Amazon.com Review

A rare feature among hard-anodized cookware, Anolon Titanium isactually dishwasher-safe. However, it offers cooks many advantages longbefore cleanup time. Constructed of extra-thick aluminum, these heavypots and pans conduct heat quickly and uniformly (no hot spots) andwon't warp. Their handsome, charcoal gray exterior is harder than steeland resists scratching and denting. Inside, they're coated withDuPont's exceptionally durable Autograph nonstick that readily releasesfood. Stainless-steel handles wear an attractive satin finish. Thehandles are rounded for comfort, hollow to stay cool on the stovetop, and oven-safe to 500 degrees F. This 4-quart covered chef's pan has adeep-set, satin-finish, stainless-steel lid.

Unlike conventional hard-anodized pots and pans, this cookware isdishwasher-safe because its titanium-composite exterior is nonporous.Nevertheless, its virtue of being dishwasher-safe is not unlimited. Toprevent pots and pans from discoloring in a dishwasher over time--andto prevent voiding the lifetime warranty against defects--themanufacturer's cleaning instructions about water temperature (120 to140 degrees F) and detergent (mild, with a phosphate content less than7-1/2 percent) must be strictly observed. As with most cookware, handwashing Anolon Titanium is the better alternative for ideal care. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars When cooking is a family experience
This pan entered our family because the younger generation was doing a lot of frying-pan cooking, and scrubbing out the old (uncoated) frying pan was becoming a task that no one wanted to do. We needed something that would cook well, be easy to clean--in the dishwasher, if possible--and would stand up to hard use by the whole family.

I chose this pan because according to my pre-purchase research, Anolon Titanium uses the Autograph coating, the newest/best Dupont non-stick surface, and the titanium-composite outer shell means that the hard-anodized aluminum pan won't be destroyed in the dishwasher, when you use mild gel soaps and moderate temperatures (instructions included with pan). I've previously steered clear of anodized aluminum because I don't want to HAVE to handwash anything--as is evident from the paragraph above.

Good points of this pan:

** It goes in the dishwasher! We use a gel soap, setting the cycle to "Normal" and "Air Dry" -- the lowest temperatures possible on our machine. This size, with loop handle and stick handle, exactly fits the front-to-back space in the lower dishwasher rack. When we take the pan out, we season it lightly with olive oil before using it again.

** Lid is unbreakable stainless, not glass--a feature found only in the Titanium line among the Anolon products.

** Food doesn't weld itself to the cooking surface, so it comes off easily, either in or out of the dishwasher. (Use non-metal tools to maintain the cooking surface.)

** Sides and bottom are equally heavy--means no "hot spots" or "cool spots" when pan is pre-heated at a mid-low temperature setting. Even if you slop pancake batter up on the sides of the pan, the finished product is well-done, if a trifle bent.

** Sides are high enough to accomodate even a sloppily aimed pancake or a rather enthusiastically stirred stir-fry. There are fewer bits of food scattered over the stovetop after cooking sessions.

** The long, slightly textured stainless handle is comfortably shaped for a variety of hand sizes, easy to grip, slip-resistant, and stays cool during the average cooking session. The loop handle is also textured, slip-resistant, and comfortably shaped, but gets warm faster.

** The pan is oven-safe to 500 degrees, though it cannot be used under a broiler. You can start a recipe on the stovetop, finish it in the oven, and not change pans.

** Construction seems sturdy and commercial-quality, very heavy-duty.

Pleas note that most people probably won't need/want something this big and heavy. This is definitely a pan for feeding a crowd--or at least a couple of hungry teenagers and the other folks in the family.

We've not had this pan long enough to give a rating on its durability--the Autograph surface, if properly used, is supposed to be 300% more durable than standard non-stick surfaces. However, we do seem to be using this pan at almost every meal and we are definitely giving the durability factor a test. We'll check back in a year or two... ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Home chefs with a passion for cooking want the best cookware possible for their sautéing, braising, searing, frying, or baking tasks, and this 7-1/2-quart pan from Anolon delivers. Like all Anolon Professional cookware, this pan is designed as a commercial-quality product, with a snug-fitting, break-resistant glass lid that allows you to monitor your food; Dupont's Autograph triple-layer nonstick interior; and, most importantly, a heavy-gauge, hard-anodized aluminum construction that heats up quickly yet cooks evenly and steadily. Because of the nonstick surface, foods slide out of the pan effortlessly and cleanup is remarkably simple. The pan also features a pair of 18/10 stainless-steel handles that are riveted to the sides for durability, plus another stainless-steel handle on the tempered glass lid. The pan's handles are oven-safe to 500 degrees F, while the lid is oven-safe to 400 degrees F. Anolon Professional cookware should be hand washed and features a limited lifetime warranty. --Rivers Janssen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a great value
I got mine on a Friday sale for fifteen bucks with free super saver shipping..but even at today's $19.99 price this is an absolute steel for a marvelous dutch oven type pan. No, this isn't QUITE as heavy a guage as Calphalon, but for twenty bucks it's exceptionally well made and worth WAAAY more. And it has a non stick coating, so for braising roasts or stew meat etc. it deglazes and cleans easily. And the high domed glass lid makes this perfect for stewing a chicken or other tall items.

The included lid alone would easily sell for fifteen bucks on its own. And if you've already bought the Analon deep sided everything pan (which comes without a lid, THIS lid fits that pan as well. And if you DON'T already have the deep sided skillet.. GET one. Between these two pieces you'd have a well equipped range and likely not need any other large pots n pans.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Pan at Unbelievable Price!
Wow! This is an amazing pan! I can't believe the Amazon price! I wish I had purchased the remaining stock when I had the chance! They would have definitely made great Christmas presents for next year. In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy my excellent find. :)

5-0 out of 5 stars The best cookware in my kitchen
I recently purchased the Professional Deep 12" Skillet to replace an existing set of T-Fal pans that I owned and I was very pleased with the qaility of this pan. So much that I threw all my T-Fals in the garbage. The only problem with the pan was that it had no lid, I didn't need it for the splatter, because this pan is deep enough that I get no mess on my stove top, but I needed one for certain recipes that I cook. So I decided to buy the 7 1/2 Quart everything pan, in hope that the lid would also fit my skillet. To my joy it did, even after reading one bad review that the pan was flimsy and the lid didn't seal, I found that to be wrong. It's Perfect!
It's low and wide, so it cooks a little bit faster than my other stock pots. Great job Meyer Corp. I look forward to years of cooking enjoyment with these pans.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my most-used items!
I ordered one of these for my son, a budding chef, for Christmas. After I received it and had a chance to check it out, I ordered one for myself, as well.

It *is* light, and that is one of its strengths - that's a quality of hard-anodized aluminum.

The wide, low-profile pot is great for cooking quantities of soups and sauces of all kinds - and I have had absolutely no problems with hot spots. It makes a superb pasta cooker - especially for long pastas such as linguine, spaghetti, fettucine.

It cleans up like a dream, too - just a quick swipe and it's done.

This one rarely gets put away, because I use it all the time. I have two great sets of high-quality cookware, including stock pots and pasta cookers - and if I had to keep but one pot, this would be it.

4-0 out of 5 stars More Pan, Less Cleanup !
We purchased this pan in December, primarily to boil large amounts of pasta, or corn on the cob. However, we enjoy making meat sauce for spaghetti and sauteing crab cakes, salmon, etc. Why? All the fat from the saute is caught by the sides of the pan, thus making stovetop cleanup a thing of the past. We thought the pan would be heavier, however, it still does a great job. Thanks Amazon for yet ANOTHER great deal !!! ... Read more

Harder than steel, Anolon Classic pots and pans are made ofhard-anodized aluminum and coated inside with DuPont's exceptionallydurable, three-layer Autograph nonstick. 5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT pan!
Easy to cook in, easy to clean, and a perfect size to cook everything we need but not be a nightmare to wash.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you only have one pan...
I accidentally happened on this pan quite a number of years ago, thought the shape looked "interesting" (this was before sauciers were common), and bought it. Since then I've used it constantly for absolutely everything! Out of habit, I use spray, nylon and wooden utensils and handwash cookware, and this pan has outlasted my Scanpan set. Nothing's ever stuck or burned, the coating has only minor marks that don't effect cooking, and none of it has flaked. If I need a lid I use a generic one. It's the smartest buy I've ever made. I'm looking for more Analon.

3-0 out of 5 stars An Apartment Dwelling Cooks Viewpoint
This is a very nicely sized pan. It is a cross between a fry pan and a saucepan. Like all Analon Classic Pans it does not have the weight of a professional pan, like the Circulon, but it is not a cheap thin pan. I really like the extra disk that Meyer has put on the bottom of their Anolon pans. it keeps them flat on the burner and conducts the heat quickly and evenly. I find that heat settings of medium to medium-low work best with this pan. I have even done small stir-fry with no more than a medium-high setting. This pans biggest drawback is no lid, However I have 10-inch lids from QVC's Cooks Essentials that fit it perfectly.

Amazon.com Review

The hard-anodized aluminum construction of this professional-quality chef's pan is up to twice as tough as stainless steel; heat is distributed quickly and evenly, eliminating the hot spots that can burn foods you've worked for hours to prepare. The 18/10 stainless steel handle is double-riveted to the pan for the best possible bond, and the whole works are oven-safe up to 500 degrees F. A special fluted design keeps the handle cool to the touch while frying. You'll want to treat this pan and its surface with care, so hand washing is recommended. --Matthew Evans ... Read more
