The La Crosse Technology WT-5720U projection alarm clock is ideal anytime absolute accuracy is paramount. The clock, which can project the time onto a wall or ceiling from 3 to 10 feet away, receives its signal from the atomic clock in Fort Collins, Colorado, ensuring that it will never be off by even a few seconds. The included alarm employs an adjustable snooze, in addition to running on either 12- or 24-hour time mode. The clock also displays the date (month, date, year, and day) and the indoor temperature in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The projection feature is a real plus, as it's versatile and flexible, with a rotating option for proper viewing and an adjustable intensity level. Use it at home for variety, or during a business meeting to keep everyone on task. When operating on the AC adapter, the clock can project time constantly. However, when using the battery, the clock projects the time for three seconds each time you press the button. --Rivers Janssen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great performance
I bought it first like 4 months ago. And I bought it again twice to send as a present. Great performance and good price. I highly recomend it. You don't have to turn on the lights to see what time is it...

1-0 out of 5 stars dissapointing
The projection was too small and not bright enough. The clock was a pain in the neck to set. I have many of these type clocks and this one was a dissapointment. I returned it.

1-0 out of 5 stars bad projection
I bought this one because I needed projection feature.
So when I got it, first I tested projection. but I couldn't see any number for time, so I waited till night time. And I find that it's is working with about few inches and the characterwas so small that I couldn't read it. So I returned it. ... Read more

This sporty digital wristwatch is durable enough for everyday wear or casual occasions. However, this watch’s claim to fame is its precision time-keeping and the perk that it never needs to be set. The watch has a built-in antenna system that receives signals from the WWVB radio transmitter in Fort Collins, Colorado, which is in turn is regulated by the atomic clock. Once you install the battery and the watch picks up the signal, you can set the watch to one of twenty-five time zones, including all US times zones and Greenwich Mean Time. The watch will automatically set to and display the accurate time in hours, minutes, and seconds and the correct day of the week and numeric month and day on its LCD. You can also choose to display the current time zone (for US time zones only) on its LCD. This low-maintenance watch will even automatically adjust for daylight savings time, so you never need to remember to move it backward or forward by an hour. This radio-controlled clock is covered by a 1-year warranty and runs on one 3V lithium battery (included) that has a lifetime of two or more years. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

With an advanced time-telling mechanism that manages itself, this La Crosse Technology metal watch keeps time with absolute accuracy. Equipped with an internal antenna, the watch reads a radio signal transmitted from WWVB in Fort Collins, Colorado. The station, in turn, receives its signal from the National Institute of Science and Technology's atomic clock, which is accurate to the 10 billionth of a second. Transmission is continual and automatic, so the watch readjusts itself, even allowing for shifts due to Daylight Savings. It also displays the day of the week, the date, and the month. Customizable settings allow you to set your time zone and choose between a 12- or 24-hour display. Water-resistant, the watch comes with a metallic blue butterfly clasp and stainless-steel band that can be adjusted to fit most wrists. The battery should last three years or more--a low-battery indicator signals when to change it. Please note: The watch receives the WWVB signal in time zones GMT-4 (Maine) through GMT -10 (Hawaii) only. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

Check the time or temperature from the comfort of your bed with this atomic projection alarm clock from La Crosse Technology. Accurate to one-tenth of one second per day, the clock automatically adjusts itself for time and date using radio signals from the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Colorado. It also reads the temperature indoors and at one included remote unit, which can be mounted up to 80 feet away. Designed to shine the time or the temperature onto a wall or ceiling up to 10 feet away, the clock's projection arm includes 180-degree rotation, automatic focus, and adjustable intensity. It illuminates for three seconds on battery power and can be turned on constantly with the included AC adaptor. The clock also comes with a lot of nice extras, including a dual alarm with snooze, a push-button EL backlight, 12- or 24-hour time mode, and temperature readings in F or C. The forecast function reads air pressure changes to make simple weather predictions and is about 75% accurate for 12-20 hours. Sleek and straightforward in design, the clock measures 5-1/4 by 1-1/4 by 3-1/2 inches and includes a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Misleading...
1. weather forecast picture is misleading. sunny and rainy picture doesn't represent actual forecast. manual says. "rainy cloud" just mean "it could get worse". whatever that means...

2. Outside Temperature is off by 5 degree. display shows one tenth of degree yet it doesn't serve any purpose.

3. Manual recommand not to press any button for 10 minutes after put in the battery. well... clock doesn't synch unless the time region is defined first. If you live in east coast, like me, you would automatically think it's set to the region by default. You still and MUST press "Set" button 10-20 times (set initial time clock),then leave the clock in 'signal zone' for 10 minutes to have it synched.

4. Power adater hook up is absolutely amazing. goes in so easy and it lock itself. then you can only pull it out with a tweezer. yes... it's pain. you have to see it to believe it.

5. vertical viewing angle is off balanced for LCD screen. if you look straight to the display it will look all blurry.

6. back light is too dim. and it need to stay on longer.

function and features.. it's all there... but just not quite there. ... Read more

Mornings would be a lot easier if it could be guaranteed that you’ll wake up to both the accurate time and temperature as with this handy alarm clock. The clock has a built-in antenna system that receives radio signals from the atomic clock, keeping the precise time and date. Time is displayed in hours, minutes, and seconds and either 12- or 24-hour modes on the top of the LCD screen while the lower half shows the date; day of the week in either English, Spanish, or French; and current indoor and outdoor temperatures. The clock has an alarm with a snooze option and can be set to one of 13 time zones, including all US times zones and Greenwich Mean Time.

The temperature function displays in either Celsius or Fahrenheit and is measured indoors every 10 seconds. Outdoor temperature is measured remotely every 5 minutes via a 433 MHz transmitter (included) that can be positioned up to a maximum of 82 feet from the clock’s location. This clock and transmitter each run on two AA batteries (not included) and measures 4-1/2 by 1-3/4 by 3-3/4 inches. This digital clock is covered by a one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Small, accurate, but battery-powered
The clock is a bit smaller than I expected. I guess that's because I was expecting it to be the same size as the atomic wall clocks that are popular these days. But that's fine - the digits are 1 1/8 inches high - large enough for me to see without my glasses. It would actually make a pretty good travel alarm (though the atomic time setting probably doesn't function overseas).

I chose this model because I already have one of Lacrosse's weather stations, and it picks up the temperature signals from the same transmitter. Unlike other atomic clocks I've seen, these clocks from Lacrosse do not seem to be built on cheap crystals that lose seconds (or even minutes!) every day and rely on the atomic clock to keep itself accurate.

This would be the perfect alarm clock for me if only it could be plugged in, and remain lit continuously. The EL backlight only comes on for 4 seconds after you've pressed a button, to conserve battery power. ... Read more

This remote controlled outlet system lets you turn appliances, electronics, lamps, Christmas tree lights, or anything with a plug on and off from the comfort of your bed or sofa. The system comes with a remote control and two outlets; however, the remote can handle an unlimited number of outlets (must be purchased separately) on each of its four channels. You can also purchase multiple remotes (separately) and program them to control a single outlet for use in several areas of the house. The remote operates on a strong 433 MHz signal, which has a range of about 80 feet and can travel through floors or walls so you don’t necessarily have to be in the same room as the device you’re powering on or off. The remote has individual power buttons for each of its four channels and master power buttons for operating or turning off all outlets at once. The outlets can support electrics with a maximum current of 30 amps and a maximum power of 3,600 watts. The remote control requires two AA batteries for operation and is covered by a one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool Product! Would recommend for Geek who has everything!!
Guilty as charged! I do live my life through my son. I try to get him everything that I had or wished that I had, growing up...this is one of them!

I was having a tough time getting something nice for my son's 7th birthday. I asked him what he wanted...........he wanted NOTHING!!! And he wouldn't budge from this demand.

My son gets all tucked into bed and reads, without fail, every night. I thought I could save him getting a trip to the other side of the room to switch-off the light. So I started looking for a remote-outlet. I wanted a remote-outlet versus a light with a remote switch so as not to restrict myself to one applian...we could use the outlet with Christmas lights, etc.

I researched GE, RadioShack and a few other brands, but none had such sleek looking outlets or remot...they seemed oddly bulky or very 70-ish in their designs and were more expensive. I preferred the look and features of the La Crosse. I read the, only available, company reviews and decided to bite the bullet and purchase it from Amazon. (Free Shipping helped!)

PROS:
1. It has a sleek design, which will not stand out in the room. The silver on Black finish is attractive and feels good in the hand.

2. Setup is absolutely intuitive - Plug it in, press the silver button on the outlet and press the button on the remote you want to control the outlet with. YEAH! That's it!!!

3. Visual Indicators - The outlet is powered with AC current and if you remove it or switch it from one outlet to another you need to re-program it....complex instructions above! ;o)
There is a small vertical LED above the silver button (see picture) which flashes when not programmed and is steady when programmed. I think it's cool to know in an instant what's wrong.

4. The remote is radio-frequency controlled and it does not need to be pointed towards the outlet.

5. The remote has four separate on-off channels. You can add two more remote-outlets, to this remote, for individual remote-outlet control. BUT you can connect more than one remote-outlet to one channel. E.g. If, late at night, you need to switch on your night-light, the hall-way light and the bathroom light......you can program all three remote-outlets to operate with channel 1. So when you press channel 1 all three will come on.

6. A master switch which can switch on-off all outlets at once.

CONS:
1. There is a very distinct 'click' when you switch on or off. I think it's due to the remote-outlet having a mechanical circuit rather than an electronic circuit. Just a little noisy, nothing more.

2. The buttons on the remote are a little loose, so they kinda' wiggle in their slots. I guess I'm so used to seeing tight, rubber-coated buttons on our remotes, this plastic feels a bit odd. No loss in performance though...just a personal feel.

3. With a loss of power, you need to reprogram the remote-outlets. This means that if you have a wall-switch for the wall-outlet, you might be re-programming pretty often - Old habits die hard. I suggest using this on a wall-outlet without a wall-switch.

4. This is a SERIOUS CONSIDERATION. On a standard wall-outlet (two outlets) there is a high possibility that you will lose the other outlet. The shape of this product hinders use of the other outlet.

Overall, I give this product 4-stars. I think someone took the time to think this product through. It's cool, functional, nice looking, very intuitive to use.

1-star less, because of outlet hogging and remote buttons.

My son loves this product as do I. He did end up getting a lot of gifts for his birthday, but this was the one he raved about most!! ... Read more

A great gadget to mount on a boat, enclosed porch, or outdoor deck, this battery-powered wireless station reports the temperature in your immediate environment. Many modern homes have up-to-date clocks or mini weather stations that depend on radio-transmitted data to stay calibrated and current. The La Crosse TX3U works outdoors by sensing temperature and transmitting that information to an indoor station. It can transmit to a base up to 80 feet away. The LCD display shows a Fahrenheit temperature reading, updated every minute. The TX3U can be added to augment information coming to La Crosse units already in operation. Remove batteries from base units first and activate sensors; then replace batteries in base units and press no buttons until a display appears. Multiple sensors can be assigned a number so that it will be clear which information from which sensor is displayed.

The TX3U operates on two AA batteries. Its housing is made of durable, neutral-tone plastic. The sensor works with all La Crosse weather clocks and stations except the Professional Weather Center Series: WS-2010, WS-2210, WS-2310, WS-2315 and WS-2510. For options in wall mounting, three screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. The TX3U measures 3-1/4 by 2-1/2 by 1 inch. Attention farmers and sailors--and any others who might want to know more about their local weather than a local radio has to offer--this Wireless Weather Station could very well be useful to you. More information than the average person would even know to ask for appears on readouts on a tiny aluminum base station only just bigger than 6 inches square. Three sensors (thermo-hygro, wind, and rain) transmit information from outdoor vantage points to the base station. Indoor and outdoor temperature (in degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius) and relative humidity are displayed. There are air pressure readings (in inHg or hPa, absolute or relative) as well as wind chill and dew point temperatures. The calendar and time displays (with manual setting option) are synchronized by tuning in to radio station WWVB in Colorado. There's even a forecast display and weather tendency indicator.

The advanced features available in this station are fairly staggering. The WS-2315AL has a detailed display of rainfall data for one-hour, 24-hour, or total-since-last-reset increments, measured in inches or millimeters. It features multiple programmable alarm functions for weather conditions such as approaching storms, heavy rains, or sudden drops in temperature or atmospheric pressure. In addition, it keeps records of all minimum and maximum values along with the times and dates of their recordings. Of special nautical interest are wind direction, displayed three ways, and wind speed in miles/hour, kilometers/hour, miles/second, knots or Beaufort scale. A COM port is included for easy connection to a PC. Heavyweather PC Interface software allows the recording and uploading of all the weather data from the base station, as well as up to 175 sets of weather history data. (The Web site www.heavyweather.info offers more information.)

The Wireless Weather Station set includes: a base receiver station, a thermo-hygro transmitter (WS-2310-25), a wind sensor (WS-2310), a rain sensor (WS-2310-16), an optional wired connection for data transfer, a software in CD-Rom format for transfer of data to PC, a PC RS232 serial port cable, and an AC/DC power adapter. (Base station can also operate on three AA batteries.) The base station measures 6 by 1-1/4 by 6-1/2 inches. La Crosse provides a one-year limited warranty on its weather stations. Each weather station comes with a thoroughly detailed instruction booklet. --Garland Withers ... Read more

1. The outdoor temp sensor is inacurate, over reads by 5-7 Deg C.
2. Indoor temp over reads by 3-4 deg C.
3. The outdoor humidity sensor is highly inacurate, way out.
4. I have yet to get another devise to check the acurracy of the wind speed.
5. At times the outdoor sensor switches itself off for a duration of 30 - 40 min for some unknown reasons, I cannot find out why.
6. The power supply conector don't have a good contact to the main unit.

They should make this things more accurate and reliable then just the good looks. ... Read more

This infrared thermometer lets you get a temperature reading on hard-to-reach areas and keeps hands from coming in contact with the measuring surface. Some typical uses include measuring hot engines or machinery for evidence of overheating, determining heating or cooling loss along building walls, or checking food products to ascertain that they are being stored at a safe temperature. The thermometer measures cyclically for faster and more accurate temperature readings and reports findings in either Fahrenheit or Celsius degrees. A data hold feature lets you save and display the last temperature taken. The thermometer also recalls the maximum and minimum temperatures for a given series of measurements so you can keep track of the coldest and warmest points of the surface you’re measuring. This gadget has a backlight for use in dark places and a neck band and carrying pouch for easy transportation. The backlight turns off after 4 seconds and the thermometer shuts down 8 seconds after a reading in order to preserve the life of the four button-cell batteries (included). This unit is covered by a one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

Many modern homes have up-to-date clocks or mini weather stations that depend on radio-transmitted data to stay calibrated and current. The La Crosse TX3UP works outdoors by sensing temperature and transmitting that information to an indoor station. It transmits to a base up to 80 feet away. The TX3UP can be added to augment information fed into La Crosse units already in operation. Plus, the 10-foot probe cord helps monitor soil or water temperatures.

Remove batteries from base units first and activate sensors; next replace batteries in base units and press no buttons until a display appears. The TX3UP can be used as one of multiple sensors; many La Crosse weather stations allow numbers to be assigned so that it's clear which displayed information is from which sensor. The TX3UP operates on two AAA batteries. Its housing is made of durable, neutral-tone plastic. The sensor works with all La Crosse weather clocks and stations except the Professional Weather Center Series: WS-2010, WS-2210, WS-2310, WS-2315, WS-2510, and WS-7015. For options in wall mounting, two screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. The TX3UP measures 3 by 2-1/4 by 1 inch. La Crosse provides a one-year limited warranty on its sensors. Each sensor comes with a detailed instruction sheet. --Garland Withers ... Read more

Sports enthusiasts, early risers, athletes, and commuters will enjoy the extra edge they get from the La Crosse Technology wireless temperature station. Battery-operated and completely wireless, the system lets you know the temperature outside and inside before you even get out of bed. In addition, it is incredibly accurate thanks to a built-in antenna that receives radio transmissions from the National Institute for Science and Technology's atomic clock in Fort Collins, Colorado. Other features include dual alarms with distinct rings, a snooze option, a calendar date display, and a time zone setting. Handy structural details include an adjustable backlight, a battery indicator, and a manual setting option.

Measuring 3-1/4 by 1-1/8 by 5-3/4 inches, the unit has a large LED monitor, and is controlled by sturdy, forthright buttons. The clock can be set to a 12- or 24-hour system, and the temperature reads in Fahrenheit or Celsius. Measuring 1-1/2 by 1 by 5-1/4 inches, the included outdoor temperature transmitter also runs on two AA batteries and can be mounted to a wall up to 80 feet away. Two additional transmitters can be added to the system, and La Crosse Technology includes a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars this is a glowing review
I wanted a unit that had min max and I wasnt sure if this one did. So I contacted Lacrosse directly and was assured that it does. And it does. And it was so easy to set up. All I had to do was change the time zone and it was firing on all cylinders right away with no problem whatever. I really like that is has a super accurate clock and the date is a nice feature too. And it just works so well its almost amazing. Things dont usually work this well. I just got it out of the box a few hours ago so I am not reviewing as of a few months down the road, but first impression is 100%. Buy one. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

If the Weather Channel or a local weather radio station isn't enough, it might be that the La Crosse WS-7391UF Wireless Weather Station can take up the slack. Multiple meteorological readouts appear on an elegant cherry-toned base station that mounts on the wall. Sensors (up to three) transmit information from outdoor vantage points to the base station. Indoor and outdoor temperature (in degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius) and relative humidity are prominently displayed. Radio-controlled calendar and time readings are accurate to within a second per year. Time can be displayed in 12- or 24-hour modes.

The weather forecast feature, estimated to be 75% accurate, is based on change in air pressure over time. Three icons--a sun, a sun with clouds, or two rain clouds--indicate imminent changes in the weather. And there are two weather tendency arrows as well, indicating changes in air pressure. Current moon phases are also indicated. A large round button, designed to look like the bottom bulb of a thermometer, is divided into a channel changer and a reset button.

The weather station comes with La Crosse transmitter TX4U. Clock and transmitter each operate on two AA batteries. The WS-7391UF measures 17-3/4 by 6-1/2 by 1-1/4 inches. La Crosse provides a one-year limited warranty on its clocks. Each clock comes with a thoroughly detailed instruction booklet. --Garland Withers ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

When is a clock not just a clock? When it provides so much more than just the time: temperature, time accuracy within one second per year, and a weather forecast, for example. This handsome wall clock, with its dual LCD screens and black-accented cherry finish, is an example of household life being enhanced by science. The WS-8157U-CH can hang on the wall or stand freely, with a built-in, fold-out stand. Radio-controlled time (to the hour, minute, and second) and date are prominently displayed, along with indoor and outdoor temperatures measured in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The day of the week can be displayed in English, French, Spanish or German.

Time can be displayed in 12- or 24-hour modes, and time zones from Greenwich Mean Time to -12 GMT can be selected, with three-letter identifications for US time zones. An alarm feature is useful as a timer, and, if the clock happens to hang or stand near a bed (or a couch that's used for napping), a snooze feature allows for gradual wake-up. The weather forecast, estimated to be 75% accurate, is based on change in air pressure over time. Three icons--a sun, a sun with clouds, or two rain clouds--indicate imminent changes in the weather. And there are two weather tendency arrows as well, indicating changes in air pressure.

The clock comes with La Crosse transmitter TX6U. Clock and transmitter each operate on two AA batteries. For options in wall mounting, three screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. The WS-8157U-CH measures 12-1/4 by 8 by 1-1/4 inches. La Crosse provides a one-year limited warranty on its clocks. Each clock comes with a thoroughly detailed instruction booklet. --Garland Withers ... Read more
