A fine carafe
Ah, what a splendiferous carafe. The only problem is that when your wife catches the iron cord on the handle and yanks it off the counter, it breaks into many many pieces, necessitating replacement. Perhaps next time around Braun can attach the base of the handle to the carafe itself, making such accidents less likely. ... Read more

For those coffee drinkers who enjoy honoring the tradition by using filtered or purified water, this is a great addition to that freshly brewed morning pot. Chemical additives to tap water--chlorine is a common one--affect the flavor of both the water and any beverages made with that water. Why settle for less than a perfect cup of coffee? Pretty good water filter
I received this water filter two days after I placed the order. I'm happy with the fast service. As for the water filter, you might want to consider rinsing it after taking it out from the package before inserting it into the coffee maker. Also, I ran water through the coffee maker twice before making the first pot of coffee for the peace of mind. If you have paper filter placed before running the water, you will be able to see little green particals in it at the end of the process.

Great Item, but can't find it anywhere.
The water filter for the Braun Flavorselect 12 cup coffee maker Model KF187 is a great design. I rate it #5 for it's design, but since my original purchase of the coffee maker, I can't find the filter units anywhere.

A Good Idea, But a Scarce Item
I've enjoyed my Braun coffee maker, and this filter is one of the reasons. I have well water that already tastes great, but some grit gets into the tap water, and this filter takes care of that. People often say what I great cup of coffee I make, but I use perfectly ordinary coffee, just with really great water.

However... these filters are expensive and virtually impossible to find. No major retailer seems to carry them, and the Braun customer service center is only open during business hours, and does not seem to have a website that I can find... This filter system would be a lot more appealing if it were easier to buy and replace, and also cheaper.

Works well, but is horribly overpriced!
It really does make a difference when some of the chlorine is filtered out of your coffee (and even more so in your bourbon) water, but these filters are a rip off price-wise. It's hard to believe Braun wouldn't make money selling them at a third of the price.

GREAT PRODUCT-BUT HARD TO FIND
Our water is just horrible. Prior to purchasing this coffee maker and several of the little filters, I would just replace coffee makers every couple of months. No amount of cleaning would help. Good, not great
This boat motor does the job, but takes forever to get it done. Its limited power of 200 watts is a severe hindrance. Merely pureeing carrots in chix stock (quart total volume) left quite a few chunks after nearly 30 seconds of blending. It is however, easy to clean and quieter than your average blender or food processor. Do yourself a favor and get the Braun 430, with 50% more power and only a minor price difference.

Must-have kitchen gadget!
I bought this product in order to prepare my special butternut squash soup this Thanksgiving. In the past, I've had to transfer the soup to a blender in order to liquify it to the proper consistency. This year preparation was SO much easier thanks to this Braun handheld blender. It works like a charm on smoothies, too. The best part is the easy cleanup--you just pull the attachment off the end and throw it in the dishwasher. No bells,No whistles,No nothing
When i bought this in 1994 it sold for $50 and the problem i have had is this has not died on me yet!!!!!!It has a swing out basket,on/off switch.a basic model with aroma select that really does not do much!Pretty okay for the occasional coffee drinker.I would buy this if you are looking for something very basic,(very unlike today's models),very simple,easy to maintain.This will work well if you want to give your college bound kid something basic for his/her dorm a new one instead of a old one! ...
