing off a couple of parts that are easily detached. 3) Freshness, not quantity. I used to drink 12-16 ounces of coffee in the morning. Now I drink 4 ounces first thing in the morning, another 4 ounces a little later and perhaps another 4 ounces in the afternoon. Since it is so easy to make a fresh cup anytime I want one, I prefer this schedule to a big cup in the morning. The Senseo can brew 8 ounces at a time, but a rich 4 ounce cup is surprisingly satisfying. 4) To each his own: Just this evening two people at my dinner party wanted decaf while another wanted dark roast and the fourth wanted light roast. With the Senseo, these individual orders were a snap. 5) Good coffee with more options on the horizon: The Douwe Egberts brand is fine but as this coffee machine gains popularity, alternatives will emerge. Most families within the larger extended family have their own ice cream maker. And all of them own and swear by these White Mountain Electric models. They have owned and used them for many years, having previously burned out many other brands before finding this brand that just keeps going forever. They even own multiple ice cream barrels so they can make multiple flavors using one bucket/motor set. (a good idea actually) Now that I have my own home, I need an ice cream maker of my own and this will be the model. After all, I would be teased, mocked, and generally looked down upon if I bought anything else. Because the experts (my relatives) know that this is the best.
Inside the container where the mixture is poured, there is a beater which stirs it as it freezes. The sides of this beater are thin wooden slats connected onto the cast metal beater by a few, cheap metal screws. These screws get wiggled back and forth while the container spins around in the ice. When it finished I was scooping out the ice cream and I found black streaks in it. You had to look closely but they were there. I don't like the idea of aluminum. This was a very cheap and not well thought out way of connecting the wood to the metal. Poor workmanship. Not recommended. ... Read more

However, the temperature from top to bottom vaires by 8-10 degrees. Not a problem--according to Wine Spectator, 50-60 degree range is acceptable for storing red wines (in my case vintage ports). A slightly higher or lower temperature just means the wine matures faster or slower (but don't get too far out of this range, which the Haier can prevent). I have 4 thermometers in mine, spread from top to bottom. The top varies from 59-62 and the bottom 51-53. The other two thermometers show the middle region maintaining a temperature of 53-57 degrees. The bottles I plan to drink within 10-15 years of the vintage year are on the top two shelves, the rest lower. NOTE: This unit should not be used in an area where the temperature may excede 80F. It will still cool, but not as well and will run more frequently. BOTTOM LINE: I will probably by another unit of this model or a larger Haier when my collection grows enough to need it.
If you are on a budget, have limited space or are just looking for a basic temp-controlled, convenient place to keep your best wines, you can't go wrong with this. I haven't seen other 60-btl. chillers in this price range. If you're thinking about getting a smaller model, consider upgrading to this 60-bottle unit. Your wines will add up quickly and, for the slightly extra cost and height, you'll be glad you have the storage available. My friends thought it was too much for me to get a 60-btl chiller (and I live in FL where temp control IS NEEDED), but they've come around as the cooler's become fuller. And a couple of wine novices are now interested in getting a cellar for their homes. It should be said -- as one of the reviewers below noted -- the compressor is not silent. You'll hear it kicking in. So don't get this one if you are looking for a quiet deluxe chiller. Last note: kudos to Amazon for including this item with my Free SuperSavers shipping options! PROS: - Coffee taste is INCREDIBLE! Unmatched by any home machine I know of. - Coffee is brewed hot. That is a fact. Do not let bad reviews about temp scare you. This machine brews hot. - Coffee remains hot. Again, don't be scared. I don't pre-heat the carafe. The hot water heats it fast and since steel is a conductor, the carafe warms quickly. FWIW, I dumped a couple cups this morning after they sat all night. I kid you not when I say if you take it black, the temperature was still passable. - The keypad is easy to use and understand. The cord compartment is very handy. CONS: - The carafe is TERRIBLY designed in the way it receives the brew. YES, YOU WILL HAVE COFFEE POUR ALL OVER YOUR KITCHEN IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL! The entry hole is too small. You can set the carafe in place and it will still overflow. It needs to be set PERFECTLY. The lips should be bigger by about 1/4" to prevent spillage. In fact, I feel this lid should be recalled. It is that bad. Exercise caution and you will be fine, but always be aware. Sometimes the ball sticks so even if it is lined up perfectly, it will still overflow. Make sure the green ball is moving before putting the lid on the pot. Use the tip of a knife to jar it loose if it is stuck. - The lack of a removable water resovoir is inexcusable at this level. The machine is a little on the heavy side and doesn't slide easily, plus you hide the cord. A removable water resovoir would have been great. - The carafe does pour slow. Make sure the dot is over the spout for best performance. Turning it past the spout only slows it further, it doesn't make the opening bigger! If it gets annoying, remove the lid, pour normal, then replace the lid. This review may sound negative, but it isn't. Again, the coffee quality is unmatched. However, you do need to put up with mind-bogglingly dumb engineering and tiny quirks. But, like that lawnmower that only you know how to start, this is a machine you'll grow to love as you figure out how to control it.
I have had the Capresso 440 for six months, so I feel I can comment now... and I am very impressed! It prepares excellent coffee, in large or small batches (there is a selector switch), has a permanent goldtone filter (you can buy paper filters -preferably unbleached - if you prefer,) coffee comes out above 165 F / 74C, and it stays warm at least a couple of hours; the coffee-maker is easy to program, set up and clean. It even looks good, though my prime criterion is always the quality of the coffee produced. One small thing I improved on was the small black dot on the top of the black lid used to open / close the opening to the spout - I used a dot of yellow acrylic paint to make it more visible, and it makes a significant difference. Two things I think could be improved on - the fill indicator float-ball-in-column is on the right side, ecessed, and the design of the machine makes it a bit difficult to see in the darkish corner of my kitchen counter; and of course, a lower price would please everyone. These are relatively minor - the Capresso, made by a company that makes upper end machines for professional baristas, is a high-quality coffee-making machine that's sure to please aficionados of good coffees. If you can't program your VCR or radio-alarm, demand piping hot coffee that blisters the mouth, or prepare cheaper Robusta coffees like Farmer Bros., forget this machine - save your money and get a Mr. Coffee. If you prefer espresso types, Capresso makes machines that do that, you won't be satsified here. To each, according their own taste... But if you enjoy fine Arabicas properly prepared, without the unhealthy effects of plunge / press makers, and a machine that is easy to use and seems substantial enough to last, I think you will be very happy with the Capresso.
Four hours after brewing, the coffee was still hot and ready to drink. I closed the pouring spout, and perhaps having it open would cause the coffee to cool more quickly. No complaints here. I've made several dozen cups and have yet to have a drop drizzle outside the carafe while brewing. I'm not being extra careful when I place the carafe either. If you hang it off the side of the base, I imagine it would spill, but then anything that doesn't have the wide open mouth would. As for the taste - using freshly ground beans - my wife thinks I've found the "secret" to making great coffee. (I don't drink it myself) And she's very picky about her coffee. The taste was as good whether I was making 5 cups or 10. Cleanup is a snap and there are little things that make it better - the top to the filter box stays in place, even if you only raise it part way.
