Using hot tap water and cleaning solution, the 12-amp Hoover SteamVac V2 deep cleans carpet fibers, tough stains, and upholstery. It is also suitable for tile, ceramic, marble, and linoleum floors (though not appropriate for hardwoods). Named for itsdual-nozzle construction, the cleaner provides efficient water removal and thorough edge-to-edge cleaning. The nozzle design forces hot air into the cleaning path and automatically rinses carpet clean on the backward pull. The SpinScrub brushes agitate ground-in dirt and can be turned off with a simple switch. Using a two-tank design that holds up to a gallon of water at a time, the cleaner automatically blends the cleaning solution, so you do not have to monitor it. Both tanks feature an enclosed design and convenient handles, making them easy to remove and transport. The recovery tank automatically shuts off suction when full and comes with a built-in lint screen. A removable view window on the nozzle lets you see dirty water returning to the machine.

For above-floor tasks, the cleaner comes with an 8-foot hose, a stair/upholstery tool, and a SpinScrub hand tool with rotating brushes. Conversion to tool cleaning is manual but quick, and you can remove the hose and tool caddy altogether for more streamlined use. The cleaner comes with a carrying handle, a 27-foot cord, quick-release cord hooks, and a foot pedal to release the handle. Fingertip switches and a trigger control the rinsing, washing, and Clean Surge functions. The removable brushes and a beltless design simplify maintenance. Hoover includes two 16-ounce bottles of detergent, one for carpet and one for bare floors, and backs up the machine with a full one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars MUCH better than expected
I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised with this machine. My wife and I have been researching deep cleaning machines for a while, and we have gone back and forth on a few different models. We have 2 very crazy dogs, both under a year old, and we have a very wet backyard. So, with spring (mud season) coming, we finally decided to stop comparing and just purchase something. We went to Home Depot, bought the cleaner for a whopping 300 bucks, and I must admit, being a pessimist, I was fully expecting the product to work just "okay". After some very easy assembly and reading of directions, we were ready to go. We started in our family room, which has a deep blue small pile carpet, and was just vaccumed about 2 hours before. There were 2 stains from dogs urinating on the carpet, where the previous cleaning attempts didn't work too well. We followed the directions to the letter, and about 15 minutes later the entire room (15x24) was completely clean. The carpet was back to it's original deep blue, the week-old urine stains were totally gone, and the water in the waste chanber was utterly disgusting (almost black). I was totally surprised that it cleaned as deeply as it did. The carpet was a little wet, but with a few extra passes, it got dry enough to walk on. About 4 hours later, it was completely dry to the touch. After the family room, we went to our bedroom, which has a very plush, thick pile khaki-colored carpet. It had multiple doggy vomit stains as well as one very nasty doggy diarrhea stain that just would not come out. Neither myself or my wife figured it would work all that well, but we gave it a shot. The 5 vomit stains, some about 4 weeks old and repeatedly worked over with a sponge, came out in 7-10 slow passes. The diarrhea stain came out after about 15-20 slow passes. Now, this used a ton of water, but all the stains came out completely. I was shocked. This product really works, if you give it time for deep stains. We have paid $150 for Stanley Steemer to do our carpets a few times, and I have to admit, I think the Hoover did a better job. We have only had it for a few weeks, but we have been totally satisfied. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons. The first is that you have to change the clean water, dirty water, and detergent tanks alot. When we were cleaning the family room, I think we had to change both the clean water and dirty water tanks 3 times, for a 15x24 room. The detergent tank (16 oz.) was empty at the end of cleaning the room. The second reason is that the Hoover does no better than a $5 mop for hard floors. We have both tile and hardwood floors, and we tried it on both. I was very unimpressed. DO NOT buy this product if want to clean your hard floors. ABSOLUTELY BUY THIS PRODUCT if you want extremely clean carpets, and total ease of use. It is fantastic.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this machine!!
Let's say carpet cleaning is NO my big thrill in life. I purchases a similar Eureka model. It was a bit more than the Eureka, but well worth every penny. I has a separate load for the soap, you fill with your own warm water in a nice large tank so you don't have to stop every 5 minutes and load. This permits you not only to clean the carpet, but rinse it so you don't have soap residue. It has a large easy to remove collection tank, easy to dump. It picked up three times the moisture from the carpet than the Eureka. When I cleaned with Eureka it took days for the carpet to be dry. With the Hoover the next day it was completely dry.

It was easy to push. I could clean a room in a matter of a few minutes. It promises deep cleans and it delivers. So forget about renting those back-breaking cleans that are cumbersome to use. Forget wasting money on ones that don't clean good or remove water from the carpet. Spend a little more and get the RIGHT STUFF!

5-0 out of 5 stars If it doesn't work right, it's you!
Read reviews b4 buying my Hoover SteamVac V2 and was hesitant because several owners reported it was garbage or prone to breakdowns. Researched all brands thoroughly and decided on this one. It is awesome. It took two minutes to prepare it for cleaning. Changes water very easily, and takes two minutes to clean it after use. No dripping hoses, no nozzles, connectors, or little parts that require dissasembling b4 putting it away. It was as easy as vacuuming and very effective. I had an old Bissell and seldom used it 'cause it was too cumbersome to put together and handle. As I get older I wanted something that was easy to get out and use, didn't require alot of physical strength or agility, AND THIS IS IT. I'll never have dirty carpets again!!

1-0 out of 5 stars 2nd time using -- just threw it in the trash
I have never been happier to throw something away than this piece of garbage. Unfortunately, I cannot return it since, assuming it was a quality product, I threw out the packaging and receipts after assembling and briefly testing it. It is a hassle to use (it will take you 10 times longer to clean than you can possibly imagine), does a pathetic job cleaning, and it leaks like crazy out of both the clean water reservoir and the dirty water reservoir. It goes through the VERY expensive soap so fast that it is an act of sheer stupidity to buy this thing instead of hiring professional cleaners (not to mention that many professionals now use non-soap cleaners that don't leave the caked-on-residue feeling on the carpet that this machine does). Plus, you have to apply protectant AFTER cleaning. NUTS! Don't bother with Bissell either, or any other manufacturer. I bought a Bissell canister model several years ago, and it was too much hassle to use. These machines are all clunky, slow, and do a very poor job. Professionals do a better job, are much faster, and are probably cheaper than buying huge volumes of soap.

1-0 out of 5 stars Prone to breakdowns
While the machine is effective at vacuuming, the machine has been a dud. I've used the machine four times and its already broken down two times. Once the spin brushes jammed and more recently, the top water tank seal broke. These problems seem common based on other reviews. I would avoid this product until Hoover fixes these issues. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Floormate
I had the old floormate model 3000 for 2 years..But the switch that controls the wash and dry vacuum would get stuck..and finally the vaccuum wouldn't dry up the foor or wet it.I bought the new 800 floormate and they redid the switch..made it a knob..which I think is better. The new floormate seems to work alot better..the base is a lot wider..and the attachments make it easiler to get into tight spaces like behind tables..The only thing is the cord gets in the way while cleaning..Otherwise it's great for tile floors.

4-0 out of 5 stars Dirty Floors No More!
I just got my SpinScrub 800 today (4-22-05)I have never had more fun cleaning my floors.I have over 600 sq ft of porceilin tile, the Floormate cleaned them all.

As for any new product make sure to read the manual to learn how to operate properly. At first I was using the wrong solution, and brushes. For tile you use the grout solution, and the grey spinscrub brushes.

I have all new tile that had a lot of grout residue, and the SpinScrub 800 took it almost all off. There were a few places that I had to use a rag to get up the heavy grout residue.Overall the machine worked graet.

I have not used the attachments yet, but plan to, and they look like they will do the small corners great.

I would have given it a 5 stars, but they scimped with the cleaning solution.Hoover only gives you two 8 oz bottles for $204.00.They should give you the 32 oz for that kind of money.

I used to use a Siffer Wet Jet, and this does a much better job.Not to mention that the FloorMate does all the work.No more pushing back, and forth (Hard on the Back).I had back surjury six months ago, and I need something that was going to easy to use in a physical sense. The SpinScrub 800 will definately do the job.

I was able to get the Top of the Line model for the same price as the middle model.Amazon had a $25.00 coupon, free shipping, and no tax.

2-0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, but doesn't do a great job.
The floormate 800 is very easy to use. You fill the clean tank with water and solution, turn it on and start scrubbing. However, the scrubbing brushes barely touch the floor. This machine does a great job on moderately dirty floors, but if there's any sort of heavy dirt - the floormate does not scrub it away.I've been using the floormate to do the general cleaning on my floors, but then I have to get on my hands and knees and manually scrub all of the tough stains. A Mr. Clean Magic Easer took out every stain that the floor mate could not.
As for the scrubbing attachments, they do work well (especially the grout tool) but they seem a liitle flimsy and I hope they last.

5-0 out of 5 stars Forget the mop and bucket this is so much better!
We're a 2 person 2 cat 1 wheelchair household. We track in a lot of dirt and mud (especially with my wheelchair). After reading the reviews on the Hoover H3000 Floormate, (pros and con's) we decided to go up one step as the info on the box mentioned many things that would have made even the people giving negative reviews on the 3000 Floormate happy. There is a new grout cleaner attachment and hose/extension wand attachment for vacuming and wet cleaning that works great. We don't have much grout, just in our bathroom. We do have sealed hard wood floors through most of the house and either tile or vinyl in the rest. All we want is to keep it clean with minimum work. The idea of mopping the old fashioned way just seems outdated and it really doesn't get things clean when you put dirty water back onto the floor. This though was a splurge - meaning it isn't necessary to life, it's a convenience.

Wow, are we impressed! We expected the vacuum to not be powerful but it is! It picked up everything, cat food, people food, cat hair, dust bunnies, cat litter, you name it. Then, you simply dump the dry crud out of the bottom refuse tank and add water and cleaner to the top tank. Then just wet clean. It's a fantastic change from lugging around a mop and bucket of any kind.It gets our floors squeeky clean and shiny. We both have asthma and THIS enables us to clean more often. We run it on dry almost every day and on wet a couple times a week at least, aside from picking up spills.I can't tell you what a change this is. We've gone from barely keeping up with the floors to a "eat off the floors mama would be proud" type of clean. Best part is it only takes about 10 - 15 minutes to complete both the vacuum and wet cleaning.

Perfectionist alert - We left our italian marble floors, perfect grout etc for the maid in our mansion in Florida. (joking) If you want perfection with grout or anything it takes more than any machine normally, it takes a person with a toothbrush you pay to clean it.Do yourself a favor and do what my grandmother did for 20 years and use a solution of bleach and water and just pour it on it, it gets white in a minute with no scrubing.Of course, colored grout is a different matter.

No machine will be perfect. This though does the job you buy it for - to clean floors. It's great for everyday normal families and anyone who doesn't expect perfection. As for the review before this one that says the suction is bad and the brushes don't work, they must have bought a defective machine because this one works perfectly and cleans great. We're never going back to mopping with a mop and bucket again.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in supposedly basic capabilities
I just purchased my Floormate 800 (3060) yesterday (March 23,2005) and used it the same day (was excited to test it out on my predominantly Italian porcelain tile/marble diamond living room/bathrooms).Even with the dial correctly in place, it did not suction in even lightweight dust balls or confetti. So I just manually swept the entire living room and performed the wash/scrub feature. It unfortunately did not scrub the floor stains well- I had to leave the vacuum on top of the stain fora longer period of time and apply pressure so the brushes can actually remove the stain (simple water stain). It appears there is not enough pressure applied by the spinning brushes onto the floor.I tried the neat grout tool with the Hoover grout cleaining solution - it didn't remove the grey water stain (from mopping)- my grout color is beige and was initially sealed. I'll try it again today - give it one more shot.It looks like a return.I hope Dyson can produce a similar vacuum that works. But Dyson is too expensive while the hose and plastic parts do not appear to resist wear and tear for long.I wish the hose was a little more thicker.I'm afraid the metal spring/coil in the plastic hose will readily wear the plastic hose out. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Cannot Live Without
After using this product for the past three months, I have decided that I could not live without it. I have tile floors in my kitchen and hallway - and the grout had become so dirty and I never felt that mopping was doing much more than redistributing the dirt. It is a pleasure to clean the floor with this machine! I use HOT water which really helps to kill the germs and by taking the dirty water up off the floor after it is scrubbed, it truly gets the dirt up and off the floor. Thirty years of dirt embedded into the grout is coming out - and my once blackened grout is now white again.

The other benefit of this is that the floor is dried almost instantly - which prevents my small children from slipping on a wet floor.

If this machine ever broke - I would replace it immediately. I put it in the same indispensible categories as my dishwasher, vacuum, and washer/dryer.

I recommend this machine - which is especially nice to be able to clean floors such as basement, garage, and other areas where a sink is not available to aid in mopping - besides, this gets it much cleaner.

4-0 out of 5 stars handy... but messy
My family has owned a Hoover FloorMate since March of 2002, and it has been a great investment. It's much easier than getting down on one's hands and knees to clean the floor. My mom, who is in a wheelchair, can run the machine if someone fills it for her and cleans it up afterwards. The floors in the house have never felt cleaner. Using it still feels almost novel even after a year and a half of use.

However, it's disgusting to clean out the dirty water (which I guess can be a good thing, as it means the machine is working). The filter gets dirty easily, as do the scrubbing bristles, and have to be cleaned out after every use. Sometimes the machine gets an odor that is reminiscent of wet dog. The dry pickup also does not work very well. It is usually much more efficient to sweep rather than use the dry pickup.

The pros definitely outweigh the cons, but this is a solid four-star performer: a better than average product, but not close to perfect.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Day my life Changed Forever.
I finally bought the Floormate after researching it for about a year. I have read many mixed reviews about it and decided to purchase it figuring I could return it if it was awful...nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Now I have A LOT of very shiny, smooth porcelain flooring throughout my new home that I would have to clean on my hands and knees; buffing each tile dry or I would get hazy, foggy streaks. It took me on average about 4 hours to get it perfect (and the kids, husband and dog approximately 4 minutes to dirty it up!)

I got it assembled no problem (all I needed was a screwdriver.) I loaded it up with water and vinegar (all I can use on this type of floor, besides white ammonia. ) I couldn't believe the job it did on my highly difficult floors. Beautiful, shiny clean floors! I was so excited I was screaming Thank you! Cleaning it up when I was through was a breeze. All the parts pop on/off for easy cleaning.

There are some downsides. NO, don't expect it to scrub the grout, it will reach down there but not very effectively. If your grout was gross like mine was, use baking soda and peroxide and several toothbrushes (or the Scum Buster, which I don't have, but I hear it has a grout attachment.) The Floormate also doesn't get into the corners/edges all that well (I just do minor touch-ups here and there when I am through.) Yes, it makes a loud noise like a vacuum. Big Deal. It does seem to go through a lot of solution and the canister is a little small, so expect to make a couple of trips to the sink to reload. Again, no big deal. No, it doesn't pick up big pieces of food or the like, but I wouldn't use it for that reason anyway, that's why I have a vacuum. It does pick up sand and dog hair and minor dirt, which are my main concerns. It also isn't very quick. To be effective, you have to move it slowly over the tiles (forward to clean, backward to dry.) It did, however, cut my torturous cleaning time in half (and saved my back.)

So goodbye (and good riddance) to all my old mops. Goodbye Clorox Readymop, Swiffer Wetjet, and the hideous, hated O'Cedar string mop and pail. I am in love with my new Floormate!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Manilow warned me that it sucks
This product sure tells a good story BUT...I ended up selling mine in a garage sale for $5!!! Not only did it not perform as promised, when I tried to clean the dirt sucked into the roller area, I couldn't get it out. Then it started making a squealing noise every time I turned it on. Hoover has lost their TRIED AND TRUE product status with me. This brand name will be the LAST one I look at for future purchases.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best!
I love this thing. Maybe the previous reviewers had defective machines. I think it is so easy to use, and my floors have never been so clean. I did the mop test too, where I cleaned the floors with a mop and then used my floormate, and you wouldn't believe what the mop has been leaving behind. I couldn't live without my floormate. ... Perfect for deep cleaning without excessive strain, the self-propelled Hoover WindTunnel Ultra upright takes charge of its own locomotion both coming and going. In addition, Hoover’s WindTunnel technology creates a powerful double air path for maximum suction and cleaning. The vacuum even provides feedback on cleaning progress with the Embedded Dirt Finder--a feature that scans the floor for debris, signaling you if there’s still dirt to be picked up. You can operate the Dirt Finder on a regular setting for your routine cleaning or on a high setting for your deep-cleaning sprees.

The WindTunnel Ultra is designed for both bare floors and carpets, with a 15-inch cleaning path and three adjustable nozzle heights to accommodate variation in carpet depth. Dirt collection is bagged using Hoover’s Microfiltration system, and a helpful indicator signal keeps you posted on the bag’s status. A HEPA filter assists the bag, trapping 100 percent of dust mites and 99.98 percent of ragweed and common grass pollens.

The vacuum comes handsomely equipped for attachment cleaning with a stretch hose, two extension wands, a crevice tool, an upholstery tool, and a dusting brush all on board. (The Dirt Finder does not work with the attachments.) The most rigorous attachment is a powered hand tool with its own rotating brushroll--great for carpeted stairs and durable upholstery. Other useful elements include quick-release cord hooks, a carrying handle, a headlight, and a view window over the brush roll. Hoover covers the machine with a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Thought it was good, but SO disappointing
I thought for the money this would be a good vacuum. Easy to push, suction to pick up cat hair and dust. Boy, was I wrong. The suction never really was that great, and the self-propel feature stopped working about 2 years after purchase. What a disappointment.

2-0 out of 5 stars Please withdraw my review
Please withdraw my review of this product (evh70) since, although I believed that is was accurated when I posted, I discovered that it contains errors.

1-0 out of 5 stars 9 months old - dead as a door nail
I picked one of these up August 2003 and I turned it on this afternoon: nothing happened. I checked the off/on switch with an ohm meter and it seems to be working. The "helpful" troubleshooting guide suggested that maybe there was a problem with my house's electrical system or that the cleaner I had not used for several days was overheated -- wrong! I suspect that the thermostat to detect overheating is broken. I agree with the other reviewers that the product is bulky, heavy and awkward. I cannot get in under the coffee table to clean because it is so large. It also tends to fall over when I use the applicances, also mentioned by another reviewer. The only really cool feature is the air-powered beater brush extension -- which I will not be using today because the Hoover does not suck...Avoid this over-priced piece of junk. Next time I will go with cannister vaccuum like the Kenmoore I had that lasted 15 years.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hoover - Good Performance
Have had this Hoover for over 2 years - purchased online. This Hoover has been a reliable product and has the best suction of any machine I have used/seen. My prior Eureka Christian Klingspore signature upright model had significant durability problems and not near the cleaning power which drove me to evaluate the Hoover based on the Consumer Reports rating. Am satisfied with its overall performance - good suction (not through the motor), good tool set with power brush, and is reasonably quiet, although it is a bit heavy (carry handle is conveniently placed).

Downside: When using the tools with the short hose, the vacuum tips too easily and can easily hit you, or nearby walls or furniture potentially causing damage (scratches/scuff marks).

I am satisfied with this product and would consider purchase of another many years from now, as all functions/features still work as when new.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst Vacuum Ever!
DO NOT BUY this vacuum. It needs the belt replaced every few weeks and constantly smells of burning rubber even when you have just replaced the belt. The roller bar constantly gets stuck. After about 10 minutes of vacuuming (if you can stand the burning rubber smell) the vacuum gets too hot and turns its self off. It is very heavy to lug up and down stairs and it doesn't get into the corner of the carpets at all. All I wanted was a good vacuum that would work and even if this vacuum was cheap (which it isn't) it is still the worst vacuum ever!!! ... Read more

This powerful home steam vacuum saves you the expense and hassle of having to rent a steam cleaner and keeps rugs, upholstery, and bare floors (other than hardwoods) looking like new. The powerful 12-amp motor combined with five spinning brushes that operate at either high or low speed lift the usual dirt and grime out of carpets. By pulling on the trigger in the comfortable upright handle, this deep cleaner releases the included carpet/upholstery cleaner and hot tap water. For more stubborn stains or for high-traffic areas, this SteamVac also has a Clean Surge feature, which sends an extra blast of cleaning solution into the stain by simply pressing a button on the handle. When cleaning is complete, release the trigger and the SteamVac forces hot air into the cleaning path so you can do a few dry strokes over the stain. This deep cleaner has two separate water tanks to keep clean water apart from dirty water. The top tank holds the detergent and 1 gallon of hot water and automatically mixes the two so you don’t need to get your hands wet. The lower tank holds the dirty solution picked up from the carpet and unlatches to easily pour out into a sink without spilling.

For cleaning stairs or upholstery, this deep cleaner has a long 8-foot hose and a special stair/upholstery nozzle that scrubs out spots. Other attachments include a bare floor nozzle and a powered hand tool that is also ideal for upholstery or small carpet areas. All tools are mounted on the front of the vac in a handy case. Other features of this deep cleaner include a brush indicator, which informs you that the brushes are spinning; an on/off foot pedal; a handle release pedal; and a 27-inch wraparound cord. The Hoover SteamVac is covered by a full one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac is awsome machine
Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac is the best. I had Regina SteamCleaner for about 9 years until I bought Hoover F5914-900 yesterday. Hoover is made in USA and the quality shows in overall design and operation. This is as close as it gets to the Hoover pro machine I rented once that sells for $1099. Amazing cleaning power with 12amp motor and ease of operation. Quality heavy duty durable plastics used, makes it a better value all together. Consumer product still made in USA, not China or Mexico is worth the price tag itself, you will not find a better value in this price range. I looked at Bissell machines also but did not like its overall design, somewhat cheap thin shiny plastic look and low web review ratings.

Use as directed with hot water to loosen the dirt, and go slow give the machine chance to break the dirt and suck it out from the rug. Tanks are smaller than in the pro machine, but machine is lighter and smaller than $1099 Pro Hoover SteamVac monster.

1-0 out of 5 stars Only worked once
Because my Hoover, Model F5866-900, very similar to this one, had such poor relaiability, and, the machine only worked fair one time, then didn't work right again, I vowed to insure people knew they had better use the machine a lot during the first year after purchase. It was unfortunate, but after doing a thorough cleaning, I had my carpets professionally cleaned six months later, and didn't get back to the Hoover for over a year. I would have had to schlep it 200 miles to their service center, and then pay again for a machine that was pretty bad by my estimation. One use is pretty expensive.

5-0 out of 5 stars awesome
Let me say that I have never written an online review before, but this product merits it. I borrowed this cleaner from a friend. We have a beige colored carpet and have never cleaned it in 3 years. I thought it wasn't that dirty because we remove our shoes in the house. Well, this vacuum made me realize that it was really dirty. I put hot water in and did not use cleaner(Ididn't want to leave a residue). I went to work. It does a great job of sucking up the majority of the water. The spin brushes made my carpet stand up and look newer again. I did pre treat the bad spots, but it got up most of the small spots on it's own. I thought it was easy to fill and empty. The reward I got from looking at all that grimey water was all the reward I needed. Needless to say, I will be purchasing this from Amazon. My friend has had it for 2 years and uses it all the time. So will I.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Vacuum!!!
I purchased the Hoover steam vac to help clean up all the puppy stains in my carpet. I have tried those portable vacuums that you can get in the pet shops, I must say this hoover vacuum did wonders for my floors and stairs. It is very easy to use while cleaning. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because it is hard to take the canisters off and put back on for dumping and filling. I would defentley recommend this product over those portable vacuums.

5-0 out of 5 stars Run - Don't Walk and get this machine
I have two dogs and messy people in our home. After contacting a local carpet cleaner to do a wool area rug I have at the exhorbitant price of $180, I decided that for that price, I could get a steam cleaner and do it myself. I did a lot of research before getting this.

What a great machine this is because of the turbo brushes. They get deep down into the fibers and really scrub and clean the rug. The colors popped as if new again. I did every rug in the house. I too boiled some the water I added to the machine so it would stay hot while I worked. It is pretty easy to set up and use as well.

To the person who gave this a bad rating I say " This is not a Vacuum Cleaner." This is a carpet steamer/cleaner. You have to vacuum your rugs BEFORE your clean them..... Read the instructions.

I think you will use and like this machine and be very glad you got one. ... Read more

Hoover’s latest canister stands out for its design-savvy looks, not to mention the fact that it cleans with powerful WindTunnel technology. Dirt particles are cleverly ducted away from the spinning agitators to ensure they’re captured in the bagless dirt cup and not sent back out onto the carpet. The HEPA filter traps minute allergen particles and conveniently removes for cleaning. Large, soft wheels allow the compact 12-amp vacuum--which looks like it could play a robot extra in Star Wars--to maneuver easily. Best of all, the handgrip features electronic control buttons for power on and off, variable suction (allowing smooth transition from wood floors to area rugs), and agitator action speed for carpets. Tools are easily attached to the telescoping wand, making it a snap to switch from cleaning floors to using drape and upholstery tools. 5-0 out of 5 stars Fab Light canister vacuum
We just got this today and it took a couple of minutes to put it together and it is SUPER FAST. It works so well and is so light. Even our 7 year old daughter tried it out and liked it :)

It changed from the carpet setting to hardwood floor with ease. It also has a suction control button. The attachment for our stairs (we have a three storey house) is fantastic. It has the option to have the brush rotate or not just like the usual floor attachment. Very easy to change attachments.

Very happy with this purchase so far. It is day 1, though.... ... Read more

A high-powered vacuum for high traffic areas, this 12 amp Hoover WindTunnel V2 upright delivers efficient design and versatile performance. The machine features a special duct system to prevent dirt from returning to the floor, and its dual air path suction and side groomers deliver optimum edge cleaning. Adjustable for bare floors and three levels of carpet, the floor nozzle has a 15-inch cleaning path and double brush rolls to get at the dirt between carpet fibers. The vacuum is conveniently bagless and collects debris in a generously sized double-sided dirt cup. A screen between the chambers keeps large particles on one side, sending small debris and dust into the second chamber where it's trapped in the HEPA filter. When the dirt cup is full, sliding it out and emptying it is simple, thanks to the sturdy handle and secure lid. The cup's HEPA filter can be tapped clean to extend its life, while the machine's prefilter and exhaust filter can be hand washed for repeated use.

For above-floor and spot cleaning, the vacuum comes with a ready-to-go hose and onboard attachments, including an extension wand, two crevice wands in different lengths, a dusting brush, and an upholstery tool. These are stored in side clips and a tidy front hatch. Beltless for easy maintenance, the vacuum also includes helpful extras, including quick-release cord hooks, a carrying handle, a 31-foot power cord, nonmarring wheels, a furniture guard, and a headlight. The power switch is in the handle, and the three handle positions are controlled with a foot pedal. Hoover backs up this unit with a full one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great vacuum!
I just received this vacuum today, and have already worn myself out cleaning with it! It was time to upgrade the vacuum--the old one had had it. With a new baby on the way, we knew we had to make the investment. We decided to try Hoover's latest model. I have a Hoover SteamVac and have been happy with Hoover's quality and reputation.

The V2 is fantastic so far. It is a little hard to push on carpet on the lowest setting, but I attribute this to the powerful suction and will deal with it because it's getting my carpet clean! I have a large amount of tile floors, and it works wonderfully on them as well (you just turn off the rollers with the touch of a button). It also glides really well on hard surfaces. The non-marring "soft wheels" are great! No more thick plastic wheels that are noisy as you roll them or to scratch surfaces.

I've tried out the various attachments, and the suction is fantastic! I cleaned the stairs with the upholstery tool, and used the crevice tools with great success. I love the way the tools are conveniently stored, but out of the way when you're not using them.

You can push the foot pedal to make the vacuum lie completely flat to get underneath furniture, etc. Emptying the dust bin and filter is really easy too. The other great thing is that it doesn't fill up really quickly. I've vacuumed almost the entire house without ever reaching anywhere near the capacity of the dust bin, although I emptied it anyway just to have it completely empty.

In short, if you're considering making an investment in a new vacuum, you can't go wrong with this Hoover. It makes cleaning so much easier!

3-0 out of 5 stars Awesome but LOUD
PROS: Great Cleaning Power
HEPA Filter
No bags or belts to buy
No 1-800 customer service
Roller on-off switch not easily accessible

I bought this vacuum after trying out a friend's Windtunnel that worked very well. I decided to go with the V2 after much research because of the beltless feature. I unpacked the vacuum put it all together (VERY easy, even my husband could do it). I vacuumed my living room with my old vacuum and then with the new one and got up so much dog hair, dust and carpet fiber! I thought this thing is awsome, but a little loud. After vacuuming the whole downstairs of my house I just couldn't take it anymore, the thing was shrieking like a banshee! I tried changing the hieght settings and it didn't help. It must be the gear system because it only does it when the brush rolers are on.

I called customer service this am (another problem - no toll free number and the website's no help) and explained the vacuum was whining loudly - is this normal? She states " Well the gears do whine a little bit." I said " NO, this is very loud." She says "Yes it is a little loud." Needless to say, I returned it this morning.

Also, while the on-off brush feature is nice, it is hard to get to. It is down on the front of the vacuum with the carpet height adjustment, and both swithches are recessed in to a hollow, so you can't use your foot. So you have to bend over every time you go from carpet to hard floor.

If you can live with the loudness and bending over, this vacuum cleans great! But this wasn't the vacuum for me!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wedding gift makes complete "sweep"
Bought as a wedding gift and the Bride is thrilled with it. I, personally wouldn't want a "bagless" vaccuum - seems like it wouldn't clean as well, but I could be wrong, lol.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money!
My husband and I registered for this vacuum for our wedding and I wish we had read the reviews beforehand because it was terrible from day one! First of all, it's so heavy I refuse to use it for fear of hurting my back and because it's aggravating. Of course that leaves it up to my husband to vacuum. You can imagine how often it gets done!

His complaints: It CONSTANTLY shuts down which means it can take the whole day to vacuum even our little apartment. The main vacuum head doesn't pick up anything, so you wind up on your hands and knees trying to vacuum a big area with a little attachment. It's difficult to empty because the canister is hard to get in and out of its holder. Also, the HEPA filter clogs very easily and the tank must be emptied when it gets about half full or the vacuum power just gets even worse & it'll just shut down. We have only one cat, but it doesn't even take care of his fur. Even after we vacuum if you lean down to look across the carpet you can see a thin layer of cat hair. It's as if you did nothing all day in spite of all the aggravation you went through to try to get the thing to work in the first place!

We will NEVER purchase another HOOVER product! In fact, we're getting a Dyson -this time we read the reviews.

1-0 out of 5 stars No bargain
In less than a year, the brushes had to be replaced twice because the interior was plastic and quickly stripped out. Now the lever that adjusts the height will not remain in place and to fix it the entire body has to be replaced. Though it cleaned well, the breakage is unforgivable. My grandmother and mother are using their very old, very original models while my "modern" version is headed for the junk heap.

Another once-respected name sold out to plastic. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Full steam ahead!
I was shopping for a carpet steam cleaner for two main reasons: 1 - my kids were making messes all over the rugs in the house, and 2 - I always seem to be cleaning up the carpets in my cars fairly often. I needed something that was portable enough to let me room the house in search for stains and I also needed something that didn't require a hot-water hookup so I could use it in the garage. This little unit fits the bill perfectly. My wife & I are totally amazed at how well it removes stains (we were able to shampoo out a 4 month old orange juice stain on the carpet that endless hand-scrubbing couln't budge). Some people might be skeptical about not having a hot-water hook up, but I just get the hottest tap water I can find and then go right to work. This little machine did wonders in the cars removing grease and oil stains from the floor mats! I love this machine!

3-0 out of 5 stars Works very well on small jobs, like spots. Extremely LOUD.
If your goal is to remove the occasional spot, and even clean an occasional small piece of upholstered (water-safe) furniture, this machine really really works.

I got the Steamvac Jr. to clean up small stains left by my dog, who likes to chew treats on our off-white carpet, and who spends hours each day on our beige sofa. Wow, it really removes the spots! In fact it cleans so well, it actually leaves "clean spots" behind so I have to avoid over-cleaning for fear of drawing attention to the place.

I even used the machine to clean a sofa, which is very very time consuming because the machine has a tiny business end, but it did a great job.

Don't be misled by the name. This machine does NOT heat water into a blast of steam. It simply sprays on hot tap water (and detergent) that you pour in; then it vacuums it back out, along with the dirt. It's a small, easily carried spray & vac machine -- not a boiler.

The machine is offensively loud. It seems to me like the people designing it must not have cared for even a moment how loud it was -- like they weren't even trying to be civil or responsible. Since it takes quite a few minutes to clean a large item (say, a chair) with the teeny little washing head, the noise is a problem. I actually put on hearing protection when operating it for long.

But hey, the machine really really works, and it'll pay for itself the first 1-2 times you use it. I'm glad I bought it. Just remember to protect your hearing.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Cleaner for the Money
I just got this today to clean up a mess my cat made on my couch. Like other reviewers said, this does NOT create steam, but instead uses hot tap water (I'm not sure why they named it "Steamvac").It worked well and cleaned up the spots on my couch. There was plenty of dirty water in the recovery tank, which proves that it does suction. Many small cleaners like this spray solution on, but don't suction it back out.

I didn't think it was overly loud, considering it is a vacuum. It is very light and easy to carry. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars is because it doesn't have a rotating brush to help scrub out stains. Of course, I knew this when I bought it, but it would've been a nice feature.

5-0 out of 5 stars SUPER - STEAMVAC
I just received the Hoover Steamvac and used it today on my sofa. WOW! it worked great and it does indeed have great suction, which you need to pull the dirty water out of the fabric. I will recomend it to my family.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I bought this item based on the mostly glowing reviews posted & was totally excited to use this for existing stains/future stains. We too are a multiple pet household. I am returning it today. As other ppl. did , I tried it on old stains-- they are still there. I tried it on some week old coffee droplets-- they are still there. I am going to stick with Resolve/Spot Shot & a little elbow grease. This machine was completely underwhelming. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Happy Deliveres What Promissed
Very impressed with the suction, and the filtration. Love the way you can turn the roller brush on/off with a easy to use handle switch. I have always been a canistor user and found the Hoover to exceed my needs. You can use either filtration or regular replacement bags. It's peace of mind to know that Hoover
remains the only manufacturer of Vacuums Cleaners in the US that have their own Factory Repair Centers and great service after the sale. They are also located in the Internet. Try finding that when you buy a Fantum or Regina. I did and they're a joke.

1-0 out of 5 stars Run, don't walk, away from this stinker!!
What a dissapointment! This vacuum was good for about two weeks, now the rubber belt has stretched and it will not spin the brush-bar. The hose from the cannister to the wand attachment is too short, so I am constantly hauling the cannister towards me. Also if you want to vacuum blinds, you have to lift the entire cannister off the floor with your other hand - not convenient. The bag is small and requires replacement often. It is easy to move from carpet to bare floor, but all the other problems make this a poor choice. Too bad, my twenty-year-old hoover worked better. This one is headed to the landfill.

3-0 out of 5 stars plastic not durable
I have owned the S3630 for 3 years. Performance is OK. BUT shortly after I got it the plastic handle clip broke, then the headlight bulb went and I couldn't find a replcement in any store. Next the 2 small wheels on the motorized power head kept falling off (they seem to just clip into the plastic and won't stay put). Also if you try to buy replacements for the dust filters, you're out of luck, unless you special order from Hoover and who needs the hassle? It cleans well on the whole. I do find that dog hair tends to cling (thro. static) to the body and power head and is hard to remove. It's a pricey disappointment!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but could be much better
I had the next model down Hoover Windtunnel S3630. I think the main difference between the S3639 and S3630 is that the Plus model has the mini power hand tool. We had the vacuum for a little less than a year. The machine had all the good features: on/ off switch for power nozzle, 4 main attachments, added filter for better filtration, covered tool storage, doubled brushed edge cleaning along with special edge groomers- this makes it a little harder to push but it does an excellent job along walls. The machine was convenient to use it had very good suction for cleaning and a high speed power brush that deep cleaned. I don't know why this is but the vacuum was moody, somedays it cleaned well, and others it seemed like I was sweeping the carpet and not sucking up. The vacuum would leave a line of dog hair behind the nozzle entrance that was visible upon moving the power head forward. We did everything: new bags, new belts, checked the brushes, and since it was under warranty we took it to the Hoover Service Center but they found nothing wrong with it. Our cheaper model the Hoover Powermax cleaned hair much better. You could tell that it was deep cleaning like the windtunnel design is supposed to help with but it was cleaning the dog hair. After getting tired of it not getting hair we returned to the company and got our money back, Hoover was very cooperative customer service wise. We now have a Hoover Powermax Runabout that works very well and cost ... less. See my report under the Powermax Deluxe S3607. Our windtunnel might have been a lemon but don't know can't really recommend unless you have hard floors or need a good attachment canister.

1-0 out of 5 stars Too much plastic and poorly designed
Well, I expected a better quality machine from Hoover. Plastic wheels and axles, plastic hinges on the lids and suspiciously weak plastic latches on the wands. I don't expect these to last much beyond the warranty period, if that long. The headlight does not illuminate the floor. The hose connector on top of the machine does not even begin to swivel smoothly. It tends to bind, causing the vacuum to wander erratically everytime the hose is moved. The lack of a swivel mechanism on the tool end is also unfortunate because this almost guarantees that the hose will kink, twist and try to tie itself into knots. There is a strange preset angle moulded into the hand grip (remember it does not swivel). This makes for unnatural and uncomfortable arm and wrist positions while maneuvering various cleaning attachments into position. To be fair the suction power appears to be very good. I wrote to Hoover voicing my concerns (in far greater detail than this review) but only received a form letter that did not address any of my issues. If a product is "Made in USA", then it seems fair to expect better quality. ... Read more

This lightweight (10-pound), 205-watt machine keeps a house spiffy in a myriad of ways. Snap scrub brushes onto its two power shafts and it scours hard floors. With three sets of pads, it will then wax, buff, and polish those same floors. In carpeted areas, snap on two shampoo brushes and get the carpets deeply clean. For floors that can be cleaned with water, and for carpets, a removable 1-gallon tank serves for mixing water and floor cleaner (a 16-ounce bottle is included) or water and rug-and-carpet shampoo (a 16-ounce bottle is included) that is then dispensed using a finger trigger. The machine is 43 inches high, has a handle hole for hanging in a closet, and assembles with a single nut and bolt (which are included). An accompanying booklet provides instructions for cleaning and polishing various hard floors and carpets by using different materials and methods. 5-0 out of 5 stars great rug shampooer
This machine is great. A child can use it. It was very easy to put together. Less then 5 minutes. I have 3 cats, a dog and 3 teenage girls that have friends over all the time. They all spill on my carpets and forget to clean up. My carpets had so many stains. I used this machine with the stiffest brushes and man did it get the stains out. I was amazed. I had a hoover once before and it did a great job. I was concerned this time because the unit was smaller. But it did the job just as well. I am very happy with this unit and would advise anyone to use it.

4-0 out of 5 stars could have used more info before I bought
The machine is very light, easy to set up and use, but the waxing, buffing and polishing that I wanted to do on my kitchen floors can ONLY BE DONE ON WOOD FLOORS, which I don't have. The instructions say it CANNOT be used on 'no wax floors"!(I tried it-took the shine off) The ads state you can wax and polish 'hard floors', which I took to mean non carpeted areas, so I probably would not have purchased it if I had known. There is no water extractor, so it's not good for large carpet areas. It will stay wet a LONG time. For just floor scrubbing, it's great! Light, easy, etc as above. Couldn't ask for an easier, lighter machine -- if only I could use it for more tasks!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lasted Many Years
My mother bought one of these way back in the 70s! It performed flawlessly for over 20 years and let me tell you, it's been through some pretty rough times. It's been knocked down a flight of stairs, accidently stepped on and tripped over, banged into walls and radiators, flipped over a banister and fell about 15 feet to the floor, and the worst time, my mother literally strangled my sister after she borrowed it for her apartment. It was 1984 and she had just moved into the apartment. She said she needed it to shampoo the carpets real bad cause' they were filthy. But apparently after she shampooed them she decided she didn't like the color of the carpets. So she filled up the tank with navy blue dye and turned it on. She was successful at dying all of the carpets navy blue but the entire base/bottom, scrub brushes, and the tank were permanently stained blue. My mother pulled up in the driveway one day to find the thing sitting on the porch. After seeing the condition it was in she had a nervos breakdown and brought it inside. She immediatly called my sister and caused one of the worst fights between them ever. Saying that she must "have a screw loose", she's "off her rocker", etc. etc. My sister didn't talk to her for weeks and in the meantime my mother was nagging constantly and telling the whole town about what her daughter had done to her Hoover Carpet Shampooer Machine. The day that it happened, my Aunt was visiting and they tried to clean it and removed massive amounts of dirt clumps and cat hair from the scrubber area. For weeks I never heard the end of her nagging and swearing over the whole ordeal. But it still worked perfectly for many years to come! The blue stains faded over time and my mother and sister are close again. But my mother hesitates whenever she asks to borrow anything! Sadly, the mighty maching performed it's last shampoo job the other day straining to finish the job so it could finally rest in peace after it's long, hard knock life. It was a good carpet machine and will be greatly missed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Machine to have!
We got ours about a week ago and spent this past weekend scrubbing our dining room/kitchen floors- self-stick tiles. Awesome job, only took about 2 hrs of slow careful scrubbing, the machine does ALL the work, you only have to move it back and forth and mop up. Should've invested in this a long time ago, sure helped make our floors shine!

5-0 out of 5 stars Supreme Dream
I just noticed on the bottle of bare floor cleaner that came with this machine that you CAN use this machine on linoleum, tile, ceramic, no wax floors, etc. You can't use on wood flooring (what I thought you could only use the bare floor items on). That makes this machine even better! I love the lightweight feature of this machine and how well it cleans my carpets. I have never used the bare floor function because I thought it was for hard wood flooring only. A little bit of water will sling out onto the bottom of your furniture when you use the carpet shampooer if you get really close to the furniture. Other than that, this has been a supreme dream! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars works great cleaning pool deck
I had some doubts about buying this based on how it looks - but it is terrific. It used to take us about an hour to clean our relatively large pool deck of concrete pavers with a push broom - it now takes about 15 minutes with this tool and it does a better job. Well worth the purchase price

5-0 out of 5 stars Works on all kinds of textured surfaces
This thing is great, I'm so shocked that something so clever actually lives up to its description. I have several different huge areas around my house, a driveway the size of a basketball court (smooth surface)--worked great, a verandah with a small pebble surface--could never get it clean with those industrial brooms--spinsweep picked up sooo much grit and dirt I didn't even know was there-then finally as I live in Seattle, we have a textured coating on our decks for non-slip surface, great idea but a pain to keep swept, spinsweeper saved the day again. Also it's light weight! Helpful reminder: Make sure you follow directions and keep it stored with the undercarriage brushes upright so you don't wear them down.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great by our pool! We have pavers...
Our patio is made up of pavers and I was not sure how this would work, but IT WORKS GREAT!! It picks up fine sand and rocks. My 2 year old even likes to push it around. It is easy to put together and easy to clean out. Much easier than sweeping.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome as always thanks Hoover
just recieved mine today...what an incredible machine. Even sucks up dead frogs!!! (have two cats) In 20 minutes I de-dirted my driveway, three large sidewalks, a carport floor, and a garage. Works just like the street sweepers without the noise. I highly recommend.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love it!
This little sweeper is the best thing since sliced bread! I ordered one after seeing it mentioned in the gardening section of the paper, but was skeptical that it would really work as advertised. I have a large stable with a very wide concrete aisle that must be swept daily, so it gets some serious use. It works soooo good! The brushes pick up debris and dust and even the dead lizards the barn cats bring in. It is easy to push and easy to empty the container, so that you can dispose of the material where you want, without having to use the dustpan. It has cut my sweeping time down by 75% and does a better job than a broom.
My friends that have tried it have all loved it, and are going to order one too. Hoover needs to market this thing to horse owners!
I have also used it on my garage and patio with the same great results. ... Read more

Vacuuming becomes a pleasure, not a chore, with this self-propelled bagless upright.A special switch activates the self-propel function, allowing the vacuum to glide with little effort over floors and carpet. The function may be switched off for greater control in tight spaces, such as under tables or chairs. A separate but stored-on-board power hand tool is perfect for cleaning carpeted stairs and upholstery; it simply attaches to the vacuum hose, which stretches to five times its length and gains further reach with the included extension wands (an additional 20-foot hose can be purchased separately). Other tools include a dusting brush for books, lamps, and blinds; a furniture nozzle for upholstered furniture, drapes, clothing, and automobile interiors; and a crevice wand for edges along baseboards, dressers, and between sofa cushions. The height of the cleaner can be adjusted for use on both thick carpet and wood or linoleum floors, and a headlamp illuminates dark areas under furniture and in closets.

Dust and dirt are suctioned up thoroughly with this powerful12-amp vacuum. The patented WindTunnel technology with dual air stream and special ducts ensures that particles aren’t sent back out onto the floor but are captured by three filters. The pre-filter screens larger particles, the HEPA cartridge traps tiny particles of allergens such as dust mites, grass pollen, and ragweed, and the final filter assists in returning clean air to the room. The pre-filter and HEPA cartridge can be removed for periodic cleaning, though the HEPA will need to be replaced every three years or so. To empty the dirt cup, simply remove, shake contents into a trash bin, and press back into place. A one-year warranty covers the vacuum against defects. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great machine!
I bought this just today, so if something happens adversely in the future, I'll update my review. However, just for today, I am DELIGHTED with this machine. Very powerful suction, and the "bagless" feature allows you to see exactly how dirty your carpet really is! We vacuum regularly (2-3 times weekly) , but this machine picked up almost a full cannister of carpet fluff, plus about 1/4 cup of gritty dirt, just from the living room. The machine I had been using was anotherr Hoover upright, about 4 years old, but half the amperage of the new model. I decided to replace it because I wanted to try a bagless model.
The dirt collection/filter cannister is quite easy to remove and, since it's transparent, it makes it quite easy to see when you need to empty it. I look forward to saving $$$ on vacuum bags!
The "self-propulsion" feature is nice and does make a difference.
The attachments (hand tools) are good, especially the powerbrush. A nice feature is that you don't have to readjust the machine to "hard floor" setting from "carpet" when using the handtools--a convenient change from the other upright vacuums I've owned.
My reason for not giving this model four stars instead of five was in the relative awkwardness of using the handtools with this upright--but that is probably going to be true with any upright. Hoover offers the option of purchasing an extension to the hose, so I might try that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Makes a chore almost fun
Yeah, running the vacuum is not a fun activity, but this thing makes it a bit more endurable. The results are certainly worth it. If having a clean home is important, this machine is a good choice. Picks up more dirt and dust than any damn cleaner I've ever used before. Only thing is, the dirt container and filters need cleaning out frequently, nearly every time you do a complete house. Personally, I don't mind this in the interest of getting everything really clean, but some users may find this not to their liking. The attachments are no more difficult to use than any other upright I've owned, and I especially like the powered hand tool, particularly for automobile interiors and luggage compartments. As vacuum cleaners go, a gem. The self-propelled feature is a real asset as well. This is not a svelte upright, but easy to use taking that into account. The cleaning path is a full 15". Recommended, with the above mentioned caveat.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hoover is by far the best!
My Eureeka vacuum died after only three years, so in search of a better, more reliable vacuum, I stumbled acroos the Hoover bagless model. What a huge difference! I was horrified to see what this vacuum actually picked up from my carpets! The amount of dust/pet-hair/dirt was staggering, and it had only been three days since I had previously used the old vacuum! Obviously this vacuum is in a whole different league than my other one! I also own a hoover steam vac and have had incredible results with that as well. Needless to say, my new and ONLY brand of vacuum related products will be Hoover!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Works well, but it's huge
I bought this vacuum because the reviews were good and I wanted a vacuum that would work well and last a long time. I was surprised how big it was when it arrived--very awkward to carry the box up to my 4th floor apartment. The first thing I did with it was to vacuum the area rug in my living room. The amount of cat hair and dust that it picked up was amazing--I was serioiusly "grossed out" by the amount of stuff in the container. The problem with this vacuum is that it is just so big and heavy. I live in a city apartment with hardwood floors and I have alot of furniture and "stuff" everywhere because I don't have any storage. This vacuum doesn't fit under the bed, under furntiture, around stuff. I've decided to return it and get a canister instead (probably a Hoover windtunnel).

5-0 out of 5 stars Mismcj
I have had this vacuum for about a month and absolutely love it. I have a dog and am able to pick up hair that I never even thought was there. I highly recommend this to anyone in search of a vacuum. It truly lives up to its ratings. ... Read more

With its low-profile, power-nozzle design, this ultra-quiet bagless canister easily cleans in tough-to-get-at places like under the bed, couch, or coffee table. Its wide 15-inch nozzle cleans more carpeting per stroke than a traditional 12-inch nozzle, while edge groomers mounted on either side of the nozzle help loosen dust, dirt, and unsightly lint that collects along baseboards. Its patented WindTunnel technology uses computer-designed air ducts to provide a powerful dual-air stream, enhancing its ability to pick up dirt. Instead of bags, the vacuum uses a transparent cup, which is easily removed and emptied for quick dirt disposal. Multiple stages of filtration include its first-stage filter, which is in the dirt cup and traps most dust and allergens. Additional levels of filtration are located after the dirt cup to trap additional debris that may have escaped the first filter. The final filter is a HEPA allergen filter. For convenience, the unit's deluxe pump-handle provides remote fingertip control for variable motor-speed settings and brush roll "on/off," while an easy-to-use foot-pedal quickly rewinds the 22-foot cord. Attachments include a six-foot hose, telescopic chrome wands, a crevice tool, dusting brush, and filter cleaning brush.
