Works like a charm!
I can't begin the explain how great this machine is. I've had it for about a month and it has made a dramatic difference in my household. The style is very pleasing and fits into any room I place it in. The only minor problem I would say is the noise level. It can be a bit high, but I have gotten used to it and the noise just blends into the background.

I especially like the three humidity settings and the digital guage for the humidity level in the room. In addition, the unit comes with a built-in handle and casters to wheel it around. When the collection tank is full, the unit beeps once and flashes a light. Removing the tank and emptying it are much easier than I thought it would be. This unit is a pleasure to have and well worth the money. I think the Bionaire company has lived-up to its name with this machine. ... Read more

No longer dry in here
This unit is fairly good in humidifying an average size bedroom (144 to 300 sq ft). The output moisture is in the form of warm steam, which is better and healthier to breathe than the cool moisture models.

Pros:

- Good steam output
- Clean, simple design
- No salt needed like older models

Cons:

- Inserting the tank feels imprecise and clumsy
- 1 full tank runs about 6-7 hours at most

convenient, but short life
I like this humidifier because it is small and compact with a clean exterior design. Last winter I bought my second one. Unfortunately it is going the same direction as the first. Initially it has nearly silent operation, which is extremely important to me. Over time it starts to gurgle more and more. I think there's a design issue of the internal components. Also, after a year of use, the heating element's material seems to be flaking off.

In short: Good, but only if you consider it to be a short term item-one season only.

noisy and moldy
I thought this would be perfect for a bedroom. and maybe it is, as long as you don't plan to sleep! A full tank will run for 6-7 hours, but the machine is incredibly noisy for about the last hour, as the water level gets lower. The sound reminds me of an older model drip coffeemaker. also, the unit needs constant cleaning. About once a week, I had to take it apart and clean out slimy, yellow-ish much that accumulated in the bottom. Didn't make me feel too good about what I was breathing. Also, there's no way to regulate the moisture level, etc. It just goes until it's out of water. I've now replaced this with a different humidifier.

my first humidifier
I knew I needed a humidifier, and I thought this would be good for a small dorm room (150 sq. ft). It's small and compact and easy to fill. But after a single use, I noticed all this mildew/mold had accumulated on the inside near the base. And just about every time I used it, I've gotten sick. Perhaps my room was too small, but I had to clean the humidifer frequently and I didn't feel like it was very smart at regulating humidity -- just kept on going til it was out of water.
