1-0 out of 5 stars Pure embezzlement
Stainless steel? I bought this set 3 months ago and it already has rust spots all over. I just sent an e-mail to their customer service. Let's see what happens...

In the meantime: stay away from this product!

1-0 out of 5 stars A "forged" knife isn't stamped!
This item, called "forged" in the title is listed as stamped in the description, which may be an indication why so many people are not happy with their purchase. Purchase forged knives for the best quality.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stainless Steel shouldn't corrode... should it?
We were really pleased when we first received and used this knife set. Its appearance was very professional, the handles very user friendly, and the edges were VERY sharp. However, after using the set and following the care directions for a few months, it became apparent that something was VERY wrong. The 3 1/4" and 5" blades started to show black spots and then began to corrode. Now the 3 1/4" paring knife blade has so much decay that it can be nearly described as a serrated blade. The manufacturer offers a "limited lifetime warranty" so we will soon see what that means. We are very disappointed with this product at any price!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality for the Price
I am also confused by some of the comments below.
I bought a set for my wife 3 months ago and she is VERY pleased with the quality and sharpness of the knives.
They are always hand-washed, but I have never seen any hint of rust.
After 3 months of nearly daily use, they have only required minimal sharpening.
My wife has a brother-in-law who is a professional head chef at an up-scale restaurant, so she has had some exposure to quality cutlery.
The set we received is of excellent quality and I know she would recommend them to anyone.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stainless steel!!??!
I have never seen a knife that starts to rust when washed 3 times. The directions say to hand wash these, so I did, and after about the third washing of the butcher knife started getting little rust spots on both sides in random places... I'm returning these for a refund and checking out the bettwe selection Amazon has to offer... ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

A crusty loaf yields easily to this knife, which has serrations big enough to rate, in knife-speak, as "scallops." Though it will do the job, it's not ideal for soft-skinned fruits and vegetables because serrations tends to tear rather than slice. Signature is a moderately priced alternative to Hoffritz's inexpensive steel-handle Platinum line; the steel is of a better grade than that used for Platinum knives, and the blades tend to be thicker. Signature knives are quite heavy and their handles' girth substantial, so small-handed cooks might find them difficult to manipulate. There's a visible gap between this knife's bolster and handle that must be cleaned with care, particularly if the knife is near raw meats or poultry. Both lines have bolsters. --Fred Brack ... Perfect for Camembert or dill Havarti, this cheese knife glides smoothly through soft cheeses. Regular kitchen knives tend to drag down the cheese and compact the slices, but Lifetime Hoan's 5-1/2-inch, open-work blade adds air to the mix, which makes for even slicing. Featuring a forked tip for spearing chunks of cheddar or scoring lemon wedges for juicing, this cheese knife will be used behind the scenes and then brought to the table, so guests can help themselves to another wedge of Muenster. --Dana Van Nest ... • Measures 10 by 1 by 0.5 inches; hole for hanging storage; hand wash
  • Stainless-steel cheese knife with 51/2-inch open blade
  • Thin sharp blade prevents crumbling or mashing; ideal for softer cheeses
  • Lightweight design; forked tip for spearing and scoring
  • Round metal handle fits comfortably in hand

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy utensil
Very good for cutting thin or thick slices of any cheese, including softer cheese. Easier to cut thin slices with this knife than using a wire slicer, and it can go in the dishwasher. It is hard to believe the higher priced brands can do the job better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Now I can cut my cheese and (almost) eat it, too!
Hi, I'm Frank, and I'll be doin' this here product review while my good buddy Zaggy hits the tank for this week's big arenaball contest. Today I'm gonna talk about this really cool-looking cheese knife that I got as a gag gift. What's the gag, you ask? Well, you see, I have trouble digesting dairy products, especially cheese, which means I can't have any. Um, cheese that is. Not an ounce of brie, a smidgeon of edam, nor a gram of gouda can pass my lips without me havin' to pay the consequences the followin' day. It can be a nightmarish existence at times, y'know?

You might think that my inability to ingest that forbidden fromage would discourage me from using this cool piece of dairy cutlery. Well, that would be the farthest thing from the truth, 'cuz even though I can't eat the cheese, I sure as heck can cut it pretty good! Yep, this little guy goes right through the Philly and American singles slices like nobody else's business! Okay, so it takes a bit more work to saw through the harder cheeses (such as cheddar and swiss)-- but the results are more than worth the effort! And the two spikes at the end are really good for stabbin' a cube of camembert, and then flingin' it across the room with a good flick of the wrist! Ah, the fun I have with cheese, even though I can't eat it...

Another cool thing I like about this knife are those big ol' holes in the middle of the blade. Not only do these voids minimize wind drag and help lighten things up, they're also good to have if you want to hang the implement up on your wall! Gee, what won't they think up next...

G'Bye

5-0 out of 5 stars Great buy
Great for small cheese blocks, for large blocks of cheese you will need a longer blade. This blade is too short for a 4-5 lb. loaf of cheese, there is not enough blade for leverage.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT PRODUCT!
If you are a cheeze lover like I am then you will absolutley LOVE this cutter. it is so easy to use and it cuts cheeze with ease (plus it for an unbeatable price) so go on... there is nothing to lose (eccept a regular knife) BUY it! ... Read more
