Synonymous with quality, durability and reliability, this ultra-modern, all-metal 7-qt. mixer is made for the professional chef as well as the home chef. Equipped with a heavy-duty 980-watt motor, the DeLonghi stand mixer is strong enough to knead yeast dough yet gentle enough to whisk a single egg. One distinguishing feature of the DeLonghi mixer is its planetary mixing action, whereby the beaters rotate in one direction while the beater socket rotates in another. The result is a thorough and perfect mixing each time. Included with the mixer is a Non-stick Flat Beater for mixing cake and cookie batter, the Stainless Steel Whisk Tool for producing light, fluffy textures for mousses, souffles and meringues, and the Non-stick Dough Hook for easily kneading and mixing breads. The splash guard lets you easily add ingredients. For changing the beaters or removing the bowl, an easy-turn mechanism lets you to lift the head of the mixer with minimal effort. The automatic electronic speed control maintains speed and power regardless of load; an overload protection device keeps the mixer from overheating. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Step aside Kitchen Aid, and make room!
Theres' a new guy in town.Everything KitchenAid makes isnt all that great. The sturdy looking Kitchen Aidgarlic press I got last month I had to return after it just didn't work.(how can you screw up a simple device like a garlic press?) I received a huge ugly 7 quart KitchenAid mixerduring the holidays.I viewedall the comments on Amazon before I agreed to take it in and was sorry I did.Everyone who rated them poorly I could relate to.Mine sounded annoyingly loud, like a bad jet engine and pooped out after 2 uses and started making a "clunkity clunk" sound like something came loose inside. I puchased this DeLonghi mixeron Amazon because the mail ordercompany I got the Kitchen Aid from would have charged me 40 bucks extra for shipping. This DeLonghi is superior to the K.A.mixer.It runs smoothly and quietly (has a nice soft whirr sound not a whiney jet engine sound), the bowl which is stunning and very shiny looking just easily drops in and twists into place at its base.It is a beautiful machine and looks great in my kitchen. It is so easy to set up and use and the instructions are pretty much only 2 pages. It will take you all of 2 minutes to understand how to operate this machine. I am extremely happy about this purchase after the fiasco with the Kitchen Aid mixer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Indy car of the mixer world
This mixer is the best on the market without question. We got ours based on reviews of other mixers. While praise for the kitchenaid and others was written, issues with the motors burning up or gears stripping out were prevalent within the reviews seen on the web.

This mixer has the power for the serious cook or the hobbyist. It does not bog down in heavy dough and has an overload device that will prevent you from damaging the motor or gears. This will be the brand you will buy from now on.Once you try the Delonghi, you will be a fan for life.

The unit has several attachments that, unlike most multi task kitchen tools, are very useful. The blender, in conjunction with the 980-watt motor, makes for the best blender I have owned. The food processor is equally powerful and easy to use.As that funny guy says on the Food Network, "It's a good multitasker".

Oh yea, that fellow on the Food Network painted flames on his Kitchenaid mixer. If his mixer and the Delonghi were in a race, his would be upside down in the ditch. You will not go wrong with the Delonghi DSM7 mixer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Delonghi mixer rates very high
I have a cake decorating business out of my home and have used KitchenAid mixers for 15 of my 25 years in business. When I changed to DeLonghi about 5 years ago I decided I will never go back to KitchenAid.The motor is much more powerful and reliable. The splash guard attaches to the tilting top, so that you do not have to remove the beater to remove the splash guard and take the bowl out of the mixer as you do with the KitchenAid.There is more room to add ingredients because of the tilting top also. The bowl is much easier to put in and out.The speed control is more conveniently located and smoother in its operation. It is easy to clean and sleeker looking on the counter top. With the 7-quart bowl I am able to mix 4 cake mixes at one time which is really helpful.

The only negative I can offer is that the beater is not dishwasher friendly. But the KitchenAid beater was not either.
Viking has a stainless steel beater and that seems better, but I cannot speak to its ease of use and I have not tried that brand.

5-0 out of 5 stars MOVE OVER KITCHENAID, THE KING IS HERE!!
OH, MY GOD!!Talk about power!!I was going back and forth between "the known" Kitchenaid or Delonghi.I was going to get a Viking, but read too many bad reviews.
I decided on the Delonghi, firstly, because of the name.I have several Delonghi products and am very happy with them.Delonghi acquired Kenwood, so I decided to read some of the reviews for the Kenwood Stand Mixer and they were mostly favorable (nothing is perfect).Secondly, at 980 watts, it is much higher than the 500+ you get with the top of the line Kitchenaid. Thirdly, I read too many reviews that, while praised Kitchenaid, talked about the motor burning out when making dough.HELLO!! the motor is extremely important!!
Let me tell you, this mixer has power!!I made 17 pies, a cake, and 24 tarts for Christmas and making my own dough was a breeze!!
Kitchenaid may be the best for some people, but Delonghi is for me!!
Be Blessed!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product - Performs Well
Dehumidifier works great! When first plugged in, all it did was beep, until I discovered that the small knob that is in back of the collection tray had come off in shipping. Once that was popped back in, the unit works great. The basement is much better. It reduced the total level in just a couple of hours down to a much more comfortable/healthy level.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice Product
Very pleased with DDE40E Dehumidifier. Seems to be very efficent in keeping humidity in my 25ft x 25ft previously very damp basement at desired level.

5-0 out of 5 stars COOL
I live in New Orleans and its as hot and muggy as anywhere here. I recently purchased this humidifier and it has changed my life dramaticaly. i no longer wake up in the morning in the swamp that i used to call my bedroom! This dehumidifer was a great purchase because it allows the air in my room to get recirculated/filtered every 10 minutes or so. In addition you can't even notice the machine its so quiet! I reccomend this to anyone.

3-0 out of 5 stars Loud Motor...
All the features listed above are true to form for this machine. However, the big disappointment is how loud the unit is! Picture living with a hair dryer on all the time... not good. Loudness aside, it does do a great job. Living in the midwest, I would opt for the 60-pint size- I am emptying the unit almost every 8 hours. ... Read more

Stuff two slices of of rustic Italian bread with mozzarella, prosciutto, fresh basil, roasted red peppers, and whatever else takes your fancy, brush with olive oil, then press between the hot plates of this grill for the best panini outside Italy. The nonstick plates are hinged to adjust to any thickness of sandwich, meat, fish, or vegetables, and the bottom plate slants slightly to allow grease and juices to drain off into the included plastic cup. Brunch guests will ooh and aah over the retro-look mirror-and-glittery finish of the grill with its wide sweep of a handle. A round polished knob lets you set and see just the right temperature in a small glass window. Measuring 14 by 12-1/2 by 5 inches, the grill includes a cord wrap and locks for upright storage. A comprehensive gift-quality recipe book featuring more than 60 recipes for panini, bruschetta, and spreads comes with the grill, which is covered by a limited one-year warranty. --Ann Bieri ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Every home needs a panini grill
But not necessarily this one. I bought this grill from Amazon in March. I use it alot, and even considered giving it 5 stars, but I have a couple of issues with it.

Compared to the other panini grills I have seen (Villaware, Krups, Wolfgang Puck), the DeLonghi has fewer, more widely spaced ribs. This design makes it easy to clean with a cloth, and no cleaning "comb" is provided. However, a drawback to the wide spacing is it can allow your panini to squish down into the valleys where all the oily stuff goes. You would be surprised how much oily goo a peperoni and mozzerella panini can make, especially if you brush the outside with olive oil, butter, or mayo before grilling like I do.

A minor annoyance: when it is stored upright on its back, it teeter totters on the lid's power cord. IMO, a high end appliance shouldn't have such a glaring design flaw.

Even though I like the DeLonghi alot, if I were buying another one, I would try the Villaware.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great grill, great price, and great results
This grill is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have used it for both panini sanwiches and grilling meat and have had great results.

No on/off switch though, kind of a hassle, but compared to old wolfie's grill, this is top of the line.

clean-up is easy, temp control is a plus and very fast cooking time. 1" chops in 8 min WOW!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny
I have hoped by now that I would see a review on the DeLonghi Retro Panini Grill CGH800 and have been looking since October 2003. I have read other reviews on competitor's models, but to date no one has written in on this wonderful unit so I feel I should.

I had a bad experience with another Panini Grill, also comparable in price but with handle breakage problems. In the reviews for the one I had purchased prior there was another with the same problem. I was hesitant about getting another, but I loved the concept and was willing to try another brand with high quality standards. In November I purchased this product.

The unit is very heavy and well made, and the handle is strong. I have made many Panini sandwiches and everyone is excellent. The grilling of the sandwich takes about 4-5 minutes and produces wonderful grill marks and the contents inside are very hot. I have used homemade bread, French bread, rye bread, pitas (which I feel are too thin) hoagie rolls and even store bought rolls all proving wonderful.

The combinations of sandwich fillings for Panini's are endless. I serve a large Panini with a bowl of soup for an easy weeknight dinner and a change of pace from the many recipes I make on other nights. We really look forward to each and every one and I am not disappointed in this product.

I want to comment on the non-stick - it is absolutely wonderful! Cheese or anything that may ooze out just comes up with a piece of toweling, nothing ever sticks. I have not grilled meats on it as I have three sizes of another well-known grill, but have grilled zucchini along side the sandwich. With the excellent coating I would not hesitate to cook meats and I like the fact that it has a trough for the grease to drip into the cup that is provided.

I also have not used anything but the highest temperature on the control as I only use this grill for Panini sandwiches, but I am sure that it would be perfect with something that needed a lower temperature. Also an additional plus, --it certainly would be ideal if my husband was not finished with something I served first and the thought that I could keep sandwiches warm and not burn the bread by turning the temperature to a low (keep warm) setting for sure is a wonderful addition to this product.

The product is pricey, but if you want quality and long life --this product is worth the investment. I am very happy with my purchase. ... Read more

When the weather is too cold to stand outside over the gas grill, fire up the Perfecto indoor grill instead. This electric grill has an embedded heating element and a special M-shaped grill design so the entire surface area heats up and grilling results are more consistent. Its adjustable, detachable thermostat has five temperature levels and can be adjusted low for grilling corn or other vegetables and higher for steaks or shrimp. The grill surface itself is nonstick, so less oil is required for cooking and swordfish steaks flip nicely without sticking. A nonstick splatter shield surrounds the edge of the grill to prevent walls and countertops from getting greasy and a drip tray below the grill’s surface catches any juices. Both the cooking surface and tray remove easily for painless cleanup. For the most tender and juicy meats, the tempered glass lid fits over the grill to retain moisture while still allowing the chef to check on meat’s progress. For safety, the Perfecto has cool-touch handles to prevent fingers from burns and an indicator light to show when the grill is heating up. The glass lid is dishwasher-safe but the grill surface and drip pan must be washed by hand. Delonghi covers the Perfecto under a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great alternative to outdoor grill
This grill was everything I hoped for. It heats up quickly and cooks as fast as any outdoor grill (i don't know why the other guy had a problem with his pork chops - I can do a medium size steak in under 10 minutes using the cover). Salmon steaks, hot dogs, burgers and everything else also come out great. I was also pleasantly surprised that it didnt generate much smoke at all. I think it's an excellent product for someone who can't have an outdoor grill. The only thing is I don't pay for my electric and it might use a lot of electricity due to its high voltage.

1-0 out of 5 stars Sorry Delonghi.....Not A Good Product!!
I did my homework and I thought I was buying a great table top indoor grill to cook chicken and steaks to replace a different brand that had just died on me. Well, I was very disappointed when I used it the first time and "tried" to grill pork chops. It took forever (much longer than the manual stated) and I had the temp setting at the highest. They finally did get done but were not very tasty and dried out because I had to cook them so long. My opinion is that because the grill is open on the bottom to the drip pan and the eating element is underneath....much of the heat goes down and not up to the food on top.
It was, however, easy to clean which was good because I packed it up and shipped it back the next day.
Sorry Delonghi, back to the drawing board.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst excuse for a grill anywhere
I have used a number of Foreman and Hamilton Beach contact grills. I bought this because I thought with the heat control I could sear then cook.

WRONG>

This is the absolute worst grill on the market. It simply does not get nearly hot enough to sear or even cook on the highest setting...say 20 minutes for a rib eye. Ludicrous.

Look elsewhere...I am throwing this monstrosity away!

1-0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy This Grill
Do not buy this grill. I tried to give it zero or negative stars, but the system would not allow that. The grill does not perform as described. It does not get hot enought to sear or brown the meat. I grilled a couple of pork steaks on the grill for over 30 minutes and they never got browned. Instead, there were light brown streaks where they contacted the grill and the rest of the meat just turned an unappetizing dirty gray color. Also, despite the length of time the steaks were on the grill, parts that were not in contact with the grill were not completely done. The manufacturer will undoubtedly say that a person should put the cover on the grill, but then the meat is being steamed rather than grilled and will not brown. And, I am not at all sure I will be able to return it, because I have used it and it was not shipped by Amazon, but by one of the marketplace merchants.

5-0 out of 5 stars buying another for family
I have to say I have an older model of this grill without the glass cover, somthing I wish I had. In either case, the grill has served its purpose in my home. When winter comes we cook just about everything we would cook on the gas grill on this. Best part is, unlike cooking steaks in the oven, the grill doesn't smoke the steaks and set off the fire alarms!

I also put everything in the dishwasher so clean up is a cake walk.

We like it so much we are getting another one this year as a gift for a family member. ... Read more

Even occasional bakers will wonder how they ever got along without a stand mixer once they splurge on this 5-quart model. The mixer has a high-quality sleek white-and-silver diecast aluminum construction and a heavy-duty 705-watt motor for long-lasting wear. Six speeds plus a pulse button give bakers the ultimate control, so dishes turn out perfectly mixed every time. The stand mixer maintains its power and speed on the chosen setting regardless of how much dough or batter is in the stainless-steel mixing bowl, and the beater moves in what Delonghi describes as a "planetary" motion for more thorough mixing without leaving unstirred flour on the sides or bottom of the bowl. A transparent splash guard keeps batter in the bowl and off of countertops, but also lets you monitor mixing results and add ingredients through a side hatch. Three attachments are included with the mixer: a stainless-steel whisk for whipping mousses or egg whites for soufflés or meringues; a nonstick dough hook for quicker kneading of bread and pastry doughs than is possible by hand; and a nonstick flat beater for mixing cake or cookie batter in record time. Four other concealed power outlets can run up to 12 other attachments, from a meat grinder to a pasta maker (sold separately). The mixer’s head tilts upward for easy removal of the bowl or to change the attachment. To keep itself in working order, the unit has an overload protection device and shuts itself down if ingredients exceed the recommended bowl capacity. As an added bonus, this stand mixer comes with a mini food chopper and four lidded glass storage jars for prepping and storing baking ingredients in advance. 5-0 out of 5 stars Best Value Mixer...
Have received this unit for a couple weeks now. I love it absolutely! First of all, with the power and the size, the design is far more superior than Kitchenaid's. With the same 5qt., it just looks a lot smaller. Mixing and beating are a lot powerful than KA. I was afraid that my beater would break with so high power. The best part is the automatic detect the overload. It doesn't like KA which needs constant watching the overheated motor. I do a lot of noodles so finally I found and settled with this one. The only problem is Delonghi's Pasta maker. It is just not as good as the rolling attachment like KA's pasta maker.

If you are looking for a small but powerful mixer, this is the one. Get one now from here since it is still made in UK by original Kenwood which is quite a reliable Enropean brand. Donno if Delonghi is gonna to move the manufacture to China or not. That would be not so cool. This same model with a couple add-on buttons is marketed by Hamilton Beach (CPM500) and sold as commercial grade mixer. I paid less on Amazon.com plus the $20 promo, just can't beat the deal.

5-0 out of 5 stars DeLonghi ST100P Steam Cleaner
This unit is rugged, light, and very well-designed. I was able to remove carpet stains which I was unable to get up by any other method. Unlike many other steam cleaners which are little more than toys and barely generate steam pressure above 1 atmosphere, this unit has excellent steam pressure which is necessary for difficult cleaning jobs such as barbecue grills and tough carpet stains. Steam pressure is generated in a matter of only minutes after filling the boiler and powering the unit. The ability to do serious cleaning without using any chemicals is a terrific asset. The steam switch on the wand is a great convenience.

4-0 out of 5 stars I'm getting used to it...
Easy setup and simple to use, but I do not know how slowly to guide the steam over the surface of what I am cleaning. I understand that it emits the steam at such a high pressure that the moisture evaporates within minutes. I have used a full tank of water to clean a mattress, and found that the mattress became only slightly damp. I don't know how deeply the steam permeated the mattress. I have had the same trouble judging its effectiveness on carpet, though it removed marks that I had previously given up on.

I also did not understand that I was supposed to vacuum the surface before AND after I steam cleaned. I have found that this is necessary.

I am looking for wiping cloths to replace the one that comes with it. It is like a super-heavy HandiWipe. I can only find them available from DeLonghi (...) I will experiment with alternatives.

It feels really good to use a cleaner that is so environmentally friendly.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's worth spending the money!
We had just moved into a condo, and the previous owner was, let's just say, not so clean. The bathrooms have the 1 inch tile flooring, white nonetheless. However, they were tan and the grout is brown. I couldn't clean it with ordinary cleaners or conventional ways. I purchased the DeLonghi Steam Cleaner hesitant of its price. It was the best purchase I've made so far in our new home. The steamer does exactly what it says it going to do - CLEAN. The fact that it steams back to the original color what you're using it for is amazing. The cleanup after using the steam cleaner is a little messy, as you have just liquified all of the grunge, dirt and dust accumulated on the surface. But it's well worth it. I would not recommend using it on walls, the heat from the steam can cause the paint to bubble and peel off. Also not recommended for flooring other than tile, stone or other hard surface. The wood floors it will stain with water spots if you use it too close and often.

I recommend this product for cleaning bathroom tile, kitchen appliance, even your car or motorcycle. It did an amazing job on the white letters on the car tires.

I found this item too bulky. It is akward to use. Although, it does a good job cleaning.............great for cleaning windows.

I came to check on Delonghi and was surprised to see Business Solutions mentioned here. These clowns can't run a gargage sale. Have you ever wondered why so many of these vapor firms are in Florida? They all are the same. Business Solutions....Vapor Clean Products....Vac International, et. All the same. These bozos deliver way late. I finanlly cancecled my order after weeks. And I know of someone who had to wait over two months for a machine that came with no instructions. Well, this isn't the palace for this but I was surprised to see Business Solutions mentioned and could not pass on the chance to tell everyone about their terrible way of doing business. This Delonghi gets good reviews. But do they deliver with a manual? ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

The capacious DeLonghi Metropolis blender is a powerful and handsome machine suited to crushing ice and blending drinks, smoothies, and soups. Set on a heavy flared base with rubber grip feet for stability, the blender offers three powerful speeds with an optional pulse function, and a built-in ice crushing function that alternates between on and off for added efficiency. The dial control and speed gauge are easy to use--though the grip is made of a surprisingly light plastic for the heft of the rest of the machine. The Metropolis' jar is formed from heavy-duty glass, marked with metric and imperial measurements, and fitted with a smooth arched handle. Designed to resist scratching and discoloration, the jar holds up to 50 ounces at a time. It stands stably on the countertop, pours smoothly from its tapered spout, and drops into place on the base-no need for twisting it into position. A clever feeding tray nestles into the jar's removable lid, allowing for the tidy addition of ingredients while the machine is running.

For extra safety during operation, the blender includes a dual shut-off system that cuts power if the jar or lid is removed or is not in the correct position. The stainless steel blade assembly removes to simplify cleanup, and the base wipes down easily. A combination of matte charcoal, black, and chrome-colored accents, the blender has a stylish appearance suited to the modern kitchen or bar. It stands approximately 17 inches high with the feeder tray in place and carries a one-year warranty from DeLonghi. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

Looking like a chrome handbag from the 1940s, the DeLonghi Retro Belgian Waffle Maker is gorgeous and sleek. But the beauty is more than skin deep, because it is also a hard-working appliance. High-polished chrome with softer, brushed accents, the waffle maker will make a statement in any stylish kitchen. And in addition to the waffles for which it was ultimately designed, it can also be used for grilled sandwiches and other toasted and griddled delights. Two features highlight this versatility. First, an adjustable hinge offers two different height levels, so the lid can close tightly for waffles or remain more widely open for thick panini. Secondly, the WR45 comes with a set of reversible plates; each has a nonstick flat griddle side, as well as the traditional deep-pocket waffle forms.

To select the desired degree of browning, there's an adjustable thermostat dial. A green ready light illuminates when the griddle has reached the desired temperature, followed by 6 beeps announcing that the griddle plate's ready to receive the waffle batter. The green light will go off when the latch is closed and baking begins; when the four 3-1/2-by-5-inch waffles are ready, it will light back up, accompanied by three beeps. When cleaned and ready to put away, the snug safety latch allows for space-saving vertical storage.

To clean the metal casing, use only a warm, damp cloth; dry with a soft towel. Clean plates with a damp cloth and a nonabrasive cleanser--never use any sharp or pointed implements to scrape plates. Always unplug device before cleaning it. DeLonghi waffle makers are not immersible. The WR25 measures 12 by 13 by 5 inches, including handle and feet. DeLonghi guarantees its waffle irons with a limited one-year warranty. A list of DeLonghi service locations is included. --Garland Withers ... Read more

Making up to 1-1/2 quarts of ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt, sorbet, or frozen drinks at home takes only 20 to 30 minutes with thisappliance, and salt and ice are not needed. After the machine'schilling chamber has been in the freezer for about nine hours, theliquid between its walls is thoroughly frozen. The paddle then goesinto the chamber attached to the power head. The transparent cover islocked in place, and the machine is turned on. Ingredients go into thechamber through an opening in the cover as the paddle turns. Thechamber chills the ingredients to whatever consistency isdesired--though dense treats are hard to make because the paddle churnsin air.

Chocolate chips, chopped fruit, nuts, and other special ingredients canbe added toward the end. Storing the chamber in the freezer ensures afrozen confection is only 20 to 30 minutes away when the mood strikes. The machine measures 8 inches in diameter and 8 inches high. 1-0 out of 5 stars informal
Unfourtunately it arrived without two important pieces, the Paddle and the Lid, both internal and smaller pieces, I cann't imagine why, it caused more than one disturbance because my father couldn't know how many pieces were, so he brought them to another country

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor quality product, lousy customer service
I bought this ice cream maker two months ago and have used it about 20 times. It's paddle is made of cheap plastic. The end that fits into the lid has bent out of shape. It now fits loosely and gets stuck as soon as the ice cream starts to form. I tried to call customer service this morning and was on hold for about 20 minutes listening to music. I lost patience and hung up. Sent them an email - no response so far. I would advise strongly against buying this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars DeLonghi vs Cuisnart
We purchased our DeLonghi after sampling ice cream made from my Sister-In-Law's Cuisnart machine. Nice fresh ice cream unlike the old days where you had to manually crank a handle...and the results were mixed at best.

Comparing the DeLonghi to the Cuisnart....the DeLonghi is much quiter. And that is a big plus when you have visitors who you don't want to be disturbed and want to entertain. Also the texture of the ice cream is better.

Replying to another customer review appearing for this machine...it DOES make treats with milk and skim milk. All without all the preservatives you will find in over the counter frozen treats from stores. ...

Our first batch didn't turn out great...but it was related to not being familar with our new machine. Ever since...success.

The secret to making a firm treat is to mix your ingredients beforehand and freeze/refrig before adding to the ice cream maker. Add it to the machine and let it work away. Then if you prefer a firmer treat, freeze further for a few hours to overnight.

Another suggestion is to buy the Ben and Jerry ice cream guide. It also states the innovation which I just mentioned above...and gives you many other helpful tips which will solve any issues you might encounter.

Gelato, Sorbet, Ice Cream, Smoothies. All came out well.

1-0 out of 5 stars AVOID Frozen Bowl Ice Cream Makers for Low Fat Desserts
Delonghi, GE, Cuisinart... no matter what the name, these ice cream makers with the frozen bowls do not work for low-fat desserts. (I have gone through two now.) Unless your ice cream mixture is high in fat content, ie. cream, the liquid freezes faster just below the liquid level along the inside of the bowl forming a ring that eventually prevents the paddles from turning. (The ice cream maker is frozen (locked) but your liquid is not!)

There's a law of of physics that says ice will form faster just below the water level of moving liquid. (Remember how the Titanic's famous iceberg was much bigger on the bottom!)

What makes these kinds of appliances a consumer fraud is the fact the manufactures HAD to have tested them and knew they did not work properly-- and yet still claim on the boxes that they will make 'frozen desserts' from skim-milk (which simply doesn't have enought fat.)

This design does not work...can't work unless you change how ice crystals form.

5-0 out of 5 stars I scream for more ice cream
This ice cream maker is easy to put together and easy to use. It is really quiet too!

My first batch of ice cream didn't come out too good because I did not allow the melted choclate to cool enough before adding it to the other ingredients. The best thing to do is prepare your mixture in advance and let it sit overnight.

I look forward to trying all sorts of recipes with this ice cream maker, its great. I just need to find out from the company if I can purchase another freezer container - so I can use the ice cream maker every day in the summer. ... Read more

Possibly the most beautiful waffle maker available, this retro-design appliance cooks Belgian waffles that are just as impressive--with crisp, golden outsides, light, fluffy insides, and four triangular sections with deep pockets to catch the syrup and butter. The round waffle maker cooks one Belgian waffle at a time and has a red power light that illuminates upon plug-in. An adjustable thermostat lets you select the crispiness of the waffle from among five temperature settings. Once the waffle maker has heated to the desired temperature, the green ready light illuminates and a pleasant beeping sound alerts you in case you are in another part of the kitchen. When the waffle has finished baking, the beeper conveniently sounds again. The nonstick plates make the waffle easy to remove and clean up quickly when baking is done. The exterior chrome finish gets extremely hot during cooking though, so exercise caution. However, the handle and surrounding area are made of heat-proof plastic and chrome to ensure that hands are fairly well protected. The round, compact waffle maker shape let it store upright in tight spaces--and it has a locking handle.
