Amazon.com Review

With raised, concentric grooves in their bottoms providing extra protection for an exceptionally durable, DuPont Autograph nonstick coating, the pots and pans in this 12-piece set equip a cook with easy-to-use, easy-to-clean cookware that stands up to heavy use. The set comprises 2-quart and 3-quart saucepans with lids; a 4-1/2- quart Dutch oven with lid; an 8-quart stockpot with lid for simmering stocks and soups; a 5-quart, high-sided sauté pan with lid for frying chicken, sautéing lots of fish or vegetables, and braising a pot roast in the oven; and 8-inch and 10-inch slope-sided skillets.

The cookware's "hi-low" system of concentric grooves creates narrow ridges to take utensil abuse, leaving low, wider grooves unscathed to readily release food. Exteriors are charcoal-gray, hard-anodized aluminum for easy cleaning and harder-than-steel durability. Synthetic handles stay cool on the stovetop and are oven-safe to 350 degrees F. Domed lids are 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. This cookware, heavy enough to conduct evenly yet light enough to handle easily, carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

2-0 out of 5 stars The finish wears off in 6 months
I don't have time to baby my cookware! The pans that I use often worked well for a few months and then I noticed the circles were chipping into my food! My neighbor found the same thing happening with hers! I bought mine in 2001 and now I am looking to replace them!

2-0 out of 5 stars Totally Unacceptable !
How can you use cookware that you can't get hot??! Want to sear some ahi tuna? Forget it. Cook a large batch of pasta? Have a good book handy while you wait for the water to boil on medium heat! Your cooking times will double, and if you try to rush the process by using high heat you'll end up with cookware that sticks badly.

What's next, a Circulon line of stemware that is ruined if you put liquids in them?

5-0 out of 5 stars Best pans in my kitchen!
I couldn't decide what pans to get when I was ready to get rid of my mixed, hand-me-down collection of old pots. Although I was attracted to this set, I delayed for quite a while because I thought having to hand wash pans would be a pain. I was wrong!

I've had a set of Circulon pans for over two years now, and it was the best purchase I ever made. They are so incredibly easy to clean, that you simply swish some soapy water over them and they are done! Nothing sticks, and the finish is incredibly durable.

I've simmered hours of soups, stews, spaghetti sauces, stir fries, etc., in these pans, and they still look like new.

The pans are well made and distribute heat evenly. The circular pattern in the finish seems to help foods brown too.

Warning: the Manufacturer's instructions tell you not to use cooking sprays (like "Pam"), but to use oil instead. (Apparently cooking sprays can get too hot, hurting the finish.) That's the only down side. However, I hope the tiny drizzle of olive oil I use doesn't add too many calories to my dishes!

The Manufacturer's instructions also tell you to hand wash the pans. I believe doing so is why my pans still look like new after years of use. However, my husband did put them through the dishwasher once or twice while I was gone on a trip, and it didn't seem to harm them. (Whew!) So, maybe they can stand up to ONE machine wash! But, hand washing them takes just seconds, so you won't mind doing it.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best cookware I've ever used
Since I purchased my set I've sworn off all other cookware. These pots and pans are simply amazing. Non- stick, easy to clean and a delight to cook with. I can fry in just a teaspoon of oil since the grooves prevent meats from sticking. I don't even mind washing pots and pans anymore since cleanup is a breeze. I don't need any abrasive sponges or cleansers. A regular yellow sponge and some dtergent will get rid of the greasiest, messiest grime you could cook up. I have never been happier in my kitchen.

5-0 out of 5 stars wonderful ware
This set of cookware is absolutely delightful. It is stylish and yet very durable. Light and solid. The handle is solid and you don't wonder if it will hold as you transport a dish. The non-stick surface is just that and requires minimal effort. I also have the utensils made by Circulon and you can tell they are quality too. ... Read more

This functional 14-piece set offers a complete array of cookware for the kitchen at a reasonable price. The set includes three covered saucepans in 2-, 3-, and 4-quart sizes; 5-1/2- and 8-quart covered stockpots; 8- and 10-inch shallow French skillets; and a 12-inch, 5-quart covered sauté pan. The exteriors of the pans in this set are durable hard-anodized aluminum while a hard-anodized aluminum core distributes heat evenly through the pans without hot spots. Three coats of DuPont nonstick coating line the pan’s interiors. Circulon’s patented Hi-Low grooves protect the nonstick coating from wear by exposing only a small portion of the nonstick surface to cooking. The result is longer lasting performance and easy cleaning. The 18/10 stainless steel lids are slightly domed to capture moisture when steaming or braising foods. Handles are made of stay-cool heat-resistant plastic and are oven-safe to 350 degrees F. This cookware is covered by a lifetime limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

4-0 out of 5 stars Durable non-stick and attractive
My wife and I bought this set about 3 years ago and they are still nearly as good as new. We selected them over Analon and Cephalon because the saucepans and skillets have molded rubber handles. This makes it possible to handle the pots without using pot holders. My wife does the cooking and I clean up so I can tell you that she has never been able to damage or even get food stuck on the cooking surfaces.

One thing that you should understand about any aluminum or cast iron cookware is staining of the outside surface. Any oils or food that spill onto the outside during cooking will actually be absorbed into the metal surface creating a dark stain that cannot be removed. I consider this part of the seasoning of the cookware and not unattractive but people who like their cookware to always look new should consider stainless steel or something.

5-0 out of 5 stars Makes cooking fun!
I love these pans! I grew up using cast iron pans. I loved the way they cooked, but hated the clean up! I never have a problem with food burning or sticking on these Circulon Classic pans. Small bits of egg do stick, but wipe right out. Everyone always comments (postively) on the circles on the pancakes from the grooves. I left this set of pans behind after a break-up and now I'm buying the set piece by piece since I loved them so much. Sometimes I miss the pans more then the ex!

2-0 out of 5 stars They were great - for about 4 years!
I've had my circulon set for about 4 1/2 years now and I loved them, couldn't live without them, until a few months ago. They're becoming increasingly difficult to clean and are forming a sticky residue despite the fact that I've cared for them exactly as the maufacturer said. When looking for the Meyers web site to email them, I came across some complaints of the exact same nature by people who sent their cookware back to Meyers in hopes that they would make good on the lifetime warrenty and Meyers sent a form letter (!!) saying they obviously misused them and that the warrenty is void. Unless you're willing to shell out a few hundred dollars for pots every few years (I'm not!) look elsewhere.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome deal........ Great product
I bought this set (14 piece + the free 9 in skillet) for 170.00, just saw a similar set (only 10 pieces) at Sears for about 250.00. Have been cooking with the set now for a couple of weeks and my wife and I both love them. Easy clean up, no "hot" spots (even heating) and you could probably couldn't get super-glue to stick to them. I have absolutely nothing negative to report........... Great buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very pleased
I am an All Clad user. While browsing for All Clad I came across the 14 pc Circulon set with bonus pan. It was over half what my mother in law paid for her ten piece set several years ago. What a bargain! I ordered it as a filler set of cookware. The box came rather quickly and the cookware is wonderful. As with any non stick cookware, you do not want to cook on high heat. As long as you can remember to keep your heating element on meduium or low you will be okay and will enjoy this item. Using high heat on a non stick surface is not good for your cookware or your health. ... Read more

Coated inside and out with rugged nonstick, Circulon 2 cookware eliminates the chore of scrubbing pots and pans. Inside their bottoms, Circulon's patented Hi-Low system of concentric grooves creates narrow ridges to take utensil abuse, leaving low, wide grooves unscathed to readily release food and ensuring long life for the nonstick coating. Beneath the nonstick is harder-than-steel anodized aluminum. Pot and pan bottoms are left uncoated to conduct heat quickly and prevent hot spots. Slip-resistant synthetic grips on riveted, polished, stainless-steel handles stay cool on the stovetop and go safely in an oven up to 350 degrees F. Heavyweight, 18/10 stainless-steel lids polished to a mirror finish present a gleaming contrast to the attractive, charcoal gray, enamel-like appearance of Circulon 2's nonstick exterior.

This 10-piece set outfits a kitchen with all essential pots and pans. It consists of 1-quart and 2-quart saucepans with lids; a 12-inch sauté pan with a lid; an 8-quart stockpot with a lid; and 8-inch and 10-inch skillets. The Hi-Low concentric grooves climb about an inch up the pots and pans' rounded sides, permitting thorough scraping without damaging the nonstick coating. Circulon 2 cookware carries a lifetime warranty against defects and should be hand washed. --Fred Brack

5-0 out of 5 stars A Batchelor
I have had the ten inch skillet for about six months and it is by far the best I have had in my thirty-five years of cooking. I overheat it. I catch it on fire. It looks like new. Non stick is fine. A teaspoon of oil and nothing (I mean nothing) will stick. Circulon 2 is great stuff, period. I was so impressed, I wrote this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Customers Beware!!!
I have spent thousands of dollar's, On Meyers cookware everthing from KitchenAid, Anolon, Prestige, Faberware, & Circulan, just to name a few. Though Meyers does manufacture very high quality pots & pans and I would recommend them to anyone it's just sad that if you have any problem with them, under warranty, you have to go throught the chain of command, that never gets you anywhere, even if you want to speak with upper management about the rudeness of the customer service department. Their customer service department employees are always very rude and snotty and they act like they are doing you a favor to even talk to you about their products. Don't get me wrong they do make good cookware, probably the best, but you as the consumer are at the mercy of their customer service and their descision or your fait on wheather your life time warranty is honored or not.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Great and YES, I Put Them In the Dishwasher
My husband and I bought this pan set about 6 months ago. I realize they are not suppose to be put into the dishwasher because they are hard anodized aluminum and the manufacturer recommends that we hand wash them; However, I don't live in the 1800s and don't have the time, nor the desire to scrub pots and pans! I have been putting them in the dishwasher under the normal wash cycle about 4-5 times a week. It doesn't appear that the dishwashing has harmed them, in any event, I figure I'll take my chances. In terms of cooking with them, they work absolutely great and I definitely recommmend this set. The only thing that bothers me about this product line is that the 10 pc set does not include a 1 1/2 qt covered saucepan, only the 12 pc set does. I can't even buy it separately either. Other then that, I have no complaints.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Quality and Easy to Clean

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Value
After long research and many visits to different stores, I found the Circulon 2 10 piece set. This set offers everything I was looking for. It has the durability of being hard-adonized with a nicer look than some of the more expensive brands. Probably the best feature of this cookware set is the new non-stick that it has. Not only does food not stick to the pan when cooking but clean-up was an absolute breeze ( hand washed ). I highly reccomend this set, wether you are a novice in the kitchen or a seasoned home chef. You will find this great cookware. ... Read more

Concentric grooves in the bottoms and an advanced, titanium-composite nonstick coating create a rugged, unique food-release system inside the pot and pans in this 10-piece set of mirror-finish, 18/10 stainless-steel cookware. The concentric grooves (Circulon's patented "Hi-Low" design) create narrow ridges to take utensil abuse, leaving the low, wide grooves unscathed over time. Clad in stainless steel for good looks and easy cleaning, thick aluminum disks on the pot and pans' bottoms distribute heat quickly and evenly. Synthetic handles--grooved on the sides for slip resistance--stay cool on the stovetop and are oven-safe to 350 degrees F.

The set consists of 1-1/2-quart and 3-quart saucepans with lids; 8-inch and 10-inch slope-sided skillets; a 10-1/2-inch, 4-quart, straight- sided sauté pan with lid that's great for braising and cooking one-dish meals as well as for sautéing; and an 8-quart stockpot with lid that doubles as a soup pot. 5-0 out of 5 stars Love this cookware
I have a set of the traditional Circulon as well as a piece of the new steel Circulon. I have never had a problem keeping the 'grooves' clean. I put my Circulon in the dishwasher, it's very low maintenance. Food cooks great with it. Both my mother and mother-in-law have made positive comments about it when visiting. I have never had the problems which the negative reviewer has made. I recommend this brand HIGHLY!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
I just received this set of cookware and found it to be one of the best I have ever used. I will keep them forever.

1-0 out of 5 stars Actually 0 stars -- pass this one up!
After a while you'll never get those "rugged concentric grooves" clean and you will be grossed out by your own cookwear. I'd never recommend Circulon cookware because of this, especially since there are so many high-quality, smooth-bottomed pans on the market. ... Read more

This 10-piece set of pots and pans will cover all your basic cooking needs and help you whip up better-than-basic culinary delights. You can even start your meal on the stovetop, then continue cooking in the oven up to 350 degrees, all in the same pan. The hard anodized exterior provides even heat distribution and extra durability, and the patented Hi-Low design means the raised circles in the cookware's interior release food more easily, making low-fat cooking easier. The set contains a 1-quart covered saucepan, a 2-quart covered saucepan, an 8-quart covered stockpot, a 3-1/2-quart covered Dutch oven (because it has stainless-steel handles, it's safe in the oven up to 500 degrees), an 8-inch open French skillet, and a 10-inch fry pan (the stockpot's lid will fit this fry pan). All pieces in the set have stay-cool phenolic handles, and the lids all have high domes. To care for this cookware, use wood or plastic utensils to keep from scratching the nonstick coating and hand wash with a soft sponge or cloth. --Doree Armstrong

5-0 out of 5 stars These are the best pans on the planet!
These are by far the best pans I have ever used. They cook everything very evenly and make it very hard to burn food. Also, clean up is so easy. I have left caked on spaghetti sauce for over a week and it wiped right out! I really dont see how other people can say that food gets stuck in the grooves, this has never happened to me and I never use any type of oil or nonstick spray when I cook. That is another good thing about these pans. They have such a great non-stick coating that you really dont ever have to use oil to cook with, so you can cook low fat. These are a lot more expensive than your standard set of pans..., but you will be able to tell the difference immediately. They are well worth the cost.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this stuff!
These are great! I haven't found anything that will stick to the surface of these pots! And they heat quickly and evenly, too... At first, I didn't want to like these pots-- they're not as good looking and trendy as Calphalon or All-Clad-- but they work great and they're especially easy to clean. The non-stick surface really works! So far, I have not noticed any teflon peeling like with cheaper pots--and I've been using these nearly every night for over a year now... However, due to the possible sensitivity of that surface, I would recommend using only plastic or wooden utensils with these pots.

Update: fast forward about 3 years: The teflon coating is peeling a little in the most frequently used frying pan in the set, but none of the others. Also, sometimes oil gets stuck in the tiny crevices inside the pans - not a big deal if you use a dishwasher (because the oil comes right out in a dishwasher), but if you wash by hand, it seems like you can never get all the oil out of there. STILL, I highly recommend these pots and pans. They are SOLID, and I think they're going to last a long time, even if I do have to replace that one pan in a couple of years.

2-0 out of 5 stars At First Great, Later Not So Great!
I have a complete set of Circulon Cookware and have used it for several years. At first it worked well, but after awhile I had increasing difficulty with food sticking and problems cleaning. The pots tend to work fine because you cook with significantly more liquid. The pans are the true shortcoming. After cooking with the pans I fill them with hot water and sometimes some dish detergent and let them soak. I find washing them after at least a 15 minute soak to still be problematic. I have to rub vigorously with a sponge, even then you cannot properly clean-out the grooves.

I am phasing out my set and moving back to cast iron, aluminum and aluminum clad stainless. I do better cooking the old fashioned way.

4-0 out of 5 stars Our results differ with each individual pan
We've owned two Circulon frypans, the 10" fry pan and flat-bottomed 'wok' for over 15 years and 10 years respectively. We've been pleased with the results overall.

I agree with the comments about the non-stick surface wearing out and being hard to clean. Silly us, we've still found them servicable by using 3M pads routinely and heating them up with a little water in the bottom if the omelete or cooking remnants are too crisp to scour out.

Our experience with the surface deterioration depends on the individual pan itself. We started noticing a the fry pan losing its non-stickability in about year 4 or 5, although we continue to use it today. We also cook with oil which may have had an adverse effect.

On the other hand, our flat-bottomed wok has been used for stir frying, jambalaya and omelet making over its ten-year lifespan, and it has just lately begun to develop a sticky point on the bottom.

We've not had any 'peeling' or 'chipping' of either cooking surface, but the outside of the frypan has lost the 'anodized' look from taking a few rides in the dishwasher. NOTE: DON'T PUT THEM IN THE DISHWASHER!! This appears to do the most harm to the non-stick surface.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
As a college student I don't have much time to spend washing dishes or pots. I just toss the Circulon 2-quart sauce pan into the dishwasher and it comes out so clean! I have never had any problems with sticking or food in the grooves. For example, I cooked a bag of round pasta in the 2-quart sauce pan, it was way too much pasta for such a pan. But nothing stuck! Nothing burned! It eventually formed a pasta blob because the pan was so small, but I just inverted it onto a plate and everything came out perfectly. =) Anyway, I can see how people *hate* Circulon, in the unlikely event that your burn an egg, just put some water in it for like 15 mins and it'll come right off! Or just wipe with a paper towel *before* it has time to harden. Well, that's my two cents. =) ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Concentric grooves in the bottoms and an advanced, titanium-composite nonstick coating create a rugged, unique food-release system inside the pot and pans in this 8-piece set of mirror-finish, 18/10 stainless-steel cookware.

The set consists of 1-1/2-quart and 3-quart saucepans with lids; 8-inch and 10-inch slope-sided skillets; and an 8-quart stockpot with lid that doubles as a soup pot. Circulon Steel cookware carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

This 12-piece set outfits a kitchen with family-sized pots and pans. It consists of 1-1/2-quart and 3-quart saucepans with lids; a 4-quart saucepot with a lid; a 12-inch sauté pan with a lid; an 8-quart stockpot with a lid; and 8-inch and 10-inch skillets. The Hi-Low concentric grooves climb about an inch up the pots and pans' rounded sides, permitting thorough scraping without damaging the nonstick coating. Circulon 2 cookware carries a lifetime warranty against defects and should be hand washed. --Fred Brack

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Cookware
I just replaced all of my cookware with the Circulon 2 and I love it. It cooks faster than other brands I've owned. It's also a lot easier to clean. The only drawback is that you cannot wash it in the dishwasher, but it is so easy to clean that I don't think I'll miss it that much. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Its a very good set of cookware!
I bought the Circulon 2 "10-picece" cookware set in March 2004. I have been using them daily and found they are very satisfactory. Particularly the 10.5" / 4-Qt Covered Saute with helper handle - it is big and deep enough to try a big portion of veggie or stew meat with sauce. I use it to cook Asia style soup noodle too! I rarely use the 8" and 10" open french skillets as I found they are not big enough. Their sizes are fit to fry 1 or at most 2 pork chop at a time. I prefer to use the 10.5" / 4-Qt Covered Saute so that I can make 4 pork chop at a time. The 1- and 2-Qt covered saucepans are in good size too.
The non-sticking coating is really promising. It doesn't stick and is extremely easy to clean. I never use dishwasher to clean them as it is so advised by the instruction. The non-sticking coating is durable and has no sign of scratch despite I use them to cook every day (normally I use bamboo chopstick to help cooking).
It takes me some time before I decided to buy this 10-piece set cookware as I think it is quite expensive ($200). I looked at them a few times when I visited department stores. Their appearance looks really nice. Based on the terrific customer review, I finally bought it. I'm very satisfied with this set of cookware and would highly recommend it to someone who wants to have a set of high quality cookware.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Starter Cookware Set
I bought this cookware set and love it. The nonstick coating works very well and is very easy to clean. They say that you can't use a Brillo pad to clean it or you will ruin the nonstick coating, so be careful. I use a scrubbing pad very gently on it and it seems to be fine. You don't need to use much elbow grease to get them clean, though. I have used all the items and they are all perfect for what they are designed for. However there is a definate need for a larger skillet. I went out and bought a deep 12 inch skillet and it really fills out the set. I haven't needed any other pans yet, but I think these will keep us covered pretty well. But you definately need the 12 inch skillet/stir fry pan.

PROS:
-Affordable
-Fits the needs for the everyday cook
-Very attractive design and look
-The lids keep the steam in the pot/pan very well
-Heat is very well distributed when cooking
-Doesn't burn items very easily

CONS:
-12 inch skillet is a much that is not included in the set
-Somewhat hard to keep the bottoms perfectly clean

All in all, this is a great set for the everyday cook. They are attractive, very functional, and affordable; the three things that you should look for in a cooking set.

Don't get me wrong they do make good cookware, probably the best, but you as the consumer are at the mercy of their customer service and their descision or your fait on wheather your life time warranty is honored or not. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Lifelong cookware!
I received this cookware as a wedding present 12 years and four children ago! It has never worn out and still looks perfectly new. It is the only cookware I have used in those 12 years and still cooks perfectly (even though I don't). Since there is no teflon coating, you don't have to worry about scraping the bottoms of the pans. The ridged bottoms help distribute heat so that food is cooked evenly. It really is worth the investment because you will be cooking with this cookware for many, many years to come. ... Read more
