How do I say this nicely...
...DON'T!

I have been very patient with this product. I have had it for weeks, but waited to use it in different environments before 'judging' it. It makes a lot of noise like it's doing work, but when you look (even in direct contact with the rug) the dirt doesn't move. Air just blows out the sides. I feel like I really wasted my money. I'm told it can't be returned, and that just upsets me.

I bought it primarily for use in my car. Before I got around to my car, I tried it on my rug/carpet - even hard surfaces. I still have to go over with my upright vacuum, hence, it's of no use to me. I have it permanently plugged into the wall behind a chair in my dining area. I'm going to have to move it, because when I see it I get upset.

I finally tried it in my car last weekend, I ended up literally picking up after it. Yes, I cleaned my car by hand. Picked up all the little pieces by hand, which was about 90% of the dirt that was there before I vacuumed. A brush and dust pan will do MUCH MUCH more than this product does. Anybody want to guess how much a brush and dust pan will cost them as opposed to this?

At that price, I wasn't expecting a powerhouse. I just needed something decent to keep my car looking alright, and get into little corners my upright can't. But to have virtually no sucking power, be it $5 or $25 - it's a waste. I'm really, really disappointed. I'll give it one star - for turning on and coming with its own charger.

NOT ALL IT'S CRACKED UP TO BE
I BOUGHT THIS VACUUM BECAUSE IT HAD GOOD REVIEWS, WELL MAYBE I JUST GOT A DUD, BUT MINE DOESN'T WORK VERY WELL. IT'S BRAND NEW AND THE BATTERY DIES DURING THE SMALLEST JOBS. IT STARTS PULSATING AND THEN DIES. I FOLLOWED ALL DIRECTIONS IN CHARGING THE VACUUM, SO IT SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS, BUT UNFORTUNATLY IT DOESN'T WORK. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE.

My favorite!
I went through 3 Dustbusters before getting this one, and it has lasted way longer than any other hand vac I've ever owned. The long nozzle is a nice touch for under the kitchen cabinets, sand in the corners of the stroller seat, and for vaccuuming my kids' belly buttons, which they clamor for every time I turn the thing on. Easy to clean, and a good price-- you need one!

Sufficient
This cordless vac is used to vacuum the interior of my
car, mostly, and it works fine for that, plus for little
jobs around the house. The built in crevice tool is a
creative touch.

Lots of value at a great price
You know the sage advice? "Don't buy your wife cleaning equipment." Well, perhaps that isn't true with a "neat freak". I've bought my overly-neat but lovely wife jewlery, trips, clothes, flowers, etc., but I don't think I've ever been "praised" more than for getting her this little handheld vacuum. Literally everytime she uses it she says to me "I love this, thanks again honey". Well, we just bought a two story house and now she wants another one (one for each floor) which is why I'm here.

Wish I never bought the thing!
So we finally break down during the summer and bought a new vacuum. I was using an old canister put together with masking tape so you'd think that I'd be grateful for just about anything. Not so.

We got the Eureka Whirlwind model 5197A after much consideration and a fabulous sale. We made the switch to bagless a bit unsure about it but figured why not.

Here's what I liked about it;

1) The look of it; very mod looking
2) The suction; it's amazing what you can get out of your carpets, even in a house without pets.

Here's what I don't like about it;

1) The self propelled feature kicks in on it's own even when you don't want it; annoying that the switch between manual and self propelled is right on the handle and the very act of pushing the vacuum jars it into self propelled from manual. Usually just 3-4 pushes and it's back on self propelled. I personally don't like this feature and prefer to go slowly over my carpets and rugs to get ALL the dirt, rather than whizzing over them quickly and missing the dirt.

2) IT'S HEAVY; not only is this thing too heavy but if you're not careful the upright handle can fall. Which it did to me and landed on my foot...set me out of commission for half a day. I mean this thing is HEAVY. What a pain for lifting all the way to our 2nd floor to vacuum. Also...you can't do carpeted steps with it. I seem to recall reading that you are not supposed to but it's not like you can anyhow with the weight of the darn thing. I'm afraid to have my kids around it because it literally could hurt them if the upright part slams down on them.

3) It is eating my floors; so we just pulled up carpet and are waiting to redo our floors so right now I don't care but this is a major problem to me. When I vacuum my area rugs, the floor all around the rugs are scuffed and scraped by this vacuum. How are you supposed to do the edges of the rugs???

4) You can't push the thing when it's off. You have to either carry it or pull it. Just a minor annoyance.

5) I guess I don't like bagless....it's messy and you have to change the canister every time or every other time you vacuum. Maybe it's not as good on the sinuses but I prefer a bag that I can put in and forget about for a few weeks or so.

I just wish I never bought it. SO...what we're going to do when we get some spare $$$ is buy a new vacuum for the first floor and move this monster up to the 2nd floor where it's wall to wall carpet. I do like the suction but that's about all I like.

Lots of suction
It's a great vacuum. The cup is easy to empty. The vacuum does a great job of cleaning and really picks up a lot. It is self-propelled, thus easy to push. My only complaint is that there is no switch to turn of the beater bar especially when using the accessories. ... Read more

Works great - the Dirt Alert is an awesome feature.
I guess I'm not as particular as others, or maybe my old vacuum was so bad that I just don't know any better - but I am extremely pleased with this vacuum.
It cleans awesome, and the Dirt Alert feature has really helped me to get the most out of the time spent vacuuming (even if it does take a little more time - knowing the carpet is completely vacuumed is well worth it).
The only reason I don't give this vacuum 5 stars is that it can be a little tricky to maneuver. I guess the wide cleaning path is partly to blame, but there is some benefit to that, too.
The vacuum is not heavy and was relatively easy to vacuum steps. The ulphostery attachment works very well at picking up pet hair.
Overall a great value if you are considering this as a replacement.

This Vacuum REALLY [is bad] (Not A Compliment!)
At the recommendation of a friend, I bought the Eureka Victory vacuum cleaner. Big Mistake! It doesn't pick up dirt well at all and anything larger than the most microscopic dust particle will remain on the floor for all eternity unless YOU pick it up. This vacuum cleaner is not the absolute worst I've ever seen, but it's darn close. And that's not a good thing. And it clogs up when the bag is LESS than half full! Don't waste your time, energy, anger or money on this one. It really [is bad].

Cleans well, but not good at edges
Easy to assemble. Not that hard to push or pull. One attachment has no storage area on the vacuum. Doesn't clean edges very well, either using the front or the sides (leaves an area about 0.25in uncleaned). Cord does not store very well due to the long lenth (which is appreciated). Carrying handle is a nice feature when bringing the vacuum up and down the stairs. All in all, a good value for the price.

Nice sucker....
The vacuum is nice, easy to assemble and includes a bevy of
attachments. However, the vacuum is *NOT BAGLESS*. That is to say,
it needs to have a dust collection bag in addition to the HEPA filter.

the best vacuum I've ever had
I just put this together and vacummed up a storm. I have two cats and can't believe how much cat hair this thing sucked up! The hose is already attached which is great with a toddler! It's light and pretty quite too. It's easy to empty and easy to use as well. I am very pleased with this vacuum and would recommend this it to anyone. For the price it does an awesome job. It made two year old military carpet look good again!

GOOD pickup, POOR impracticle features
The price tag you're looking at is for the features and everyone seems to be giving this vacuum a high rating on it's power performance ONLY. You can find a vacuum with better features and equal power for cheaper.

PROS: 1) Good suction 2) Easy to empty 3) Three filters 4) Hasn't clogged and I've sucked up a bag of flour and have brand new carpet.

CONS: 1) IT'S HEAVY 2) It's very bulky 3) The hose is way too SHORT which really surprised me. I tried to pull it out to suck something up and it barely reached pass the vacuum. As heavy as the vacuum is you'd think they'd make the hose longer so you could reach the messes. Not to mention that it only comes with one extension (plus a brush and a crevice tool) 4) The duster is VERY IMPRACTICAL. It's what made me try this model and I never use it now. The first time I used it I knew I would never use it again. When you put the duster back into the holder it pushes the bristles back and throws the dust everywhere. It doesn't get an electrostatic charge (at least mine never did) so dust really doesn't stick to it very well. It just moves the dust around. You're better off with a good old fashion feather duster.

So to sum it all up, it's heavy and awkward to use, but it has excellent sucking power. Don't buy this for the features, you can find a vacuum with equal power for the same price (or lower) that has better features.

Dog Hair Magnet
I own a 85lb German Shepherd that does a lot of shedding. I bought this vacuum based on some reviews written about it and can only reaffirm the positive comments on it. I opened the box and tried it right away and after 1 min I had to empty all the dog hair it had picked up. It works great and would recommend it to any pet owner that has problems with pet hair.

Excellent value
I have this vacuum in the Lite version {4388BT}. It picks up really well and I haven't had any problems. I've owned many brands of vacuums over the years and I compared them for many months before buying this one at [local store]. It could use a longer cord and hose. But, you can buy attachments, etc., if you look on-line. It may not be for heavy duty cleaning. For the [money] it cost it was a good value but is being discontinued.

Best Vacuum For Your $
Vacuum shopping? Look no further! This vacuum has many of the features that all the fancy ones have for much less! It is quiet...my baby doesn't get scared from the sweeper anymore! It is VERY easy to push. My last vacuum ("swivel guide" Dirt Devil) was a serious workout and I hated it in everyway. This vacuum really picks up and can handle the job. We just had new carpet installed and it shedded constantly. I think we used this vacuum twice on it and VOILA...no more shedding :) By the way, it is really cool seeing everything that it picks up! The tools are easy and convenient. Last but not least, this vacuum is VERY light. I give this vacuum 5 stars! Keep in mind - very small
I had envisioned something bigger, but this guy is really small - basically a slightly overblown handvac with a small handle. At 5'10", I found I even had to stoop to vacuum my floor, and since the cord was so increadibly short, found myself having to replug it a lot even in my small studio apartment. It seems to have a lot of suction, but it would only earn my recommendation if it were a bit more substancial.

Sooo efficient on cat litter!
I originally picked this up for quick touch-ups, under the table after the kids eat, after day in the sand, etc. I found it works even better on my half-bath floor, the one with the litter box it! The head is small enough to fit around the toilet base, and dosen't kick the cat litter around like my full size vacum does.

A must have for bare floors
I just bought the Eureka Superbroom and I can not say enough about it. It works so well on tile. Very light, yet powerful and extremely easy to use. I love it!

LOVE IT!
I really like my super broom, I have a black lab. and he sheds a dog a day on my carpets and my super broom gets it up.. I do my 9x 12 rug and i fill the cup up with hair so i have to say it does the job for me,for quick jobs its great .. beats taking out the big vac. 1 drawback wish it had a better filtering system.

It's a super BROOM!
This is not a vacuum cleaner! It is an automatic broom. It does almost as good of a job as a real broom. If you're Martha Stewart, stick with the real thing and mop afterward. If you have significantly lower standards and less time, this is a great inbetween tool to use to quickly pick up bits of stuff off your hardwood, tile or linoleum floors so barefooting it isn't a disgusting experience. You'll still need to sweep and mop every so often, but I assure you that emptying the dust cup is not nearly the pain in the butt that the "squat to use the dustpan" manuever is. Great for people with kids
I got the carpet cleaner about a month ago and so far I think I got what I payed for. I have a two year old and this carpet cleaner has been a real life saver while living in an apartment. The only bad thing about it is that when I pack it up and put it away the soap leaks out into the clean water container and onto my floor where is has been sitting. I have fallowed all of the instructions on how to store it and nothing seams to help. This is the first carpet cleaner I have gotten and so far compared to the one's you rent I am happy. If you are looking to buy this carpet cleaner please look around to find the best price because the differ from store to store.

Great Cleaner
I got my Altantis last week and used it for the first time over the weekend. I usually rent a cleaner from my local grocery store and cleaned these same carpets with a rented machine 6 months ago. The Atlantis was so much easier to use! I went over each section of carpet twice and my carpets were completly dry in less than 2 hours. I love the fact that the handle folds for easy stoage and the entire unit (including attachments) fits under a shelf in my linen closet. This is the first cleaner I have ever purchased and I love it!

Carpet sopping wet-sore back
I was very excited about this new carpet cleaner. My Hoover had died after 6 years of use, and although I liked it very much I thoguht this Atlantis looked easy to use and small to store. Well, it arrived yesterday and I tried it right away. Well, it is now 24 hours later and my carpet is still wet in some areas!
I went over the whole carpet again and again and again and to no avail, the carpet was still sopping wet. The return tank never actually filled up all the way once even though I used 3 tanks of water on the carpet. The cleaner is very heavy and difficult to push. I admit I have shag carpeting, but when I used my hoover it was no more difficult than regular vacuuming. With this thing I actually had to heave it forward and pull it back with both hands. It was exhausting and back breaking. (I think without the water it weighs 35 lbs.) Well, it is back in the box with a return label on it. It just did not remove the dirty water from the carpet. Very disappointing.

Best extractor out there
I run a housekeeping department at a large resort and spa. I originally bought the 2591 used it, loved it, then found I needed the power scrubber and floor tools, so i returned it and got the 2595a, it is so powerful that 90% of all the water put out gets sucked back in. it is not the best on burber carpet. No back aches, it rolls easily, i use commercial products at work and I am thinking of buying a few of these instead of the ones i use at work that cost 3 times as much and do the same job. ...
