Works Great but Be Careful
I bought this air purifier when Jenn-Air had the license. I had the run-around when it broke down almost two years after I bought it. The servicing was by a company called ClareVale (sp?)and they had no intention of helping me. Luckily I bought from a great store in NYC and they replaced it so I bought another one to have two total. When I needed more collection sheets two years later (each lasts one month), I couldn't find them anywhere and the units weren't sold at the store anymore. Now I understand why I couldn't find collection sheets this past year, the license was being switched to a different company! Thank god I held onto the purifier. Unfortunately Amazon isn't selling extra sheets but I found them somewhere else online ...
The quality of this purifier is excellent! I do however strongly caution anyone who uses it to keep it at a minimum of one foot from any wall or anything else because it will leave a black ring around the unit and could possibly ruin a nice paint job or good wallpaper since it does not come off easily. (I have an air conditioning unit that will never be the same).
I highly recommend this machine for its quality and huge difference it made on my breathing, but I cannot give it 5 stars because of all the hassle I had with it. Since this is a new company (Hoover), maybe there will be an improvement in service and maybe bring some stability, but the collection sheets are too expensive now.
ps Be careful to keep the dial on the correct strength for the room size, if it is too high you will get a distinct "ozone" smell.

Perfect!
For years now, I have become congested and have had difficulty breathing every time I go to bed. I have tried every kind of allergy medication, prescription nasal sprays etc. I even recently had nasal surgery to help the problem. But nothing really helped UNTIL I purchased the Hoover SA4000 Air Purifier. Now, when I wake each morning, I am completely UNgongested and breathe very clearly. Additionally, I now enjoy better nights' sleep and lack the sinus headache that I commonly had before I purchased the air purifier. It is everything that Hoover advertises and I like the idea of replacing the collection sheets (which the Hoover uses)rather than just wiping a collection plate clean as one would do with the more expensive Sharper Image air purifier. Since the collection sheets even collect bacteria, the idea of throwing it away is a lot more appealing than that of wiping a collection plate clean and possibly leaving some yukky contaminates behind. my nice little Hoover
For its size, weight, and price, this is a mighty fine cleaning device. I live with 2 indoor cats, so it not only has to deal with lots of fur, but those pesky little grains of sand that seem to travel far from the litter pan...and it does a good job with both.

The plus factors are: It hangs in my broom closet taking up very little space, it's incredibly light, the cord is long enough to reach many areas, it works equally well on carpeting or the kitchen/bathroom flooring, the nozzle is thin and mobile enough to clean corners and tight spaces, and most of all (and this is a big item for me and my four-pawed friends), the sound is tolerable for our sensitive ears.

Yes, you have to invert the filter and clean it, but it's a sturdy one (and washes well if you want to), and if done carefully with a paper towel is an easy enough procedure...it also amazes me how much finds its way into the filter, proof that this handy Quick-Broom is doing its job.

Not bad but.......
This was easy to assemble, isn't that noisy and is easy to manuver. It works great on hardfloors but is terrible on carpeting. I have 2 dogs (1 is a collie with real long fur). It just pushed the fur around on carpets if it did anything at all. Then I had to use hose to suck up the small clumps on carpet. We bought this as a quick supplement to the "real" vacuum we already have. Its is being returned to the store as we speak. Its unfortunate because its a great little vac on floors...its just the carpet that it really does next to nothing on. If all you have is hardfloors then this would be a great value for the money. If you have carpets then you want to keep looking...its just not going to do the job. :(

Not for carpets with hair
This little vacuum is not useful if there is hair(human) spread on the carpet. We have to manually remove the hair after vacuuming.
Not only that, the accessories do not serve the purpose as the hose is very short.
I don't recommend this product for anybody.

Two stars is generous for this vacuum
I received this item last year as a Christmas gift. I had specifically asked for this electric broom since I had done some research on-line and this one sounded the best. I have five pugs and they shed 365 days a year! Some days they shed like ten pugs, it is very frustrating because the hair is always there. I needed an easy to use vacuum since we only have a central vac system in our house.
At first I thought this product was great and easy to use. But the more I used it the more frustrated I got. The hose attachment is so inconvenient to use. Plus it could be about 3 feet longer to reach anything important. I found myself having to hold the elec-broom up off the ground to reach some cobwebs in a corner. It is light but cumbersome to have to lift and vacuum with. It would be nice if the unit could stand on it's own. If you have to stop for a second to move something you basically have to lay the unit on the floor.
It also doesn't reach underneath any type of furniture. Plus the way the front release is positioned it is in the right spot to have the overhang on the bottom of my kitchen cabinets hit it and make the filter become unhooked.
I found it annoying to have to empty the filter so often and the vacuum got pretty dingy and dirty itself. The button that allows you to turn off the brush is located at foot level which makes you think you can use your foot to turn it on and off. It took a few months but the switch broke quickly (luckily my husband is handy and he was able to fix it). Now I have to be very careful when I use the switch.
At this time I find myself looking for a new unit. One that can do the job I need. If you have pets that shed a lot and want to use an electric broom daily, I wouldn't waist my time or money with this vacuum.

A must for pet owners with wood floors and shedding issues
I have a dog that seems to do nothing but eat, sleep and SHED. I have looked everywhere for a product that is lightweight and easy to use to pick up the hair that seems to get into everything. Magnetic brooms are okay but the hair is very light and fine and most of it just gets stirred up. My apartment has hardwood floors and this is PERFECT for them. It is so lightweight and easy to use and IMPORTANTLY, easy to unclog when the hair gets in the way (also easy to tell as the hair in the transparent canister stops spinning). Also great for picking up and dirt and other things she tracks in.

That being said, this is not something to get if you have carpeting. I have assorted throw rugs throughout the apartment and this really does nothing for those. I do however also have a dirt devil handvac that does extremely well at getting the hair out of the rugs.

All in all, if you have wood floors this is a great little product, especially if you have pets. ... Read more
