Nice price, nice appliance
Can you beat the price? And the style is pretty good, even with its old fashioned dial for a timer and its small size. We are not really 'microwave people' but we gave in when we needed to heat baby bottles, and this one has fit into the kitchen nicely. Recommended.

I like this microwave. No frills, no malfunctions. But if you want to heat something for 20 seconds (a loaf a bread perhaps) you can't. I make my son do the counting and we enjoy the simplicity.

A piece of junk from a company that could care less.
We received one of these as a Christmas gift from our son. From the start, it was a pain to get the jugs on the opening and we had to devise a way to wrap foil around the bottle and hustle it onto the cooler. Once the water runs through the cooler, it acquires a real nice plastic/styrene taste. Yeah, might as well drink water straight from Lake Erie. Whatever, my wife seemed to enjoy it, I guess it's an acquired taste. I still remember having the flu and her bringing in some tea made with the "hot" water from this luke-warm dispenser. Make me puke.

Well, after five months the old thing gave up the ghost. Yup, died on us just as we started to need that cooler function. There's nothing like a glass of cold, plastic-tasting water on a hot summer day. But the 80 degree temperature in our kitchen was too much for old Haier. She gave up the ghost, wouldn't cool, and couldn't heat, because when she was hot, it wasn't any warmer than 80 degrees anyways.

Well, we called the company, and their advice was "unplug it for a day and see if it works then."

We did just that, and it still didn't work, but at least the water still tasted like plastic, so that part was O.K.

Then they told us box it up, stick a money order for $14.95 in there and we'll tell UPS to pick it up and we'll send you another one.

I spent an hour looking for a box big enough for this sucker, my wife spent an hour packing it and a few bucks on tape. But UPS didn't show up. So we called them, and they said "NO, NO," that's the procedure. You got to send us a copy of your receipt, then we'll authorize it. Then send us the money order. Then we'll send UPS to get the box." Hey, that's cool, by then, it will be winter and we won't need the cold water.

Well, my son didn't have the receipt. So we made another call. And they said "too bad." No receipt, no repair. I called three other times, but they all had the same story. I'm still waiting for the supervisor to call. And of course Junk-Mart rip-off-small-town-America, send-the-work-to-China Walmart don't want to bother with it, even though they sold it and pushed their holiday sales expectations way over the top. What, take care of the customer? No way, man. It's your headache when you leave the store with it. We got your money, now spend some more so we can make those commercials and tell everyone how great Junk-Mart is to work for.

Long story short. My five-month-old water cooler is on the tree lawn for the trash man. I'll never buy another Haier America (read CHINA) product. And I'll never shop at Junk-Mart, I mean Wal-Mart, again.

Life is good. By the way, Amazon is a reputable seller. Buy from them, not Wal-Mart.

Noisy machine runs all day.

Within 30 days the cold water section stopped working (though it still produces somewhat hot water, which is quite useless for lemonade)

I have seen other reviewers claim that you should not leave it running all the time - who will do that???? Isnt a water dispenser supposed to be plugged in and ready?
AVOID THIS MANUFACTURER, the tv I got also sucks

I wish I had read the reviews here before I bought mine (not from Amazon). I chose this model b/c it is one of the smallest that will hold standard 3 gallon bottles. It is small but that is about all. It makes a noise that is louder than others I have had. I have only dispensed about a gallon but the chemical taste is far worse than my tap water! Also the reservoir must be small b/c I filled a few 16 oz glasses and it was out of cold water. The buttons are small and harder to push and hold for the extended period of time that it takes to fill a glass. Filling bottles is tricky b/c you can't see exactly where the spigot is. I am returning mine and going back to renting from the water company...

Disappointed
The other bad reviews are correct. Mine did taste like chemicals for the first 4-5 gallons of water. After that it was regular tasting.

The water isn't very cold and the water output is small stream, about 1/8 inch. Takes forever to fill a cup.

It does run all day and isn't very efficient. The water should be colder for the amount of time spent cooling.

I just went on vacation for one week, so I unplugged the unit to save energy. I returned, plugged it in and all it did was get REALLY hot, the unit, and the water was hot coming from the cool spigit.

I have only had the unit less than 4 months. I looked at the warranty and the nearest repair shop is 4 hours away in my case. It isn't worth the time, effort and money to get it fixed since I paid 50 bucks for the unit.

Yes, buy it!
I really did shop. I shopped and compared, and relentlessly critqued before I finally settled on the Haier. I wanted something that would fit in my office, but not get in the way. I needed something that would give me instant hot water, but that I could go to for just water anytime. I got everything I was looking for and more. The Haier is compact and fits perfectly in my office. The hot water is available instantly and is the perfect temperature. Dannon Spring Water (available in the grocery store) has a 1 gallon container with a mouth that fits the dispenser - so I don't even have to order water for it. The single best feature is the set of on/off switches that turn off the heater and separately the cooler. The cooler is somewhat noisy (a whirring fan) so I can turn it off for most of the day then start it up in the afternoon when I usually want cold water. Then I turn everything off before leaving at night and never worry about the safety of leaving it running.

Not too bad for the price...
This wine "cellar" was a great buy from Amazon.com especially with free shipping! I purchased it at only a little bit (just under $...- on clearance) more than the 42-bottle cellar and as such has a great bottle-to-dollar ratio. It looks nice and fits great into the room it is in.

There are a couple of things that are detractions to the product. 1) It is noisy. When it kicks on it is rather loud and stays loud until the compressor turns off again. I am a bit worried about possible excessive vibrations but I don't know enough about the effects of such on wine and its storage to justify my fear. 2) The temperature range is supposed to stay within ten degrees but I find that on occasion it fluctuates a little more than that.

With all that said. I can't complain. I am not a connoisseur, just an enthusiast, and so this wine "cellar" is good enough for me.

Excellent value in a stylish unit
This modern wine cellar is an excellent choice for someone for whom a mini-unit storing 20 or 24 bottles wouldn't be enough, but a refrigerator-sized unit would be overkill. We're very happy with our Haier, with its space for 46 bottles, and a sleek black-and-gray design that would blend in with many home decor choices. Standing more than four feet high, it's not for someone with very limited space (or someone who minds a very quiet hum from the unit once in a while), but if you've got the room and you care about how your wine is stored, this would be an exceptional value for your money. ...
