For grinding larger quantities of coffee beans for a coffee-drinking crowd, Capresso’s commercial-grade Infinity grinder handles 8-1/2 ounces of beans at a time. Sixteen different settings--four each in the four categories of extra fine, fine, regular, and coarse--let you adjust the grind to the specific blend of coffee and method of brewing. The finest setting is ideal for preparing Turkish coffee, which is a rare feature to find in a grinder. A built-in timer sets the grind for anywhere between 5 and 60 seconds so you can walk away without having to constantly press a button to continue the grinding process. The Infinity has an advanced conical burr design made of steel that is usually only found on commercial grinders. This burr design slows down the gears and reduces the amount of friction and heat to preserve coffee’s flavor and aroma. The coffee container holds up to 4 ounces of grounds and remains sealed during grinding. For safety, the bean container also needs to be locked into place for the Infinity to operate. Also, fo easy cleaning, the bean container and upper burr lift off so you can clean the grinding chamber with the included brush and wipe down the and heavy-duty zinc die-cast housing. Capresso covers this burr grinder under a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars For the coffee gourmet
If you are serious about the quality of the coffee you drink, then you know that the beans must be fresh-ground right before brewing. The beans must also be uniformly ground to prevent over- or underextraction of coffee oils during the brewing process. A burr grinder, as opposed to a blade grinder, achieves a uniform grind since the beans only pass through its burrs once. This Capresso grinder has commercial-grade conical burrs that reduce the generation of heat which can ruin the flavor of the coffee. I like the fact that the bean container holds a generous half pounds of beans, so you can fill it and forget it for morning after morning of perfect coffee. The 16 grind settings allow grinds for every coffeemaker and blend. Cleaning the unit is a breeze. The top burr is easily removable, and the unit can then be cleaned with the included brush. The grinder operation is quiet. If I have any complaint, it is that the timer, marked from 1 to 10, is hard to correlate with grind time and the resultant amount of ground coffee. Although the fineness of the grind makes grind times vary, the enclosed booklet, which has tips for use, should have included some guidelines for timer/grind settings/yield to minimize the guesswork. I recommend this grinder for the coffee gourmet.

Operating at low heat to preserve flavor and aroma, this big, sleek coffee grinder can handle 3-1/2 ounces of beans at once, enough for 15 cups, and it grinds spices at well. The grinder's pulse action permits precise control so those fine arabica beans or cardamom seeds can be ground beneath the transparent lid from coarse to fine as desired. State of the art from its safety shutoff within 1-1/2 seconds to its stainless-steel blade to its wraparound power cord to its low-noise operation, the grinder stands 7-1/2 inches high and tucks away in the cupboard or in a corner when not in use. --Fred Brack ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Good if it's all you can afford, but...
it's well worth the extra money to spend $... more and get the Capresso 551.01. This has blades, not burrs. It can't store beans. It holds only enough for approx. 1 pot of coffee. There is no coarseness setting. It's basic, but it serves a very limited purpose well.

3-0 out of 5 stars OK, but small
Have not had any of the spillage problems reported. Question the long-term durability of the product, as I have used it <10 times, yet smell a burning smell whenever it is used for longer than 20 seconds. Also, it barely is large enough for one full pot. No real selector to make sure that you have a specific grind. Compact, cheap, and good-looking, but not too much of a grinder.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, Quiet, and Fast Coffee Grinder
This coffee grinder works pretty well; it is the quietest grinder I have used, the cord conveniently wraps around the base of the machine to save space, and it looks very stylish with its platinum color and unique shape. The only downside is that, if you want a fine grind, you have to give it a gentle tap and shake here and there to get the grind off the base since the stainless steel blade is a bit high and therefore does not get to the partial beans that sticks on the base.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Way to Start the Day!
Super to wake in the morning and grind coffee to your taste with a perfect little machine that takes up practically no room on the counter, stores easily away with the wrap around cord and makes perfect grinds. Cleans easily, no muss, no fuss. LOVE this machine!
