Breadman Fan
I love my Breadman Ultimate. It makes perfect, fluffy 100% whole wheat bread from the recipe in the book -- so perfect that even people who don't like whole wheat bread like this. This is no small thing, as whole grain bread (the only kind I want to eat) tends to be dense and sometimes a chore to eat. I like to make my own bread so that I know what is in it and so I can eat healthier. I love the dispenser for seeds, as I don't want to hang around and try not to miss the beep. I like that I can choose the loaf size, so when I have company I can make a larger loaf, instead of having to make two, and can make smaller loaves the rest of the itme so the bread is always fresh. I read some other reviews that say they have had problems with the bread pan and with ambient temperatures affecting the bread. All I can say is I have had none of those. I have had the machine for about three years and lived in a drafty house on the Canadian border and in a tight modern apartment in Michigan and have used it weekly for much of that time and see no problems. It is a little workhorse that gives consistent results. I recommned this machine highly.

Great bread machine!
I've had this bread machine for about a year and a half. It really does a nice job and is quite easy to use. We use it fairly often, especially with colder weather coming on, whenever a hot, fresh loaf of bread is desired! We've tried several of the recipes in the instruction manual and have enjoyed them all. I noticed one reviewer complained about not being able to order replacement parts. I accidentally tossed my kneading paddle in the trash and was able to quickly reorder one using the number in the manual for $8. The customer service rep was very kind and helpful. I'm planning on buying one of these machines for my parents for Christmas this year and would recommend the Breadman to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced, quality machine.

3 machines later and still NO bread
Imagine a home with two accomplished cooks. Imagine the convenience of a bread maker. Imagine eight months and three replacement products later. Imagine a Catch-22 between the manufacturer (Salton) and Amazon denying responsibility to refund our money. Imagine our outrage. Imagine the smell of warm rosemary wheat bread with English butter on a lazy Sunday morning. Well, keep imagining... we've got the third in a series of defunct Salton Breadman Ultimate setting on our kitchen counter, useless to us as anything but a paperweight. Spend your $99 USD on cooking classes and enjoy the comfort that comes from proofing your own dough.

A great bread machine!
Breadman really makes a great product. I should know since this is the third Breadman I've had. The first two are still in use and being enjoyed by their new owners. I used each machine a lot (1 or more loaves a week for years) but eventually decided to step up to a newer model. This new one is really great.
I don't think the product description really does this product justice. For me there are a lot of improvements in this machine that weren't available when I bought my last Breadman 6 or 7 years ago. In addition to making a horizontal loaf this machine has many other great features such as: a hopper for dispensing nut or raisins (not just a beep to let you know it is time to add them), a pause button, power failure backup, bake only cycle, and the ability to program 5 custom bread cycles. The price is great too.

I love making homemade bread again, more than ever!
I love the breadman. The best part is sitting watching tv and barely hearing it make wonderful bread that we will be smelling some time towards the end of the movie. I used to make bread myself. Fresh whole wheat bread and I even made a lot of sourdoughs which I must start up again with this machine. The best part is that you just stand there and watch it. No more work kneading or even wrestling with dough hooks like I used to with my Oster Mixer. It made good bread but it was difficult kneading heavy whole grains plus I had to be there 3 to 4 hours every step of the way - by hand. I have owned this machine now for almost a year. Best So Far
This is the third bread machine I've had so far and after several weeks I've had good results. My main criteria in a machine was a 2-pound capacity. The machine has a good, heavy-duty pan that is deep, even for a 2-pound capacity, that reduces the mess that flies out and collects in the bottom of the chamber during mixing. It's been very easy to clean and is quiet while operating. My only complaint is the extremely long basic bread cycle (3 hours, 40 minutes) which produces a nicely textured loaf but required much experimenting to find the right amounts of yeast and flour to make a loaf that wouldn't fall. However, the dough cycle is short (1 hour, 3 minutes) and the extra features such as a setting to make your own butter are appealing, though I haven't tried them yet. Not a bad machine--the best I've used yet.

While there are a lot of good bread machines, one feature of this model made it stand out to me: It bakes one, one-and-a-half and two pound loaves equally well. I prefer to make small loaves more often so that it's always fresh. It's practical to do so with this machine because it's simple to use and easy to clean. Also, sometimes when my husband gets especially creative, one pound is plenty. I cannot recommend, for instance, augmenting a bread mix with canned tuna, and grapes are not simply "fresher than raisins". Great product for the price!
Ordered and received this product during the holidays; Despite previous reviewers comments, I have no complaints about packaging...it arrived all in one piece. Maybe Amazon improved upon their packaging method? I've been using this panini maker for a month, and I've been very happy with it. Bread grills evenly, and the ingredients inside the panini heat sufficiently (cheese melts etc.)The finished panini always look professionally prepared. I have prepared several different panini using varied ingredients and breads, and all have come out great! One hint...bread should not be too soft or sliced too thin. Rather than brush the outside of the bread with oil as the directions indicate, I just spray both sides with cooking spray...it works fine and is not too greasy!
Only reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 is because the grill grates are not removable and so clean up is a bit of a hassle. But...don't let that stop you; this a a GREAT product for the price!

Great product at a good price!
Bought this panini maker for my husband who loves any type of melt sandwich. This thing grills your bread to perfection, no matter what type you use and the top grill cover presses down on your sandwich to make a true panini. It is large enough to accomodate 4 regular-sized sandwiches or 2 very large ones and it is so easy to clean. The product is very heavy and a bit large to store, but we have been enjoying all sorts of sandwich recipes (from the panini cookbook Amazon sells). You definitely get plenty of bang for your buck and I'm glad we didn't spend any extra money for a different product. This one is perfect.

Great panini maker
I agree with all of the positive reviews on this panini maker. I debated whether or not I really wanted to get another appliance, and thought I would take it home and try it out to see if the sandwiches it made were as good as the ones you could order in restaurants--and boy, are they ever! No second thoughts on this item--I'm hooked. Not only are the sandwiches as good, they're better. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves good sandwiches--they don't get any better than this. Very easy to use and clean as well.

5 Stars For The Money
My son has the $80 Krups model and raves and raves about it. I was going to purchase this model but after reading the great reviews for the $39.99 Breadman I decided to go with this one. I am so happy that I did. Unbelievable for the price. We made toasted cheese sandwiches the first night and they were as good as any restaurant could make. Don't waste your money on the higher costing models. This will do exactly what you want for half the price.

Fantastic !!
This is a bread makers dream. This is a bread maker that is high tech., yet simple to use. It has many features not avaiable on other makers, (and I've gone through two others). This machine allows you to customize the bread you want to make, various types and batters, sizes and crusts...and more.
It has a hard crust feature to replicate the European crusts. It even does bagels that come out as bought at the deli.

I only bought this machine to make sourdough bread from scratch. If you are fine with store bought mix than save some money and buy a different machine. It doesn't have 300 cycles, it comes with a manual that has 300 recipes. It bakes bread just fine, but so does the 8 year old toastmaster that I bought for $50.
