Amazon.com Review

When mixing up big batches of cookies or bread with a KitchenAid mixer, you don't want to have to stop to wash the bowl. An extra bowl to fit the mixer is a welcome addition to a kitchen arsenal, and this bowl earns its place in the cupboard, because it will also be used as a versatile mixing bowl independent of the mixer. It's made of thick polished stainless steel with a brushed steel interior and a flat base to rest securely on the counter, and has two brackets for fitting into the mixer. Its superb quality will last through a lifetime of cooking. --Marcie Bovetz ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Kitchen Aid, the best, as always.
Kitchen Aid make the best products, and this 3 quart bowl for the essential stand mixer is another great product. It makes a super addition to your mixer. I could not live without my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. It is my #1 favorite small appliance. I have given one to both my mother, and my mother in law. This Christmas I am adding on to my mom's collection with the 3 qt. bowl. She will love it as much as I do. I also have the meat grinder attachment and love it. Anyone who cooks at all needs the mixer, and anyone who cooks a lot would love this bowl.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't forget the egg whites!
If you do any baking requiring whipped egg whites, this bowl is the perfect companion to the 4.5 quart bowl that comes with the mixer. Beyond that, it's just nice to have if the big bows is tied up and there's something left to mix.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect little bowl!
I'm so happy I bought this little bowl to have in addition to the 5 quart bowl, it's already gotten lots of use in just the few weeks I've had it. It's a tiny bit difficult to remove from the stand due to the lack of a handle, as other reviewers noted, but I don't mind because not having the handle allows me to store it inside the bigger bowl. Frequently, the smaller bowl is all that's needed and I find myself more inclined to use it for small jobs such as whipping a few egg whites or a small amount of cream or icing. For me, it's one of those "don't know how I got along without it" situations!

4-0 out of 5 stars For small jobs
This is a nice bowl to have on hand for small jobs. It nests nicely inside the 4.5 quart bowl that comes standard with the mixer.
Pros: space saving, an extra bowl is always worth having, it's KitchenAid, what more can I say?
Cons: no handle (the Amazon review was copied from the 4.5 quart bowl review), too small to do everything without spillage.
For me: not worth it. For extra you can have an extra 4.5 quart bowl. The handle is essential and this bowl doesn't have one. But if you're short on space and would like a bowl for small jobs, this would be a good buy.

4-0 out of 5 stars a space saving spare bowl
This smaller bowl nests inside the original mixer bowl that comes with the 4.5 quart pivot-head kitchenaid mixer, so you can store all of your bowls, and the basic attachments (barely) on the mixer stand without taking up valuable cupboard space.

Unlike the 4.5 quart bowl, this bowl doesn't have a handle, which may matter more than you think when you're twisting the bowl out of the mixer socket. Recipes that tend to "creep up" the mixer bowl sides will also creep right out of this one, so it may not be the best choice for all cooks. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars especially useful for very large quantities
In combination with the food grinding attachment, this accessory for the Kitchen Aid mixer makes short work of any sausage making task you set before it. I've helped friends cook feasts for 200+ people with this attachment and everyone eating was stunned at the short amount of time it took us to make their fresh, homemade sausage.

This attachment beats a hand-crank grinder and extruder easily. And because it attaches to the mixer itself, I've found it far more stable and easy to access than the grinder-extruder combinations that mount to the countertop. With precious little in terms of countertop space, the mixer takes up more room, but the ease of use more than makes up for that. In combination with the food grinder, I can process an entire deer's worth of meat in an evening with this attachment.

Meat sausage isn't the only thing you can process with this fine attachment. Fruit sausages work equally well and the opening in the extruder is wide enough even for larger items. For the more creative among us, you can use the extruder to fill things like balloons and other awkward items much more easily than with a funnel and an extra pair of hands. You'd be surprised at exactly how many things you'll find you can use this attachment for.

The cleanup of this attachment is a breeze. Nothing sticks to the plastic and soapy hot water makes short work of a dishwashing task that would otherwise be onerous on the hand-crank machines. Better yet, throw it in the dishwasher. For the work I've put mine through, this attachment paid for itself based on ease of use alone before I was done with my first batch of sausage.

3-0 out of 5 stars A good attachment, but you need the grinder, too
I was disappointed that the Kitchen Aid grinder attachment didn't include this part as a standard piece. I mean, if you are grinding meat, chances are, you might want to make sausage, eh? This is merely a plastic nozzle that goes onto the grinder. If you don't own a grinder, you need to purchase that as well, so don't be fooled. And I think it is a bit pricey. Hence the three stars.

As far as operation, this works fine, so does the grinder. Overall, the Kitchen Aid attachments, though clunky in some respects, make good use of that powerful motor and keep down the gadget sprawl in the kitchen cupboards and drawers.

4-0 out of 5 stars I am a sausage maker at last!
Very easy to use once you get it attached...Pretty cool too...just mount the casing and push the meat down and voila! you made your first sausage. You really could use this for other stuffing as well...makes a great evenly distributed grind.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cost ratio excellent
I wouldn't say this is the fastest extruder around, but then I do 20-30 lbs of sausage at a time (for smoking). I would much rather own a professional-grade extruder, but those cost anywhere from $...and that's just startin' out. This attachment is well worth the few bucks if you've got the meat grinder already. In the services these inexpensive attachments have provided me, my Kitchen Aid mixer has paid for itself over and over and over again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Homemade sausage made easy!
If you have a Kitchenaid mixer with the food grinder attachment, this sausage maker attachment is a neccesity! It is very easy to attach to the grinder. Get some casings from your supermarket butcher department, slip them onto the sausage tube, put the meat mixture in the grinder and turn it on. Sausage comes out of the tube with ease. It never sticks. Just slide the casings off as the meat extrudes. Twist the casing to size the sausages. There is nothing easier. Beats a hand grinder sausage extruder. Get this! ... Read more

This beautiful and complete set of cookware is made with a specially processed hard-anodized aluminum core and exterior and an 18/10 stainless steel cooking surface. Unlike other anodized aluminum cookware, KitchenAid has developed products with a new marble-like appearance, which won't scratch or mar, and which is easier to clean. The stainless-steel lining doesn't react to acidic foods, while the hard-anodized exterior conducts heat quickly and evenly. Also, the stainless-steel handles stay cool to the touch, and are riveted for a lifetime's worth of lifting. The pan's deep-lipped lid design ensures a tight fit for faster cooking times and a minimum of rattling. This set takes a cook through just about any stovetop recipe, and all of the pieces are oven-safe. Hand washing is recommended, since harsh dishwasher detergents can mar the finish. --Julija Gelazis

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE MY COOKWARE
I got this set for my birthday. The large stock pot is perfect for a family of four. It is large enough to make just the right amount ot stew. The hard exterior keeps the heat distributed so that is has perfect even cooking. It is sturdy & I don't think I will ever have to worry about the handles coming off of the pans or lids. The nine pieces cover any cooking need I have. I love this set & am very thankful I was lucky enough to receive it as a gift!! It is a maker I trust & is definitely worth buying!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Great quality, bad handles
I was initially inclined to give this set 5 stars. Beautiful, well-made, and a killer price. However, after cooking one meal I boxed it back up. Why? well, the design of the handle is so horrible that when holding it at stove level I put so much strain on my wrist that I had to ice it for 2 days!! A week later and I'm still in pain. I cannot recommend these well-made pans to anyone, given the horrible design of the handles.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely the BEST I've ever owned!
I bought my set a year ago and couldn't be more pleased. Not only is it fabulous to use, but it is so easy to clean. A huge plus--the exterior doesn't seem to get black marks or stains like my old Calphalon set (which cost about the same). If you are looking for a set of cookware for the serious cook, this is it. Even heat distribution, beautiful to look at and easy to clean--you can't go wrong.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great cookware
I got this cookware for a great price on ... and am very happy with it. It compares very favorably with all-clad (although I do prefer all-clad's handles). I also think this set provides a better mix of pots and pans than most. These pans cook evenly, heat up quickly, and clean up easily. ... Read more

These sturdy plastic plates work in place of the metal cutters of your food grinder to produce thin and thick spaghetti noodles, thin flat noodles, wider lasagna noodles, and macaroni. Turn the mixer speed to 10, drop walnut-size pieces of dough into the food tray, and catch the noodles as they're extruded through the plates. When you're through, put them in the dishwasher. 4-0 out of 5 stars Couldn't have been easier
I just made my first batch of spaghetti with this attachment and after having read the horror stories here and the warnings in the Kitchenaid guide that it might require several batches to get it right, I was stunned at how easy and painless it proved to be.

The spaghetti came out quite nice, albeit a little curled on the ends when it first came out. My biggest dread was dealing with the fresh product sticking together, but it came out essentially dry to the touch and didnt stick at all. In fact, I didnt even bother laying it out in a single row, just separated it a little before dropping into the pot. If I were to guess, I think the key to my painless experience was letting it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes wrapped tightly in plastic. I know there's alot of complex flour chemistry going on in that resting period.

Furthermore, if you are wondering, the fresh pasta was far tastier than the dry stuff. I can't wait to toss it with some fresh sauce next summer. Good luck!

4-0 out of 5 stars Satisfactory but not great
I just started using the pasta plastic dies with the food grinder attachment on my KitchenAid artisan. I must say that it is easy to extrude the pasta dough thru the plates contrary to what others here will have you believe. My first batch of fettucini came out okay but the noodles got stuck together. It was my fault for not resting the dough 15 minutes since I ran it thru the extruder right away after kneading. Cleanup is fairly easy. I have only tried the basic egg noodle/pasta recipe. I will experiment with samolina flour and see what happens with that dough.

This is definitely a lot easier than the manual pasta roller/cutter combination.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother
I bought this right after I got my Kitchen-Aid, and a week later went out and bought a manual pasta roller for $39.00. As others have said, the noodles stick together, and you don't get as good a consistency as you do by rolling them out. Go with a roller, not this.

1-0 out of 5 stars Unsatisified
All other kitchen aid products are marvelous but this one is not. Burned up my stand mixer. Have also heard this problem from others using this product. Will not use this item again. But WILL continue to purchase other Kitchen Aid products.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointment
Have been wanting to get the pasta roller attachment and ran accross this plastic pasta maker at the store. Was really excited since it was in my price range. Took it home and tried to use it. My KitchenAid mixer starting smoking and so I let it rest for the hour. Upon removing the attachment I found oil and black rubber or grease was all over the inside of the attachment. (on the coil thing that pushes the dough through) Next time I wanted to use my mixer to beat egg whites it had no power. I sure hope this inexpensive attachment didn't ruin my wonderful mixer. Highly disappointed with KitchenAid on this attachment. ... Read more

With a thick stainless-steel blade beveled to a sharp edge, this sturdy wheel-type cutter rolls through pizza, fudge, lasagna, and other foods, dividing them into neat serving portions. This larger wheel cuts a bit quicker, but the smaller wheel is easier for small-handed cooks and children.) 5-0 out of 5 stars High-end tool
This cutter is about as good as it gets in the consumer market. I've used professional pizza cutters before, and the KitchenAid version is every bit as sturdy and twice as refined. It has two blade supports (most only have one) and a soft gasket on each side of the blade to minimize wobbling under pressure. The ability to tighten the wheel support is nice, because other cutters I have used loosened over time. The plastic blade guard is a nice touch because it keeps your other utensils from being scratched during storage. The handle design goes beyond the call of duty.

5-0 out of 5 stars The last cutter you'll ever buy...
Fantastic, sturdy & The Hummer of Pizza cutters. After wasting gobs of money on junk Pizza wheel cutters for years, I broke down & bought this gem over a year ago. It is as sharp & perfect as the day I bought it after dozens & dozens of pizza cuts. Totally dishwasher safe, sharp & cuts perfectly every time, unlike our last OXO. Don't hesitate; this is the only one to buy; just like their PERFECT can opener & nearly everything else that Kitchenaid makes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect
This thing is great. Wonderful heft to it (shipping weight: 1 pound), and cuts like a dream.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best pizza cutter
How many pizza cutters have you bought? Likely more than you wanted to, because they just did not last. They were dull, tranished etc. This is perfect, stay sharp cutters, dishwasher safe and will last and last. I like the finger guard. Nice safety touch. For serious pizza families this is a must!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Nothing Better Than KitchenAid!!
KitchenAid is simply the best appliance/kitchen tool maker, bar none. I've cut pizza with other wheels, knives, all sorts of things. Nothing comes close to the cut you get from the KitchenAid pizza wheel! The wheel is nice and big, which keeps your hand farther from hot pizza and steam. It's also super sharp, so it cuts perfectly!! Also, it comes with a nice plastic cover so that when you store it in a drawer, you won't go cutting yourself when you dig around for it! Ingenious! :D I highly recommend! ... Read more

For use with all KitchenAid household stand mixers, these parts add a strainer function to the KitchenAid food grinder accessory (which is not included). Cooks who have the food grinder will find the strainer to be a valuable addition. Like the grinder, the strainer turns many tough kitchen chores into walks in the park. It converts cooked apples and pears into sauces for preserving or immediate consumption. Freezer jams are a snap; so is fresh tomato sauce. Baby foods can be made in quantity and frozen. 2-0 out of 5 stars Handy, but replacement screen is EXPENSIVE
I bought one of these several years ago and have used it quite a bit. It is very handy for straining, if a bit slow and messy. The big gripe I have with the product is -- one of the first times I used it (straining blackberries) the seam down the side of the strainer cone split. I continued to use it for a couple of years, but it finally split completely and became unusable. I called about a replacement and the customer service representative told me that they do not reccommend straining blackberries in it, for just that reason. I looked in my manual. I couldn't find a warning to that effect, although in all fairness the straining instructions contain a list of fruit and blackberries are not listed. At any rate I think it is really sorry that this fruit strainer self destructs over blackberries. The real clincher to my poor review is that the strainer cone, just that one dinky peice, costs $$$$$ to replace. I was in too much shock to even ask about shipping costs....

4-0 out of 5 stars A Food Canners' Best Friend
Makes much easier work of processing tomatoes (home grown or farmer's market) for tomato sauce, and I am looking forward to processing fall apples for apple sauce for canning. I wish the instructions were more helpful. Tells you how to assemble and clean it, but no instructions and just a few recipes. I had to find out for myself that I need to put the tomato waste through three times to get the most juice and pulp. You have to experiment with it. We are going to try it with grapes this fall, for juice and wine.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have
The attachments that are available for KitchenAid mixers are worth their weight in gold. This is the most recent attachment I've purchased for my mixer. I can't tell you how much time was saved when making apple butter and apple relish for the holiday season. This time of year, saving time is a good thing when there doesn't seem to be enough time for everything on your LISTS!!! Happy Holidays!

4-0 out of 5 stars The wonder machine.
I have had my kitchen aide for about 25 years. My husband has rebuilt it twice. Yes, you can get parts. We had a farm and I used it for straining tomatoes, blackberries, pumpkin and various other produce. It was a great tool for all. It gets stuck once in a while, but just wash it off and get going again.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best KitchenAid attachments!
I bought this attachment to go along with the food grinder attachment (sold separately.) Wow - I can't believe how quickly I can make fresh applesauce. I simmer quartered apples - seeds, cores, peels, and all - until tender, then send them through the strainer. In minutes, I have fresh, hot applesauce. The refuse is expelled through the end and into another bowl, so you never have to worry about all that peeling and coring.

Tomato sauce? Just as easy. Fresh quartered tomatoes go in one end; the juice/pulp and the seeds come out separately. After that, it's only a matter of cooking the sauce down.

The strainer is a great addition to my kitchen. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars I sold them at my garage sale.
Unfortunately, if you have an older gas oven like we do, the temperature of your oven may actually be higher than the temperature at which you set it on the dial. This led to problems determining a safe temperature in which to use the trays. We were all hesitant to eat the muffins I'd made because of the chemical/plastic smell. I'm back to using foil muffin cups on a cookie sheet.

5-0 out of 5 stars Muffins comes right out
I used metal muffin pans before, the muffins will never come out without the help of a knife, even the pan was sprayed.
On the other side, I am very satisfied with the Kitchenaid product, becuase beautiful muffins come right out, when turn the pan unside down (need to apply cooking spray before baking).
Yes, it did have some plastic smell during baking for the first couple times. After that, no smell at all.

I chose not to pay $5 extra for the rack, still it works well with a cookie tray.

The only negative comment is the unerasble marks left by grease(oil/cooking spray) on the surface. I am not complaining about it, as it states clearly in the instructions, and it does not affect baking.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this product, and I will buy more for my new kitchen.

4-0 out of 5 stars No Problem
When I saw some of the low reviews given here, I nearly decided not to buy this. However, two of my friends did buy these and recommended them to me. I was hoping the silicone muffin pans would be an improvement over the metal pans, which have been difficult to clean, difficult to remove the muffins, and after a short time flake so that my muffins have little metal flecks on them.

I bought a pan today, and my 13-year-old daughter used the pan right away. We noticed only a slight odor from the pan while the muffins were cooking. The muffins came out cleanly with only a slight push from the bottom of the pan. The muffins were cooked evenly and cleaning the pan was a breeze. I plan to buy more pans.

The only reason I am giving this four stars instead of five is because it is necessary to use a cookie sheet or a "sled" under the pan.

1-0 out of 5 stars What a rip-off, don't buy any Kitchenaid Silicone Bakeware!!
My muffin pan just arrived today. It being lunchtime and havingsome spare time, I decided to whip up a batch of banana nut muffins. I filled the cups, put it on a cookie sheet (for stability) and popped it in the oven @ 400 degrees for 18 minutes. They looked great when I took them from the oven. Then every one of them were destroyed as I tried to take them out of the pan. I twisted and turned and not one popped out. I finally had to take a butter knife and literally scrape them out. Not one came out whole. I was p_____ed! So I called the Kitchenaid Customer Satisfaction Center to ask what I did wrong and was told that I should have sprayed the pan with PAM or equivelant non-stick spray. To this I replied that it doesn't say that on the package instructions. The young lady with whom I was speaking told me that I must have an older package, that all new packaging for all of their silicone bakeware instructs you to spray it with a non-stick coating. H___, I can do that with my metal pans. What do I need her 6 times more expensive product for? She couldn't answer that question and advised me to return the product to where ever I purchased it for a refund. So you be the judge on what these products will do for you and at what cost. I did and Iwon't buy Kitchenaid Silicone bakeware anymore!

5-0 out of 5 stars Sassy red muffin pan
This muffin pan is dreamy. Muffins always turn out perfect, and cleanup is a breeze. I haven't noticed the burning plastic smell that other reviewers mentioned. If used properly, the pan works well. I want to get another one because I usually bake a lot of muffins at once. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Shorter days and cooler weather are a sure sign that it’s time to cook heavier, more satisfying foods. However, satisfying does not necessarily mean unhealthy when it comes to making a meaty roast. Measuring 12 by 15 inches and with a capacity of up to 25 pounds, this durable rectangular roaster can handle everything from a Sunday dinner boneless pork loin to a gigantic Thanksgiving turkey with all the trimmings. The included rack holds meats above the pan so fat and oil drip away and a leaner, healthier roast remains.

Made of heavy-gauge carbon steel with sturdy rolled edges, this roasting pan is well-balanced for lugging heavier roasts. In addition, the steel construction offers the perfect heat distribution required for roasting or baking and won’t warp under high oven temperatures. Anodized cast aluminum handles at either end provide a slip-free grip and are bolted on in an upright position, which feels more natural for lifting and carrying. The floating steel rack securely rests on the handle’s interior bolts and won’t shift during movement or scratch the bottom of the pan. Both the roaster and the rack have a high-performance nonstick coating that is resistant to even the toughest grease and oil residue. Conveniently, the nonstick coating is safe for cooking under the broiler, cooking with metal utensils, and cleaning in the dishwasher without concern of weakening its release properties. In addition to meats, the roaster can be used without the rack to roast potatoes or even bake a large, deep-dish lasagne. KitchenAid offers a one-year hassle-free replacement warranty on this roaster set. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy kitchen helper
I bought this for all sorts of uses in the kitchen and am very happy with the quality of the product. Kitchenaid consistently produces quality products. I use it when making bread to scrape it off the board to prevent sticking, for dividing the dough for rolls and loaves. Overall I'm very pleased with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars not enough of a great thing
For decades, the makers of pastry scrapers obeyed an unspoken code: never make a handle that is actually graspable. I guess if they did that, and made a durable product to boot, they would never sell another one.

I imagine the designers at Kitchenaid won't be invited to any of those people's parties for unceremoniously breaking this vow and adding a handle that is actually very comfortable and allows an unprecedented amount of control and endurance in scraping, cutting, and most importantly for me, cutting butter into flour with this beautifully designed implement.

The only thing they could have done better? Give me more. This scraper is only 5 inches wide...less than the industry standard of six. Well, give me a big honkin NINE inches already! You've got that great handle, you could easily hoist a big blade on it.

And that's the only improvement I could suggest to this best-available scraper.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great tool!
This KitchenAid scraper is great! Besides the fact that it does what it is made to do so well (cuts and scrapes dough like nothing!), it also has a useful ruler and makes it easy to lift and move what you chop. Super easy to clean, highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars The name says it all
It scrapes!!

As an added bonus, it measures things shorter than 4 inches, too.

5-0 out of 5 stars You'll not want to Scrap this Scraper
Brilliant, that's the only word you can use to describe this flawless scraper from KitchenAid. It's so good I even use it for getting ice off my car windscreen in the morning. You can even use it for dicing carrots, or garlic, or onions! It works well with cheese as well, although it struggles with ripe Brie. Apart from that, it's a top quality product at a fantastic price. Buy! Buy! Buy! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

One look at this rubbery bakeware and those uninformed about silicone will laugh at the possibility that it’s actually safe to bake in it. But safe it is and KitchenAid is just one of many bakeware manufacturers that is producing pans in this revolutionary material. Made of FDA-approved food-grade silicone, this 9-by-5-inch rectangular loaf pan bakes a scrumptiously sweet banana bread or a soft loaf of homemade white bread just as evenly as your metal pans and at temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, this silicone pan has the benefit of being safe for the refrigerator, freezer, and microwave and can withstand sudden temperature changes from one extreme to another without buckling. The nonstick surface releases bread easily and is safe for use with metal utensils aside from knives or serrated blades. Oversized rims make the pan easy to lift and transfer to and from from the oven. The only noticeable difference with silicone is that the pans feel a little wobbly as you carry them from tabletop to oven filled with dough and vice versa. Placing this loaf pan on a baking sheet will offer better stability for transferring baked goods and provide a level cooking surface in the oven. For easy cleanup, this pan is dishwasher-safe and will retain its nonstick cooking surface through hundreds of dishwasher cycles. KitchenAid provides a one-year hassle-free replacement warranty plus a lifetime limited warranty on this pan. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

A wonderful product. Everything cooks very evenly. No sticking. So easy to wash and store also.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kitchenaid Silicone Bakeware
I did not have any problem with this silicone bakeware. It was wonderful. I followed the directions, sprayed lightly, baked, everything was absolutely perfect, and came out of the silicone bakeware like a dream (they advise that you let the food cool completely before trying to remove). Everything I cooked in each of my Kitchenaid silicone wares was fantastic and there was no silicone/plastic smell. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a convenience!
What a convenience to have an additional mixing bowl. When I make baked goods, invariably I need to use more than one bowl for a recipe. It sure speeds up the process by having another bowl on hand whenever you need one. The quality of this product is unparalleled. KitchenAid makes the best mixers on the market that are built to last for years. Our mixer is the favorite kitchen appliance my wife and I own! If you don't have a KitchenAid mixer, get one and an additional bowl too! You won't be disappointed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Extra Bowl for your Stand Mixer - Great Idea
I own an extra bowl for my 5-Quart KitchenAid Stand Mixer and it's great. When you are busy preparing a large family / Holiday meal it can be a life saver.

5-0 out of 5 stars K5ASBP Bowl
As I do a lot of baking during the Christmas season, my KitchenAid 5 quart mixer really cuts the time and energy it takes to make a lot of cookies, and other such Christmas treats. The only thing that would be better, I thought, was an extra bowl, so I could expidite the process. My husband bought me this bowl as an early Christmas present, and I love it!!! I got through the Christmas season of baking in no time at all. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves to bake, and does a lot of it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great add-on, but not for "all Professional Stand Mixers"
I purchased this bowl as an add on gift for my wife's new 6 quart professional stand mixer. It is a great mixer and this is a quality bowl, but the title and description of the product do not match the actual product.

The while the Amazon description claims it is a "Bowl for Professional Stand Mixer" and the feature list of product states "Additional bowl for KitchenAid Professional stand mixer expands the mixer's flexibility" and "Works with any KitchenAid Professional stand mixer; one-year warranty" it does not fit the top of the line "KitchenAid KP2671XWH Professional 6-Quart Stand Mixer".

The package that arrives clearly states it is for all 5-quart home stand mixers and not the professional model. By the way, I only gave it 4 stars because I can't actually use it to see if it is as durable as it looks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Be careful - not for Artisan mixers!
While the product description states that this bowl is for all 5-quart mixers, this is no longer the case. This bowl is only for the 5-quart mixers with a bowl-lift lever. If you own one of the new Artisan mixers with a tilt-head, you will need a different bowl. KitchenAid makes this bowl, but Amazon doesn't carry it yet.

This is a 5-star product, but make sure it is the correct model for your mixer. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Way Too Large
Buyer beware. I'm a Kitchenaid fan but these tools, while sturdy and elegant, are much too large for normal kitchen pots and pans. The slotted turner dwarfs a 6 or 8 inch frying pan. Likewise the slotted spoon is unusable in less than a four quart saucepan. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not What I was expecting
It works fine except that the juices from the tomatoes leak out. Good for dry things but not for juicy items.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must-have for big jobs
This tray makes big jobs easier. You can get by with the smaller one that comes with the grinder, but if you're gonna be making large quantities, save yourself some stress and buy this tray, it helps a lot.

5-0 out of 5 stars No photo description:
Since there isn't a photo of this food tray, I'll first describe it to you. It's made from the same white plastic that the rest of the kitchenaid attachements are made from. It's about 10 inches long, The same width as the food grinder tray. The lip is about an inch deep. It slides over the top of the food grinder tray providing a pretty good fit. It's not a water tight fit however.

The tray is nice when you are laddling in things to be ground up. It helps keep the items from falling into the bowl of already ground up stuff. If you are into large batches of apple sauce or meat, its worth getting.

If you are grinding a soup up it keeps the splatter out but the seal with the food grinder is not water tight, so you can't really overload it.

I like it, its well made, if you are a careful cook you can live without it. If you are looking for a gift for a cook who has it all, it would be a good present. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars TIME SAVER
This item is absolutely wonderful and no kitchen should be without it. For delicate meringues, this appliance takes all the work out of an otherwise laborious task.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wire Wisk Attachment
The wire whisk is a perfect example of how kitchen aid should make all their attachments. It is made of stainless steel and works perfectly for making the fluffiest meringue. It does not have that nasty white paint coating like other attahments, therefore it does not chip off into your food. This is a must have attachment to your kitchen aid!

5-0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal Whipped Cream & Meringue
Whether you want to make chocolate mousse, or whipped cream for cakes, cream puffs or to top a pie, the Wire Whip attachment for the KitchenAid Stand Mixer gets the highest marks.
