For grinding larger quantities of coffee beans for a coffee-drinking crowd, Capresso’s commercial-grade Infinity grinder handles 8-1/2 ounces of beans at a time. Sixteen different settings--four each in the four categories of extra fine, fine, regular, and coarse--let you adjust the grind to the specific blend of coffee and method of brewing. The finest setting is ideal for preparing Turkish coffee, which is a rare feature to find in a grinder. A built-in timer sets the grind for anywhere between 5 and 60 seconds so you can walk away without having to constantly press a button to continue the grinding process. The Infinity has an advanced conical burr design made of steel that is usually only found on commercial grinders. This burr design slows down the gears and reduces the amount of friction and heat to preserve coffee’s flavor and aroma. The coffee container holds up to 4 ounces of grounds and remains sealed during grinding. For safety, the bean container also needs to be locked into place for the Infinity to operate. Also, fo easy cleaning, the bean container and upper burr lift off so you can clean the grinding chamber with the included brush and wipe down the and heavy-duty zinc die-cast housing. Capresso covers this burr grinder under a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars For the coffee gourmet
If you are serious about the quality of the coffee you drink, then you know that the beans must be fresh-ground right before brewing. The beans must also be uniformly ground to prevent over- or underextraction of coffee oils during the brewing process. A burr grinder, as opposed to a blade grinder, achieves a uniform grind since the beans only pass through its burrs once. This Capresso grinder has commercial-grade conical burrs that reduce the generation of heat which can ruin the flavor of the coffee. I like the fact that the bean container holds a generous half pounds of beans, so you can fill it and forget it for morning after morning of perfect coffee. The 16 grind settings allow grinds for every coffeemaker and blend. Cleaning the unit is a breeze. The top burr is easily removable, and the unit can then be cleaned with the included brush. The grinder operation is quiet. If I have any complaint, it is that the timer, marked from 1 to 10, is hard to correlate with grind time and the resultant amount of ground coffee. Although the fineness of the grind makes grind times vary, the enclosed booklet, which has tips for use, should have included some guidelines for timer/grind settings/yield to minimize the guesswork. I recommend this grinder for the coffee gourmet.

Amazon.com Review

From the maker of many of the world’s best espresso systems comes this cordless, 1.5-quart water kettle. Elegant in design, the Capresso glass kettle reaches a boil more efficiently, quickly, and quietly than a stovetop kettle. The kettle sits snugly on the power base with the handle facing any position, a boon for left-handed users. A mirror-finish stainless-steel dome inside the bottom of the glass kettle contains the powerful 1500-watt heating element, which shuts off automatically in three cases: when boiling point is reached; when water dips below a certain level, and when the kettle is removed from the base. The top is affixed to the kettle and flips open vertically for filling, while the ribbed stay-cool handle provides a sure grip. Because the cord stays with the base, the kettle can be conveniently carried to the table for pouring or to the sink for filling. To operate, simply fill the kettle with fresh cold water to the desired cup or ounce marking, close the top and place on the base, slide switch to ‘on’ position (blue button lights up), and in an absurdly short amount of time the water reaches full boil. The kettle should be used to heat only water, never soups or other foods, and care should be taken not to touch the hot glass. While the kettle is made of heat-resistant German Schott safety glass, it should not be refilled with cold water when hot. The kettle stands 9-1/2 inches high when sitting in the 6-1/2-inch-diameter base. A one-year warranty covers the water kettle against defects but not glass breakage. --Ann Bieri ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
This kettle is great !I have tried several other brands , borrowed from friends to try etc. I got this as a gift and have been very pleased. I had hemmed and hawed for some time about getting an electric kettle - one more thing to question if I really needed or not ! This kettle is quiet, heats very quickly and looks (to my eye at least) much better than any of the others. Did I need an electric kettle? No, probably not. Am I glad I got one ? Yes, very definately. If you are going to have one why shouldn't it be nice to look at too !

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best!
This is my second electric tea kettle, the first one was made of plastic and lasted about 2 years it was great except that the connection to the base was melted from some sparks...
So, I was searching for something better. I just got my new Capresso 256 H2O Glass Cordless Safety Water Kettle and plugged it in for the first time and it is not like what the reviewers said, it boils fast, pours smoothly, and not noisy it make a normal boiling sound. A great looking appliance to boot.

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice looking but no quality
I have two Capresso cordless kettles:

Capresso 255.01 H2O Cordless Water Kettle (stainless steel in black) - I have this for home and I absolutely love it.

Capresso 256.01 H2O Glass Cordless Water Kettle - I got this in the mail today for workplace at my cubicle.

This review is on the 256.01 model - like anyone with a new toy, I immediately tried my new water kettle at work. The results were extremely disappointing after having boiled only two pots. The first pot was waste water to clean the pot. The second pot was for my tea...

The 256.01 (glass) is way sub-par compared to the 255.01 (stainless steel). Everything negative about the 256.01 is a positive on the 255.01. I am returning the 256.01 (glass unit) I got today. Chief complaint, not a nit, is that it pours messy -- even if you don't have the two units to compare like I do, you would be highly disappointed with the 256.01 model as when you pour water, it spills and drips water all over your stuff...

Here are my observations...

CONs:

• Pours messy: doesn't pour in a clean stream. Because of the design of the glass unit, you would have to really tip the unit to pour and when you do that the water starts to leak out from the sides. The rubber stopper under the lid does not prevent spills as you pour -- very messy, this is my biggest complaint.

• Condensed water under the lids, leaks onto the exterior of the unit: Within less than a minute after the unit shuts off, the water condenses rapidly and streaks of water droplets run down the exterior of the glass unit onto the base - could potentially damage the unit.

• "On" indicator light is not bright enough. After pushing the button up to turn on the unit I had to look hard again to make sure that it is working or is on. I had to literally pull my face close to the kettle and look at the light from directly above it to see or notice that it's a nice muted blue when lit.

• Handle not ergonomic: not only does the handle not feel nice, it is not ergonomic when heavy, filled with water. Especially given that the design of the handle thins downward. This unit is base heavy so the thin handle doesn't allow a good grip or balance.

• Cord gets very warm: the instructions indicated that the unit should be unplugged if not in use so I reached for the cord after having made my tea -- to my surprise it was really warm, so I was a bit taken aback...

• Manual lift for lid: There is no push button to open the lid, I had to manually lift the lid -- my concern is the hot steam rising.

• Does not shut off immediately after lifting from base: I hear the button unclick (shut-off) 15 to 20 seconds after having lifted it off the base, it just doesn't go off immediately.

• Not quiet enough for workplace: pretty loud as it is picks up near boiling point and the sound tones down once it boils, then you hear the bubbling of water.

PROs:

• Clear glass unit allows one to watch the bubbles as the water is brought to a boil - this is the only feature I like about this model. I enjoy making tea and I can't let the water boil to blubbering boils, it needs to be fish-eye water to make good tea so clear glass would allow me to watch the bubbles and shut off the unit before it boils like crazy...

• Quieter than the Capresso 255.01. Although the 256.01 is not quiet enough for my use at work, I must admit it is quieter than most models. However, for home use I do need the loud boiling sound since it doesn't have an alarm - that way I know my water has boiled.

I'd highly recommend the Capresso 255.01 over the 256.01.

With that being said, I hope you found this review informative... ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Gorgeous as it is to behold, this Art Deco waffle maker's bestfeature is under the clamshell-shaped, chrome lid: reversible platesthat create both Belgian and "five of hearts" waffles. The former holdlots of melted butter, syrup, and fruit. The latter display fiveheart-shaped sections fanning out from the center. In either case, thewaffles benefit from the patented plates, which contain embeddedheating elements that ensure even heat distribution for uniformbrowning. The plates are nonstick so they release waffles in one piece. They're removable and fully immersible for scrubbing in the sink, andthey're also dishwasher-safe. Though it produces 7-inch-diameterwaffles, the compact waffle maker measures only 8 inches wide and11-1/2 inches front to back. For upright, space-saving storage a cliplocks the handles together. The waffle maker carries a one-yearwarranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars This waffle iron falls apart
Boy was I delighted for a couple of months with this waffle iron. But as time passed, the temperature knob fell off. I was able to push it back in place and it worked for a while, but then the indicator light no longer worked and now I can't even get the iron to heat up. What a really big disappointment and it sure ain't inexpensive. I am about to buy a new iron for 19.99. This is what I should have done in the first place.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice waffle maker, better with Belgian than regular, though
Good things about this waffle-maker:
Super-easy to clean
Waffles don't stick at all
the Belgian waffle side makes perfect waffles -- just the right thickness, cooked evenly
Nice-looking

Could use improvement:
the regular waffle plates produce a very thin waffle, not quite the same thing as I got from my old wafflemaker.

If I were going to buy again, I might go for a regular wafflemaker AND a Belgian wafflemaker (I'm not sure about price, but this was a pricey appliance), but then again, there's two appliances you have to store.... So I'm not sure, but on balance I'd have to say I don't regret this purchase.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not great for standard waffles
Overall I like the construction and ease of use of this maker, and the fact that it doesn't have the loud alarm people complain about on other models. Seems to be made okay (the plastic shell is a little thin, predictably, since it's made in China--I wish Amazon[.com] showed country of manufacture!). My first response, though, when I made the heart-shaped waffles, is that they're too thin. The Belgian waffle side is nice and deep, but I'm more a standard waffle pattern fan, and maybe because of the depth on the Belgian side, the heart-shaped ones don't have very deep holss. They seem about the thickness of a pancake with pyramid-shaped grooves instead of real square holes. The flavor isn't bad and I think I'll keep the thing (maybe I'll learn to like Belgian) but the texture also suffers a little, and if you have strong memories of standard waffles from an old iron or a restaurant, these don't really look like them. Also, they brown a little unevenly. Good points: waffles released easily, assembly and switching to the other waffle pattern is easy, the plates seem heavy duty. It will remain to be seen if they non-stick surface and the plastic shell's metalic finish hold up. I'd be dissatisfied except I also browsed stores and didn't see anything I thought was a lot better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cleverly designed and well made
I got this waffle maker for Christmas and we have used it several times since then. It works easily and the waffles come out beautifully. This is the first time our household has ever used one and still the waffles come out just right. The price is a little higher than for other waffle makers, but this one is attractive enough to display on the counter-top and it has removable plates that are easy to wash. A final cool thing is that it makes heart waffles or Belgian, and both look great (and taste great too using the recipe in the waffler instruction booklet). Highly recommend it. And wait until you smell how good homemade waffles are in the morning!

5-0 out of 5 stars Possibly the best waffle iron out there--Ingenius!
My old waffle iron broke down about 4 months ago, & I had spent that much time searching, searching, for the perfect waffle iron. I found it! First, you've gotta love the gorgeous looks of the stainless steel exterior. Second, I've always preferred the deep, Belgian-style pockets, especially in a round shape, which this iron has, but what a bonus!!!--reversible plates to give you the extra-special heart-shaped waffles. And because the plates are reversible, they are REMOVABLE, so you can actually immerse them to wash them, & even put them in the dishwasher! That is such a fabulous feature. Finally, I am just thrilled with the results--the waffles themselves are light & crispy, SUPER-EVENLY cooked, simply perfect. They cook quickly, in about 3 minutes, & do not stick at all (even when I overflowed the batter.) In short, I cannot say enough good things about this iron, & there is no reason to buy another kind. ... Read more
