This aesthetically pleasing herb-chopping bowl is perfectly designed for its function. The slightly scooped bowl holds a handful of fresh herbs while you gently rock the curved mezzaluna ("half-moon") blade to chop them to the desired fineness. The matching curves of bowl and knife work perfectly to turn what can be a tedious task into a pleasing one. The modest size of the bowl (9-1/2 inches square) means that it's easy to pick up to add the herbs to your cooking. Don't be tempted to wash the bowl or blade in the dishwasher: the natural wood and oil finish require careful cleaning by hand with a mild soap. a must have for herb gardeners!
I bought this for my husband (the chef in our home) last year and he still raves about it. We use a lot of fresh herbs in our cooking, and this tool has made it much easier to mince them *safely*. It cleans up easily and looks great too!

Chopping herbs has never been easier
I saw this exact Mezzaluna chopper in an article about herbs in a recent issue of Cooking Light. It seemed to be the perfect alternative to chopping herbs on a flat surface. With the Mezzaluna you don't have to keep gathering the chopped herbs back to the center of the board, they fall back to the center naturally. Your fingers aren't in danger of being chopped off in the process either, because you don't have to hold the herbs while you chop. Just rock the *very sharp* curved blade over the herbs. Whoever designed this board knows that bread kneaders can get pretty vigorous. The front rail is designed to lap over counter edge to provide stability while the back rail traps errant ingredients. The rails and the 3/4-inch-thick New England mountain maple construction prevent warping. You might reserve one side of this board exclusively for breads and pastries and use the other side for veggies and fruits. Portable and Elegant Counter Top!
I highly recommend the J.K. Adams Counter board...I have a Tavolini (little table) Board and thought it was the perfect surface for kneading bread dough, rolling pastry or making Pasta.. Until I recieved The J.K.Adams Counter Board as a gift.. I quickly changed my mind, this board is the abosolute best! It's larger than other board surfaces at 20" x 24" ...there is a niffy lip to hook securely onto the edge of your counter or table. and at 12 plus pounds it stays put on your counter or table..In my opinon one of my favorite features, are the (3) side rails that keeps the mess contained...and the flip side can be used for chopping veggies...I consider this to be two boards for the price of one!....
