A Vacuum bag that Thinks it's a HEPA filter - Great!
I love these vacuum bags because of the electrostatic liner that catches the smallest particles yet does not require a seperate HEPA filter like most others (which incidentally is ususally an extra item you have to buy and is sometimes hard to find). With this filter you do not get the cloud of dust in the room that others I have used leave behind which is very annoying and leaves you wondering why you vacuumed in the first palce. The fliter is easy to get to and change. Though not HEPA rated this filter IS the next best thing and a LOT LESS trouble and expense. If you are buying the Hoover Canister vacuum machine I suggest buying a couple of packs of these bags along with the machine.

I HAVE SEVERAL ALLERGIES WHICH INCLUDE HOUSE DUST, DUST MITES, AND CAT DANDER. I HAVE TRIED OTHER NAME BRAND VACUUMS WITH THEIR ALLERGEN BAGS AND/OR FILTERS. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DO MY OWN VACUUMING OR EVEN BE IN THE SAME ROOM WHILE SOMEONE ELSE WAS VACUUMING, WITHOUT HAVING AN ALLERGY ATTACK, UNTIL I TRIED USING HOOVER TYPE S ALLERGEN VACUUM BAGS. WAY OVERPRICED ITEM
Absolutely RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED ... get a grip! Whoever would buy this item at this price and the extraordinary OVERPRICED SHIPPING doesn't know how to shop!

A little pricey but convenient
The reviewer who complained so about the price could find these at her local ... chain store. These are standard bags available everywhere. Amazon is nice because you don't have to leave the house. For some an extra [bit of money] is worth the convenience.

Highway robbery for a simple product
After shipping, this pack of 3 is right around the cost of buying it locally.P>There's nothing here worth 4 stars. The vacuum cleaner perhaps, but not the bags. It's a simple paper bag like any other; it's not rocket science. It's worth about $0.50 to manufacture, and they could make a profit at ($$$)/bag. This type of pricing is nothing other than highway robbery since they have us latched already. My next vacuum might be one of those bagless models.

If somebody wants to post something helpful, please let us know where if anywhere we can find these bags (inexpensive) from a third party.

Just what the doctor ordered.
Well, if you have allergies and need to cut down the ambient dust, these bags are purported to do just that. As a part of a total house hypoallergenic program, they seem to help. The price here is a bit cheaper than at my local retailer.

Ok, the bag fills up fast, but then that's because the system does such a terrific job. One bag lasted two weeks, but then the cleaner itself gives an indication when the area is still dirty, so you tend to be more careful in vacuuming.Bag replacement is a bit clumsy but no more so than most machines. I had no trouble removing the bag and not spilling its contents. Yes, you have to fold the top and bottom over when you install it but that's because it unfolds when it fills up. Expense? Allergen Filtration
We purchased these bags for the first time in May 2001. I installed a bag and thought it worked OK. (I did not throw the former bags, not Hoover bags, out.) The next time the bag needed changing the lady who cleans the house (unbeknown to us) installed the bag we had been using previously. My wife who is very sensitive to house dust recognized the difference. After a very short time my wife said she could smell the dust when the vacuum cleaner was in use. I changed the bag in our vacuum back to a Hoover bag and the probem was cured. While not very scientific, it convinced us. I have thrown the other bags away.
Additional Comment:
Because of the small particles that are trapped in the bag, I take the vacuum outside to remove the filled bag. This prevents these particles from escaping back into the air in the house. ... Read more

Great Purchase
This vaccum is great. I was worried about the bag/filter light to see if the bag would really be full before it came on and low and behold the bag was stuffed when the light came on. good solid bags
I guess I was a little hesitant on reviewing about vacuum bags, but these are pretty good.

Though I know it may not be necessary for those without a Hoover Upright vacuum cleaner, and that they must be bought for a Hoover user, these are still good bags. If you are thinking of buying a vacuum cleaner, you should consider not only the power and quality of its cleaning power, but how easy it is to clean it's container or change its bags. And Hoover makes changing bags easy, plus the bags are quite strong. Did you ever see those garbage bag commercials where they test bags by rolling them down a hill? Well, these bags are stronger.

A great dirt bag shouldn't be a reason to buy the Hoover Vacuum, which is a great vacuum by the way, but it should be one of the considerations you make. ... Read more
