Beautiful Grill Pan, BUT...
It is a beautiful pan, if you have the right stove to use it. The grooves ("hills") [BTW, they are parallel + not concentric as the Amazon description states] have "valleys" on the bottom of the pan. If you have a gas stove, which I have not, - you will probably be very pleased. Don't expect to use this pan on a ceramic cooking surface or just a plain electric coil element as there is not enough contact between heating source + pan; you might damage either. I gave it away to my college kid w/ a gas stove.

No fuss, no muss
I've been using this grill pan for 2 years now. It is still in excellent condition, the easiest pan to clean that I own. It's perfect for grilling meat and fish . Spray with a light cooking spray on the heated surface. I found that if you pre-heat the pan the grilling is faster and cleaner. Very even grilling. Yep, I like it.

Cooks well but meat is impossible to clean off
I got this as a gift. I love how it grills but but there is one very extremely annoying thing about it. You will never, ever be able to completely clean it if you use it to sear or char meats. I've soaked it for hours in near boiling water with Dawn dishwashing soap, armed with an assortment of scrubing pads and brushes and you simply can not get into all the crevices completely. The fact that the groves are circular make it so much more difficult. I use to spend 20 mins trying to clean as best I could but eventually I always give up and put it away with it dirty. They would do so much better if they left the larger grooves but left off the 1,000 tiny circular grooves. Or if they made them a tad bigger with a better non-stick surface.

Vegetables and meats not requiring searing (as well as low fat meats like chicken) work well to an extent but for red meat and pork, plan on spending much more time cleaning one pan than you actually did preparing the meal. I think not being able to use a "grill" for that makes it pointless, unless your a vegetarian.

We Love These Pans!
I bought another 4 of various Circulon pans on sale the other week. I have had this set for 3 years, and I love it. It heats evenly, faster than my other pans (now all donated), and requires only medium heat to cook well. While others have spilled much ink on the issues of ridges or the non-stick attributes not working, we have had no such problems. (But we use only medium heat, no non-stick coatings, etc.) Go Circulon!

Terrific Value for the Money
I have used my Circulon Grill Pan for a wide variety of meats, fish, poultry, and vegetables. It always produces beautifully grilled foods, and clean-up has been extremely easy every time. I recommend it without reservation.

Perfect every time

Great for the money, check the size
I use this griddle every weekend for pancakes and such. Very heavy and the cirulon non-stick pattern on the griddle really works! I hardly ever use the handles except to put it on or take it off, but the plastic is holding up fine. The circulon pattern allows me to cook pancakes without adding butter to the pan. The little ridges seem to almost float the cooking item above them and there is virtually no stick with anything. However, that same pattern is a little more difficult to clean up later for the same reason. I use a soft brush after soaking, seems to work fine. I have had it for almost a year and its holding up great. Keep in mind it is heavy and gradual preheating is the trick. Also, make sure your stove has the room. Mine just fits. Oh, and if it were 1-1/2 inches wider, it would be perfect.

My new griddle fits my new stove top so I am a happy cooker
We just got our new stove top installed this week and one of the reasons we went out a got a set of Circulon pots and pans was because this double burner griddle fits perfectly on our new stove top. I figured this would make cooking bacon a lot easier, but I was really surprised and impressed by how quickly I got it to turn out perfect. How much credit goes to the stove and how much to this Circulon griddle I cannot say, but the two sure seem to be working out great in tandem. I still prefer to make my eggs in a separate pan, because it is easier for me to add all the odds and ends I like to throw in when I am scrambling, but his griddle also makes doing hamburgers and French toast a lot easier. I also like the spout on one corner that allows me to drain the grease with ease. However, I cannot use my griddle as a roasting pan because it is too big for my stove, but that is okay because I like the Circulon roasting pan I already have, with its built in rack. Because the griddle fits perfectly on the top of our stove top I do not have any problems with the handles getting hot, but certainly this is not going to fit everybody's stove, so take that into consideration. Having it "almost" fit would drive me crazy too, so check that out before hand. There are some relatively easy precautions you can take to help preserve your Circulon products, such as avoiding using metal utensils and hand washing them, but they seem a small price to pay for making cooking faster and easier.

I Love This Griddle
I've had one of these griddles for more than five years. It gets heavy use weekly, mainly for pancakes and grilled sandwiches. The secret to this non-stick surface is pre-heating. For instance, if you pour pancake batter onto the griddle, and then heat it up, the batter will stick in the grooves. If, however, the surface is up to cooking temperature (about medium on most stoves), the surface is like magic. We take this griddle with us when we travel, and even use it on the Coleman double-burner camp stove. On more than one occasion, while using the Coleman stove, I accidentally let the griddle get too hot. I realized it was too hot when the pancake batter started bubbling immediately. It was so hot I melted the spatula getting the pakcakes off! This rough treatment didn't faze the surface, though. Cleanup has always been easy. For pancakes, I just wipe it off with a paper towel and hang it back on the hook for next time. After cooking greasy foods, a little dish soap, a wash towel, and water is all that's ever been required. Take (reasonable) care of this griddle, and it will take care of you.

Great - but BEWARE of the SIZE
This is awesome, as is ANY Circulon product. Just remember that although the description says "24.75 inches x 11.75 inches x 2.0 inches" it's really 10" X 18" - I thought I got the wrong one, but the back of the packaging has the same product number. Ho-hum.

Suggestions for Circulon products: never use HIGH HEAT for more than a minute or so - always max yourself at medium high. Never use in an oven over 450. Sure, you can do it - and I have with the same first set of Circulon pots and pans for 14 years, but they'll wear a little more quickly and while the non-stick will still be in great shape, it won't be as slippery. Trust me, their products are great, I've used them for 14 years - the same first set - and I cook nearly every night.

Try the pots with the built-in locking colanders - it's my new favorite thing in the world.

Oh, and go ahead and use them in your dishwasher as long as your dishwasher uses condensation drying and not a heating element - like a Bosch dishwasher, simply the best.

Do not buy!!!
I bought this item on sale, and followed the directions for use exactly, and after the third time I used this griddle I noticed that the finish was starting to break down in several different spots. I was really disappointed and can not use this item since I am a parrot owner and nonstick surfaces once they start breaking down are lethal to birds.... can not recommend this product to anyone. ... 12inch round griddle
This surface, is the best one that I have ever used for cooking.
Using only less than a teaspoon of oil, it is totally NON STICK.
I use it mostly for sunnyside, over-easy eggs. It is great for
cooking two or more hamburgers, as well. I have tried many other
foods, all with great success.
There is just one flaw, the rivets to hold on the handle, are inside the cooking surface, and though clean-up is super-easy for the surface, residue from the food gets stuck on the rivets,
under the rivets, and between the rivets. This product could easily be rated a 5, or even 10 stars, if those rivets were covered, or attached outside the pan.

The perfect griddle
This is the perfect griddle for anything you wish to cook; be it flap jacks, eggs over easy or omletts -- especially, omletts. I have read the other reviews and disagree with two things. First, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use soap on this or any other Circulon pan. A sponge and hot water are all that are ever needed to clean this, or any Circulon product. I've had a complete set of pans plus a griddle for over two years and have never used soap on them and they are just as good as they were the day I got them. Second point, I use my griddle to cook eggs three or four times a week and the eggs never stick in the grooves to where you can't easily get them out with a sponge and hot water. All in all, you couldn't find a better griddle for whatever you wish to cook on it. One last thing, the heat distribution is perfect so regardless of where you cook a flap jack on the griddle, it will come out perfect.

I'm back at the stove
Cooking and clean-up are not my favorite things to do...I was given a skillet 2 years ago: sat in my cupboard for 1 1\2 years, unused. After using it, I discovered just how great it was to cook again. It was Circulon's 8" skillet. I proceeded to buy a set of Circulon Classic for myself for Christmas. I also purchased this griddle. Great for grilled sandwiches, cooking steaks without grease(used another pot lid to cover during cooking), frying bacon and then frying eggs in the bacon grease. Clean up is so easy: wipe off good with paper toweling and then hot water & soap with a soft cloth or sponge. I'm buying another one today. The other pieces in my set are just as great. Boyfriend fries cheese in his eggs....the skillet cleans up easily!!!! Happy in the Kitchen again!!!

awesome for pancakes
For making pancakes this pan is almost perfect. I say almost, because for the first several months it was so non-stick that it was hard to get a turner under the pancake - pushing on the edge of the pancake caused it to slide off the edge of the pan instead. I eventually bought the Circulon classic 12-inch french skillet for sloppier stuff - the skillet is the same size as this griddle, but has slightly higher sides so things won't slide off when you try to turn them. The two pans together are perfect for making batches of crepes (which wind up with cool concentric lines baked into them from the Circulon grooves, just like the pancakes).

This pan is a little fussy to care for (anodized aluminum can't go in the dishwasher), which is what lost it the star. The Circulon instructions for the pans are as follows:

* Standard care: Use low to medium heat. High or excessive heat will cause pan warping and permanent nonstick coating damage.

* Nonstick Sprays: Do not use nonstick sprays on nonstick cookware - an invisible buildup will impair the nonstick release system.

* Oil: Oil is not needed on nonstick cookware, but if you prefer oil for flavor, olive oil or peanut oil is recommended. Heavy vegetable oils may leave a residue that can affect nonstick performance.

* Cleaning: Before first use and after each use, wash pans thoroughly with mild dishwashing detergent and warm water. If food remains on the surface, boil a mixture of water and vinegar to dislodge the food particles.

In addition to the above, I also avoid scrambled eggs and sticky sauces (which will eventually crud up the grooves), and after two years, my pan is almost as non-stick as new.

For easy cleanup, I recommend the Oxo Goodgrips "palm brush", which has bristles that are just the right size and angle for the Circulon grooves. I also put a little vinegar in with the soap in the brush reservoir, to cut any oil left on the pan from the pancake batter. (I wish Amazon.com would carry this brush - I would buy one whenever I needed to get an order up to the free shipping limit).

Flap those Jacks!
When my "Teflon" pans were getting to the point where more of the bread stayed *on* the pan than came out with what was left of the grilled sandwich, I knew it was time for a change. This griddle has sturdy construction, durable coating - reminiscent of the former President, Old What's-His-Name? - and could, in a pinch I suppose, serve as a substitute cricket wicket. Remember to "season" it first before use with a coating of salad oil.
