Excellent value, holds up well
I bought this set, actually two of them, about 6 years ago when I got my first apartment and I've got to review this set very highly because: 1. they're extremely durable 2. they're so easy to care for 3. they look great and 4. its a great overall value package.

Durability: I bought 2 sets, so that's 8 settings and it came with small coffee cups, dinner plates, bread plates, cereal/soup bowls, a serving plate, and serving bowls. I have gotten a helluva lot of use out of them. I've used these dishes for more than eating, including plant water bowls. I've dropped a number of them on the floor and found not a crack or scratch. Only warning, don't leave them in your sink on top of cookie sheets, they'll get a rust stain, so make sure your boyfriend isn't too lazy to put them in the dishwasher. I microwave these suckers all the time and they've never broken. Only a couple of the bowls have broken because they got stuck together or I opened the dishwasher when it was still hot. Still, excellent lifespan.

Ease of care: Yeah, all you have to do is get these dishes into the dishwasher and you're set. Again, the only discoloration was from leaving them in contact with poor quality cookie sheets which rusted on them a little bit, but given how long I've had these, it doesn't bother me much. They stack up very nicely and don't take up a whole lot of space.

Looks & Use: All the pieces fit together well and look nice when dressed up with food. I bought frost white because food looks better on white, and then I can put down different colored table cloths or place mats and change it up whenever I want. The coffee cups are nice, but since I don't drink coffee, I just use them for sip cups or sometimes cooking. I use the large plates and the small bowls ALL the time. Bowls are perfect for cereal, soup, dry snacks, beating eggs for an omelette, or anything. They're just the right size for a serving, especially a pack of ramen noodles.

Value: So you've read how much and what I've used these for, you can see what a great value this is. It's an ideal set for people just getting started on their own, college students, young couples, etc (and keep in mind, the children will have to TRY to break these things, I've seen kids drop my plates and not have them break). They're inexpensive to replace if something does break. The lifespan with typical use is at least 6 years. Even now my stuff looks good, despite the stains (which are on the bottom, and not due to manufacturing defect) and I plan to keep using them until I decide to get something that runs about $10-15 a plate (read, higher paying job). But even if I had kids, I'd have them use these dishes because I'm not going get upset if something happens to it.

Callaway Accesories
I love all of the Corelle Callaway pieces..my only problem is that I can't seem to find the matching Callaway knives, forks and spoons. Can anyone help??

Wonderful set - perfect for starting out
I got this set as a gift from the in-laws after I got married - that was 6 years ago. So far the set looks like new though we use the plates and glasses everyday.

We did purchase four more plates, cereal bowls and glasses our of necessity. I also have the cassarole dishes, stoneware bowls, salt and pepper shaker, spoon rest, tea kettle, cannister set, cookie jar, baking pans, dinner platter and the larger bowls. Oh and I almost forgot I also have the ramekins too as well as the sugar bowl, creamer, hot plate, stove burner covers and napkin holder. This design is simple yet attractive and the quality of the dishes is very good. My mother still has a set of corelle dishes from about 20 years ago and they are still in great shape.

This pattern is getting harder to find (believe me I would know) so if you are lookng for a motif for your kitchen and this catches you eye get it you won't be sorry! ... Read more

Great introduction, or a cheap way to replace pieces
Here is the product that started it all. Created originally as an alternative to Melmac, way back in the Nixon administration, it has captured the imagination of America, especially when it was found that one could microwave food on it.

Its siblings, in Butterfly Gold, Spring Green, Snowflake Blue, Old Town Blue, et al, alas, are not longer available. But this set 100% compatible, so it makes for a quick way to restock broken pieces (no, NOTHING is 100% indestructible) at half the price of replacing pieces one (or four) at a time.

No, it doesn't have the stackable (and microwaveable) cup and saucers. It doesn't even have the ceramic (non-microwaveable but matching) mugs. But basic white cups and saucers are available anywhere. This has the basic pieces (minus the dessert bowl) that you probably want, plus some tumblers thrown in for good luck.

BTW, be not deceived: the 34 piece set offered at twice the price is NOT a place setting for eight. They have thrown in such "matching" accessories as place mats and napkin rings to this basic setting for four.

Again, matching items to white dishware should not be much of a challenge to do on your own.

I received this set as a Christmas present and I love it. It's very lightweight, but sturdy. The cups have a great feel in your hand and are a good size. I've been looking for a dish set with some pattern, but not too much, and this is it. Nice choice of colors and pattern. Neutral, but with a little kick. The bowls come with plastic lids for easy storage. A nice little perk. I'm tired of all the oversize plates that seem to be out there, so to me, these are just perfect. Not too big or too small. A note on the included glassware:
This is beautiful Correlle. If you buy this set with the glasses, factor inthe glasses are going to start breaking quickly. The set with cups is a better value, IF you like cups and saucers. Sadly, there are no mugs in this pattern, just plain white. The glasses last as long as any inexpensive glassware. I got my set at WalMart; shop and compare.

Beautiful design!
My wife and I have had this table ware for 18 years and out of place setttings for 12 we have only broken 5 plates and 2 bowls.This product can last a lifetime.We recently ordered two, four place settings from Amazon.Unfortuately, one set was smashed in shipping.But, as great customer service, Amazon sent us another set overnight.Yet, it too was smashed into shards of glass.Amazon will no longer ship Corelle products to us.Corelle Dinnerware is a fantastic product. I would suggest not trying to buy anything fragile from Amazon because it will definetly not last the delivery.

Excellent package
I got the 34 piece set of corelle from Meijjer. The set is wonderful. It has serving of 4 + serving bowl and platter. All-together, the value I got this for is excellent!! I also love the design, its gentle and the food served also doesn't look goddy along with this design. Although the cups are not made up of durable material, the color goes with the entire set.
I am waiting to get some more design from amazon in a form of 34 peice set!!
