Life saver for all cooks
I bought this a month ago and have fallen in love with it!!! All dishes come out great and it takes hardly any time to cook all those so-hard-and-long-to-cook recipes.
Would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying one.

Very nice pressure cooker
This cooker is a good buy for the cost and is well made. I like that it is stainless steel with the aluminum bottom to evenly heat. I like the safety features and it was easy to use. My first beef roast, carrots and potatoes that I made was great. And in much less time than other methods.

I should have bought this long ago
I bought this cooker last year. My wife and I cooked Thai curry many times and each time took us over an hour. Because we have to simmer with med heat until the coconut milk starts to break out with oil. This baby saves us time and energy. A pot of curry (for 4-5 serving) now took us only 15 mins. Great with stew also. We experimented with beef and ribs for BBQ (before grilling) on the 4th and it was very satisfying. Only hassle is that I hate to hand wash it afterward. But I guess same goes for any pressure cookers. Highly recommend it.

Beginning in the 1930s, two generations of busy cooks employed pressure cookers to prepare family meals. The next generation, freighted with memories of valves dancing and hissing on stovetops, then snubbed pressure cookers. News flash--pressure cookers have come back, those old valves replaced by modern versions that ensure safety while delivering the speed, ease, and nutritional benefits of pressure cooking.

This heavyweight, stainless-steel beauty is a fine example of contemporary engineering and style. Its mirror finish gleams, and its black handles, including a loop handle for two-handed lifting, stay cool. Pressure cooking traps steam to heat foods at temperatures higher than boiling. This cooker has an aluminum disk sandwiched by stainless steel in its base to speed the process even more through fast heat conductivity. It's safe on electric, gas, ceramic, and induction stovetops. Little water is required, so nutrients, flavor, and color are not boiled away. Vegetables emerge vibrantly colored from the steamer basket insert. Stews, soups, beans--even meat loaf, pork chops, and desserts like bread pudding--come out tasty and nutritious. (Recipes included.) So much nicer than my old Mirro!
No "jiggler" noise like the old unit I had, just a soft hiss of steam escaping. Has 2 pressures (8 and 12 pounds), versus the old 5, 10 or 15 of the Mirro. Potatoes cook quicker, dried beans are a snap! Easy to clean, plus it looks really modern and snazzy. ;-)

I never used a pressure cooker before, but this cooker is great! It does get patotoes done in 6 minutes (from te time the pressure is built up) and they taste just as good as when you boil them conventionally. It really helps to get dinner on the table within 25 minutes of walking in the door. This cooker is a nice size for every day use and definetely worth the price.

Get one...You'll be GLAD you did!
I LOVE this cooker!!! It saves me time, work, money, nutrients, cooks 3-10 times faster. You can put food in even if not defrosted [although microwaves help that issue]. They make the best stews, soups, sweet and sour ribs, chili, puddings, cheese cakes etc. You can buy a really inexpensive cut of meat, put in your spices, some water and wine, and in less than 20 minutes it is fork tender. Whenever I have a recipe that calls for cooked chicken [like enchiladas], I buy the less expensive whole chicken, put it in the cooker and in 15-20 minutes it is falling-off-the-bone tender.

This one comes with a double locking system and two levels of pressure; one for veggies and grains; the other for more dense foods like dry beans, meats or squash. I would never be without one again. I'm going to order the companion 6 quart that Fagor makes for those larger meats and veggies!

Where've you been all my life?
I was very pleased with the impressive quality, design and function of this egg poacher. The eggs came out PERFECT. They popped right out of the cups. No messy clean up. Also, the generous handles to pick up the cups were not overlooked; they were so easy to pick up with an oven mitt. No fumbling with a fork to get the cups out like with some other egg poachers. The beautiful brushed stainless steel pan and glass lid were also extremely well made. I can't believe it's taken me this long to finally find the perfect poacher!

Perfection
A very high quality piece of specialized kitchen equipment. Does a perfect job of poaching. The glass lid lets you moniter the cooking process and it's vented. Has a nice weight and the teflon cups keep the eggs whole.
It's as easy as making a soft-boiled egg.

Excellent Product!!
I have bought the 6-quart Splendid sometime ago and liked it so much that i bougth this one too. The 6-quart i got is belly-shaped while this one is not. Other than that, it has the same same features. Shiny stainless-steel body with nice thick base. Very easy to use - one pressure setting and no more removable thing on top that jiggles (which can easily be misplaced or lost). When pressure inside is reached, a small yellow indicator pops out, thereby helping me accurately time the cooking and adjust the heat. I am pleased with the safety locking handles and the pressure release valve. And if I would need to replace the rubber ring, I can order it online too. Highly recommended! ... Read more

Well built paella pan
I have been looking all over for a reasonably priced but well made larger paella pan. I couldn't find any in the usual department stores and consumer oriented bath and kitchen stores. I then went to several high end culinary shops and suffered sticker shock at seeing good paella pans mostly in the $100 to $200 range with some priced higher. I searched the internet with only somewhat better pricing. When I saw the Fagor 15 inch paella pan at amazon.com at around $23 I thought I'd give it a try, figuring I'd get a cheap product made out of light metal for that kind of money. Boy, was I surprised when the item came. It is made out of heavy, thick aluminum with a high quality non-stick interior surface. The handles are thick stamped metal rolled to a nice diameter and riveted securely to each side of the pan. Instead of a cheapy pan that would be disposable after a year or two, this pan is built to last.

One thing to note is that the pan is not too deep being about 2 inches from top to bottom. However, this should not be a problem for serving a family with the generous 15 inch diameter. Also, the pan does not come with a cover, a negative for persons who may wish the pan to do double duty as a skillet.

The paella pan comes with a brochure of several paella recipes which provide some neat ideas for variations on the paella theme. I was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected quality I received for the price. ... Read more
