Never do manual again
This thing is fabulous. I got CHEAP too at a huge statewide store. I like my fresh onions grated very fine, this thing does no prob. I highly recommend I just love it.

One of the most useful kitchen gadgets I own
I received the Ergo as a Christmas gift. At first, I really didn't think it would see much action - we'd just purchased a higher-end combination blender/processor with a gift certificate, and planned on using it often.

Six months later, and guess which has spent more time out of the closet? The Ergo. It's so very light and simple and surprisingly effective, and, unlike the blender/processor, you can store what you've chopped in the fridge right in the container! The plastic foot/lid is pure genius. I love the unit's compactness and clean, solid design.

Cleanup is a breeze. Even though the top isn't submersible, I've had no problem wiping it thoroughly enough with a soapy wet cloth if I take care of it directly after chopping. The other parts are all billed as dishwasher-safe, but it takes our family of two about three or four days to fill the dishwasher, and I use the chopper more often than that.

My cute little Ergo has become a true kitchen essential. I'd be one very unhappy cook if someone were cruel enough to take it away!

Good value.
This is my 3rd mincer/chopper. I've been using this for almost 3 months, a few times a week, to chop veggies and mince small amounts of meat, as well as occasionally milling rolled oats (so they'll cook faster). It has done a great job with all these foods, even the meats! The blades are nice and sharp, and the design is simple and comfortable. The one complaint I have is with cleaning: while the blade and container are very easy to clean, the lid/motor is NOT since obviously it isn't submersible. The manual directs the user to simply wipe it clean, but if you've just minced some meat, soap and hot water would be much more ideal, to say the least. Perhaps in the future B&D could incorporate some kind of snap-off liner for the lid, that could be removed and washed well. Right now I spray it down with rubbing alcohol and wipe it down a few times.
I would have given this unit 4 or 5 stars otherwise, because it's cheaper than most others I've seen, while still doing a great job (I realize my sanitary methods sound obsessive, and they are...I worked in a lab for years doing bacterial culture, and let's just say that I've seen what's out there, and I don't want it in my food!)

my boyfriend and i were amazed at how effortlessly this little gadget chops things. as a person who has killed the motor in two cuisinart mini preps, i really was glad to see this chopper goes and goes with no sign of losing power. and the price -- amazing!

I LOVE this thing.
I purchased some inexpensive "assembly required" furniture (coffee table, entertainment center, nightstand, and few other kits). As an afterthought, I purchased this rechargeable screwdriver. I'm glad I did.

Cheaper than a full function drill (and a lot lighter), this screwdriver is small, maneuverable and just what the doctor ordered. No more sore forearms and wrists. So far I've use it to assemble furniture, take apart PC cases, screw down hard drives, add new faceplates for phone jacks, and even drove a few screws into drywall.

When the battery runs out, or you need extra torque, you can lock it into manual and turn it like a regular screwdriver. It is well built and rugged. I highly recommend this product.

No Stripping Or Over-Tightening
Let me start out my saying that I love my wife for getting me this as a gift. This is the gift that just keeps on giving.

The Black & Decker 9074TB 3.6 Volt Screwdriver is perfect for any job around the house that would involve the painstaking task of driving in screws. I just finished putting up several shelves in my bedroom, and it has never been easier thanks to this wonderful product.

The automatic spindle lock gives you much better control, allowing for no stripping or over-tightening, or even just for simple, manual use. Its sleak design and narrow nose gives you the ability to get into tight places with great ease.

This is a well-designed product with a super charge life. Besides being durable and fairly lightweight, the wall-mounting charge base should make it a lot easier to find. This screwdriver works extremely well, and will make a fine addition to any tool box.

great for the average do-it-yourselfer
I got this for my spouse and he loved it. Its easy to use, runs as long as he needs for the minor projects and repairs he does. If you are a professional who'd use a tool like this, it won't last nearly as long as you'll need. The target audience should be the average John or Jane who really just wants to make the few times a screwdriver is needed a month less work so things get fixed in a timely fashion.

JUNK - Broke after using TWICE
I received this driver for Christmas, used it twice, and then heard a loud grinding sound. After taking off the drive head, I noticed that two metal posts securing plastic gears had sheared!

By comparison, my Skil driver is going on 10 years!

B&D is JUNK!

Useful, sort of.
I used to use a B&D cordless screwdriver, but gave it away when I found it often took as long, or longer to use this tool than using a manual screwdriver. Sure, it's faster when you have a LOT of screws or very long screws, but a cordless drill is faster still, and has the advantage of variable speed and more power. Using this screwdriver to drive long wood screws is an excercise in patience as you watch it sloooowly drive the screw in and then quit halfway as it runs out of power.

Cordless screwdrivers are cheaper than drills, true, but overall I think the classic 7.2volt Makita cordless drill is just about as compact, much more versatile, much more powerful, lasts much longer and will drive a lot more screws on a charge. ... Read more

great, but not perfect
Bought this as a first citrus juicer and have been quite happy with it. Extracts pretty much all juice, is powerful and very easy to use - also light and easy to store. Problems I found? Not enough pulp makes it into the juice and strainer is hard to clean unless you do so RIGHT after juicing. And sadly, because it is just plastic, ours is now cracked and handle is broken. We're looking for a heavy duty replacement. Still, a great buy, especially for the price!

Florida Girl with Citrus Trees Approved!
This juicer is awesome. It is light and small in size which makes it not only easy to store but makes me willing use it all the time - no dread of lugging out some huge, heavy contraption. I live in South Florida and have a yard full of grapefruit, orange and key lime trees - this juicer does them all like a champ. With the two sizes of the juicing cone, one juicer takes care of all of my citrus. The strainer pops apart very easily and is a snap to clean with running water alone! You do not need to apply much pressure when using the juicer which allows you to juice many fruit in a row since your arm doesn't get tired. I love the adjustable pulp strainer - my husband likes lots of pulp, I like a little, and some friends just like the juice alone - no problem with this little workhorse. I also love that it gets all the juice out of the fruit - the fruit is dry after going on top of this machine! The juice flows right into the pitcher which makes it perfect for pouring right into your glass or into any other container - pitchers, plastic zip top bags, etc. I had looked and looked for a good juicer and most were expensive, bulky, hard to clean, etc. but not this great machine. I was skeptical since it is so cheap, but thought, "Well, what do I have to lose since I'm not spending much on it?" - now I'm in love with it. I'm such a fan that I just bought a second one to take to our vacation house!

Just like Mom's
I bought this Classic Black & Decker Iron for my elderly mother a couple of months ago. It is almost exactly like her old black iron I remember from my childhood. The steam button on her old iron was red. This one is an orange color, but other than that, it pretty much looks like her old iron.

This iron also performs like Mom's old iron. The first time she used it, she immediately put the setting on "5" for ironing cotton. She remembered that "6" was too hot for her cotton clothes (with her old iron), even though the iron says "6" is the number for ironing cotton. She was right. I ironed a pair of shorts and it did a very good job.

This iron has not leaked, but it might be a good idea to iron a few strokes on your ironing board or some spare cloth if you use water for steam, to make sure it doesn't spit or leak. But that is only at first, then you should be good to go. The cord is of average length, like the old irons. And like I said above, the iron gets extremely hot on high settings so you might want to put it on the lowest steam setting at first to test it.

I am giving this iron five stars because it is what it says it is - a classic iron. I would rather have an iron like this than any of the weird looking new-fangled irons. Thanks to Black & Decker for bringing back a small part of my childhood, and making my mother happy.

The Best Can Opener I Ever Had
After reading the recent negative reviews on this can opener, I had to write a review of my own. I bought this can opener in November, 2002, and I have had none of the problems mentioned by some of the other reviewers. The can opener may be a little tricky to attach to the can the first time or two you use it, but it is easy once you get the hang of it. The head is removable for easy cleaning, but it doesn't just fall off. You have to lift it all the way up and slide it out to remove it. It's easy to line up the opener in the charging base (there's only one way to put it). As far as making cans top-heavy, with small cans (up to condensed soup size), I just hold the opener and let the can turn. I keep my opener on the charging base, so I haven't had any trouble with it holding a charge. It has plenty of power and has opened every can I've ever tried it on. It may conk out tomorrow, but for now, I'm very happy with this can opener.

Love it so much I am buying one to reserve!
Best automatic can opener I have ever owned, and I have used up at least 4 or 5 in forty years. I have moderate Carpal Tunnel symptoms, and this helps avoid aggravating that condition. I find it easy to use on really large cans, unlike plug-in designs. Blade assembly does not come out unintentionally, and it is, again, easiest to clean of any I have used. It does not hold a strong charge left more than 24 hours outside cradle, but you just need to keep it in its charger. Get used to glancing at the notch which means it is seated properly in the charger. I agree, it would not work well for a left-hander. But then, what model does?

Great if you're right handed
I had a stroke that affected my right side so I mainly use my left. I bought the one they have at Walmart that looks slightly different than this one but is the same thing just a different handle. It worked yes, but took me forever to get on the can right without the can sliding around. Need one that will work for right or left handers.

I have this can opener. I didn't buy it from Amazon. The can opener works great for my husband (right handed) but for me I fight it all the time. I am left handed and I think that might be why. If I use my right hand I have hardly any trouble. It's hard for me to use my right hand thou.There are times if my husband is not home I say forget it I didn't want to eat what is in the can that bad. It's just really hard for me to use.

Piece of Trash
I wish I had my old B&D cordless Can Opener. It was 100 times better than this "newer" model. I hate the way it works--or rather fails to work.
The unit is difficult to place securely in the charger. Sometimes one cannot tell if it's properly placed for recharging.
The cutter blade falls out easily, not to mention how difficult it is to get it on a can. Also it is so slow in cutting that I think that it may be possible to go on an extended vacation before it's finished cutting. ... Read more

A must have to keep counter clear
This is a must have to keep your toaster oven off the counters. I just ordered a new Black & Decker toaster oven, and it is white. This mount is black, so I bought High Temperature spray paint and painted it white. It now matches all my kitchen appliances and the new toaster oven. One draw back of this item is that if you have a heavy coat of laquer on your cabinets, the heat that is given off from this hood can soften the coat of laquer,

Good Coffee but a Few Drawbacks
Pros:
- Good tasting hot coffee.
- Includes permanent filter.

Cons:
- Coffee mug is plastic, which means hot coffee rapidly turns warm.
- Besides the removable lid, the coffee mug consists of two pieces, a black container and a brown outer housing. Water tends to seep between the container and housing after a few hand-washings or one run through the dishwasher. You must separate the two pieces to remove the water. That's when you'll discover the seal between the two is simply a thin rubber band.
- Coffee grounds ALWAYS attach to the overhead where the hot water enters the grounds chamber, which means a little extra effort cleaning the unit between brews.
- Coffee grounds frequently enter the water reservoir and seep between the permanent filter and the filter housing, which means even more effort cleaning the unit between brews.

Messy
I had this coffee maker for two years before I chucked it. I was hoping this would be a great little addition to my dorm room but it only ever made a mess. Maybe mine was leaky or something but another girl on my floor said she had the same problem. Regardless I have deffinatly had better brews than what this made.

Super product
I have had my current Brew 'n Go for 5 years. I don't know what others are complaining about because it makes a perfectly HOT, adequately strong cup of coffee EVERY TIME. On rare occasions when my wife made my coffee and put too much coffee in the filter, it overflowed slightly into the cup but it wasn't the fault of the product. I use a ladle, such as the ones supplied in many coffee cans. Put 2 ladles in and keep your basket and holder clean. Run a cup full of vinegar through once a month to clean it and you'll never have a problem. I suppose like any product, there may be the odd lemon out there waiting to be taken off some retailer's shelf but this is the second one of these coffeemakers I've had in the past 10 yrs and I've had no problems.

Hmmm...maybe I have a defective unit
After reading the other reviews, I was surprised to note no one mentioned the single problem I have with my Brew 'N Go: The grounds float into the water reservior and down the outside of the permanent filter as it's brewing, causing the coffee to have grounds in it. It also causes quite a mess.

I must say, though, it does a nice job - I like the taste of the brew. The only other issue I have is it gets the coffee too hot - which might be a good thing if you're commuting.

Great Coffee Maker for one
I absolutely love this coffee maker. I have one for the home and one for the office. It saves me time in the morning by having the coffee already in the cup and allows me to enjoy my gourmet coffee at work without the extra cost. I have heard complaints that the coffee is too weak. I use 1 1/2 T -2 T and it works just fine. I will admitt it does dripple a little after the coffee is finished, a little price to pay for the convience it gives me. Black & Decker Toast-R-Oven = one big burnout
I have only had the oven (purchased new) for two months! The bake and broil options quit working today, yet the toast option still works!?!?? Anyhow, don't know if I just got a *lemon,* or maybe all of the Black & Decker toaster ovens are bad. Either way, I won't purchase another Black & Decker small appliance again. I won't need to, there are many other companies to choose from that have supplied me with long lasting products.

It took them 30 years to make a usable crumb tray.
Finally, I can empty my crumbs without lifting my toaster oven. The front opening tray is a change they should have made a long, long time ago. I'll have to admit, before this, my tray was pretty nasty looking. Now I can clean it all the time. I will! Really!

On the minus side, I can't get used to pushing a button to make toast instead of flipping a lever, but I suppose I'll get over it. This is my fifth toaster oven, and except for the inconvenient toast button and the convenient crumb tray, it isn't very different from the first one. However there is another difference. The hanging bracket that fit the last few models won't work with this one, so It has to take up counter space. That's disappointing, but not earth shattering. What really ticks me off is that they don't tell you that BEFORE you buy the thing.

I suspect this won't be my last Toaster Oven, but I hope they're through making changes.

Defective toaster
Toaster worked fine at first, then about six months later it started taking longer and longer to toast. The oven temp. appears to work fine, however, even at the darkest setting, you must toast a piece of bread twice! Unfortunately, since we received this as a gift and did not start using it right away, it is no longer under warranty and we are stuck with it. If it had still been under warranty, you would have to pay them $5 to ship you a new one. Since their product is defective, I would expect them to pay for the shipping to replace it.

Not the quality I would expect from Black & Decker
I purchased this toaster oven/broiler yesterday and returned it today. It didn't work at all. Didn't warm up, didn't light up. I was going to exchange it, but when I saw the poor construction I decided to return it and shop for a different brand. The door doesn't line up, and neither does the flimsy crumb drawer.

Too hot too handle
I decided to give B&D a go since they tend to be rated rather high. 4 years ago I attempted to buy a moderately priced toaster oven and bought a B&D but when I got it home almost burned my hand on the top of it while it was toasting. I returned it for a Toastmaster which was much more insulated and not so hot. Well, my beloved Toastmaster died so I decided to give B&D another shot and lo and behold - burned my finger tip on the top of it when I tested it out. It radiates a dangerous amount of heat and any child or adult for that matter could get seriously burned. The RC850 is a handsome kitchen tool, with a large, squared-off body encased in bright, easy-to-clean chrome. The click-locking lid has a strong, pocket-like carrying handle; the stay-cool lid is made of lacquer-polished black plastic. On the underside of the lid, a removable steam shield helps keep the scalding steam away from the lid and directs moisture back into the rice. The deep nonstick cooking bowl is removable for easy cleaning; a sturdy white plastic steaming rack rests inside the upper lip of the bowl to suspend food above the water. A small plastic measuring cup and white plastic rice paddle are included; there's even a holder for the paddle on the back of the rice cooker.

To preserve the nonstick coating of the cooking bowl, use wooden, rubber, or plastic utensils such as the accompanying rice paddle. Vinegar (used to prepare short-grain rice for sushi) may slowly corrode the nonstick surface. Do not use abrasive scrubbers or cleansers on any part of the rice cooker. The nonstick rice bowl, steam tray, paddle, scoop, and detachable steam shield are all dishwasher safe. Re-season the bowl after every dishwasher cleanings by wiping the bowl with a little cooking oil. Unplug rice cooker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. The body of the rice cooker is not immersible. Wipe clean with a mild detergent and a damp, nonabrasive sponge or cloth; rinse and dry completely. Clever design, works well
Very pleasing design, this can opener has a rounded, attractive appearance when tucked under your cabinets. As I see it, it has two main benefits:

1) As it hangs under your kitchen cabinet, it frees up space on your counters, leaving room for other appliances.

2) Because it is off the counter, you can open any size can with it. I really like this, because I often cook in bulk and need to open BIG cans--my old can opener did not have enough room between the counter and the top of the can opener to place large cans.

The can opener is also easy to clean, as the blade is in an assembly that easily slides out for cleaning.

The clock and timer aren't of much use to me as every darn appliance in my kitchen already has a clock.

One caveat: the installation instructions have you place the can opener far too much to the front of the cabinet so that it actually sticks out from the cabinet. If I had it to do over again, I would move it back under the cabinet.
