Amazon.com Review Above-floor cleaning is simplified by the Lift Off's smart attachments, in particular a super stretchy hose that offers nine feet of reach without bulking up the chassis. Other cleaning tools stored on board include a telescoping extension wand, a crevice tool, a stair tool, a dusting brush, and an upholstery tool. Handy extras range from the wide-beam headlight to the extra-gentle furniture bumper to the textured handle grip. The Lift Off comes in a snappy dark red that adds a little spice to cleaning day. Bissell includes a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard Features Reviews (30)
I bought this one after comparing it to 4 other models at the local Costco. The one I have is green and has a nifty turbo attachment as well, however was priced more than Amazon.com when calculating tax and Amazon's free shipping. If you want something that is full of features and attachments, this is the vacuum for you. However, there are so many features and attachments, the resulting vacuum is one that makes a lot of compromises. Here's the rundown in no particular order: 11. Vacuums well, but I have some newish Ikea carpet that gives off a lot of fuzz. There were still some embedded fur-balls left after a few passes. But in the machine's defense, I don't think those rugs have ever had a "real" vacuuming. All and all, it is NOT a bad vacuuming machine. It can do everything that you could ever want it to do pretty well, but nothing really great. I'm not sure if there is any other vacuum that would work better for me, and for the price, I would say this was a very fair buy. I just keep looking at the Dyson, and wondering...

Amazon.com Review The cleaner is self-propelled in both forward and reverse, though you can manually override this feature if you need to stop to work out a stain or clean upholstery. It contains a built-in heater to get cleaning solution very hot, heating tap water up to 25 extra degrees with a maximum of 180 degrees F. A separate cleaning solution tank lets you set the machine for light or heavy dispersal, and the 1-gallon tank-in-tank water container, while a bit complicated, trims down the machine's overall bulk and weight. The Proheat has several other notable features, including an oversized 6-row brush roll, a ready-to-use hose, and fingertip controls. It comes with a Scotchgard applicator, a spraying crevice tool, and a stain remover, as well as a practically bionic TurboBrush, complete with its own brush roll. Bissell also builds in a flow indicator to warn you if the tank has run dry and a heater indicator light to eliminate guessing. Helpful details include a carrying handle and quick-release hooks for the power cord. The machine comes with full-size starter bottles of Scotchgard, Bissell Fiber Cleansing Formula, and Bissell Floor Cleansing Formula. --Emily Bedard Features Reviews (13)
One word of warning: be careful with the cleaning settings...if you choose "heavy traffic" the machine eats soap like crazy! You could use two 64 oz. bottles for just two rooms if you're not careful! Since all our carpets are less than 3 years old, when we cleaned them the carpets made tons of fuzzballs that got sucked up into the machine. There doesn't seem to be anyway to pry them out until they dry and either fall out or get sucked in.

Amazon.com Review Features Reviews (62)
Pros: Cons: Overall, I have found it to be well worth the cost. It has some downsides, but it does its job well. This cleaner is NOT meant to do entire rooms with, it's best when used for spot cleaning. While it doesn't work well on old stains, it does work a little. I scrubbed at some older stains with it and they faded to about half what they were before. That being said, this is a decent product. I have not tried any similar products to compare, as this one does what I needed it to do. I highly recommend it for that reason.
The brush on the turbo just isn't stiff enough. I think there should be a stiff brush for carpets that can take a beating and a softer one for upholstery. The stain I cleaned seems to have been partially removed but some parts look brighter and lighter than others--perhaps the cleaning solution has been improved. However, the heater doesn't do much. Bissell customer service claims the heater will add 25 degrees to the heat of the water/solution mix you add to the input container. Oddly enough the instruction book says you can leave unused solution in the container and ready to go but in talking to a customer representative I was told NOT to do that because the heater will only heat cold water to 25 degrees. They recommended I pour the solution in a different container and heat it in my microwave (but do not boil) and then pour it back into the Bissell input container. Furthermore they suggest you keep unused water/solution mixture in a jar and never in the Bissell container if you will not be using it immediately. The reason I called customer service is that the second time I used the unit (within a few days of first use), the nozzle had clogged. Easily unclogged with a pin but I never had this happen with my old unit. Instructions say that if the unit doesn't spray the nozzle could be clogged but does not tell you how to unclog it. I got through to customer service right away but was thinking that if this was Sunday when they are closed I would not be able to resolve this issue immediately--best to have had those instructions in the manual. I also notice that there has been no improvement to the way the tools attach to the hose part. They snap together much like a vaccuum but in time my old unit has become very hard to push the little button down to release the tool from the hose. I have resorted to using the back of a spoon or anything else I can think of to depress this little piece of plastic. I have tried petroleum jelly around the connections hoping it would make the release easier but that did not help. I am talking about an older unit but don't understand why the new one has no improvement in this area. The suction on the Little Green Proheat is not great--even on my older unit I have wanted better suction power. I was using the turbo brush on a tightly woven garage carpet and could not understand why it just was not sucking up the dirty water. When I finally gave up on the job and took the machine to the kitchen sink to clean it up I discovered the turbo brush water intake area was clogged with dog hair even though I had thoroughly vaccuumed the area before using the Proheat. This is not a problem experienced with my older unit but then it doesn't have a turbo brush and the intake area of dirty water on the regular brush seems to have a larger opening. I guess I should have resumed the suctioning once I discovered the dog hair but by that time I was done with this whole thing and proceeded to empty the containers and clean the unit. Cleaning the Proheat is no easy chore. A great improvement would be a completely detachable hose. Be sure that the hose end is hanging in your sink or you will have dirty water on the floor, countertop and maybe on you. I looked into the hose and saw clumps of wet dog hair so I ran water into the hose to see if I could flush it out. That worked but it also flushed out a lot of yucky stuff into the area formerly occupied by the bottom of the dirty water tank so that created another mess. There is also an area where I could see more guck but couldn't reach it--kept probing with my fingers and wishing this machine came apart and could be properly cleaned out since once the guck dries it might really be stuck in there. Many water flushings later I think I got most or all of clumped dog hair and guck out--not easy to lift the machine and shake it upside down over the sink. No matter how many paper towels I used, I could not get all the remaining sand out of the area where the base of the dirty water tank sits. After it dried overnight I was able to vaccuum up the remaining sand with another machine. More time was spent on cleaning the Proheat than using it. Although this machine looks "cool" and it is nice to see the water levels in the tanks, you cannot stand those bottles up when they have liquid in them. This is minor but I had an occasion where I wanted to set the container down and didn't have it capped yet and that is not possible (phone rings at the worse times). I expected Bissell to have made a much better product and I don't think there's much else currently on the market for quick spot cleaning of home carpets or car interiors. The idea of this machine is great--a useful product for many people but this machine needs better design, more suction power, perhaps real "steam", detachable hose, improved tool to hose connection and easier to clean would be on my want list. Until improvements are made I will use my older model and take this new one back to the store.

My wife bought me a puppy for Christmas, and since then I wll say that I thank myself every day for deciding to buy the Little Green. I have used it almost every day since our puppy arrived, and it works great! Takes out every stain that the little girl can throw at it (at trust me she has thrown a lot!). I wouldn't reccomend it for large surface area cleaning since it would take for ever and there would be a lot of work constantly filling the clean side and dumping the dirty side. But for those little messes, it works like a champ. Haven't had any problems or leaks, but I have only had this for a little over a month. So far it has been well worth what I paid!
Her husband used it to clean the upholstry in his car and was quite enthusiastic. I used it on an area rug and thought it was only so-so. With no brush action it definitely doesn't deep clean, and while the heated water can be useful you have to be careful because hot water will set some organic stains. The hose is only 5 1/2 feet long so expect to get on your knees for the carpet stains. With those caveats, it does what it says, but I would be tempted to pay a little more and get the turbo brush model. ... Read more

A must have if you are like us and have an old dog who is having some problems remembering where he is supposed to do his business. My anxiety about my carpets has been completely relieved with this machine.
This machine is extremely easy to fill, empty, and clean. It's quite compact too, so it's easy to carry it to where you need it and to store it when you're done. The QuickSteamer does quite a good job of sucking back up what it sprays into your carpet, which is the real test of a carpet cleaner. It's easy to spray stuff into the carpet; not so easy to suck it back up. The carpet is usually only slightly damp to the touch immediately after cleaning it with the QuickSteamer, and is usually dry in just a few hours. Although the QuickSteamer lacks a moving brush, I find this is not much of an issue. The fixed brush does a reasonable job of scrubbing the carpet and allowing the cleaning solution to reach into the carpet. On the down side, the machine is a bit loud, with a very shrill high pitch. Animals and small children will flee when they see you are about to turn it on. Also, it does not do well with carpets that have a lot of dust and hair. Ideally, you should vacuum that kind of stuff before using the QuickSteamer. I find I can easily clean a carpet of 20 to 30 square feet (say a 4-foot by 6-foot rug) with the QuickSteamer, however, it starts to feel a bit onerous on a larger area, such as an 8-foot by 10-foot rug. It's really not designed for such a task, so if that's your need, then you should probably consider purchasing a larger machine. I can honestly say that the QuickSteamer does about as good a job as the big heavy machines I have rented. The lot of them, the QuickSteamer and all the rented machines, have all succeed in removing a shocking amount of gunk from even seemingly clean carpets. The QuickSteamer did manage to get out a stain that a large rented machine left behind, however. All things considered, I think the QuickSteamer is an outstanding machine. It's well worth the modest price.

Amazon.com Review Designed for bare floors and carpet, the DigiPro's floor nozzle has edge-cleaning construction, five different heights, a 13-inch cleaning path, and a wide headlight. You can adjust suction with the variable power controls, using low for delicates, economy for normal cleaning, and high for ground-in dirt. Or, leave it on automatic to make use of Bissell's digital detection system. The 5-row brush roll can be switched off if necessary, and the wand telescopes to accommodate different user heights or hard-to-reach tasks. The washable HEPA filtration is a boon to allergy sufferers--it traps up to 99.9 percent of ragweed, dust mites, and pollen. The DigiPro is useful for above-floor jobs and stairways, too, with a compact shape that fits onto stairs, and a dusting brush, upholstery tool, and crevice attachment stored onboard. Handy extras include a bag-change indicator, fingertip switches, automatic cord rewind, and oversized toe-tap buttons. Large casters, swivel-glide wheels, and a comfortable carrying handle enhance maneuverability. For storage, the nozzle can be parked in two places on the canister, which stores either upright or horizontal. Bissell includes 12 extra vacuum bags to get you started. --Emily Bedard Features Reviews (6)
"I have been advised that the air release you describe is in the design of the machine and this issue is not unique to your vacuum. It is normal for some air to pass through the filter and some to vent from the bottom of the machine. The air that passes through the HEPA filter captures over 99.9% of dust mites, pollen, and ragweed." No offence to the customer support agent she just gave information what she had to give (provided by tech department, I believe) But still.. this is a crap. How come HEPA filer could work if more than 90% of airflow goes not through the filter?! If you do not care about HEPA filter, it still very good choice - it's quiet, has a nice look, very good telescoping pipe.
IT WORKED BEAUTIFULLY ON MY HARDWOOD FLOORS, picked everything up, and I have not admittedly swept or vacuumed them since before Thanksgiving, PLUS I had just gotten rid of some cats, so there was litter to sweep up - just make sure the beater bar is turned off, but the suction is turned on (which it is not turned on out-of-the-box), either that or you have a defective product. On top of that, it's lightweight, swivels nicely, is quiet (as vacuums go), easy to lug about the apartment, has strong suction power, the bag appears to be easy to replace, and the attachments are fabulous - I actually prefer the smaller size. The trim around my floors is carved and caked w/years of re-painting; so, it was hard to clean them w/a rag - the crevice tool worked like a charm. I also cleaned a couch w/rather rough upholstery, two chairs w/smooth, silky upholstery, and a my computer chair with the upholstery attachment; as well as sweeping the window sills and attempting even to sweep the blinds with the dusting attachment. All of them rated 5 star in my book... So unless you are really super duper concerned w/all that HEPA filter jazz another reviewer was complaining about, I would highly recommend this product. I've used really bad, old canisters, and mostly used uprights, and this vacuum is the best - if you have hardwood floors the canister is the way to go, but, even on carpets, I think I would prefer this particular model to an upright anyday, which are generally heavy and clunky to lug around, in my opinion (I originally tested the floor model on the berber carpet at LnT and it worked very well there, too, but I couldn't say for higher/thicker/whatever carpets).
Turns out the Bissell is the exact opposite problem. When I turn on the brushes, it does quite a good job of cleaning our area rugs, but when I turn off the brush, it refuses to pick up anything more substantial than a dust bunny from the hardwood floor. It seems that the base is too wide to allow substantial suction, and there is nothing coming in contact with the floor to dislodge any stuck particles. I dumped a small amount of fresh cat litter on the hardwood floor and tried to pick it up with the Bissell. Very unsatisying, I could have done it faster and more thoroughly with a broom and dustpan. It seems that a different attachment would work much better for bare floors than the standard one with the brushes, but alas, the one that comes with the vacuum is only about 3 inches wide. The claim that this vacuum works great for both carpet and hardwood seems totally bogus to me. Some other notes: Summary: I wouldn't recommend this vacuum for anyone with more than a few patches of hardwood floor. ... Read more

I have three little dogs, and we heat with wood which brings wood for the woodstove in over the carpet. I have an excellent cyclonic hepa-filter vacuum cleaner, but I also need a WORKING steam cleaner for my carpets, as well, and not one which is in the shop all the time. I have tried two of these Pro-heats, and the next one I buy will be the Hoover model. I have read the reviews on that one, and there are complaints about quality for that product, as well, but I am still going to give it a try. I am THROUGH with the Bissel even though it was easy to set up and use and did quite a good job. It is just too unreliable. Bissel needs to get their act together and do some serious quality control improvement on this machine!
Recently, I just bought one at BestBuy for $... (opened box item) and also bought the 4 years extended warranty for $.... This machine is alright. It does what it promised. The complaints I have is that it doesn't have the option to turn off the suction and let the brush brushes a while so it clean more effectly. The soap and water must be replaced too often even just for small area. Also, the whole unit is all plastic and it's brittle. The last unit I owned was broke at the foot lever (tilt release). I did not have a chance to compare this to other brand such as Hoover. I only bought this based on the decent price opportunity. Overall, I like this machine although I think Bissel could improve more. I wouldn't have any complaint if the price is $..., otherwise, it is way overpriced.

However, it has not stood up well with use. The two roller brushes which pick up stuff fall out often now since the plastic sides of the sweeper have become warped. The rollers are held in by a simple tab in hole design, and this is rather flimsy. Because of this, I haven't been able to use it much since it developed this problem. It still has it's use as a fun cleaning toy for my kids though. While I vacuum my 3yo son likes to use the sweeper to imitate me vacuuming. It's light enough that he can push it around with ease and practice saying "'scuse me peese" lol :-). So, for the investment which isn't too much, I got a usefull sweeper which held up for about a year, which could be graduated to a toy after it wore out.
but it still has been a great help in cleaning up from infants after feeding (cherrios, crumbs etc..) I am now looking for a different model by either same or different company, which does not havethese problems.

Amazon.com Review Bissells ProHeat cleaner has a DirtLifter Powerbrush with six rows of brushes for lifting out embedded dirt particles and utilizes its 12 amps of strong suction to pull them in. The built-in heater keeps tap water 25 percent hotter than most steam cleaners do and distributes a mixture of warm water and cleaning solution into carpets to provide the most effective cleaning. Completely safe on stain-resistant carpets, the ProHeat can apply a Scotchgard protector formula during cleaning to reduce the amount of wear on the stain-resistant coating. Besides carpeting, this cleaner can be used on home and automobile upholstery and has a 9-foot hose to reach into tight spaces. The ProHeat has a wide, 12-inch path and its onboard accessories include a spraying crevice tool, a tough stain tool, a Scotchgard applicator, a cartridge, and a TurboBrush. Bissell covers this deep cleaner under a full one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde Features Reviews (7)
I have a lot of animals in my house, and when I clean the carpets, I really need to clean the carpets. This cleaner will pull probably about 90% of the grime in the carpet (it doesn't look like it should have that much dirt in it...) out on the first pass over it. This is one of those few products out there that really works like the commercials show it does as long as you follow the directions: You need to make sure that heater is finished heating the water before you begin or you'll just be making a mess until it is hot enough to actually do some cleaning--this is probably the number one complaint I hear about this cleaner and its because they are not waiting for the heating to finish. The next things that people always do wrong is the the settings need to be switched back to the Water Only setting while the machine is not in use or the soap lines will clog up. As long as you store the cleaner properly it works like a dream (or a commercial) everytime no matter how bad the mess is. Also, for anyone who has long-haired pets: this cleaner will clean up the giant clumps of wet hair tangled in the carpet with no problems at all. The biggest drawback is that the self-propel feature is kind of worthless is tight spaces because you have to have quite a bit of room to swing the cleaner around and get all the angles. You won't be able to run this around the furniture--you'll actually have to move the furniture out of the way if you want to do a decent job cleaning.
The dual tank seemed a good idea until I used it. I was dumping a lot of clean hot water down the drain. It was nearly impossible to get the carpet shed/fuzz out of the tank because you cannot remove the clean water bladder. I also was not fond of the idea that the brushes did not rotate without the suction. Some spots need to be scrubbed more than others and I found that I used more cleaning solution and water than was necessary because I could not just brush the area without removing the cleaning solution. Extremely frustrating. I am searching for a cleaner without belts and separate tanks.
BUT, I brought a brand new Bissell Proheat home and assembled it,and the tank leaked. It said on the box not to return it to the store, but I certainly didn't want to keep something brand new that was defective. Anyway, I took it back to the store and they kindly (Wal-Mart)exchanged it. I immediately checked the tank on the new machine before going to the trouble of assembling the whole thing and again the tank is leaking. It leaks around the footplate that is held on at the bottom of the tank with three screws. I am really frustrated as I loved the way this machine cleaned but am getting tired of returning it. Surely Bissell can make a tank that doesn't leak. With elderly pets who have accidents,I need something NOW, so will probably look at another make of cleaner. Have I just been unlucky, or has this been a problem with these machines? ... Read more
