Amazon.com Review

Pound for pound, a good hand mixer is perhaps the most laborsaving kitchen device. While my grandmother relied on arm strength and force of will to beat a stiff dough or to mash potatoes, a light and easily maneuvered hand mixer saves time and muscles. This one from KitchenAid features seven-speed digital touch control for precision mixing, and an electronic sensor that will adjust the power as you go, so you maintain a steady mixing speed. But if you're beating a delicate batter, you can use the Soft Start feature and ease into faster speed. When you're finished, the beaters are easily ejected. If you've ever battled heavy doughs, you'll appreciate the beaters' design: they don't have a center post, so dough won't collect in the middle of the beater and clog the machine. It's also designed for easy cleaning. --Laura Cuthbert ... Read more

Features

  • One-year warranty; 200-watt motor

  • Thin, torqued blades and no center post in the beaters reduce clogging and provide easier cleanup

  • Electronic sensor adjusts power, maintaining a steady mixing speed

5-0 out of 5 stars Another wonderful little powerhouse from KitchenAid
You know there are times when you just don't want to haul out the big mixer, right? Well, being the holiday hostess for my large extended family, my Irish brothers love their mashed potatoes. When I have a holiday dinner and my countertops are loaded with lots of other wonderful holiday dinner foods waiting to be served, hauling out the big mixer is just not an option. Out comes this handy little KitchenAid hand mixer! In a jiffy, this little powerhouse mashes the potatoes and then away it goes so dinner can proceed as needed. It's a really cool tool and I'm glad to have it at times like that. Also, I have pulled it out to mix pancake batter, sometimes cake batter, and other easy to mix items. It's easy to wipe down and the beaters pop right off to go into your dishwasher. Easy clean, easy to use, easy storage -- what more could you want?

2-0 out of 5 stars Not enough power...
This Kitchenaid mixer looks great, works flawlessly, but really underperforms. It's a seven-speed model, but I had to switch to another standup mixer to whip cream because the Kitchenaid hand mixer just wasn't fast or powerful enough. A real disappointment...

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Hand Mixer!
This KitchenAid hand mixer is a must! It is perfect, I use it all the time to mix cake batter, cookie dough (with the dough beaters), eggs, brownie mix and pancake mix. It always gets the job done quickly and easily. The digital LED allows you to easily see the speed you are mixing at and to increase or decrease the speed all you do is touch the up or down button. It has an on off switch in addition to the stop/start buttons to prevent any accidents. I love my 5 quart KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer but I have to admit I use this hand mixer 10 times more often! It is very easy to clean and worth every penny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Awesome
I was able to purchase this at another retailer for a steal as it was on clearance. This item is so awesome! Im not sure why someone gave it one star...you can take it back if you only used it 5 times and its covered under warranty, OR if not they could have called KitchenAid and they would have been able to help to get it replaced. Alas, it was problably just abuse. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Another short-lived product
This little wonder lasted about six uses before the motor died. Whipping cream, mixing a light batter--that was all that was ever asked of it. In the middle of a simple recipe, after runing no more than five minutes, with intervals between each minute of mixing, it failed: no power light, no response to control pad, no nothing (and yes, the power switch was turned on). This is not my first Kitchen Aid mixer, but it will certainly be my last. ... Read more

Equipped with 5-cup and 2-cup work bowls, this compact foodprocessor is ideal for small households or for small jobs when a largeunit isn't necessary. Each bowl has its own blade, and the smaller bowlis perfect for mincing herbs, chopping onions and tomatoes, and makingbread crumbs. Also included is a reversible, stainless-steel disk withone side for shredding such foods as cheese and potatoes and the otherfor slicing carrots and cabbage. At 450 watts the unit is amply poweredfor the size of the work bowls. A large, uncomplicated feed tubesimplifies adding ingredients. Cleanup is simple, too, requiringnothing more than a quick wipe of the power base and its touchpadcontrols, and all other parts are dishwasher-safe.

The processor measures just 6-3/8 inches wide, 13-3/4 inches high, and7-1/2 inches deep and weighs 10 pounds so it won't skitter on thecounter during operation. KitchenAid says the first year of theprocessor's lifetime warranty against defects is "hassle-free," with areplacement shipped at no cost and without question if a defect isdetected. --Fred Brack ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Wash by hand!!
I see some people complaining about the paint chipping on this beater. I have had mine for almost 7 years with no problems, but I was told by a professional pastry chef to never put the beater in the dishwasher, or even let it soak for a long period of time. I haven't and it's been fine. I am finally getting around to getting a second beater to go with my second bowl.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Third Beater
When this beater was offered in my gold box shortly before Christmas I snapped it up. This is the third beater I own for my beloved Kitchen Aid stand mixer. When you do as much baking as I during the holidays it's lovely to not have to wash up between each batch of cookie dough. One is never enough.

5-0 out of 5 stars 5 star duty, 3 star replacement need
I have had my Kitchen aid for about 12 years, I love it! THe problem, as stated before, is the fact that the "metal" turns "bubbly" under the paint and the paint then starts to crack. This is not a favorable aging process. It does take several years to "turn", but when it does make you feel a little cheated, the price you pay for these machines shouldn't warrant this low-end occurance. While the beater lives it is SUPER! I make bread a lot in combo with the dough hook and it works great! Cookies, cakes , anything from scratch, you KNOW you'll be able to mix! Even something heavy or with nuts.. no problem! Kitchen-aid.. if you are reading this... Why ?! Why does this happen! The dough hook is still in prefect condition. I have other attachments and they are all heavy duty and GREAT!

1-0 out of 5 stars Peeling and Chipping Paddle
I bake a LOT of cookies. I love my mixer but and concerned and disappointed in this piece of equipment. It peels and chips constantly and those pieces of plastic paint mysteriously disappear into ??????? How can they sell this type of faulty equipment?

3-0 out of 5 stars Paddle Attachment
I love my kitchen aid mixer! I use it all the time, expecially at Christmas time. However, the paddle attachment and other white coated attachments peel and chip. Who knows where it ends up? Probably in those cookies I'm feeding my family. Although I love my kitchen aid, the attachments need to frequently be replaced, therefore I rate this a 3. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars useful, but sometimes invonvenient
The pouring shield is a definite convenience on my mixer, making it easy to add both wet and dry ingredients without stopping the mixing process and raising the beater, whisk, or dough hook. It removes extremely easily from the bowl once you figure the trick of getting it on an off, and it cleans quickly with a swipe of hot, soapy water or a run through the dishwasher, much like all Kitchen Aid mixer attachments.

I'm a little torn on the rating. I'd like to give it four stars, but I've only given the shield three stars because of a few inconveniences listed below. I'm happy it came free of charge with my mixer and I would probably buy another if mine ever became damaged. For someone without the pouring shield, I would certainly recommend they consider buying it, but with the following things kept in mind...

I've found that when making anything, be it bread or cookies or whathaveyou, you really should consider adding absolutely no more than 1/2 cup (dry US measure) of ingredients at a time to the bowl. Best if you add less to the bowl a few more times. Every time I've made bread, if I try adding 1/2 cup flour or more during the last mixing stage, even the low speed of 2 results in ingredients splattered up onto and under the pouring shield.

In addition, the convenient separability of the pouring shield can fast become an inconvenience if you're not careful. If anything splashes, I've found that it splashes right into the little hinges that make the pouring shield separateable from itself. Once your ingredients are in the hinges, they're down the side of the bowl, onto your countertop, and probably onto you.

3-0 out of 5 stars Never got to use it
I can't actually say how well this product works, because I didn't get to use it. The information above states that it fits all 4 1/2 and 5 quart KitchenAid stand mixers, but in fact it does not, and this is Amazon's mistake, not KitchenAid's When I recieved it, I found that it is much too small for my KV25GOX model mixer. When I looked at the box to see if I had made a mistake, I found that it clearly states that this accessory fits all 4 1/2 and 5 quart stand mixers *except* model KV. So if you're still interested in this product, make sure it's compatible before you spend your money.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for letting my daughter help
The fit isn't perfect, and things can still get out on occaision. The biggest benefit for me is the chute. I can measure each ingredient and dump it into a 1C cup and let my little girl pour each ingredient into the chute. I'd rather not hand her a teaspoon full of some spice and have it go all over the counter, but with an oversized thing to pour from and the chute to pour into even her 2 1/2 year old motor skills can get a real feeling of being helpful.

1-0 out of 5 stars don't waste your money
Don't waste your money. The pour shield is engineered with openings along the edge which allow the flour or liquids to still gush all over. (I got one for my 4 1/2 qt. Kitchen Aid stand mixer)

2-0 out of 5 stars Good Idea, but not worth the trouble
I found this up on the shelf over the refrigerator yesterday, took me a while to remember what it was. It was up there with the 50 pounds of paprika I couldn't live without. I love my KA mixer, I think maybe I used this thing twice. It does work if you remember to drag out the step stool and deal with all the dross on top of the fridge, but I really think it's not worth the effort. I never had any trouble using it, but if you are like me, the counter gets flour on it anyway when you do the final kneading, so what's the problem. It's just one more thing to wash. Other than dry ingrediants, I can't think of what else you would use it for. It's cute, I'm trying to teach the cats to jump through it until I put it back up in the cupboard...that means I'd have to clear off the step stool again and climb up...maybe it belongs down cellar, that's easier. Not an essential item in my kitchen. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for the right person
For a person with good or even fair knife skills this is really just one more tool to wash but for the right person this is a very helpful tool.

I bought this for someone with limited use of one of her hands. Chopping was a hard thing, even using a knife was difficult. This is very helpful to her. I can see this also being good for getting when your kids help you in the kitchen.

Dry things like nuts or hard drier vegetables (broccoli, celery, etc) chop faster and more evenly because they dont *stick* to the blades. things with a higher water content (like onions and mushrooms) tend not to drop back down as well, but may stick a bit on to the blade...so you may end up with some large chunks and some teeny bits. Overall this isnt a huge problem and for the person who really benefits from this, this is really not much of an issue at all.

If your not going to wash this right away, at least rinse the little bits off of it so they don't dry on the unit or it will be very hard to clean (personal experience).

This is a great thing for the person who could benefit the most from it

5-0 out of 5 stars Quick and Easy
I really love the color. I bought a red one to match my red kitchenaid kitchen and my mom bought the blue one. We both love it. It chops things up fast without having to plug it in. The only bad thing is the cleaning. Its best to clean it right after you use it. Otherwise, the food gets stuck and it is a little harder to clean in the grooves.

5-0 out of 5 stars Multi Food Chopper
It's going to be great because it's KitchenAid.....
I'm just not happy because it's blue. From the picture I ordered it from, and the fact you didn't get to choose the color I assumed it was going to be BLACK!! So much for assumeing. We all know what that does to you!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME PRODUCTS!
I HAVE THIS FOUR PIECE SET ALONG WITH THE FIVE PIECE SET, AND I LOVE THEM BOTH, GREAT QUALITY, VERY DURABLE. THEY BE A LITTLE BIG, BUT I DON'T FIND THAT A PROBLEM. I'VE FOUND CHEAPER PRODUCTS IN THE PAST THAT HAVE MELTED AT THE ENDS THAT WERE USED IN PANS, BUT NOT THESE. ALL THESE ITEMS ARE GREAT FOR USING BIGGER PORTIONS, BECAUSE THEY ARE BIGGER. GOOD GADGETS FOR ANYONE.

5-0 out of 5 stars quality at a great price
These utensils are wonderful quality, heavy duty, large enough to use not just for cooking but also for serving. Mine have washed well in the dishwasher and still look good after much use. I see some complaints about the size. I am just under 5'8'' and not very big, and I like the size of these products. I don't think it is a reflection on the quality of the product, just personal preference.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice set, but too big
We received this as a wedding gift, and I was so excited because red is the color of our kitchen. However...when I opened the box and took the utensils out, I didn't realize how big they were. I'm a petite person with small hands. The grips are slippery and the utensil itself is so awkward to cook with unless you're my husband's size (6 foot and up). They remind me of knick-knacks: Pretty to look at, but not useful in any way.

3-0 out of 5 stars They do look nice
The KitchenAid Utensil Set does look nice. The red color, and the sale price of $14.99 was the selling points for me. But once I got them home and used them that night to make supper, I found myself spending more time picking them off the floor and washing them, than I did actually using them. The handles are very heavy, and much bigger than what I am use to. If you don't have enough room to place them up to the siver ring, they land on the floor. Also I found the actualy utensil part, to be too big.

2-0 out of 5 stars poorly balanced
These tools, although fun looking, are poorly balanced and fall over if they don't have enough room to rest on the counter. The handles are a little awkward in size and the bowls of the spoons slightly too deep. I like their look, but I don't like the design of them. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

One look at this rubbery bakeware and those uninformed about silicone will laugh at the possibility that it’s actually safe to bake in it. But safe it is and KitchenAid is just one of many bakeware manufacturers that is producing pans in this revolutionary material. Made of FDA-approved food-grade silicone, this muffin pan bakes 12 sweet potato-nut muffins just as evenly as your metal pans and at temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, this silicone pan has the benefit of being safe for the refrigerator, freezer, and microwave and can withstand sudden temperature changes from one extreme to another without buckling. The nonstick surface releases muffins easily and is safe for use with metal utensils aside from knives or serrated blades. This muffin pan rests in a nonstick metal wire sled with handles, which offers good stability for transferring baked goods in and out of the oven. For easy cleanup, this pan is dishwasher-safe and will retain its nonstick cooking surface through hundreds of dishwasher cycles. The metal sled should be washed by hand. KitchenAid provides a one-year hassle-free replacement warranty plus a lifetime limited warranty on this pan. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Glue is annoying, but the board is fine.
The non-slip cutting board gets the job done; it really doesn't slip, at least not on our granite countertop. To take the glue off the cutting board, soak the glue spots in vegetable oil a few times. It does come off eventually.

4-0 out of 5 stars My favorite cutting board
Of all the cutting boards I have, this one is the one I reach for most often. It's easy to clean, an excellent cutting surface that I am confident using my expensive knives on, doesn't slip, and is easy to lift and carry when I'm done cutting and ready to cook. The 11x14 size is good - not so big as to be bulky, but big enough not to be cramped when working with one or two ingredients. If I can find the next larger size in stock, I will also be picking up one of those as well, but avoid the 8x11 board. It is simply too small to use comfortably.

My only complaint is that which other reviewers have mentioned. The glue they use to affix the label to the board (not sure why it has to be glued on when the entire thing is shrinkwrapped) is nearly impossible to get off completely.A good scrubbing and a trip through the dishwasher and you'll be safe from glue in your food, but you're likely to have a cosmetic reminder of the glue for the life of the board (my glue residue turned green from the sponge I was using to scrub).

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Cutting Board
The board is quite serviceable, attractive and easy to handle. The cutting surface is actually about 11x11.The blue ends, which prevent the board from slipping while in use, feel like they are hard rubber and do their job very well. Thanks to other reviewers, I did not waste time trying to soak off the decals.I simply, but carefully, used a razor blade type scraper which is normally used to remove similar decals and paint spots from windows and window shields.Worked nicely.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love It!
Fantastic cutting board.Stable, doesn't slide around on the counter and if using for meat just throw in the dishwasher when you are done.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this cutting board
As the other posters have said, they're not kidding about that glue.Don't buy this board. It looks very nice, but after scrubbing with sponges, soaking in hot water overnight, putting it through the dishwasher a couple times, etc, I cannot remove 4 sticky wads of glue (two on each side).DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF BUYING THIS THING. ... Amazon.com Review

Professional-level KitchenAid II bakeware produces delicious sweets, making dessert the best part of the meal. This five-piece set stocks a new kitchen with some of the most essential bakeware equipment. The set features a 17-inch jelly-roll pan for making flat cakes for rolling or baking cookies; a 9-by13-inch pan for baking sheet cakes; a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan for breads or casseroles; and two 9-inch round cake pans for making birthday cake layers. Made of heavy-duty .6-millimeter carbon steel, the pans offer excellent heat distribution and are resistant to warping under high temperatures. The nonstick coating lets you forego using additional butter to grease the pans as it releases cakes and cookies with ease. The durable nonstick surface also holds up to both metal utensils and repeated cleanings in the dishwasher. This bakeware has rolled edges for added strength and oversized rims for safe and easy handling under intense heat. Made of nylon reinforced with glass fibers for strength anddurability, the five large kitchen tools in this set are safe for allnonstick cookware and heat-resistant to 450 degrees F so they won't beharmed by high heat on the stovetop. The set comprises a slotted spoon;a slotted turner with a 4-inch-wide head and beveled edges for slidingunder food in any direction; a fork with a cupped head so it can beused to scoop up food as well as impale it; a pasta server; and a 6- ounce ladle holding with a pouring spout on the left side (perfect forrighthanders but awkward for lefthanders). All the tools measure 14-3/4inches long (except the 14-1/4-inch ladle), have curved handles forergonomic ease, provide big hanging holes on the handles' butt ends, gosafely into a dishwasher, and sport snappy chrome KitchenAid logomedallions. 3-0 out of 5 stars Make sure you read the description -- these are HUGE
I should have read more carefully the description and the very accurate review already posted. While these are very sturdy tools, they are HUGE. I've never seen kitchen utensils like these, regardless of the level of quality. The handles on each item are long, thick, and don't seem to serve much function. I'm not quite sure what the purpose is of having everything be so large, beyond having a large end on the ladel so more liquid can be scooped up at one time. If you have a large kitchen drawer or other storage advice, then these are okay if you believe you need oversized utensils for cooking. Otherwise I would suggest looking for something else.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very large tools
These KitchenAid 5-piece Nylon tools are very large. The handles are long, and the ends on all utensils are excessively curved and accentuated. They are quite sturdy, but I'd only recommend this set for persons looking for deep stockpot cooking utensils as an addition to their existing tools. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
So glad I bought this turner! It's very flexible and I can get under and flip my omelette/pancake beautifully. I love how I can now scrape the pan clean (as hard as I want) without leaving any scratches. It's very easy to clean too.

5-0 out of 5 stars A real finger saver!
Before I bought this spatulah, I used to flip burgers over with my hands. As you can imagine...I burned my fingers a lot AND messed up my food. With this spatula, I can flip my burgers and pancakes over without burning my hands or messing up my food. It's plastic too, so it washes real easy.I just don't know how I ever grilled anything without this handy gadget. It's not very good for stiring though.I might need to buy a big spoon.

4-0 out of 5 stars nice
Nice but because it is soft it is hard to use it to get things out of pans.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well Designed & Practical
I really like this turner -- I get a lot of nice leverage and I appreciate the larger surface area to get under the food. The "neck" is a little softer than some, but that really helps get under the food without breaking it up, which is something that happens frequently with stiffer types. It also has a nice hefty handle, so you have more control because you really have something to grip.

And of course, the virtually indestructible silicone surface is a dream to use and clean up -- nothing sticks to it, and the edges don't get "chewed" like nylon utensils (just remember: if your nylon utensils look chewed around the edges, you're EATING that stuff!).

My husband and I love these so much, we have them in black and in red, AND we gave some in almond to my father-in-law for Christmas!I'll be interested to see how he likes them...
