Can you say WHEW HOOO!
After 3 Mr. Coffee coffee makers dying on me in the same amount of years I decided it was time to invest some money in one that might last me longer then 6-8 months! The design of the Bunn is simple and easy to use and who can complain about having HOT coffee in about 3 minutes time! The other feature I am THRILLED with is that my boy friend and I work different schedules which requires him to be up at 4am and me not until around 7am. With other makers, you normally have an automatic shut off after 2 hours and I refuse to reheat coffee in the microwave because I want the taste of fresh brewed as well. (yeah so I'm spoiled!) In the past I would always throw out whatever he hadn't drunk and brew my own. I was pleasently surprised to find that when I went for my 1st cup several hours after he had already been at work, the coffee was still hot in the Thermal Carafe and not nasty tasting after having sat on a warming plate for hours. I recommend this maker to anyone that likes coffee and wants it fast, tasty and hot! Well worth the money!

Smooth Coffee, Hassle in the beginning
I just retired my Cuisine Art Grind and Brew after slowly died for 4 yrs. My husband wanted another one, but he was not the one who had to clean it everday. I am now a stay at home mom with an infant and a 2 yr. old. I NEED GOOD COFFEE AND I NEED IT AS SOON AS I DRAG MY SLEEP-DEPRIVED BODY OUT OF BED! I get up a few hours later than hubby, so I wanted a thermal carafe as I was tired of drinking scorched coffee. I also wanted something attractive and easy to clean. THE MOST important thing I wanted was EASY and EXCELLENT Coffee.

The initial set up was kind of a hassle. I don't like leaving the coffee maker plugged in and turned on all of the time. It has a vacation switch and Bunn recommends using this if you are not going to use it for 3 days. The coffee is SMOOTH and EXCELLENT. It stays hot for about 2 hrs, but after 3 it is lukewarm. I was hoping it would stay hotter longer. It is so easy and fast to make a fresh pot, I am willing to put up with it. Overall, I am very pleased with the taste of the coffee. I am amazed how the taste is even better than my Grind and Brew delivered.

My mom always had a bunn coffee maker, for as long as I can remember. When I got married 7 years ago, I received the same coffeemaker. It is still going strong today. When my brother got married, it was the obvious wedding gift. They love their's too. It is a great long term investment. The lid certainly does not leak-as another review stated.

A great buy!
My mother - and my grandmother - had been at me for years to buy a Bunn coffeemaker, but I'm stubborn... When my last coffee pot died, I decided to give in and buy a Bunn from Target. But I didn't buy the same model... I bought the thermal carafe brewer (for an updated look!), even thought it cost a bit more. <br /> <br /> I absolutely LOVE this machine!! I cannot believe how fast it brews the coffee. And the thermal pot keeps the coffee hot for hours, without the use of a burner, so the coffee always tastes fresh. I love the fact that I don't have to keep the pot with the machine - I can sit it on the kitchen table when company comes, because the bottom always stays cool. <br /> <br /> I like this machine so much that I'm encouraging people at work to get one as well! It is well worth the investment.

THIS COFFEE MAKE IS AWESOME
We received this coffee maker as a wedding gift. My husband thought it was crazy that anyone would spend this price on a coffee maker when you can get one for $20. After tasting one cup of coffee from this coffee maker, he changed his mind! Because the coffee maker holds a reservoir of hot water, the coffee when it is brewed comes out hot. Most of the time with regular coffee makers, the coffee comes out luke warm and you have to nuke it in the microwave. Not with this one. We absolutely love this machine. No problem with set up or anything. We highly recommend it!

This is the way to brew coffee
Over the last month I have purchased four coffee brewers and returned them while searching for the best machine I could find. When I received my Bunn, I was impressed with the quality and design of the machine right off. Once I made my first pot of coffee I knew this was the one I had been searching for. While this is the latest Bunn design for home use, it functions very similar to the more standerd version. The initial setup takes a bit of thought and preperation because unlike other brewers, the Bunn alsays keeps a pot of hot water ready to brew. So you first have to fill up the storage tank, then add another pot and only then turn on the machine and wait about fifteen minutes for it to warm up. Once you have accomplished the initial setup, making a cup of java is as simple as one, two, three. Just put your coffee in the filter, and place it in the holder, add the water and close the swivel top. Almost immediately you have coffee flowing into your pot. Ten cups in less than three minutes. Want another pot, just one, two, three again. Here are some of the things I noticed. Compared to other brewers, this one weighs more. I suspect that is do to the fact that unlike the cheeper brewers it is not all plastic, but rather has a stainless heating tank etc. The light which indicates the warming pad is active is lighted and easy to see from anywhere you roam. The unit comes with a Three Year warranty from the manufacturer. The pot has a wide mouth which makes it easy to clean. The warming plate is coated for easy clean-up. It is made in the good old U S of A. SUMMARY: If you want a well made, simple to use, coffee brewer that makes great coffee in less than three minutes. If you want to make a statement that you know about coffee and how to brew it. If you insist on quality, then this is the one for you. If on the other hand you want a bright red or blue designer piece of plastic, with little lights, a clock and timer. Just Bought Another One
This year my wife & I will celebrate our 25th anniversary. We got one of these units as a wedding gift in 1978. I won't tell you we've still got the original; the new one we just bought is our fifth. We keep buying this product because it makes good coffee and it does so in a hurry. After 25 years, our Bunn-O-Matic is a part of the family!

This coffee maker is different from most of its competitors in that it is basically a miniature hot-water tank. Whereas most coffee makers heat the water as they go, the Bunn stores enough inside to make a full pot. The water is always hot. When you want coffee (or just hot water) there's no waiting. Typically, we make about a pot-and-a-half a day. It's nice to always have the hot water ready.

Over the years, we've gotten anywhere from 5 to 9 years out of each of our Bunn-O-Matics. Like all hot-water tanks, if you keep one long enough it will eventually start to leak. Others of our units, however, have failed after several years of daily use due to one or the other of the heating elements going out. We've also had other complaints. Twice we had to return a new unit (to [local store], at the time) because the first pots of coffee came out with a burnt metallic taste. Presumably this was due to a manufacturing problem that has since been corrected. Our latest unit doesn't seem to suffer from this problem.

Another complaint worth noting is as follows: Because the Bunn-O-Matic dispenses water much faster than other coffee makers, we have had some trouble with generic grocery-store brand filters overflowing and letting grounds down in the pot. (This is actually more of a complaint about the cheap filters than the coffee maker.) The Bunn brand filters are just enough larger than the generic ones to prevent overflow. If you use less coffee or make partial pots, this won't be a problem. But if you like to make full pots of strong coffee, you will probably find you need to stick with Bunn-brand filters unless you don't mind some grounds in the bottom of the decanter.

The "new" Bunn model selling today (the GR10) is practically identical to the one we got 25 years ago as a wedding gift. They have tweaked some features and spruced up the external design a little bit, but it is essentially the same. Don't be fooled by the 10-cup claim, however. Bunn increased the "capacity" from 8 to 10 cups by increasing the size of the decanter by two ounces (from 48-oz to 50-oz) and redefining the size of a cup down from 6-oz to 5-oz. Otherwise, the machine seems nearly identical to the 8-cup version they used to sell. Many of the accessory parts (decanters, funnels, etc.) are still interchangeable, and the unit is the same physical size. The "new" 10-cup capacity is just marketing hype.

They did, however, raise the price a lot. We were shocked! I think we paid about $$$ for our previous unit at [local store]back in 1992 ([local store]doesn't sell them anymore). I couldn't believe the current $$$ price tag. We bought one anyway.

Still, we remain fond of our Bunn-O-Matic and will probably keep buying them if they keep making them. We think you too will like the product.

BEST Coffeemaker there is !!
When it comes to my coffee, "picky" doesn't begin to describe me.

When I first started drinking coffee (MANY years ago) I bought the usual, Mr. Coffee. That coffeemaker didn't last a year. Neither did any of the coffeemakers I bought after that (Krups, Braun, etc.). Not only did they not last through brewing 2-4 pots a day for 12 months (I have to share the coffee with my husband) , but the coffee they made was HORRIBLE ! And the waiting almost 15 minutes for a full pot to brew was agony especially in the mornings when I forgot to set the timer the night before (who knows when they are going to wake up on a Saturday ?), or hubby drank the last of the coffee.

Then I bought my Bunn ... well, lets just say that I am NEVER, EVER going to buy another brand coffeemaker.
A full pot of coffee in less than 3 minutes, its hot and makes the BEST coffee EVER !! Even cheap coffee tastes better made in a Bunn. Everyone that comes to my house and has coffee with us wants to know why our coffee is so good. It's the Bunn.

I am so excited to see that they offer a coffeemaker with a insulated carafe instead of the glass carafe that sits on a burner, basically scorching the coffee if it isn't consumed in less than 30-45 minutes. A serious coffee drinker knows that "cooking" the coffee is not a good thing ! Since I fell in love with my Bunn in 1993, the new carafe is the only reason I want to buy a new one ... other than everyone I know wants to inherit my old one.

There is a little joke that runs in my house at coffee time ... "it's a Bunn, it's done, and it's YUM!"

The Best
We won't buy any other coffee maker....but only practical if you're a household who runs a coffee bar type atmosphere, i.e. lots of guests who because of the Bunn, won't have to wait over three minutes for their cup of coffee. We've had at least five of them over the years...some last as long as seven years, some only three or four..but compared to the Mr Coffees, etc. that's a long time!

Great Product
My Parents had one of these. They told me it worked Great. They liked the idea of having a fresh pot of coffee in under 3 minutes. They had theres for a little over 10 years and never had a problem with it. After 10 Years it finally quit working. I bought another one for them for Christmas. I just hope this one will last 10 Years. GREAT PRODUCT. How many other products out there do you know of that will last for over 10 years with everyday use?? I Can't think of any.

A Wonderful coffee maker if you don't have a water softener
I have repaired the damage a water softener has done to my Bunn, I wouldn't have any other coffee maker. If you ever need to fix yours go here.

It Is Smaller Than Advertised On Amazon!!
Just received it. It is tiny!! 4x8x10. Not what is advertised on Amazon! Looks like the one we want to replace!! What a pain!! Now I have to go through the pain of returning, questions, etc. Amazon is no help. No phone!

Bunn Coffee Grinder......The Best!!!
I bought this grinder about 2 years ago and still running strong!Only thing that went wrong is the rubber seal on grinder cup wore out.I called bunn company customer service and they sent me whole new cup with new seal AND sent me extra rubber seal....Now thats service!!!

Almost perfect (gotta leave room, just in case...)
I've used the professional versions while working in a restaurant and the other heavy-duty versions in business offices. I always wanted one at home but could not justify the cost (and space) for a two- or three-burner on my kitchen counter.

Now, with two retirees in the home, we brew three or four pots coffee a day. We've had to replace coffee makers at least once a year so we've owned several different brands. Each has had its strengths and weaknesses.

I bought this model after seeing it in an office while on travel. I've had it for two weeks and I've got that feeling that this, unlike the others, is the right one for us.

The brew time is so fast, we don't need the timer function. Since we only brew full pots - a lesson we learned earlier - the quality is the same, pot-to-pot, decaf or regular.

I can offer at trick to other users. Since the paper filter is inexpensive, put one below the coffee and another on top. This model, because it brews so fast, sprays a lot of water on the grounds. The method of sandwiching the grounds between layers of filter will prevent the grounds from escaping and getting into the carafe.

"Warmer" needs to be warmer!
If you want a fast cup of coffee, the Bunn is the way to go. If you want a HOT cup of coffee, it most definitely is not. The coffee is OK when first brewed, but if you want a reasonably hot cup of coffee after that, you'd better have a microwave close by. The warmer is just that on a Bunn - WARM!

Great, but the filters.
I have had the home version of Bunn for over 20 years and it makes one heck of a cup of coffee. Recently, after getting the Bunn out of storage and buying a few packs of filters, I noticed the filter quality has gone done considerably. I sent off an email to Bunn telling them so. The response was from someone who didn't understand. If you turn them inside out and mangle them the way they told me to, you end up going through lots of filters. Once the folds are messed with, it could let the stream of hot water get behind the filter and fold it over and allow coffee grounds to get into the pot. They need to fix this problem or I won't buy another one.

When we first bought the Bunn,we loved how fast it brews.We still do,but the coffee is not hot! We have to heat even the first cup in the microwave! We have contacted Bunn,but got no reply.The coffee maker is less than a year old.Looking for something new.

I have always had a Bunn Coffeemaker. All of our families have always had Bunn's. So far as long as I can remember, we have only had wonderfull coffee when it was made in a Bunn. When we visit other's homes and we are offered coffee, it is a shame to ruin good expensive coffee when it it made in anything other than a Bunn. I belong to a coffee club and we use only gourmet coffee and it is just not the same when we even give soomeone our coffee and it is made in the OTHER coffeemakers.
