Treated with an antimicrobial product to protect against odor-causing bacteria, the two true HEPA filters in this package are at least 99.97 percent effective at trapping extremely tiny particles (as small as 0.03 micron) when used in an air cleaner or air purifier. The filters fit Bionaire BAP1175 and BAP1300 model air cleaners as well as Holmes HAP615, HAP625, HAP650, and HAP675 model air purifiers. Each of these models requires only one filter, so the second is a spare for later use. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Air Filters for Your Money
I have used the Bionaire BAP1175 Air Cleaner and Filters for 16 months. I still have 45% usage left. My Vintage Home is on pier and beams. This causes a lot of dust, mold spores and dust mites. And with our new carpet, this adds unwanted airborne chemicals and carpet particles.I noticed a difference within an hour of useage. You will be amazed at the unwanted ordors that just disappear. The quite sleep speed is wonderful.I highly recommend this air cleaner and filters.

5-0 out of 5 stars 2 years of use and still going!
We have two units in our home, living area and bedroom. They keep the air clean and the dust down to a minimum. I will always have these in my home or office.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bionaire is great!
I love Bionaire Air Purifiers! I really feel it makes a difference in my room. I don't have alleregies, but the room air seems fresher. Just a correction on the editorial review above: Fred is wrong! The BAP1300 uses four filters so you need to buy two a1230h.
bap1175 uses two filters so you need one set. (a1230h comes with two) hap675 uses four, hap 650 uses three, hap625 uses two, hap 615 uses only one. So when he said you'll have an extra filter, that's only correct with the hap615. I happened to have tried them all. They are all good and all have the exact same filtration method. By the way, the digital counter on bap1300 is bogus. It does not measure air quality or actual usage. It is just a guesstimate based on time alone of when you have to replace your filters.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as Good as Expected
It's on the noisy side (equivalent to perhaps an electric fan on medium). The output air smells a bit warm and stale to me, rather than "fresh." It does a good job of filtering dust, but it really hasn't made any tangible contribution to reducing my allergies. I think I'll shop for an Ionizing air cleaner next (when I have the budget).

5-0 out of 5 stars Very effective and easy to replace
These filters are very effective. The air really does smell better and is fresher. They are also very easy to replace. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

A cold room warms up quickly with this triple-element ceramic heater.Vents project heat in three directions, with air intake in the back. The niftything about this heater is its wireless remote control/thermostat, whichBionaire calls the Galileo Climate Center. By keeping the thermostat near a deskor reading chair, the heater maintains room temperature closest to where it'sneeded most. Using radio frequency technology, the Galileo remote doesn't needto be pointed at the heater to work. A digital display on the remote shows bothroom and desired temperature, controls low or high output, and can be used as atimer to preheat a room in the morning or evening. The lightweight heatermeasures 9-1/2 by 8-1/2 by 7-1/2 inches, can sit on the floor or a table, and isbacked by a two-year warranty. Three AAA batteries are included for the remotecontrol. --Ann Bieri ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars It is -56 tonight and this little heater is keeping me warm
The wind chill hit -56 this morning (only -28 otherwise) and fighting the cold trying to come through the brick wall that makes up the back wall of my ground floor basement office is the Bionaire Galileo Digital Triple Ceramic Heater. Not only that, this little heater is winning the war. By that I set the temperature that I want and this little unit hits the mark. Granted, it is rather strange to have a remote for your heater, but the controls are fairly simple. You push "mode" until it unlocks and then you have five choices: high, low, high automatic, low automatic, and off. For the most part automatic is how you want to go and low works fine unless you are trying to play catch up. The three directional heaters are nice because it works perfectly in a corner, in my case underneath the table.

Yes, a timer that would go off every morning to start heating up your designated area before you were up and about would be nice, but it is not that much of a problem to reset it each night and in the morning. It takes less than 10 seconds to do this. This unit will warm things up pretty quick once it gets going, so this is a minor inconvenience at best (especially in terms of what is on the other side of that brick wall down here tonight). The Bionaire Galileo Digital Triple Ceramic Heater is one of those items that once you discover it you wonder why you waited so long to get one. This is the first winter in the Zenith City where I have not been wearing my turtlenecks and sweaters all the time because of what this little unit can do.

3-0 out of 5 stars no good no bad
I guess is ok for small rooms, in the amazon review says that is ok for any size of room but if you wanted for a well size room wont heat it up as good as the review said. I'd try to place couple of fans close to it, so the heat can spread out, otherwise will be useless

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little heater
I've had this heater a few weeks now, and I'm very pleased. I wanted to be able to heat up the bathroom without getting out of bed, so I needed either a timer or a remote. This one has both.

All the features are very cool, and work mostly as described. I'd like to share what I learned after I got it.

I haven't had any problems syncing the remote like the other reviewer. I plugged in the heater and put the batteries in the remote, and followed the instructions to press one button, and off it went.

It heats well, bringing up the temperature of my bathroom very quickly.

I set the remote on top of my home thermostat for a day to test the thermometer, and it was off by one degree. Perfectly acceptable for me. The remote shows the room temperature at all times, even when the heater is off. It has a backlight, which turns on for about ten seconds whenever a key is pressed. After a minute of inactivity, the remote locks itself, to prevent accidental keypresses. To unlock it you hold the mode button for two seconds.

Something not mentioned in the description is the heat settings: Low is 1200W and High is 1500W.

Note that you can turn the heater on without the remote, but only to constant Low or High, not to an Auto (thermostat) setting.

A minor disappointment was the timer function. From the description I was hoping to set a timer so that the heater would turn on every morning at a certain time. Instead, you can only program it to turn on in a certain number of hours, one time. So, if I know the next morning will be cold, I set it the night before, but I have to do it each night. This is probably fine for most people. BTW, when it turns itself on in timer mode, it runs for two hours on High, with a setting of 72F. Apparently you can't change this. It also has a timer to turn itself off after a number of hours, like the Sleep Timer setting on a clock radio.

One really minor surprise was the depth of the unit -- it's not as flat as it looks. From the pictures, you can't tell that the fan intake sticks out a few inches on the back. This was not at all a problem for me, just a surprise. The whole unit is still very compact, maybe the size of a soccer ball. It's also very lightweight; the outer body is all plastic. Mine's gray instead of the white in the picture. The weird orange thing in the middle vent in the picture must be some sort of sensor; mine has it too.

A pleasant surprise is the cool-down feature in Auto (thermostat) mode. When the room temperature has reached your setting, the heater of course turns off. But it seems to shut off the heating elements and just run the fan for maybe a minute, to flush out any residual heat. When I had more primitive heaters I'd do this manually, to cool down the heater and to get all the heat I'd paid for. This one does it automatically.

The only problem I've had is that sometimes on High it shuts itself down. I believe this is because I have it in a confined space and close to two walls, and it thinks it's overheating. I have not had this problem on Low, and I'm sure I wouldn't have it at all if I moved it into a more open space.

In case you're worried about wireless problems, I have 900MHz and 2.4GHz cordless phones, an X10 video sender, an 802.11g wireless network, RF ceiling fan remotes, an RF Dish remote, and other RF products, and I haven't had any issues with the heater and remote.

Oh yeah, and it's really quiet, probably because the fan isn't very powerful. If it's around a corner or there's something else going on, I don't notice that it's running. Since the fan is weak, it doesn't blow heat at you very far, but it still moves air and heat fine. It probably projects heat a foot or two straight out.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good
I would have given this 5 stars but it took awhile to get the remote control in sync with the unit. I found that if you took the batteries out the remote and put them back in again, the unit will work. It gives off decent heat and heats up a room in no time at all. I have a sun porch that is all windows and has no radiators and it's perfect for that room. Do not let young children near this even when it's not plugged in. My son shoved pennies in it and broke it. It will probably cost more to fix then I paid for it so I might buy another one. ... Read more

Exceptionally quiet, this big air cleaner is recommended for closedrooms up to 488 square feet in size. It has four speeds, a lighted,digital-display control panel that monitors filter performance, and two filters. One ofthe filters is true HEPA, meaning it's at least 99.97 percent effective intrapping extremely tiny particles (as small as 0.3 microns) and removing smoke, pollen, dust, animal dander, dust mites, and molds from the air. 3-0 out of 5 stars Can't say this is quiet
Perhaps no fan-based air purifier should not allowed to be advertised as quiet. This one is no exception--and I am talking about it at its lowest setting (Sleep). Although it is a bit quieter than my previous fan-based air purifier, it can be clearly heard, even while surrounded by other normal day-time sounds. I can hear it from across the room. Higher settings (Low, Med, High) are worse--I can't stand using Med and High unless I'm out of the room.

I bought at Costco a stand-up cooling fan (with a 21"-by-2.5" air outlet) that is noticeably quieter than this, at roughly the same air output rate.

If you insist on a fan-based air purifier, this may be good enough; just don't expect miracles in terms of quietness. But if you want really quiet or nearly silent, you should consider the Ionic Breeze (although you might find that the slower cleaning rate and the cleaning hassles unacceptable).

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful product!
I did a lot of research before deciding on the Bionaire 1175. My criteria were: (1) Quality product from a company I knew; (2) True HEPA with a prefilter (see how much I learned?); (3) Functional and nice-looking. I could not be more pleased! The unit absolutely looks great: modern, clean design, well-placed buttons, and the nightlight on the readout looks great. It fits neatly against a wall and has a small footprint. These are aesthetic concerns, true, but the unit has to sit someplace in your home, and I wanted it to look good. The air is drawn in the front and out the top, so you get maximum cleaning without the outflow interfering with the air intake. It truly is quiet; the highest setting could probably be compared to running a regular fan. Every day or two, I can remove a good amount of cat hair and larger dust clumps from the front grille -- and this is just the bigger stuff that's getting caught before it even gets to the filters! So, I know it's cleaning my air, and it looks great doing it. Works for me!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice unit!
Works well, does a great job moving the air and cleaning the air as well. Sleeping with it on the lowest setting is fine, but your most effective cleaning is on the highest setting (of course). The only thing keeping it from a five star rating is the over priced replacement HEPA filters. Unit itself is a great deal here on Amazon, couldn't touch the price locally. Am going to order a second unit (or maybe the larger one) for the living room. With 3 dogs, this unit really shines.

3-0 out of 5 stars Product does not match its name
Package arrived intact, no rattle sound either. However, motor made a loud high pitch noise that seems something scratching the motor or fan. Bionaire seems needing a better quality control over its supply maker.

1-0 out of 5 stars Quite Loud
While I have no experience with other air filters, I thought this unit was unreasonably loud. I had planned on sleeping with the unit in my bedroom because it was advertised as the most quiet on the market. On the lowest (sleep) setting there was a "buzz saw" sound I cannot sleep with and that, from the noise I heard, may have been caused by tape as described by other reviewers. However, after opening the unit and looking at the fan, I couldn't see any tape. Spinning the fan with my hand elicited a sound like something scraping against the fan blades, but the sound came from an unreachable place inside the unit. I have requested an exchange and hope the next unit performs better. ... Read more

A slim, space-saving design, this Bionaire tower fan adds comfort and cool to your home with the added ease of remote control. The fan features a noise-reduction design that is almost soundless on the lowest setting and comfortably quiet on the two higher settings. An optional 90-degree oscillation function increases room circulation and makes the fan a good candidate for corner placement. The unit also includes a pleasant breeze setting--sporadic cycling through the three speeds for a natural feel--and a sleep function that gradually slows the motor down and turns it off. The fan’s 7-1/2-hour timer works in half-hour intervals for convenience, and an included remote control operates all the fan’s functions. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great, quiet fan!
This fan has far exceeded my expectations-it's super-quiet, easy to move around, and has numerous handy features. I've had it about a year-no problems. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a fan that works well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well made, quiet, and works well
I too suspect a serious hatchet job with ulterior motives from these other reviewers. I have 2 of these, almost 2 years now. I like them very much. They oscillate smoothly and its the only fan I can have near a TV that wont ruin the show with it's incessant cranking noise like a standard fan. I am ordering another one today on the Friday sale. I can't speak for other people but I'm sold. One other note. You can find tower fans from Bionaire in the discount stores but they are the cheapie model, this one is the higher quality one. Maybe the ones these other people are complaining about are the more squarish versions from BJs and Sams and the like.

1-0 out of 5 stars It's true. This is absolute JUNK.
It's heading out to the curbside after just a few months.

An absolute waste of money, don't bother!

3-0 out of 5 stars Quiet, it ain't.
So far, the reviews on this item have been in the extreme -- either the product is godawful, or it is the best thing on the market. I have both good and bad review, based on the one I purchased. It delivers a lot of what it promises: a sleek design, multiple functions including oscillation, breeze mode and three speeds to suit your needs, and best of all, it's remote control operated. It also has a programmable timer (which I haven't tried yet). But quiet it ain't. At the lowest level, its sound is loud enough to be irritating (instead of the nearly inaudible hum as advertised), and at the highest level, the humming is loud enough to drown the sound of the television. It's like the sound you hear sitting in a flying airplane. Perhaps this happens because I sit too close to the fan (about 8ft. away diagonally) -- but therein is the other problem: this fan is not strong enough for a large room. I put it in a corner of a 12 X 9 room, and I have to put it on the highest level to actually feel the breeze from the other side.

There it is, the good and the bad. Conclusion: it's a pretty machine that works pretty well, with conveniences. But not as quiet or powerful as advertised. And I will have to wait to report the final test of durability: how long this machine will last through the summer.

1-0 out of 5 stars ITS JUNK
Was given fan for my new office. Had it running off and on for 2 days and doesnt work !!!! Looks great, 2 days worth and nothing !! Dont buy this piece of junk.....There wasn't any "0" stars or I would have rated it just that.. I dont have the packing slip since it was a gift. So I guess I have to toss it in the garbage... I will NEVER buy a Bionaire product ever !!! ... Read more

With a remote control for convenient adjustment, this double window fan draws in fresh, cool air from the outside or exhausts stale, hot air from inside. It can also do both simultaneously, because each of the two fans can be set independently to draw in or exhaust out, allowing the unit to exchange inside and outside air. Operable either manually or automatically--with its thermostat turning the fans off and on to maintain a selected temperature--the unit has three speeds, electronic controls, and an LCD screen showing the selected temperature and the room temperature. The remote control (two AAA batteries are included) alters speed, manual/automatic operation, air-flow direction, and temperature.

The twin fan is designed to fit double-hung, vertical-slider, and casement windows. A built-in 7-inch extender and two 3-inch extenders permit custom fitting for windows from 24 to 37 inches wide. Because the unit is lightweight plastic it can be moved easily from room to room. The fans have six blades and measure 8-1/2 inches in diameter. 1-0 out of 5 stars Thermostat heats itself
I have one of these, bought 2 years ago: it works beautifully. I bought another this week, and the thermostat feature was completely unusable. I tried 2 more (all were from the same store, this year and 2 years ago); all of the new ones would show the correct temperature when first plugged in, and then the temperature shown would rise, generally to about 15 degrees above the ambient temperature. The control unit on the new ones seems to generate heat, and in fact one time it felt warmer than the rest of the unit; this is true with the fan off and only the thermometer functioning. The same problem is seen with the fans on--the temperature reads erroneously high. This makes the thermostat feature, which ranges up no higher than 80 degress F, useless. This is because the fan thinks it's 80 when in fact it's 65.

The fan functions very well as a simple remote-control fan: strong, quiet, flexible. But since I bought it for the thermostat feature, which no longer works in the three current examples I've tested, I give it a poor rating.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great cooling job......
I lived in New Haven, CT and the humidity is awful and unbearable! I don't have any AC in my house and just relied on his fan to cool my little computer room, which usually get stuffy and hot since the air circulation is not that good even with the door open. I have had this for a week now and have used it when we had the hotest day last week and being able to regulate it to the desired temperature to cool and having the capability to choose IN, OUT, EXCHANGE is a wonderful feature! I was able to cool the room in no time at all. I did't have this unit for a long time, therefore, I do not know how it will deliver and function when the weather really gets "HAZY, HOT, and HUMID" We'll see. So far, so good. Will keep you posted. The only thing I wish that you would do is make a smaller frame so that it will fit into smaller windows, like 18-23" width! That would be nice. The newer house windows are a lot smaller than the Colonial houses! Just a suggestion for futue production! Other than that, it's easy to install and looks attractive.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great cooling fan...
I live in Orange County, California, near the beach, so the air is generally cool outside. The sun warms the inside of the house, so the trick is getting the cool air into the warm house. This fan is great for that.

NOISE: There are three speeds. Low and medium are fairly quiet. High is louder.
AIRFLOW DIRECTION: There are three options- BOTH IN, BOTH OUT or EXCHANGE (one fan in, one fan out). The only mode that really cools the room is BOTH IN, but it works well (it works even better if you open the bedroom door so there is no resistance to airflow).
SETUP: installation was easy, but note that you have to have a narrow window that slides up and down, because there is presumably no way to fit it into a tall window that slides sideways.

I recommend this product. The only caveat is that I have only had it for a few days, so I have no idea if it will be durable. The five year warranty gives some comfort.

5-0 out of 5 stars A really good and very powerful unit
Slow speed is adequately quiet while medium and high are really powerful. The remote is nice. The thermostat is also a nice touch. At night the fan turns off by itself. It seems like very good quality. I am very happy with this unit.

5-0 out of 5 stars everything is great
that last reviewer must have recieved a lemon, and that's usually my job. this fan is great, if anything, it works too well and cools down my room too much (i'm very tempermental). I think that the thermostat is great, in fact, it better reflects the outside temp than weather.com. anyway, i'm happy. and it has a remote, a huge icing-on-the-cake. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Bionaire filter for LC-1060
the filter works extremely well and made an immediate difference in the air quality of the room. The only drawback is the price - its relatively expensive to continue to replace filters. They are one timne use and once the indicator on the machine tell you that it is time to get a new one then you simply remove and toss. Living in NYC I am going through a filter a month easily just in the kids room. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
This is a great item & worth the money if you're into fragrances.Actually works out to be cheaper than most air fresheners & candles. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that I can't find all the disks available. There are 2 disks listed on their website that I can't find anywhere:Wishes for Spring & On a Tropical Island. The website says you can buy these on Amazon, but they don't have them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the money!
I have very tall vaulted ceilings throughout my apartment and always find most air fresheners to be sub par given the large space. I bought this based on the reviews of other buyers hoping it might be different, I am very pleased. I had the unit plugged in for only a few minutes and left for a short time, when I came back the pleasant scent had entirely filled not only the living room but the side rooms as well (Aprox. 800 sq ft + vaulted ceilings). Then the benefit of a new scent every 30 mins relieves getting used to or bored with the same scent. The fan is very quiet and not noticeable with a TV or stereo on. This is completely worth the investment and highly recommended to everyone!

4-0 out of 5 stars Effective and cost efficient
The price of this may scare you at first; it seems like a bit much to spend on "air freshner" but if you are "into" scent the way I am, it's well worth it. This player does evenly distribute scent throughout the room, enough so that I bought a second unit to keep in my bedroom (wait for the sales, and use the coupon, this makes the price easier to swallow.) I have found the fan a bit too loud for my liking in the bedroom but in the other rooms it is not noticable.

I am having difficulty in finding all of the available disks, I am just seeing, "hammock" and vanilla and would like to try the others. I do like the disks that I've tried and would probably try any that came out. I love fragrance and spend a lot on candles (Votivo are fabulous if you're interested), oils and oil burners, plug-ins, and incense; pretty much anything to do with fragrance, and I consider this a good long term value.

I would prefer that it take up less space and come with a smaller plug so that I could have more options to place the unit but I obviously am willing to live with it's size since I now have two.

Overall assesment, don't let the price thwart you, it will eventually become cheaper to buy a 50 hour disk than various plug in type scents. Keep in mind that quality candles that burn for 50 hourscost more than the price of a disk (in most cases, double). The same goes for essential/fragrance oils. So, go on and get it and enjoy.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best I have owned!
I got one of these for Christmas and I must say that I am totally in love with it.I have a very large open living room/den/dining room and the scents travel well.
What I really love about this machine is the scents are so NICE!They are not heavy, or fake smelling.I didn't know how they would make 5 scents work together but they blend seamlessly.
I catch myself walking by and just blurting out "mmmm they smells good!"
I would tell anyone to buy this in a heartbeat. The scents last..they play for 2 1/2 hours at a time, the machine turns itself off (so no worries there) and just make your feel good!

5-0 out of 5 stars Scents don't last long at all but it is a cool gadget
I have played my scentstories on several occasions and noticed that the scent pretty much last the day it has played.I had it in my bedroom for 2 days and now it is in myliving room.I like the whole concept of this item even though I couldn't comprehend the whole of it until I read the reviews and owned one.It would be a lot cooler if it played soothing sounds. The disc it comes with is really strong.I purchased the pink floral disc at Target yesterday since it was clearanced to $4 but have yet to try it.I have no pets so it really covers no odors except for musky or maybe lingering cooking smells. If you are having company, just press a button and it literally takes seconds for a room to be fragranced unlike a candle or a plug in. So even though the scent just lasts a day in my home and I don't play it daily, I love it. If the discs were cheaper maybe I would play it more often. The machine is extremely quiet when it is running and a lot more compact than the box shows.I have it underneath an end table in my living room on top of a $1 step stool (since it should not sit on the ground). When I run it, I just pull the table cloth up to allow the scent to be blown out. I recommend this item. ... Read more

Tall and thin, this air cleaner fits in the corner of a room, and has a modern design that complements most contemporary offices or homes. The purifier covers an area of 180 square feet (equivalent to a 12-by-15-foot room), and operates so quietly it’s not immediately noticeable to guests. For those prone to allergies, this air cleaner has a high-efficiency HEPA filter that removes about 99 percent of airborne particles from the air that are 2 microns or larger in size--such as dust, pollen, and smoke. An independent ionizer further helps remove particles, while a carbon filter reduces household odors. A built-in oscillator distributes air evenly through the room, and improves air circulation. An alert light lets you know when filters need to be changed. Compact controls on the top of the air purifier, and on the included remote control host three speed settings. --Cristina Vaamonde ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Not a good buy
To be completely truthful, i must mention that this one my FIRST purchase of an air purifier.

Reading about it online and the low price inclined me to buy a BAP825, it only lasted one day at my house because of the number of flaws i saw in the product. (doing countless # of readings about air purifiers paid off)
1. Even though it's a nice looking product with a stylish look, its looks are deceiving. Why?...first off look at the unit's front grill that suppose to blow all the clean air out. That long yet not so wide grill looks good enough to do an efficient job of air flow right? But what if the unit only blew air out from the far left side of grill. The unit i received had no air blowing from the center, or the right hand side(top to bottom). I called bionaire to complain and they replied "no...ALL of the units of this model are like that..even tho the grill is a nice size...only about 30% of it is actually used..having air blown out from a far corner is normal" Now try placing this unit in an angle all the time to have it blow straight.
2. Filter seems reasonably price?...wrong. Heres why. Bionair says to change the Hepa filter every 12-18 months and charcoal filter every 6 months. The problem with this unit is the hepa filter is combined with the charcoal filter (not separate)! Thus, for this unit u change the filter every 6-9 month instead, MAKING U BUY FILTERS TWICE AS MUCH AS OTHER UNITS. That mean in 18 month period u might have to change the filter for this unit 3 times ($40 x 3 =$120)!!!.
Misleading and awkward grill..but more importantly twice the filter cost made me return this unit and get the model BAP1175 instead...here's why:
Lets compare the cost of both units for 18 month.
BAP825
*cost = $99
*filter = $80 (giving them benefit of the doubt...changing only twice instead of 3 times)
*CADR =110 (clean air delivery rate, see www.cadr.org)
*suggested room size = 180 squared feet
TOTAL COST FOR 18 MONTHS = 179
BAP1175
*cost = $130
*filter = $44
*CADR = 140
*Suggested Room size = 217 squared feet
TOTAL COST FOR 18 MONTHS = $174
Lets see, you have a model (1175) that clean alot better (higher CADR), can handle a bigger room, and costs less at the end of the 18 months. Not to mention this better model will continue to cost half in future since BAP825 makes you replace filters twice as fast. THEN WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD U BUY AN INFERIOR PRODUCT JUST TO PAY MORE? Do yourself a favor...don't purchase this BAP825...go get yourself a 1175. BAP1175 is better, more powerful, and the initial unit's price difference is made up in the first six month when everyone who owns a 825 will be purchasing something you won't (a $40 filter).

3-0 out of 5 stars Not sure how this one works??
I bought an 825U, for my home office. (I also own two of the BAP-1175 units, which I LOVE.) The 825 looks very sleek, and fits perfectly where I need it to go. But here's my concern with it: the room air is drawn in the back, and clean air is blown out the front -- which seems to me that the unit would be blowing the room air away from itself, effectively keeping most of the room air from being drawn into the filter. (??) The natural spot for this tower design is in a corner, or next to a desk or bookshelf. This puts the intake against the wall, where it doesn't seem to me that it could do very much intaking. Especially if the fans are blowing all the air away from the unit. I called Bionaire, and while they are consistently friendly and helpful, the only suggestion they could give was to place the unit more toward the center of a room. Obviously, that's rarely an option for most people. Maybe I'm thinking too much about all this, but it's something I'd love to get more information on. For now, I returned the 825, and got a second 1175. It takes up more space than the tower, but is a more effective purifying unit in my consumer-level opinion.

If anyone has thoughts or knowledge on this, please post! ... Read more

Designed to use in certain air cleaners and air purifiers, the four activated-charcoal filters in this package help to remove odors from the air. The filters fit Bionaire BAP1175 and BAP1300 model air cleaners as well as Holmes HAP615, HAP625, HAP650, and HAP675 model air purifiers. Each of these models requires only one filter, so the other three in the package are spares for later use. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Great...Easy to Replace...Order Early
The "Bionaire A1260C Carbon Replacement Filters" are for use for several models of the Bionaire Air Cleaners(see editorial review for model numbers). I have the Bionaire BAP1175 Quietech Hepa Air Cleaner(which by the way is a fabulous product in itself).

My air cleaner works on a 3 filter system. The first removes the larger particles from the air(it may be washed) Next, this one, is a carbon filter(very easy to install and remove) that traps odors. This works great. The carbon filter does a good job of removing dog smells, smoke and cooking odors as well. It is recommended to change these filters(there are 2) every 3-6 months(it may not be washed). These filters are fairly inexpensive to replace. The instruction manuel says you will know when to replace it, as "odor removal effectiveness will be noticeably reduced". That is exactly how I knew when to change my filters.Running it almost constantly, it was just short of the 3 months that I noticed they needed to be changed, but I attribute that to the house being closed up all summer with the A/C on. And by the way, after replacing the filters,on which I could also see all the dust they filtered, I noticed the difference within minutes!(even with the dog in the house). They are simple to change(I can finally do something I don't have to ask the menfolk to help with), and they come four in a pack, so your all set for the next time. They come in a plastic resealable bag and advise to keep the spares sealed up to maintain freshness. When I ordered, I noticed that they took just a little longer then the other items, so order early.

Oh and for those interested in the Hepa Air Cleaner Model BAP1175...the third filter is the hepa filter..This is already in the machine on arrival. This filter, according to the manuel, removes 99.97% of particulate as small as 0.3 microns in size. It filters smoke, dust, pollen mold spores, pet dander and "some" bacteria. And I believe it. Now these filters are quite a bit more expensive to replace, but they last quite a while, somewhere between 12-24 months. And you will know exactly when to replace it, because there is a great feature, a digital read out of how much filter life is left. After nearly 3 months mine still has about 87% life left. For more info on the air cleaner itself please see my review.

A great buy on a very good product and easy to get here at Amazon(as opposed to running around trying to find the model number I needed.)

Thanks....Laurie ... Read more

A cold room warms up quickly with this ceramic heater. With its roundedback and fine-screen front panels, the heater looks more like a classy stereospeaker than a heating device. Cleverly designed, the two stacked cubes turnindependently to project heat into different parts of the room. And, using thehandy remote control, temperature settings can be adjusted without getting outof a chair or bed. Measuring 12-1/2 by 7 by 6 inches, the compact heater takesup very little floor space and can even sit on a table. The SmartTouch one- button control toggles through five temperature settings (60, 65, 70, 75, and 80degrees F) with a choice of either low or high output for each. While thisheater projects powerfully, it operates 40 percent more quietly than otherceramic heaters. For safety reasons the heater will shut off if it starts tooverheat. The remote control requires two AAA batteries (not included). Designedin Canada, the Bionaire heater comes with a two-year warranty against defects.--Ann Bieri ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Remote didn't work leaving the heater beeping all the time
Just barely picked up the unit and the remote didn't work. The remote wouldn't allow me to not only switch the unit to auto, it didn't switch from celsius to fahrenheit either. You might not think that is so bad except the unit beeps once every 2 seconds until the remote is synced up with it. So $50 later I was left with a beeping heater that really doesn't put out that much heat anyway.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great Heating Unit, But Does Have Drawbacks
This small unit provides excellent heating power in a small, attractively designed package. It does, however, have its drawbacks. One is the annoying design for the control buttons. One button on the unit controls both the heat temperature and the high/low fan (yes, only one button), which means you sometimes have to scroll through a number of temperature & high/low settings before you get to the one you want. The controls on the remote use exactly the same format. Even more annoying are the popping sounds the heater can make when turned on, but in idle mode. I'm guessing this is due to the ceramic heating unit being encased in a plastic shell. As the ceramics heat and cool in idle mode, the unit emits brief, sharp, random popping noises as the plastic elements expand and contract. Over time, I was able to block out these sounds, but think it is something that Bionaire could easily have identified and fixed during the testing phase for this product. In the end, these annoyances may be minor if what you are looking for is a small, attractively designed unit that delivers great heating power.

5-0 out of 5 stars I was freezing in the North East
I would highly recommend this heater. Prior to this purchase, I owned a Pelonis oil-filled heater that looks like a radiator - it broke down in less than a year and was far to costly to have repaired - what a piece of junk. Anyway, the Bionaire heat is magnificent. Its not very noisy at all, heats the room very quickly, and the twisting position system is quite effective. For instance, it took about 20 min to heat a room 10'x12' several degrees, whereas my old oil-filled heater took 30 min just to get warm and another hour to raise the temperature just 1-2 degrees (using the same amount of power). I am very pleased at my purchase. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an excellent heater.

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent Product at a great price
This product is definitely very quiet and you will barely if at all notice it. It does what it says and heats up the room to comfortable temperatures.

The one downside is that it only is able to direct warmth in two directions. It lacks the continuous fan motion of some other heaters. Still it does it job well and I recommend it! ... Read more

This space-age-styled humidifier will quietly disperse cool moisture to a room, small home, or apartment of 1,700 square feet. Easy-to-fill water reservoirs on either side of the unit output about 10 gallons of water per day, enabling the humidifier to run up to 36 hours without requiring refilling. You can manually set the Galileo from the unit’s control panel, or program it to operate automatically. The Climate Center is unique in that it has a remote humidistat that is constantly communicating with the main unit to ensure that all areas of the room within a 30-foot radius maintain the desired moisture level. Other humidifiers tend to have built-in humidistats that only increase the moisture level directly around the unit. The remote control’s backlit digital display indicates both current, and desired room humidity--even when the humidifier is turned off. The remote control is angled for easy reading while resting on a tabletop, and also fits neatly into a storage spot on the humidifier. A child safety lock prevents little ones from operating the wireless climate center unsupervised, and an indicator light tells you when batteries are getting low. Dual air filters remove airborne particles from indoor spaces, while a filter monitor lets you know when the wick needs replacing. For healthier operation, a built-in Microban microbial product discourages the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew within the humidifier. Rolling casters glide the humidifier from room to room to supply direct humidity to a particular space. Measuring 14-1/4 inches long, 28-3/4 inches wide, and 21 inches high, this model is covered by Bionaire under a two-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars poor wick filter
I've found that I'm going through two filters a month because the tops of them dry out and reduce the effectiveness of the humidifier. I've resorted to using filtered water and even that doesn't help much. When the filters are working the humidifier works wonderfully but in the long run it's becoming a very expensive machine. If it wasn't for the wicks I would say it is an excellent machine but with this problem I can't recommend it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Poorly built for the price
This humidifier definitely worked well, but it's so poorly designed and built that the plastic panels rattle at any fan speed. I bought two of these and both had the exact same problems with rattling panels. Both were subsequently returned. Which is a shame, because when it doesn't rattle, it performs admirably. The tanks are easy to fill if you unscrew the caps (instead of using their weird twist-and-fill valves). The remote is a nice feature to help ensure your get desired humidity in an certain area (although by no means a necessity). But for the price, this thing is really a piece of junk.

4-0 out of 5 stars Remote humidity sensor makes the difference
First of all, the complaints--there were only 3 thumbscrews, instead of 4, holding the filter unit to the bottom tank, and a screwcap on one of the tanks was backwards, and needed to be switched around. Also, the remote is supposed to work in the same room, but it didn't when it was placed on a bookcase. I moved it to another part of the room, and set it upright, and it has worked like a charm. The filter indicator is a bit flaky--sometimes it says the filter needs changing, and sometimes it doesn't. I haven't figured that one out yet, though I did buy extra humidifer wicks.

And the praise--once I figured out that the screwcap was backwards, and that the remote humidistat prefers to be upright (or not on a bookcase), it has worked like a charm! It will cycle on and off as needed. The high fan setting is a bit loud, but the medium and low are fine. It is set up in our living room, so the noise doesn't bother us while sleeping. It has enough output to pleasantly humidify our house (1300 sq. ft. main level). My dogs can now roll around on the carpet and not get shocked. I really like the feature of the intake air filters, so I don't have to run an air cleaner in addition to the humidifier. The unit has been running a month now, and I haven't had to change the filter. I do add an anti-microbial to the water tanks when I fill them up.

1-0 out of 5 stars Way too noisy!
Even on the low or medium settings this humidifier sounds like there is a jet engine in my living room.

2-0 out of 5 stars Too noisy
The only improvement over the previous Bionare console model W6 is that the containers are easier to fill. This humidifier is so noisy that it interferes with normal speech. I returned it to the store thinking it might be defective, but the replacement was just as noisy. This time it was returned permanently. ... Read more

This compact, space-age-styled humidifier generates warm moisture for an area of 700 square feet, and outputs about 3 gallons of water per day. This humidifier has an automatic shut-off system for safety, and a dishwasher-safe tray below the water reservoir for easy cleaning. 3-0 out of 5 stars Found a possible workaround for the constant resetting
We live in a very dry climate (Calgary, Alberta) and we have purchased many different warm mist humidifiers. It's always the same problem (the mineral build up on the heating element is hard to clean no matter what you do!). However, with this one, the heating element just wipes off and I only have to soak it in some vinegar once a week for a few minutes to remove a bit of build up that sticks to the element. I *do* like this heating element since it's extremely easy to clean.

We had the same "reset" problem as described above by other customers, and what we found is that when you plug it in (with a full tank of water), just start it on the LOW setting first, until the steam starts to come out, then you can put it on the HIGH setting (or leave it on LOW if you wish).

We figured out that if you go straight to HIGH to get it started, the machine shuts off (reset light comes on). It seems to get too hot too fast or something is too sensitive inside the machine. If you start on LOW, let it start steaming, then increase it to HIGH, we don't seem to have the reset problem.

We've only had the unit for a week... Let's hope it will hold up ok!

1-0 out of 5 stars Defective Product
I had just purchased the humidifier and followed all instructions to set up the system. After running for 15 seconds, the machine's reset button started to blink, which by the way should only be blinking if it runs out of water. Staring dumfoundadly at a full water resevoir, I followed their reset procedure only to have the same thing happen again...and again...and again. When I called customer service, they explained that the only time the reset light will come on is if there's no water left in the resevoir or if there is a mineral build up on the heating element. I explained that I had just bought the system less than an hour ago so there's no chance that there is a build up of any kind and that the tank is full. Their response was to return it and bring home another system and try that one. I am definately returning it, but will not be purchasing another bionaire system, or anything that has the bionaire name printed on it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stay Away
Otherwise trustworthy Bionaire has produced a defective model. I've been through two of them now, both with similar problems. They tend to shut off despite enough water being in the tank, and no other visible problem. First one never worked right, the second lasted for two months before it continually flashed the reset light. Customer service could offer no solutions. Stay away!

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice Remote but Burping/Churping Noise
I've had this humidifier for about a week and use it at night in my bedroom. The remote is a very nice feature and will maintain the pre-set humidity level but there have been nights were it could not reach the setpoint and therefore stayed on all night. The only other drawback is that it makes this burping, churping noise while it boils the water. This can take some getting use to especially if you're use to sleeping dead quiet nights. ...
