Nothing Special
It gets the job done, but is so sensitive and flimsy that the wash load is thrown off balance in EVERY spin cycle. You pretty much have to babysit the machine and rebalance the wet wash every time it tries to spin. That said, over time it's cheaper than wash-and-fold and less of a hassle than going to the laundromat.

very good small washer
This little washer works pretty good. Fast and clean. Save enery and time. Not consuming too much water and electricity.
One thing bad is that the faucet adaptor is not strong enough. It was pushed away by the water pressure the first time I used it. I replaced it with an all-screw adapter bought from homedepot. Then everything is OK.

Good stealth washing machine for apt dwellers!
I've owned the machine for about a week now and have done a few loads of laundry. In each case, the machine does what it's supposed to efficiently, extremely quietly, and with almost no vibration. In fact, you can't even hear the motor during the spin cycle until it reaches it's maximum spin speed...and even then, it's quiet. In Manhattan, where people in most apartments aren't really supposed to have these things, that's important.

The machine comes in a rather large box and has an assortment of gaskets, hoses, and connections. The hoses can either connect to the sink via a quick connect adaptor (included) or screw into a regular faucet connector. It's got a hot and cold water inlet and many many options on the electronic panel. Since I only have a sink adaptor and thus one source of water I only use the cold water inlet, even for hot water. It seems just fine with this configuration. Contrary to one of the reviews, you can change the program once you've started; you only have to hit 'pause' and switch options...and the machine only beeps six times if you open the door. I think someone else said it beeped until you close the door. It feels almost like an actual full size machine, and will fit about 3 pairs of jeans, 3 shirts, some socks, underwear, and a towel easily in one load. Maybe even more, but I don't like to stuff it full.

This machine has a very decent size tub with a very small footprint. I believe 1.62 cubic feet is the tub size, and it does have an agitator in the center. It comes with casters and makes it into my 22" closet door just fine so that I can hide it and isn't too heavy either. It's not a high end washer, but it gets the job done and it does it intelligently. I peeked underneath the machine and it seems to be put together quite simply, so hopefully it will last.

It hasn't leaked a drop yet also, though the sink outlet connection is at the bottom of the machine, so have a pot handy to catch water when (if) you disconnect this hose from the machine.

I've estimated that this machine will pay for itself in 6 months, but as far as I'm concerned, it has paid for itself already. NO MORE LAUNDROMAT!!! In this case, you get more than you pay for.

good machine
Cons: The body is metal, but inside tub is plastic. I don't think that matters much unless you wash clothes that have metal parts that may scratch up the plastic. The LED panel is intuitive, but I have to push the buttons real hard, which is a bit scary since the whole machine is useless if the control panel fails. The machine stops and keeps on beeping really loud if you open the door while it is going. Also, it doesn't allow you to change the settings once you've started.

Pros: Large enough for 2 people or bed sheets/small blankets. I find that the small or med load settings is sufficient for me (1 person). Clothes come out fairly dry after the spin cycle. There is a timer to let you know how long before the load finishes. There are 2 lint filters which works pretty well. The machine is pretty quiet (except when it beeps).

Connections: It allows easy connection to faucet (with quick disconnect adapter) or to regular washer hookups. I find that my bathroom sink doesn't empty quickly enough. Also, the discharge hose comes out on the bottom right side. I wished it comes out from the back instead to maintain the clean look.

I didn't get the service manual, so I called Haier customer service to see if they have an electonic version. Call was answered quickly. But, they wanted to charge me for a copy of the manual. So, if anyone can put a scanned copy online, please post the website. I'd really appreciate the help.

Love this machine!I bought this washer after my 15 year-old Maytag broke down.
After reading the reviews here, I decided to go for it.It is
more than I expected.Being in a digital age, I decided to get
this over the other model.
Light and easy to install, I was able to move the washer by
myself(as opposed to the heavy Maytag).
I connected the hoses incorrectly the first time but figured it out after awhile(red end goes into the washer)
The washer is quiet, wash my clothes clean and use a mimimum of
water.This washer would be suitable for a single person or a small family.Highly recommended!

defective machine
when I received this machine, I couldn't believe my eyes.

It's steel cover has one obvious bump; only 4 of the 8 screwes of the bottom cover could be fixed; most importantly, the inside tub is off-center, the high speed roation obviously will damage the engine. We even dare not to try to use this machine.

Haier in china is a famous brand, don't understand why its branch in america produce such a shabby machine. What's more, we contaced the support line of Haier, they said they will come to have a look, but in fact never, delay and delay again.

It is excellent
... I am satisified with the washing machine. It took me about 1-2 hours to read manual and install it. There is a small plastic part in the bottom of the shipping box, which is not a broken part, it is used to support the machine in shipping. You can put 4 wheels/casters on and then put on the bottom cover to reduce noise. When you return the machine in upwards position, don't forget to unlock the caster as you may break one caster clip as I did. But it can still be used to lock the caster. For tube connection, I just use one tube to connect to cold water inlet as my ketchen sink has only one faucet, which can provides hot/warm/cold water. The tube can connect directly to the machine. On the other end of tube, it is better to use the two big rubber washers included and then connect to the Quick sink faucet adaptor. The machine is very quite and works perfect. Does the job, but for how long?
Actually I purchased my Haier Dishwasher in late Oct 2002, and since then it washed my dishes as good and in some cases even better than some of its larger counterparts. However, in the middle of February the machine broke completely down on me, and I was forced to call Haier to repair my machine. Within a couple of days they sent a contracted repairman, and the repairman discovered that the control board of the dishwasher broke down. After some miscommunication on my part, the repairman, and Haier, they finally shipped me a factory new dishwasher. I was without a dishwasher for one month, but since I'm rather patient, I still consider this good service. So, unlike some of the other customers who did not receive such fast response, I'd rate Haier with 'very good' on their customer service (takes time to contract the repairman, send them the cord as proof that I'm not using the machine, and them shipping the machine). Now, if this machine works for a longer time period, it'll get five stars (since it washes the dishes as good as some bigger machines do), however if it does break down again, it would hit the one star rating for me (i.e. not worth buying) ;) Unforuntely, seems there is nobody who had the machine longer than for a couple of months, so I might write an update later.

Finally something worth my hard-earned money!
I am extremely satisfied with my Haier America HDT18PA Space Saver Compact Dishwasher. It does a wonderful job washing my dishes and let me tell you...it gets them clean...no leftover food particles or residue (I checked every dish for an entire week as I put the dishes away).

The perfect size for apartments, campers, rvs, anywhere! My new dishwasher replaced my old dish draining rack...what perfect fit! And my Haier dishwasher is not "chintzy"; it is a solid machine, and created with superior craftsmanship.

I figured that the money I paid for the dishwasher is much cheaper than all the time I waste standing there doing dishes. I can spend time with my family after dinner, instead of being chained to the sink. The Haier Space Saver Compact Dishwasher can wash the dishes faster than I can...6 minutes for a "rinse and hold" cycle, 21 minutes for a normal cycle (42 minutes for a "normal" wash and dry), and 42 minutes for a heavy cycle (53 minutes for entire "heavy" wash and dry). I was shocked to see how little water the washer uses. And according to the energy saver sticker that was attached, washing 6 loads per week, for an entire year would only cost $26.00 worth of electric. That's cheap!

Not only am I in a much better mood now, my husband doesn't hear me nag about having to wash the dishes anymore. The Haier America HDT18PA is a definite must buy!

Easy to use, reliable, works wonderfully
I bought this dishwasher for our office, since we have a sink, but drain lines and under-counter connection would be a problem. Our sink was always cluttered with dishes! But now this unit is right next to the sink, it looks great, even a bit high tech. The water intake hose is so easy to connect to the faucet, the drain hose goes right into the sink and is long enough to wrap around the back of the faucet and down the side of the sink. Both hoses are long enough to put the unit a couple of feet away from the sink if need be. This washes our cups, plates, silverware, etc. However unlike a high powered under-the counter dishwasher, you have to load it reasonably, can't cram or things won't get clean. The heavy setting cycle works best overall. I am so glad we have this product and would buy it again, it's a real value!

Countertop dishwasher
As countertop dishwashers go this one seems to be working wonderfully for my parents. We purchased the dishwasher last Dec 2003 for them for christmas and everything seems to be running wonderful. Mom didnt like the fact that the dishwasher does NOT dry the dishes but I tell her to do them at night and leave the door open and let them air dry. I too also own a countertop dishwasher (another company) and I have had mine for 6yrs and have never had a problem. It started out on my counter and has since been installed (no hoses hanging over the sink). I'm thinking about purchasing another one this year for my son and his girlfriend for christmas.

Failed after 2 month
I want to suggest any potential buyer to stay away from this washer. It is a crap. I agree that it washes very well, but the drying capability is handicapped(does not dry the plates completely) and the worst part! It failed to work after only 2 month of normal usages. One day it just stopped working, and I am trying to contact the customer support right now, and it appears that the people answering the phone is in India and I have to wait for someone else to call me back in US. Beware - it may not be what you expect.
We so looked forward to our "60-Bottle Wine Cellar, with Slide-Out Racks". Unfortunately, it was delivered damaged but Amazon.com was great about sending out a new one quickly, etc. No problem with Amazon.com. The problem is that the racks do not "slide-out" as Haier claims. If you lift the back of the rack out of a groove the rack can be lifted out - careful if you have 5 wine bottles on there! No "easy access" as it says in the product description. Haier should be honest and call them "adjustable racks" like in a regular refrigerator. We called Haier and they said their "gliding" racks come out on a track. But who knew to look for "gliding" instead of "sliding"? So if you don't need racks that slide out on a track so you can see the bottles towards the back of each rack, then you'll probably be happy with this unit. We aren't.

Doesn't Work Out of the Box
I took it out of the box, plugged it in and 10 minutes later it made a really loud continuous high pitch sound. Called Haier; finally got a guy to come out and he said we needed a new compressor! I wish I would have got it at Bestbuy so I could have returned it. I wouldn't recommend buying this on Amazon.

Good value for the money
Already had the 20 bottle Haier, but my collection outgrew it. Attractive, affordable and fairly quiet. Had some difficulty adjusting the temperature to where I wanted it, but once I got it set it has done a good job of maintaining it--the temperature within a particular region only varies by 2-3 degrees.

However, the temperature from top to bottom vaires by 8-10 degrees. Not a problem--according to Wine Spectator, 50-60 degree range is acceptable for storing red wines (in my case vintage ports). A slightly higher or lower temperature just means the wine matures faster or slower (but don't get too far out of this range, which the Haier can prevent). I have 4 thermometers in mine, spread from top to bottom. The top varies from 59-62 and the bottom 51-53. The other two thermometers show the middle region maintaining a temperature of 53-57 degrees. The bottles I plan to drink within 10-15 years of the vintage year are on the top two shelves, the rest lower.

NOTE: This unit should not be used in an area where the temperature may excede 80F. It will still cool, but not as well and will run more frequently.

BOTTOM LINE: I will probably by another unit of this model or a larger Haier when my collection grows enough to need it.

Poor Service
This unit may work fine but it arrived in non-working condition. It had no power when plugged in. Haier was called and service person came out but could not get response from Haier. No call backs, no nothing. Haier parts and repair service is not satifactory. Unit is still unrepaired and will be returned after a month of trying to get part and response.

If you need a cellar and are looking for a great buy.......
... this is the cellar! Especially if you are looking for a basic model to hold your growing wine collection. This model has standard features, nothing fancy: double-lined plastic? door (outer convex door is plastic, not sure about the inside door); basic shelves (I wouldn't slide them out, though); adjustable temperature (mine seems to run 2-3 degrees cooler than it's programmed for) that is easy to read. And it works just fine.

If you are on a budget, have limited space or are just looking for a basic temp-controlled, convenient place to keep your best wines, you can't go wrong with this. I haven't seen other 60-btl. chillers in this price range.

If you're thinking about getting a smaller model, consider upgrading to this 60-bottle unit. Your wines will add up quickly and, for the slightly extra cost and height, you'll be glad you have the storage available. My friends thought it was too much for me to get a 60-btl chiller (and I live in FL where temp control IS NEEDED), but they've come around as the cooler's become fuller. And a couple of wine novices are now interested in getting a cellar for their homes.

It should be said -- as one of the reviewers below noted -- the compressor is not silent. You'll hear it kicking in. So don't get this one if you are looking for a quiet deluxe chiller.

Last note: kudos to Amazon for including this item with my Free SuperSavers shipping options! Not having to schlep the big box home from the store and up the stairs was worth it!!

Great Product
Received as a Bridal Gift. Very nice, beautiful non-reflecting curved glass shows off our collection of Napa Wine.

Important Point to Consider
This model does not feature UV protection on the glass door so it's useless for storing wine long term except in a garage or basement. If you plan on installing in your kitchen, get something else with UV protection. Haier has a higher end model that does feature UV glass. Too bad because I think it's very stylish and understated and actually nicer looking than the higher end model.

The main thing to remember here is that you need to either situate this in a dark place (a basement would be better than a garage since your electric bill will be less) or you need to plan on using it only for short-term wine storage -- very important fact to remember in deciding on models to purchase.

Great wine cooler for small spaces - holds more, too!
In spite of previous reviewer who obviously can't fit the bottles in right, I managed to store 47 (yes, 47) standard 750ml bottles. All you have to do is alternate the direction the necks point on the bottom two shelves, holding 4 each. I fit 9 on the top shelf alone, but it has to be the right bottle shape. The other five shelves will hold 6 bottles each - 5 in a row, plus a sixth at a right angle so you can see the label thru the door. It's a snug fit, but it can work...

I use this to store red wines, and it does a great job for my needs. I have a small apartment, and this unit's size was perfect. It keeps the wines at the proper temp, and yes there's a faint bit of gurgling noise when the compressor is operating, but no more noticeable that your household fridge.

For the money, this is really a great deal, esp. with the 5-year warranty. ...

Not perfect, but a great value for a decent product
This is a good wine cellar for the price. It's compact, quiet, and unobtrusive, the motor doesn't generate heat (very important in our non-air-conditioned home).

It maintains a constant temperature, but I recommend using a separate calibrated thermometer to verify the displayed temperature. We found a 5-degree discrepancy between the displayed and actual temperatures. You can't recalibrate the thermostat (or at least the manual provides no instructions on how to do so), but you can simply adjust the thermostat setting to make up for any discrepancy.

My one complaint is that there is no way the unit can accommodate 42 bottles as advertised. It will hold 36 regular bottles, max. Maybe the manufacturer included half-bottles in its claim? Regardless, I recommend doing what we did, and zoom the photo of this or any other Haier wine cellar and count how many slots are available. We counted 36 in the photo, which is exactly how many bottles the unit will really hold. We had done the same with the 30 bottle unit and counted only 28 slots, which is why we orderd this larger unit.

But all in all, it's a solid product, and you can't beat the price.

Horrible horrible customer service
This came damaged (minor damage, the light won't go out, which makes the wine warm and ups my electric bill), but we've called customer service FOUR times and still have not had a service call or a replacement part sent.

Great value
I bought this from my Gold Box specials, at an amazing price. I've always wanted a wine cooler, but most are too expensive.

I pulled all my good and not so good wines out of closets and cabinets, and they fit neatly into this nice little cooler. I keep it in my living room, which doesn't get a lot of sunlight, so I'm not worried about UV rays. It's quiet, attractive, reliable, and handy.

I also use it occasionally for coffee or cheese or other refrigerated items that don't have to be too cold. It maintains a temperature of about 50 degrees, which is displayed just above the door.

You don't have to be a wine snob to get this cooler.

Excellent product
I received the Haier BC112G a couple of weeks ago, perfectly delivered by the freight compagny Amazon uses. I am so far very satisfied by this product: the price is right, its sleek look is a nice addition to my living room, it is pretty quiet (not disturbing at all, although you can hear it of course), it easily accomodates 30 bottles, it has a good height allowing variations of temperature between top to bottom, digital temperature, a basic lock - useful if you have kids, and finally a good warranty. I had made extensive research, this product along with free shipping ranks among the top options for any wine fan. Only potential negative point I could raise is that I am not certain if the smoke glass door protects against UVs - it does according to Haier customer service, but doesn't according to some internet reviewers.

Great for limited or tight spaces
I hate having wines sitting out and waiting to be chilled. This is an awsome product and the price is great. Amazon has the best price on this that I have seen, over $90 more on another website. The racks are perfect for those liquors you need to keep chilled upon opening. I know someone who uses the racks to hold cases of overly expensive cigars.

Customize the temperature settings to how what you prefer wines. For added security, you can lock the cabinet, which is nice. The top of the cellar is skid proof so you can open and serve your wines up top without the worry of it slipping off. Last, but not least, the legs are adjustable and can be used on any flooring surface.

The cabinet is a greatsize, but not to big to go in a small apartment, office or fit in a tight space in a kitchen.

Good... while it lasts
I bought this for my wife less than two years ago and it has been in one place the whole time. Up until last night, it worked fine.

Last night I noticed that the temperature (normally restricted from 45 - 60 degrees) had dropped to 23 degrees. Despite efforts to "reset" the temperature, it still kept chilling. It must be the thermostat, but the warranty is for only one year (except for the compressor, which is 5 years).

The nearest authorized service center is 30 miles away, so the time and cost of repair makes me want to warn others that:

This is a good unit, but I would look for something with a longer warranty. Under two years of service is pretty grim for the cost of this item.

Update: Unplugging the unit overnight and placing towels to soak up melted ice seems to have corrected the problem. I upgraded my rating to only three stars, since the manufacturer did not suggest this to me.

Inability To Control The Temperature, Noisy
I have owned this beer dispenser for 11 months. In that time I have had 4 service calls all for the same problem, inability to control the temperature. At first when I got it I could not get the temperature to go below 47 degrees F. A service call was made and the thermostat and the thermocouple were replaced. It worked for about 5 weeks, and then the temperature went back to 47 and stayed there. Another service call and the same solution with the same results. It works for several weeks, and then the temperature starts drifting up. In December yet another service call for the same problem. Again the thermostat and the thermocouple were replaced. That fix lasted about four months. I thought it was finally OK. Well last month (May) it started drifting down. I kept turning the thermostat up, and the temperature kept going down after a few days. It settled at 32 degrees F, and I froze a quarter full keg, and some sodas I had in there. I got another keg and now with the thermostat turned all the way up to warm it stays at 30 degrees F. I have now frozen another keg. Again I have another call into Haier customer service and have asked for a replacement. It works great!
It works as great as it is. Certainly I don't expect it to be as powerful as the ones we seen in optical shops, yet it serve the purpose for home-use desktop cleaning.

Pretty good on most items, easier than scrubbing forever!
I read the 1st review of this item, and ordered the cleaner anyway, hoping for better results. Indeed my Haier machine works quite well. BUT...don't expect jewelry and coins to come out sparkling clean, like the pictures and the hype. Instead, think of the machine as a shortcut to a lot of scrubbing with a toothbrush. Earrings gunked up with hairspray were somewhat cleaner after a few cycles; but then after just a short scrub with a soft brush, they were as good as new! Same with diamond rings, etc. The cleaner helped greatly, but did not clean everything immaculately all by itself. The cleaner really gets into the nooks and crannies in watchbands, etc., but again, some follow-up is needed with a brush.
In my opinion, it is definately worth it's purchse price.

Didn't Work For Me
After hearing how Russian Doctors use sound to clean their hands before surgery, and how som Counterfiters used sonic dental cleaning devices to remove the ink from one dollar bills, I was looking forward to sonic cleaning machines for the home.
This one didn't clean my dentures at all. When I tried my eye glasses, they wouldn't even fit completely in the tray. It didn't clean them either. I tried my Silver Medalion, and Bronze Challenge Coin. They looked the same coming out as they did going in.

Damaged
I agree with the other "rater". I insisted that the box be opened up prior to taking it from the shipping site. Sure enough, the fridge was dented on two sides. The packaging was awful. A VERY thin foam siding inside a box. I wasn't surprised that the fridge was damaged. I sent it back and now am awaiting a refund. Very disappointed!

Not packed to be shipped!!!
I ordered this item twice! Both times it came damaged with a torn up box. The item was packed in a very thin cardboard box that was thinner than a moving box, and had no padding or styrophome or anything. It arrived with a torn box and the chiller was severly damaged. Ok for the money, if you don't need service
My cellar needed servicing, as it came with a minor defect (light would not turn on because the door did not match up with the light push lever). While they advertised a 90-day warranty, the service company they contracted with would not come to our town (said he was too busy in the adjacent town) - Haier apparently had no remedy. The place I bought it was 3 hours away or they would've had the thing back. If you can afford it, buy a little higher quality cellar!

Great cellar for the price.
I've had this now since January and I can tell you the wine chills perfectly for the pallet. Not too cold and not too warm. The size also fits a household wine tasters pallet. You can also keep beer and other refrigerated items in this. The shelves and basket come out. This has a control knob for the perfect temperature. I would recommend highly and buy it on Amazon. They give you the perfect price.

The best money can buy
During the black out of 2003 we had no power for 14hrs and when the power came back on the temperature was still in my set range.

Warning to buyers
This company does not have a service department that is functional. We bought one of their washer/dryers for about [$]. They do not return service calls, although they promise and do not return emails. They will not supply the names of dealers that service their product.

They bring fulfillment to the adage, "Let the buyer beware." We have wasted hours trying to get our machine fixed. Do not buy one of their products.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY YOU SAVE IN SHIPPING!!
We bought this water cooler about 3 months ago and now are running into the same problems the previous reviewers had. The cold water is now HOT and the taste of the water itself is TERRIBLE. The fan has broken and we are replacing it with a leftover computer fan until we can get a new cooler.We are an employer and have about 60+ employees. We are unable to keep the water cool enough and it really does not hold up well to the amount of people who want to use it. We are actively searching for a better model at this time. Save your money and put it towards the shipping charge of a higher-end model.

Move on to a different brand
I agree with the other review. The water tastes so bad nobody wants to drink it. Not quite what I had in mind when I wanted to drink bottled water instead of tap. Also, very difficult to get the bottle onto the unit without spilling it everywhere. I also bought it for the free shipping but would have been better off buying one in store so it could be returned.

Don't buy this water cooler...
From the moment we got this water cooler, it has been a pain in our backside...
First, the rubberized tubing used inside the unit imparted a really horrible taste that could only be reduced by flushing the unit with over 50 gallons of water. The taste was like gasoline and rubber-like drinking water from a car tire. The taste now is significantly reduced, but there is still a hint of rubber. This problem would not be present if they used standard vinyl tubing. How do we know this? Because we had to open up the back of the unit to figure out where a rattle was coming from. We discovered that 2 screws holding some key components were loose.

2nd - After a few weeks of use, we noticed that the COLD water was coming out HOT. So we opened up the back of the unit AGAIN, and found that the fan which is necessary for the cooling unit to function was broken. Luckily, we had an extra computer fan lying around, so we replaced it.

Anyways, we bought this unit for the free shipping, but it was NOT worth it...Save your money, don't waste it on this product. Hope this helps some of you!

Good price but...
Bought this cooler in Feb, by April a seal went out and it started leaking water. Haier offered to replace for $15 or let me take it to a repair center. I took it to the center in the intrest of helping local business and costing Haier as much as possible for a faulty product. Other then that, my only complaint is the difficulty in puting a bottle on it without getting water everywhere. (it has a small opening on top that water splashes out of)
