This appealing blender looks great, with a rounded triangularshape that marries form and function. It pours perfectly and cleansbeautifully, but what we noticed first was the terrific grip on thehandle: firm and comfortable, like a great handshake. The lid is alsowell designed, sealing easily and snugly, with tiny rubber tipsattached on three sides to facilitate a smooth release and opening. This blender packs a lot of power, puréeing in seconds andturning eggs and oil into mayonnaise in fewer than two minutes. Fivespeeds let you whip up everything from chunky salsa to velvety soups;there's also a pulse mode when you need an extra surge to add solids orgive something one last stir. As a bonus, this blender looks great onthe counter or stores easily in two parts in the cupboard. --C.Whitney-Ward

Editor's Choice:Braun's PowerMax blender is an ideal firstblender--not too expensive and still heavy-duty enough for manyblending tasks--and is our pick for best blender under $50. It has fivespeed settings and a pulse feature. The blades are made of stainlesssteel, which makes them strong enough to crush ice (don't pack the icetoo tight, though), and they remove easily for cleaning. The blades, jug, and lid go in the dishwasher, while you wipe the base by hand witha damp towel. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Rated the Number One Blender by Consumer Reports
I bought this blender because of the review it got in Consumers Reports Magazine, an unbiased point of view. We use it everyday to make smoothies and baby food and couldn't be happier with the product. I received the product without the lid when I ordered from Amazon so I contacted Braun as Amazon suggested and the lid was delivered that week.

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent blender
I know there are others out there like me: when I want to buy something, I want to buy the best. Naturally, I go for the top of the line. That usually means paying more for better quality. My reasoning is to spend a little more and I won't have to buy another one for years to come.

I'd been meaning to buy a blender for sometime now. After some hunting through the most well-known "consumer reporting" magazine, I discovered that this $50 blender, mixed, chopped and crushed ice better than models that were EIGHT times as much. This model is the best I've ever used.

Ice crushing was the key factor in the purchase. This baby crushes it in a few quick pulses. Frozen drinks are ready in less than 30 seconds. I use mine for protein shakes and it's a snap to clean. The key is cleaning it immediately.

I must stress that you can't find a better value for your money. This blender is amazing!

1-0 out of 5 stars So many problems!!!!
I know I can always rely on Amazon reviews to be correct and concise. I wish i'd read reviews on this blender before we bought it at Sam's club. Within weeks of buying the blender all the plastic pieces broke off! There was much blame going on in my I see that quite a few people who bought the Power Max had the SAME exact problem!!!! I called Braun today and I expect to receive my free replacement part within 2 weeks. I hope that the blender works though I have my doubts. I will think twice before buying another Braun product!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Customer Service?
I do not own this blender.

A few weeks ago, I sent an email to Braun asking if the blade gear teeth issue had been remedied, as I was interested in the blender only if so. I forgot about it, not receiving a reply. Today a box is on my doorstep, and what is inside? A blade assembly! To a blender I do not own! lol

Still no answer to my email.

2-0 out of 5 stars Excellent blender... for 4 months ONLY
I can't deny that the blender was very good WHILE IT WORKED. However, after 4 months using it the motor burned!! Smoke came from the bottom of the blender. I send it straight to the trash. Not recommended. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Braun Electric Kettle
We were recently in England and saw friends using an electric tea kettle that was different than any we had ever seen in the U.S. I had to have one. When we got home I found this lovely Braun electric kettle and purchased it immediately. It does all we expected. It has a large capacity so you don't have to refill it constantly. It boils very, very quickly and shuts off so I don't have to watch it. I love being able to take it to the sink to fill it without dragging the cord. It's very easy to clean because it detaches from the base. I like the large handle grip and the water window on both sides. We use it for everything instant including soup. How did we get along without it?

5-0 out of 5 stars Clean Design, Very Functional
I got this after destroying a ... Alessi kettly by accidentally letting it boil dry until the plastic parts melted...

I was about to spring for one of the Zojirushi megabuck dispensers, when I spotted this unit. I have always liked Braun (more consistently good than Krups or Cuisinart) for their design and ergonomics. This pot doesn't fail to impress. This baby is FAST; It boils water at 1 minute per 8-oz cup (or faster, if you start with hot tap water). For a single cup of tea, this is about as fast as you can select a teabag and prepare the cup! BTW, this actually holds 7 cups, not 6 as described.

The design is very nice and clean-looking. The base is especially well-designed, since you can put the pot on rotated in whatever way is convenient. This is apparently a big win over the Krups kettle. The "mineral filter seems like overkill, but it does prevent splashing of the boiling water, and causes pouring to be very smooth. Cleanup is brain-dead simple (pour out the excess water after use, and flip the top open to allow evaporation). Pot itself does not get too hot to touch, and the handle stays completely cool. Automatic-off features work under all sensible scenarios: when it reaches full boil, when the top is opened for any reason, when lifted off the base, or when the pot is empty.

As for the Zojirushi dispensers? They may be useful if you want a lot of water (up to 5 liters for the big ones) held at a controlled temperature. But for most home uses, this need is rare, and otherwise deosn't justify the ... price tag.

For me, the Braun is one of those are kitchen appliances that took a while to see the need for, but now I couldn't live without. A real time and hassle saver!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply a better kettle
Not only does this improve upon the standard stove-based kettle, but it improves upon the previous generation of fixed-cord electric kettles.

The separation of kettle and corded base allows the former to be taken to the sink (or refrigerator if you're boiling pitcher-filtered water) without bother. It makes pouring at the table or in another room easy, as well. The cord can be wound inside the base so that only the needed length is exposed - neatening your countertop. The base has a "360-degree rotational connection," which means that you don't have to align the kettle in any particular way when replacing it. No buttons to press, no connector to snap.

The handle and kettle shell stay cool, obviating the need for a hot pad when picking it up, and the single control is as simple as can be: press it to start and it turns itself off when the water boils. If you forget about it, you needn't worry about boiling away all the water and leaving yourself with a burnt pot. (It will also turn off automatically if the pot is empty, the lid is opened, or the pot is removed from the base!)

The anti-calcification filter reduces scaling and thus the need to run a vinegar solution to clean out the buildup (something most people never do with their stove-based kettles). The design allows you to easily see the entire inside of the kettle, so you can keep an eye on things.

For those who regular drink tea or other beverages made with stove-boiled water, an electric kettle is a real convenience. This Braun kettle is about as convenient as they come.

1-0 out of 5 stars short and not so sweet!

5-0 out of 5 stars Just About Perfect
We got this as a summer substitute for the Zojirushi hot pot that keeps boiling water always available, because our airconditioner didn't appreciate the constant heat (although we continue to love the Zojirushi "in season"). The Braun is perfect. A full pot of 7 cups boils in 5 minutes and then shuts off. It's light, not ugly, and has a red light indicator on 2 sides. Best of all, the platter is perfectly designed, so that you don't have to orient the pot one way or another when you sit it down. The whole thing pretty much stays out of your way; even the cord length is adjustable. Perhaps the only thing missing is a bell or ring-tone that tells you when it's done. Small detail. ... This multipurpose tool created a stir in the kitchen when it came out, as the food processor did a generation earlier. In order to blend, whip, and chop smaller amounts of ingredients, it's no longer necessary to wrestle with bulky appliances. Immerse the 7-1/2-inch blender shaft, with its little blade on the end, into a pot where vegetables have been simmering, press the switch, and in seconds a creamy soup appears--with no need to dump everything into a big blender. Blend sauces and baby foods in their cooking pots, too. Blend a milk shake or juice drink right in its drinking container, or in the 2-1/2-cup beaker included in this set. Whipping cream and egg whites is just as convenient: a 5-inch whisk attaches to the motor when the blender is removed. For chopping nuts, herbs, garlic, or onions, there's a 2-cup chopper bowl with a special blade. The motor with the attached blender shaft can be mounted on a wall (mount included). Everything but the motor and the chopper-bowl top (both should be wiped with a damp cloth) can go into the dishwasher. This tool is more than handy, it's a revolution. The instruction sheet, unfortunately, is harder to comprehend than the tool is to use. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a Godsend!
No, I'm not kidding. This handy little guy has saved me counter space, time and cleaning up. I am able to make cakes, muffins, great tasting pure fruit juices in an instant. I thought that this little gadget wouldn't be able to live up to its promise, but it's proved me wrong. I bought it out of desperation, after my Moulinex broke down. The first thought in my head was "what about counter space?" Well, Mr. Braun made sure he left nothing out. Because of his great mind, the device comes with a wall mounting so you don't have to clutter your counter with clumsy top-heavy things.

I read in a review for this product that it doesn't last. What could possibly be wrong with this when you need to chop something really fast? Like any normal person, I use the device, clean it and put it away. Simple as that! You can even go as far as using it and putting it back in the box. That is what I did up til the time the wall mount was set up.

Now I can watch my weight, drink homemade milkshakes, and chop away at those tear jerking onions without shedding a single tear.
And, when I'm done, I just rinse everything in the sink and clip it back onto the wall til the next time.
No more fuss having to make the perfect omelet either. With the handy wire whisk, you'll have a nice fluffy omelet in no time.

Watch out for how much pressure you apply to the speed accelerator button, because you may find your cake mix blending in pretty well with the paint on your wall. In that case, avoid using a shallow bowl. Use a deeper mixing bowl, bigger than the size recommended for your ingredients.

Happy cooking! Hope my review helped you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Powerful gadget with no Mess!
These days it's hard to really brag about a product, especially something as silly as a blender. Well, here I am, ready to brag about it. Just received it today, and I was very impressed with its performance. I work out almost every day, and I need to be consuming about 3 large shakes a day. I use to stir about 2 cups of powder and milk for about 3-4 minutes each time I had to make a shake. Every single time, since the shake had to be super thick, I'd get nasty big CLUMPS all over, it was a disaster and something I never looked forward to. This gadget, however, is a gift sent from god I tell ya! Less than 10 seconds ( no exaggeration) and the thing just turned into liquid, CLUMPFREE, it tasted so damn good. BUT, yes there's a BUT... the BEST part was that it only took another fifteen seconds to clean!... Cleaning blenders three times a day everyday could be a nightmare, but with this gadget it's a beautiful thing. If you need a blender everyday this is for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Detachable system works the best
I've had a Braun one-piece hand blender for about 12-15 years that has worked very well. My wife saw this model somewhere and bought it for me for one simple reason: I was always complaining about the non-detachable model being dangerous if you left it pluged in.

Since the blades are exposed, any pressing of the button will chop anything in its path, and that includes fingers. Now, with the new model, it can stay pluged in and safe, since it stays detached until use (at least in my case). Of course, none of this speaks to this thing being much easier to clean than the previous one. I detach after use, run under hot water, then place on a paper towel to dry. If I'm in a hurry, I just drop in a water-filled glass in the sink and deal with it later. It doesn't stain, even with blueberries, so there isn't a need to deal with it immediately. However, I would not recommend putting this in the dishwasher. There's no need to and the prolonged heat might damage it. That's just my suspicion. At any rate, cleaning the old one required attention to it immediately after use.

Anyway, I use this thing almost daily for protein shakes (smoothies). I'm considering a smoothie maker since I want something to make in the morning and have made for several more shakes during the day. However, even with a smoothie maker, I'll still use this Braun blender on stuff that would create a mess in the smoothie machine. For example, one shake I make with protein powder, milk, a few small ice cubes and peanut butter. I swear that tastes just like a melted Blizzard from Dairy Queen, for those of you that have had them. You would NOT want to make anything with Peanut butter in a smoothie maker or blender. With the Braun, its a snap!

2-0 out of 5 stars Trust me, it's not worth it.
I was initially very happy with this blender. I probably used it no more than twice a week for fairly low-powered jobs like making pesto and blending soup. 14 months after purchase, the motor just died, literally in mid-blend. I thought it had gotten overheated and left it for a couple of days. No luck. It was fully dead, and so was the 1-year warranty.

So I called Braun. I admit I was hoping they would offer to give me a replacement motor unit. Nope. I asked about repair, but apparently, nobody fixes things anymore. Nor do they offer recycling. What they do offer is a heavy pitch to buy a whole new Braun blender set, even if all the attachments for your old one is perfectly fine. I had to argue with them for 15 minutes before they decided that they would just let me buy a new motor unit off of them for $20.

A week later I got a box from Braun with... a whole new set of attachments. Not the motor unit. Needless to say, I'm never buying another Braun product again. If somebody wants the used attachments (whisk, chopper, blender, smoothie container), they're yours.

5-0 out of 5 stars love this!!

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!
At a friend's suggestion I recently bought the Braun Multiquick Professional Hand Blender. I wasn't sure about spending so much on a piece of kitchen equipment I had always lived without... but I finally decided to take the leap of faith. I couldn't be happier with the product! It's easy to use and easy to clean. It makes fantastic creamed soups. Because of the metal blending shaft, you can use this hand blender right in the pot of whatever you're cooking (thus saving you from the chore of cleaning another container!). I recently made a very inexpensive and delicious soup with onions, zucchini, eggplant, water, Thai curry paste and a can of coconut milk. I blended it with my hand blender and created a very rich-tasting, filling soup for pennies! Now that Autumn has arrived, I'm looking forward to making pumpkin soup with my hand blender! If you're considering the purchase, just go for it! I don't think you will be disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Design Ever
Our old stick blender died and though I didn't use it very often, it was indispensible for certain tasks such as smoothing tomato sauces. When I went searching for a replacement, I was lucky enough to find and choose this one.

Now I'm using it every single day because the interchangable design makes it so easy to clean. The motor stays dry and plugged into the wall while the business end detaches and goes to the sink for a quick and easy rinse.

No fumbling with the cord. No gymnastics at the sink with a stick that's too long to get under the faucet. No worrying about getting the wrong parts wet. No tomato stains on white plastic - this wand is stainless steel. Ten seconds and it's done and ready to go again. Contrast this with my traditional Kitchen-Aid blender which has a 3-part lid, glass body, 2 rubber gaskets, a plastic base, and the blender teeth to clean. It's no contest. In addition, the shape of the wand head does effectively cut down on the spalshing. When it's running there is a strong suction effect which holds it down to the bottom of the container you are mixing in.

Is it perfect? No. The head at the end of the wand is a little too broad for many containers. I doubt I'll ever have use for the ice crusher. The anti-splash design does sometimes prevent the full quantity of food from cycling through, so you need to either tilt it slightly or simply move it around instead of leaving it in one spot. The metal wand might cause scratches in non-stick cookware if not used gingerly. Some of the attachments collect water if you try to clean them in the dishwasher. But these complaints are nitpicky. It does its core job very well.

The bottom line is that here is an appliance that doesn't cause you more work in cleaning than it saves you in doing its job. It's a joy to be able to mix up a mocha malt frappuccino in under a minute, not have to pay $tarbuck$ an arm and a leg for it, and have the blender clean before you even start to drink it. On that basis alone, it has almost paid for itself already.

5-0 out of 5 stars Why did I wait so long to buy this?
I love to cook but am not enamoured of "gadgets". Indeed, I gave a way a food processor after less than a year because I actually prefer using a first class knife and doing things the hard way! But, I make all of my own soups and for years went through the messy process of using an old Sunbeam blender, transferring the hot liquid from saucepan to blender and back again - yuck! No more! What a delight to use this machine is - easy, clean and simple to operate and excellent results for my soups. Soup on the table in 25 minutes! Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Machine
I saw this machine at because I was searching for a hand held blender to mash up my fruit to make my jams with. I saw this particular model and thought it would be great to have. The price was a bit high and I fought with myself for a few days on if I should buy it or not. My father had bought me a hand held blender for a house warming present when I moved into my first apartment and I used it till it died. I was looking for a good replacement. I finally after a few days ordered it. I had it delivered 2nd day and it came on the 2nd day. I opened the box and immediatley started to use it. I have to say that I have used it to mash strawberries, apricots, bananas, grapes, apples and many other fruits right in the pan and in a few seconds. I have used all the accessories for many different things. I use the large container for making drinks, shakes, and for large portions of nuts to be chopped. The smaller one is great for a cup or so of ingredients. Both the small and large containers have a rubber base that double as a lid when you want to cover the container (I am having a slight problem with the base staying on the large container bottom though, once I lift the container the base will stay on the counter). I used the wisk and beaker for homemade mayo, and salsa and they turned out great. I thought for sure that the ice crusher wouldnt work that great but I was wrong it did work and crushed quite a bit of ice about 3 cups or so. The stand was great too. I installed it on the wall and when I am done using the blender I place it back into the stand. I keep it plugged in at all times and it is just hanging there ready to be used. I have only had this machine for about a month now so I am sure I will be using it for other things as well. It is a great buy and I am very happy with this purchase. The machine is very powerful, easy to clean, and all parts are dishwasher safe. I strongly recommend this product to others.

5-0 out of 5 stars Review from a fresh orange juice addict!
For the last 30 years, I squeeze a glass of Orange Juice in the morning. I don't drink coffee but this juice gives me that extra lift in the morning. I have owned most brands of personal juicers that there is. I really do consider myself an expert when it comes to selecting oranges to the kind of juicer. This has been my baby for several years. Its is easy to clean and gives me a bit of the pulp that is necessary for that vitamin nutrition. I have found this is the best for ease of use and, dang, like the everready battery, this thing keeps on ticking. It runs after all these years the same as when I first bought it. If your thinking of buying a personal juicer, save yourself the experimenting and go for this kidding, it is the best, could have given it 10 stars but they just didn't have it!

4-0 out of 5 stars good news/bad news
First the good news:

- Like the really high end juicers, this juicer is continuous flow: no more stopping to empty a tiny little shallow container, or spilling one all over yourself on the way to the table.

- There are only two parts that get messy, and they're both really easy to clean (but not dishwasher safe, unfortunately)

- (Most important) According to customer service, the plastic cone and cup are made out of polypropylene. Unlike ABS, polycarbonate, or vinyl, polypro doesn't leech into acidic food.

Then, the bad news:

- The motor is weak enough to stall on large oranges, expecially if they're old and a little dry.

- The motor doesn't autoreverse, so you leave lots of pulp behind.

- The spout is about an eighth of an inch too low to put a pyrex one quart measuring cup under (bummer).

- The continuous-flow spout looks like a lesson in bad iterative design. Because of the way pulp is caught, the spout dribbles for about a minute after juicing has stopped (big deal - this is what saucers are for). So, the designers decided to make the spout flip up to stop the dribble. Then, to stop juice from going around the edges of the spout, they made the juice come out of a tiny little juice hole onto the spout, and put a little rubber button on the spout to plug the tiny little juice hole. It works: when the spout is flipped up the juicer doesn't leak. But when the spout is flipped down, the pulp clogs around the button and the hole.

This juicer is still worth buying if you don't want to spend the bucks for a higher-end continuous juicer. You'll have to unclog it after every five or six oranges, though, so if you were planning on bulk juicing, or have a large family, you probably want to buy one of the more expensive ones.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome, truly awesome
I bought this because of a referral by Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa on Food Network) and after reading the reviews of previous buyers. This is one of the best appliance purchases I have ever made. Simple cleaning is an understatement, there is virtually no cleanup. I pull off the top, rinse it and go! Thanks so much for making my juicing so simple!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Does what it's supposed to...
I'm very happy with this juicer. It's very easy to use and easy to clean. It's not too loud or too big. I'd recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value!
I too bought this based on the recommendation by Ina Garten. What a great kitchen appliance. I use lots of lemons and this baby gets all the juice out, and fast.
Easy to clean, easy to use, efficient and inexpensive...what more could anyone want from a juicer. ... Read more

Large enough to grind up to 2-1/2 ounces of coffee beans (enough for 12 cups), this powerful grinder ensures that freshly ground coffee is quickly available, even for big coffeemakers in the office. The details are what make this grinder exceptional: The lid is transparent for monitoring the grind, and has two down-pointing ribs to guide beans toward the blades for even grinding. The design of the stainless-steel blades, combined with the 150-watt motor, means beans can be ground quickly without overheating and spoiling the coffee's taste. For safety, the grinder will not work unless the lid is securely in place and locked down. Finally, the power cord wraps around the grinder's bottom for neat storage. 4-0 out of 5 stars Works Speedily and Lasts a Long Time!
I've had my little grinder for more than 6 years now. I use it for grinding nuts (I'm not a coffee drinker) and I'm always amazed that it grinds everything so quickly and neatly. It was so easy to use that I even let my 5 year old help the last time I needed to grind almonds. The only thing is that it's hard to get every bit of ground stuff out... there's always a little bit of grounds left. I suppose I could get it out with a dental pick or a Q-tip or something, but a regular cleaning doesn't get it all. Other than that, it works great!

5-0 out of 5 stars Efficient operation and excellent value
My unit has been smoothly grinding coffee beans for over a year, and shows no signs of slowing down. If I had to replace this grinder tomorrow, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the same model again.

Yes, it is loud while it's grinding but the noise never lasts more than about 10 seconds. Often I just pulse it a few times for 2-3 seconds each. It's the smell of fresh coffee, not the sound of the grinder that gets our family out of bed in the morning.

After a year I'm happy to report that the motor isn't evidencing any signs of fatigue, nor do the blades seem to be dulling. I'm not too hard on it though -- it's used less than half a minute every day. It never grinds anything harder than frozen coffee beans. And I never use anything wet or damp to clean the inside. After tapping out all of the freshly ground coffee, I wipe out any residual "coffee dust" with a dry paper towel.

I feel that it's a very efficient coffee grinder, and an excellent value for the price.

2-0 out of 5 stars Broke after less than 5 yrs of low use
Had this one for less than 5 yrs. Used it less than once per month. Motor froze and it no longer works. If you are going to use as a spice grinder, beware that the metal bowl is hard to clean and cannot be put in the dishwasher.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little grinder!
We received this coffee grinder as a gift about 5 years ago, and it's still going strong. It's fairly loud but quite fast: in only a few seconds, you can have aromatic, finely ground coffee, and nary a bean in the mix! It's true that the capacity is small, but I've never found this to be a problem, especially since the best coffee requires freshly ground beans. And although the unit is not dishwasher safe, I've never had a problem with cleanup either, as I just rinse out the plastic cup and use a damp paper towel to wipe out the interior. This inexpensive, easy-to-use tool is a perfect addition to your kitchen!

5-0 out of 5 stars 15 years and still going
This little grinder is GREAT! I got it for a wedding gift 15 years ago. I have used it often and I grind all sorts of specialty coffee beans. BUT this also works GREAT for FLAX seeds! So you can do more than just coffee. I highly recommend THIS grinder. ... Read more

Equipped with an exceptionally powerful 280-watt motor, this versatile appliance is a combination hand mixer and hand blender. For mixing, beating, and whipping, there are two cunningly designed beaters that produce volume while reducing splashing. For kneading, there's a strong dough hook, and for blending, there's an attachment that can be used in the accompanying 2-cup container (or any container) for small jobs like salad dressings. For chopping, the power unit attaches to another container with its own blades to make quick work of nuts, onions, hard cheeses, herbs, garlic, and meats. (The container's base serves as a snap-on plastic lid for storage.) The mixer/blender has three speeds and a power-pulse button for working through tough jobs. 5-0 out of 5 stars A must have in any kitchen!
My former roommate had this mixer when we lived together, and we used it all the time, especially for making salsa and smoothies. This unit takes the place of about 5 other appliances! I was in the market for a mini food processor, but after rediscovering this now I don't need one! It is also extremely easy to clean, and you should keep the box for storage-makes it a lot easier to put away. I can't say enough about this Braun Multimix!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome product!
I had a Black & Decker hand mixer, which was underpowered and tended to splatter. I also ha a Black & Decker food processor, where cleanup was messy and food tended to stick to the sides of the bowl, resulting in a lot of waste.
The Braun M880 mixer attachments feature a unique design which eliminates or minimizes splatter. An onion did not stick to the bowl of the chopper attachment and came out very uniform and finely chopped. I was able to knead dough for a pizza with ease. The amount of power in the blender attachment surprised me at first, tending to create a suction effect and drew the blender toward the bottom of the pot when I blended some tomatoes. The tomatoes also came out very uniform and nicely pureed.
I've replaced two tools with one and have added functionality.
Overall, this is an excellent product with a very clever design.

4-0 out of 5 stars Multiple Attachments Make This A Winner
I've used this little mixer more in the past couple of weeks than I ever used my stand mixer in ten years. It is so convenient to use, and it's small enough for easy storage.

The chopper attachment is powerful and the cleanup is easy. I've used it for all sorts of veggies, and even minced fresh ginger in it. Fresh salsa was a breeze and SO much better than store bought.

The stick blender works great. The motor is so powerful that you actually get a suction effect on the bottom of the bowl. The mixer is also powerful--it handled a cake mix with ease.

I would have given it five stars, but I thought (from reading another review) that it came with a wall mount to hang it. This does not come with a wall mount, so storage isn't quite as convenient as I had hoped.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this multimixer
I have had my braun multimixer for about 8 years. I received it as a wedding gift and I have worked this thing very hard. I make these fabulous cookies twice a year that have destroyed my stand mixer and yet this little braun multimix has done the job for the last 5 years. Finally the motor gave out, but after what I put it through for the last 8 years, it deserves retirement and I'm buying another one just like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works so great I bought a second one as a backup...
I do not understand the bad reviews...I read this was the quietest mixer and boy it is! I works great and the design is real handy. The drink mixer tool works great for hot choclate, mixing and grinding items for salad dressing and puree of soup. I have had none of the problems others with low reviews give. This is top notch and I find when I locate a great product at a great price I buy a backup because one day I may wear out the one I have. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars yes, it does break easily
It may be "scratch-resistant" but it sure isnt' break resistant. This is also my fourth carafe which broke while washing. The machine is great but as others have implied, it gets expensive replacing the carafe once or twice a year. If I could do it over, I woudl have bought a stanless steel carafe.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Durable Carafe
We are voracious coffee drinkers. I have owned many different coffee makers but I think my Braun has preformed the best. As far as durability of carafes, I have had the same one for over 4 years and it finally broke this morning. I think $14 every four years is quite reasonable. It is a thin, light glass carafe so I was expecting it to last about 6 months like most of my other coffee makers.
I have been totally pleased with the durability of the Braun carafe!

3-0 out of 5 stars Works, but glass is thin
I bought this to replace my original Braun carafe, which finally cracked due to heat stress. It is a little different design from the original. It works, but the glass is much thinner. Still, it hasn't broken in the year or so I've been using it, so it does get the job done.

4-0 out of 5 stars Better Than the Original!!!
In spite of the negative reviews written about the Braun
replacement caraffe we needed one. The original was an
eggshell-thin piece of glass that we babied for 1 1/2 yrs.
It broke while washing it much as others have described.
Our suprise was to find that the replacement had heavier-
duty glass than the original! Has Braun heard complaints
and reverted to previous standards? Four stars! It still
could be a little sturdier yet!

1-0 out of 5 stars Crappy Carafe
I've had the coffeemaker for less than a year, yet I've broken three carafes already and we are very careful. Makes great coffee, but I've spent twice as much on replacement carafes than the coffeemaker cost. Braun can do better. ... Read more

Long and sleek, this toaster from Braun's Impressions design collection features a cool-touch exterior of brushed stainless steel. The toaster's single 10-by-1-1/2-inch slot holds two slices of regular size bread or one over-sized slice from a broad focaccia or round bakery loaf. 5-0 out of 5 stars Worth its weight in gold.... no platinum
I have been using an older version of this Braun for more than a year, and I can say that it is the best money I have ever spent on a kitchen item, and perhaps the best under [$$$] I have ever spent on anything. I have all the kitchen tools, most professional level, and all the garage tools that anyone could want, but for my money this is the real deal. Spend the extra for this professional model and you will not be disappointed. The extra power is well worth the extra $$. It is amazing. Clean up is so quick and easy and it does about everything. I even started using mine as a juicer when my old juicer broke. In a tall container, throw in some chopped carrots, a banana, protein powder, and some Silk soy milk, and 2 mins. later you have ecstasy. I have done away with my blender, chopper, etc. And for whipping, I no longer create the big clean up mess with my KitchenAid. I even take this item with me when I travel since I wind up cooking wherever I visit. That is how much I love this product. I have no affiliation with the company, by the way.

4-0 out of 5 stars Powerful gadget
I am very impressed with the heftiness and solid build of this stick blender. I have another Braun, much smaller, which now feels like a toy compared to this one. Time to retire the little, less powerful one. I also like the size of the food chopper - it is much bigger than the mini choppers that are in the market. You can easily put in all the ingredients for salsa or guacamole, and chop it all in one chopping session, rather than chop little portions as you would in a mini chopper. Much easier than hauling down the food processor. Great in-between size.

The ONLY reason I give this item 4 stars (would have given it 4.5, if I could have) is that it is much bigger than I had expected, and as another reviewer mentioned, the "base" of the stick blender is quite wide (2-7/8 inches in diameter) and therefore, does not fit most drinking glasses. Solution to this: use the included beaker then pour into the glasses. On the other hand, it is really nice to have the wider base for puree'ing soups - makes your job much faster, especially with its power. The whisk I really don't have a use for, much faster and less clumsy to use a hand whisk. But hey, it is still an added bonus.

5-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT UNIT
the blender performs flawlessly. as a stick blender, it draws the soup down into the pot allowing the user to move it up and down without splatters. I'm all done with putting bowls and beaters into the freezer for whipped cream..just pour the cream, sugar and vanilla into the included container and it's one minute to stiff peaks. Chopper works well on spices, nuts, and cheese and everything cleans right up

5-0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Hand Blender
After much disappointment from another cheap piece, finally the one that works like a magic.
Powerful, quiet and versatile.
Definitely rewards you back for your money. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best coffee maker on market
I did a ton of research before replacing our most recent coffee maker. I don't drink coffee, but I end up making it for my wife and for dinner guests. I didn't want anything too fancy, but wanted something durable, mid-price range and with ability to make both quick single cups and full 10-cup pots.

The Braun KF550 reviewed better than any other and now I know why. The unit is totally perfect. The most simple coffee maker I've ever used. The gold filter is a tremendous time-saver. It is unreal quick to brew and very hot.

The only slight negative I have is that it brews quick and hot and sizzles a bit while it is brewing. A very minor thing.

I highly recommend this product!

3-0 out of 5 stars Great looking but an OK coffee maker
This is my first coffee maker. I searched all over the place and found good reviews for this model, and decent price on Amazon ($49.99). After using it for 10 days, this is what I think:
- This coffee maker is really cute. Great looks.
- You can not use fine coffee with Gold filter...the coffee is filled with granules. If uou want to use fine coffee, use cheap old paper filters.
- Auto off and pause-and-serve functions work well.

Overall an OK coffee maker, but not great.

I am not sure if I will buy it again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great tasting coffee, simple to use
Prior to getting the Braun, I was using a 10-year old coffeemaker that had been in use way too long. I didn't think it was possible to get such a smooth tasting cup of coffee at home, but now I know different. The water filter makes tap water tolerable, and the burner keeps it hot hot for a long time. I wasn't able to use the gold-tone filter since it let small coffee particles pass through, so I just use the #4 Mellitta paper filters. Works great, I'd definitely recommend to anyone!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Coffee Pot!!
This is the best coffee pot I've ever owned. It brews and keeps the coffee hot. It is easy to use--there's a button for the basket to swing out. Plus, after brewing there is not an accumulation of steam under the water resevoir lid like the previous Mr. Coffee I had. This doesn't have any bells and whistles, but it just makes great coffee.

1-0 out of 5 stars Looks great, that's about it though...
I bought Braun because the name used to mean high quality, but I think they've lost the plot. The coffee is very weak & there is no setting to change this - I've had to resort to using more coffee to try to get the strength to a reasonable level - surprising from a European company. (My old $30 Philips had a coffee strengh setting - this can't be a difficult feature to implement). The pot always dribbles when you pour, so I am forever wiping up spots, and you can't pour a cup while it's still brewing - coffee continues to dribble through the filter opening (I think the design of the lever to control this is too complex - the leaking started after about a month).

I see the price has come down by $10 since I bought mine - I think I know why... ... Read more

Designed with ease of use and storage in mind, this juicer's pieces fit together like a Chinese puzzle--it takes up minimal space on the counter, and it's a breeze to assemble and disassemble. It also makes great juice, extracting every drop and leaving the pulp very dry; the container includes a special foam strainer, so when you pour out your juice, it's clear and unblemished. The feeding tube is small, but I liked it, because it forces you to cut smaller chunks, presenting less chance of jamming the machine. And the top of the juicer converts to a handy feeding tray. The only problem you'll have with this machine is deciding what you want to juice next--I suggest slices of Gala apple and fresh pineapple, with a smidgen of ginger. --C. Whitney-Ward ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I would like to hug the designer
Each morning when I use this amazing and beautiful machine, I am in awe of the design and the workmanship. Everyone I know who uses a juicer for healthful vegetable juice complains about the pain they have in storing the huge thing and cleaning it. But not me...I make my juice each morning as recommended by Dr. Andrew Weil and have NO TROUBLE at all. This machine is strong and small and pretty and easy and dependable. Braun people....thank you. This is the best deal anyone can get.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best juicer for the Serious Juicer and Everyday Joe!!
I am a juicing fanatic! So naturally I wanted to try all of the juicers and comparison shop before I bought my own. I must say, the Braun Juice Extractor takes the cake! Here's why:

1. This Juicer is easy to assemble: the Juiceman Jr always was difficult to connect all of the parts together.

2. This Juicer is easy to DISassemble: Trying to take the rotating mesh blade off of the Juiceman Jr is a pain (and can be painfull!)

3. The design is VERY spacesaving and ergonomically correct: The Juiceman Jr has a large, unnatached bin and normal glass that doesn't fit or store well with the juicer unit. The Braun Juice Extractor however, fits together in all one base unit, and even the pouring bin that recieves the juice snuggly fits against the juicer unit.

4. The REALLY cool foam strainer: This is the best part! If you've ever juiced, you know what a pain the foam at the top is! You can't get rid of the foam without actually straining it or scooping it away; you can kiss that foam goodbye with the strainer!

5. The detachable tray at the top allows you to hold your fruit and veggies without messing up other bowls and cutting boards.

6. It's just better that all the rest! Try it, and I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do!

5-0 out of 5 stars the perfect juicer
The design of this juicer is pure excellence. Very attractive, light, and compact, it takes up less space than any of the others I've seen, and the ease of cleaning it makes me not mind using it 3 or 4 times a day; and it is the thoroughness of the cleaning that puts this machine way above the the rest. I have owned other juicers, and ended up throwing them away, because of the nooks and crannies that were impossible to get to, and accumulated "suspicious substances". Usually the juice spout was the problem area, and in this case, it is short and open, giving you easy access for cleaning.

Quick to take apart and assemble, with it's handy "filling tray" and cup with foam separator, it has a slot for cord storage, and though it does make a noise while proccessing, it doesn't sound like a sand blaster, as some others do.
As much as I like the terrific Braun blender I bought a few months ago, I'm equally pleased with this. Juicing gives you the most nutrition for the least amount of stress on your digestive system, so it's a great way to get your enzymes, minerals and vitamins, and this is by far the best and simplest machine to get those precious liquids from.

1-0 out of 5 stars Too much pulp in the juice. Please reconsider before buying!
Produces sooooo much pulp that it simply plops down into the juice cup. Simply awful! I had to STRAIN it every time (unless you enjoy 'thick', 'soupy' juice, of course). Pulp is completely wet. Basically, waste of money both - on the juicer and the amount of veggies used to produce tiny cup of thick, pulpy juice. Wish, I'd known what I know now before buying.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fan is the weak point
I checked out all the previous reviews when I was buying my juicer, and noted that two people complained about fan blades breaking off.

So I checked mine when it arrived, and it had two blades missing. It was still supposed to work, but when I turned it on, the missing blades massacred the remaining standing. So now its fan was without blades at all, and the juicer wouldn't even start any more.

I am returning it to Amazon, thanks to them that they refund the shipping. However, my girlfriend has owned the exact same brand for five years and it's been perfect for her. So I am probably ordering a replacement.

Judging on lauding reviews and the Braun reputation, it must be a good product, just check for the fan on the bottom panel of the juicer when it arrives, to make sure all the blades are there. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars ** I OWN THIS * A WORK HORSE **
This is a basic, excellent, sturdy coffee grinder.I have purchased a few fancier ones to see if they do anything better and they don't!! I bang this coffee grinder all over the place on my kitchen cabinets to shake the freshly ground coffee that can sometimes stick to the sides and it still works well... I have had it for 4 yrs.Don't pay more for something that I doubt will do anything more than just grind the coffee. My fancy GE one broke and the others were just nice looking.Braun makes excellent, well constructed products.

2-0 out of 5 stars Do not wash with water, just wipe it
Bought this grinder to grind coffee beans only but I made a mistake by washing only the metal part with water. Of course I did this with power unpluged and I did not put it in the dishwasher nor submerge it in the water.
Well after using for awhile (6 months), the motor freezed so I took it apart and found it got rusted where the motor connects to the blade. I did not read the intruction so I don't know if the instructions mention anything about cleaning this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Old faithful
We have used a Braun grinder like this almost every day for over 15 years, and it works as well as the day we got it. It has not changed much over the years and the new one appears to be identical. You have to gauge the grind texture by the sound of the machine, which takes some practice,(after a couple of grinds, you can't see through the top) but overall, it's great. I'm buying another one for a friend today. The best part is, it's less expensive now than when we bought ours 15 years ago.

4-0 out of 5 stars Grinds?Check.Makes lots of noise?Check.
It's simple. It's small. It can grind enough coffee for a large home pot.

I don't use it very often, but that's because I don't really make coffee that often. It gets the job done, and does it fairly quickly and painlessly.

It's a bit noisy, but I think that's to be expected. After all, you're grinding coffee beans.

I've strictly used this for coffee, not spices.I imagine it would do a fine job on spices as well, but given the smaller size of most spices, you should read a different review where someone has used it for that. However, if you do plan on grinding spices, buy 2.One for spices, one for coffee.

The grinder is a little difficult to clean. It's not submersible, and the blade isn't removable. The top/lid is easy enough to clean (as it is submersible), but for the unit, I shake/tap it out onto a paper towel, and then use a new, damp paper towel to clean it out, and then dry it.

The "not easy, though not quite difficult," clean-up is what makes this 4 out of 5 stars, instead of 5/5.

With 14 grind settings and a precision milling system, this electriccoffee mill grinds coffee beans to any fineness without overheating them andspoiling their full flavor and aroma. Two ranges of grind settings are marked:one for fine grinds suitable for espresso and Turkish-style coffee, and theother for coarser grinds suitable for drip machines, French presses, andpercolators. Selecting a grind requires only a twist of the ring under thecoffee-bean container, which holds 8 ounces of beans and can be removed forcleaning. The ground-coffee container is permanently attached for convenienceand has a rounded bottom to facilitate scooping. There's a timer dial calibratedby the number of cups desired, so the grinder uses only the amount of beansimmediately needed. A measuring spoon (for 1 cup coffee) is included. The millhas cord storage underneath and carries a one-year warranty against defects.--Fred Brack ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Needs antistatic sheets
This grinder made a horrendous mess on the counter when I first used it due to the static on the grounds. However, by wiping everything down with a sheet of bounce and then polishing the streaks off the clear bits with a paper towel, the grounds behaved a lot more civilly. Keep a pastry brush handy though, there will still be grounds tossed around. The timer is mechanical and the grinder turns on as soon as the dial is turned, leaving the grinder unplug doesn't help cause the timer runs as soon as the dial is turned regardless so you can't consistently select a given amount, you pretty much have to give it about 5 seconds on the timer for every coffee measure worth (1 tablespoon) and add 5 so that you have enough depth to actually scoop the coffee out of the receptacle. I bought the unit cause it was priced competitively versus a quality manual knee grinder but I think I might still get a manual just to have more control over the consistency of the grounds (this one does produce some fine powder regardless of setting). They probably should've had a grounded chute on this grinder to neutralize the static before getting to the plastic receptacles. The cleaning blade on the coffee scoop is fairly pointless (no pun intended), use a pastry brush.

4-0 out of 5 stars so far so good
I just purchased this mill to replace another Braun I've happily used for 10 years, and have been amazed that it's lasted so long. The other was a burr grinder as well, so the mess was not an issue. Live with it if you love coffee! The timer dial was something I hadn't been expecting, previous one had a "number of cups" dial instead. I've read people's guidelines on how long to grind for how many cups, I don't intend on measuring the ground coffee, more likely I'll measure out the beans instead. Much quieter than my previous version, and looks like it will be less likely to jam up on dark roasts, with a nice big chute.

2-0 out of 5 stars Messy, Messy, Messy!
Well, it grinds ok, I agree with other posters about the fine grounds, but I'm not the coffee fan in the family here, so ignore my opinion on that. However, I am the one that makes the coffee each day, and oh my is this thing MESSY! The static provides a mini-coffee explosion upon opening the canister, the grounds get stuck in the duct that leads to the canister and they have to be dug out with a knife/spoon something to that effect. I really wouldn't recommend it just on the basis that it is SO incredibly messy.

3-0 out of 5 stars OK Grind but Messy Messy Messy ...
The chute leading from the grinding wheel gets clogged, and grinds go all over the counter when you detach the ground coffee compartment from the unit. The consistency of the ground coffee is good however.

4-0 out of 5 stars Can't beat it for the price
This is a great coffee grinder at this price point. To do much better you are looking at probably over $100.

Other reviews have mentioned the static problem. This is true, but is easily dealt with: get into the habit of removing the hopper and breathing into it before grinding, just enough to fog the inside. After this the static won't be noticable. As long as you put it back together tightly there won't be much mess. ... Read more

For those who need to be dressed to perfection for work, the FreeStyle Pro irons clothes to a flawless finish. This iron has unique steam channels in the front of its soleplate that precondition fabric before ironing even begins, cutting down significantly on ironing time. Fast results are also due to the smooth Eloxal soleplate that has quick gliding action and distributes powerful steam across its entire surface. The FreeStyle Pro also has a Power Shot button, which sends a single five-second blast of steam when either ironing horizontally or vertically steaming drapes or hanging garments. Another easy-to-reach button instantly stops the steam flow.

Other features of this iron include a unique textile protector that snaps over the soleplate. This attachment allows for full steam output while absorbing much of the heat, so it protects delicate fabrics and reduces the appearance of shiny patches on darker clothing. Safety precautions include a three-way automatic shutoff mechanism that turns the iron off if it rests for too long in either a horizontal, vertical, or side-lying position. This iron has an open handle with a rubberized grip for better maneuverability and more comfort during long ironing sessions. 5-0 out of 5 stars Unlike other reviewers, I think this iron rocks the house!
Being a single male working in a collared shirt world, I iron quite a bit. I have been through 3 irons in the last 4 years, spedning around 70 or 80 bucks on each one. I was ready to get a rewanda (or however you spell it) and then i noticed this one had a unique finish that was different from stainless. Being the risktaker I am, I went ahead and purchased this bad boy.
Even though the others reviewing this unit seem to think this iron is crap, I throughly enjoy mine. Trust me, I iron a hell of a lot.
My mom has one of those fancy smancy expensive Rawentas (or however you spell it, and I took this home to do some comparison for kicks and giggles. Ironically it appears to heat up faster than my mom's and the material on the iron plate cleans a whole hellua of a lot easier than stainless steel, in fact it beats the tar out of stainless steal.

i haven't had any leaks or the such from mine and i have been using it daily for about 2 years. I have probably knocked it off the ironing board at least 6 or 7 times, and it still is up and running like a champ.

i also like the grip on the iron.

i find using this bad boyto be a pleasant ironing expierience (even though i dont honestly like to iron).

Don't jump to conclusions with the other reviews. Maybe they got duds or something, but I can't complain a bit about mine. It also cleans very very easily. I do use water from my PUR filter, even though the manual says its not necessary. i'm not sure if this makes a difference or not, but it has stayed very clean and i see little or no calcium deposits. I don't even use the self cleaning thingy on it.

There are nicer irons out there i'm sure, and you will pay for them in price. At one time i thought it was important to have a heavy iron, but this one is pretty damn lightweight which seems to make it an ideal unit for those with lazy or weak arms,

Like i said, it steams better than any of my other previous irons and i would honestly rate it being as nice, or possibly better than my mom's Rawanta (or however you spell it). I'm not sure her model, but i knew it wasn't cheap (around 130 bucks).

Also the attachment piece that displaces the iron plate from your clothing works really good on slacks. i have some silk slacks that hang great after using it. That in itself makes me a happy ironer.

As for the others who had bad expieriences, i feel sorry for them. Braun is really good with customer service and i own a lot of thier products.
I'm surprised to see the other reviewers so disappointed. So if you are ballsy, give it a shot... the non-stainless type finish (some patented crap i can't remember what it is called) rocks the fact that the iron is pretty lighter in weight will leave you with plenty of zest to iron till the cows come home.

now that i think about it, maybe the other ironing 'pros' (?naive domesticated slaves?) might need to read the manual or something. it does offer a few pointers for a stellar ironing expierience. but then again who likes to read manuals right? :-)

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Impressed
I've used this iron for a couple of weeks now and really it does no better than the $25 Black & Decker I used to have. This one has more "bells and whistles" but really other than good steam I don't need a fancy looking iron. And that extra plate thingy they give you is a my opinion, I'll never use it.

There are also some problems with water spots/drips onto the fabric even after the iron is warmed up. I bought it at Bed Bath & Beyond for $60 so that's the only reason I'm keeping it :) If I ever need another iron I'll get a Rowenta.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad Product
I am on my second iron. They all shut off and do not turn back on, result water shoots out and stains clothes.

My second one will be returned ASAP.

1-0 out of 5 stars Any Iron will work better than this
I wouldn't recommend this iron to anyone!!, you could grab any iron and it'll perform better than this one. I brought this iron back in 2002 and it worked fine for like a month and ever since it has failed to perform all the special stuff it's suppose to do. The worst scenarios I face is when water drips out of the iron face plate. I'll try to return it back to braun if possible, I'm lazy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this iron.
I bought this iron in December 2002 and it has never worked properly. It shuts itself off in about a minute or two leaving watermaks on whatever I am ironing. It will not come back on unless I unplug and replug it. I am sending it back to Braun. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A fine carafe
Ah, what a splendiferous carafe. The only problem is that when your wife catches the iron cord on the handle and yanks it off the counter, it breaks into many many pieces, necessitating replacement. Perhaps next time around Braun can attach the base of the handle to the carafe itself, making such accidents less likely. ... Read more
