Pepper grinding is all it's good for...
If you have any aspirations to enjoying properly made espresso coffee in the home, then I'm afraid this little critter is a total waste of thirty bucks. There's nothing wrong with the brand or construction - it's the very notion of a blade grinder that's no good - you just CAN NOT get good consistency, evenly ground coffee this way.

Without evenly ground coffee you could have the greatest coffee machine in the world and it would still produce slop of the type found in roadside diners - you know, the sort which comes with a sachet of chalk powder in lieu of milk.

N.B. - if you use a plunger or a filter, then this comment doesn't apply. With a plunger or a filter, EVERYTHING tastes like slop, no matter how you grind it. There is only one way to make coffee, and that's with an espresso machine.

Coffee perfectionists should therefore look to a burr grinder, and preferably a fairly good quality one. These ain't cheap, but if you care about your morning hit, it's a sacrifice worth making.

Still, this little guy gets an extra star because you can use it as an inexpensive air freshner. Whizz up some coffee beans, open the lid, leave to stand and before long your kitchen will have the aroma of a Neapolitan sidewalk cafe...

$30 For A Coffee Grinder! That's Too Much!
You can get a nice coffee maker for $30! Just use a regular blender to grind your coffee beans OR find a cheaper coffee grinder. But anyway I don't grind my coffee anymore, I just buy it already ground. It's just a lot easier.

I hate this coffee grinder
I had the Krups fast touch grinder for 12 years and loved it. It only finally died because I cleaned it with water. I replaced it with this Krups grinder and it makes a huge mess. The stainless steel design seems to cause an excessive amount of static electricity so the coffee dust goes everywhere. I've put up with for about 6 months and today I am ordering the original fast touch which is still available in black and white.

Looks great, but....
As with all plastic grinders, static is a problem.

The plastic broke on my unit very quickly.

Any kind of blade mill grinder is going to result in uneven coffee grounds, and it will be impossible to get a fine grind. For $10 more you can get a cheap burr grinder, which gives better results (flavor!)

Lousy Engineering
The static electricity created by this machine assures that your coffee cannot be transferred to your brewer basket without major gyrations. The charged coffee particles will cling to your hands, your clothes, your kitchen wall. Required Accessory for a krups espresso machine
I've had a Krups espresso machine for several years, and I've ground up this little attachement several times in the garbage disposal. When I go to the store where I bought my machine, they usually claim to carry the item and go to the display to get one and there are none there and I'm told to "check back" later. On a few other occasions I've "checked back" and the store clerk has them under the counter and just hands me one as they know it's a tough item to find so they'll do me this little customer service to help me out. But then if they're tough to find....why don't they stock more? I suspect that they perpetuate the problem by handing out this tough to find item and just never buy more. I've never bought a replacement, I've just had them handed to me. This little thing is absolutley required to make decent frothed milk and after I stupidly grind it up by accident, I'm more than willing to buy a replacement. I've asked at every store that sells this model to help me get one or more replacements for future garbage disposal incidents but I'm always told to "check back". I just wanted a way to buy this thing on a regular basis, it's small, gets lost or "disposaled" so I just want to know where to go. Leave it to amazon to add this silly little item to their site and save me many frustrating trips to the department store. ... Read more

Krups Lasted Less Than 2 Years
We wanted a toaster that would last. We paid extra for the Krups Sensotoast Compact (two slice) but, it didn't last any longer than cheap ones.
We were not happy with performance either - I don't know that it ever toasted evenly (hmmm, ... maybe when it was brand new it did)

Krups toaster - This is why I am buying a new toaster
Bought this at full price (...) from a local store based on Krups name. It does not toast evenly (unless you toast in two stages and turn and flip over the bread). It's very slow. And, this is the best part - when toasting one slice, sometimes it can launch the toast out of the toaster - usually landing in the sink. My mom's 30 year old cheap-o Toastmaster works a lot better.

I think Krups should stick to coffee makers. After reading reviews I bought the toaster. For the price I could have gotten two cheaper toasters that would do a comparable job. It does not do a good job of toasting evenly and you burn your fingers getting the toast out because the finished product sits so low in the slots. Save your money.

Fine for only two pieces of taost at a time.
This toaster is fine for me as long as I don't need to toast more than two pieces of toast or one English muffin at time (and I need to limit my consumption of bread to a reasonable extent), which I don't now, generally, and which doesn't matter that much in any case because it doesn't take much longer to toast more than that, when I need to do so. I have a limited amount of space on which to put things in the kitchen, and this toaster does not take up an inordinate amount of space.

A fairly good toaster for the price
Intent on getting a good toaster, I decided to not go with the 'hand me downs' and garage sale toasters. Instead I decided to go with a new, brand name toaster. As nobody in their right mind wants to spend a ton of money on something of this nature, I went with this nice little toaster. After having it for a while I've noticed a few things I like and dislike about it.

First the good stuff. Everything I've put in it is toasted very evenly. The dial to set the darkness of the toast is quite responsive and moving it through the increments makes a noticable change unlike some of the others I've had that don't change unless you're at one extreme or another. Also, cleaning it is quite simple as it has (probably along with most new toasters) a door on the bottom to empty out all of your crumbs. Plus it looks good--something I usually don't notice or care about.

The only bad comment I have on it is the slots aren't as wide as I'd like. Some of the bagels I've bought have been too big and didn't want to fit in there. That was disappointing, but that doesn't happen very often.
