    Amazon.com Review

Tidy, cordless, and easy to put into action, this Panasonic ice cream maker is a refreshing alternative to its hulking all-in-one countertop cousins. Though it requires more steps than the models where you throw in ingredients and go, this little maker is both smart and efficient, making up to 3 cups of ice cream or sorbet in a few hours. Combining a stainless steel bowl and a battery-powered mixing unit, the appliance features a dual-fin stirring spatula to thoroughly mix ingredients during freezing. A microprocessor gauges the consistency of the dessert as it hardens, so no monitoring is necessary. The battery pack is compact and removable, and the other components feel sturdy and well designed.

Included with the ice cream maker is a clear step-by-step instruction guide and a colorful booklet of recipes to get you started. Most of these require mixing or beating of ingredients before placement in the freezer bowl, but the labor is far from intensive. Once ingredients are ready, simply turn on the power, put the bowl in the freezer, and come back in 3 to 5 hours. Impressively compact for easy storage, the ice cream maker measures just 5-1/4 inches high and 6-1/2 inches in diameter. Panasonic includes a one-year warranty.--Emily Bedard ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Exceptional Product
This is a great appliance. It cooks very fast, and is efficient as well. It is well made, and will far outlast the Black and Decker unit I had to dismantle and recycle (since parts would have cost more than the unit).

As far as toaster ovens go, it is well sized and an exceptional value for the price. Consumer Reports rated it very highly.

It is true that the back cooks faster than the front, don't overload it and everything cooks evenly (however the only time I've noticed this is with 4 slices of toast - the front ones being a little lighter).

It is also true that the appliance emits light when cooking - if that is your biggest problem, get a life.

It is not true that you have to press the time button N times to add time. Like most electronic devices, hold the button down and it auto increments.

It is true that temperature settings are graded in steps, not a full gradient. But, in a toaster oven temperature really is not critical to have to set within small gradients.

I do a lot of research before buying products, and am very happy with this purchase. Would purchase it as a gift, and am glad to have this at home.

4-0 out of 5 stars Panasonic Infared Toaster Oven
This is a wonderful little oven. It's great for toast, reheating left overs and convenience foods. It can be used as well for baking casseroles and meats. Meals for one to four can be prepared in it, cooked by the preprogrammed menus or by temperature selection. Using the latter, I've baked salmon filets, lean beef patties and a noodle casserole in it. It takes about 30-35% less time to cook an item than in an ordinary oven. It also uses 1300 watts as opposed to the usual 1500 of most units. Best of all there is no preheating, which also saves time and energy. It is a nice size as well, fitting perfectly on my stove top under the exhaust fan. Note! The instructions give detailed safety precautions in regard to use. I'm careful not to have a burner operating when the toaster is on. Otherwise I move it elsewhere. Having used it for less than a week, I may rate it higher. There are a few drawbacks, however, that caused me to give it a 4 this time. Panasonic does not have a cook book other than the instruction manual, which isn't very detailed. Cooking in the oven is by experiment as to time and doneness. Also, it is advised to use only metal pans as opposed to heat resistant glass. I called Panasonic and was told the latter might break because of the intensity of heat and being too close to the heating element. I have used stainless steel pans instead of aluminum and found them to work quite well. In cooking meats or fish it is suggested that it be wrapped in foil. I prefer not using foil, although I did cover salmon loosely with it to shelter the unit from any spattering. Overall, I highly recommend this oven.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but........................
Overall, a nice "little" toaster oven. Compact in size, but great for small amounts of food or a few pieces of toast. It might take you a while to get used to the fact that the heat is generated by "bulbs" as opposed to the more conventional heating element, but this compact oven does a very nice job. My only reservation about this item is long term reliability. Construction is a bit "light weight" but fit and finish are good. I had the unit only 2 months before the heat bulbs stopped working. The unit was still in warranty, and Panasonic repaired it and had it back to me in about 10 or 12 days. The only cost to me was shipping to their repair depot. Panasonic's phone support is SLOW. If you ever have to contact them, expect to wait at least 10 to 15 minutes before you get to talk to a real, live person. Once you do get them on the line, they are very helpful and polite.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for office and dorm
I was skeptical, but all of the positive feedback encouraged me to purchase the first one for the office lunchroom. I cannot believe what a perfect purchase this was! No pre-heating necessary - I hadn't truly thought about how convenient that would be until I used it the first time in the middle of a busy afternoon. I can't hear the timer from my office so I usually return to my perfectly cooked food well after it's shut itself off automatically. Have never burned my lunch or anyone else's! And it's impressive with re-heating leftovers from yesterday's restaurant lunch. I'm so happy with it's convenience and performance that I purchased one for my nephew to take to college with him in the fall.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it
Does a fantastic job for us. We use it for toast, reheating, and other simple everyday jobs and it works great. It is extremely quick and consistent.

Here are a some points that might make your experience different than ours.

    1. It doesn't hold that much. It is fine for my family of 3. However if you have a large family it might not be right for you.

    2. It looks a bit different than any other appliance I have. At first I did not like the look that much. However when I saw how well it worked, it quickly grew on me.

    3. I was surprised at how hot the top of the machine got. You definitely don't want to put anything on top of it. Make sure you have a space that includes a few clear inches about it.

Again it fits us very well and we love the thing. ... Read more

    Amazon.com Review

This electric cordless iron comes complete with its own carrying case, making it ideal for sewing teachers headed to a class, costume designers on their way to the set, or a wedding party traveling across the country with wrinkled bridesmaid’s dresses. Once the power base is plugged in, the cordless iron begins to generate heat. The flatiron simply lifts off the base for use and there is no dangerous cord to get tangled up in. The three temperature/steam settings function via an electronic keypad on the handle, and an internal microprocessor accurately maintains the correct heat.A fabric chart on the power base recommends appropriate heat settings for specific fabrics. A steam button on the top of the iron’s handle has three positions--high, low, or off--and can be adjusted for each garment. The iron also has a jet-of-steam button, which releases excess steam for tough wrinkles and also clears out clogged vents. An automatic water seal ensures that water won’t drip from the soleplate when the temperature is below the steaming point. A large transparent purple window makes it easy to monitor when the water for steam needs to be refilled, and the tank detaches for easier filling.

This electric steam iron has a nonstick soleplate, which glides easily over clothing and reduces the chance of burns. Finally, for safety, the iron automatically shuts off in 10 minutes if left unattended in the power base. This power base has a convenient retractable cord, and is covered by a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
This iron does a bang-up job-- gets VERY hot, stays there, gives you great big bursts of steam when you need them, and it's much easier to use with the detachable water tank and of course no cord to get in the way.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great iron!!!
We have used this iron 1-3 times a week for the last 3 months and absolutely love it.<br /> I have friends who have tried cordless irons from OTHER companies and were very disappointed. This iron is nothing like its cordless competitors. It gets plenty hot, stays hot, and gives a mighty dose of steam when you want it to. So far, we are very pleased and would highly recommend it. <br />

4-0 out of 5 stars Never Thought It Would Work
We've had our iron for 2 weeks now -- and much to our amazement, it works great. At first, I thought the water tank was too small--but using the medium steam setting, the water tank lasted far longer than any other iron we've used. The iron is also not as heavy as prior irons we've had, so it's easier and less tiring to use. It stays hot, just as advertised, and I do not find it distracting to have the base sitting on the ironing board, like I thought I would. The one negative is that the retractable cord not only is not easily or automatically retractable, we could not even manually get it to retract into the base unit. We resorted to wrapping the cord around the iron before putting the top back on the unit to store it.

5-0 out of 5 stars You will love to iron!
When the iron arrived, I just wanted to try it out quickly to make sure I liked it, but then I soon found myself ironing everything in the closet. This heats up quickly, and yes, it gets quite hot, much hotter than my old Black and Decker iron. This iron stays just as hot between ironing "sweeps." The weighted heating base that you set it on actually helps your ironing board to feel more "stable," and since you set it down horizontally, you don't have to worry about the iron falling off and crashing onto the floor (like before). Plus, no cord to work with! YIPPEE! This iron is terrific.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hot Hot Hot
This iron is fantastic and stays hot for a long time while it is off the base. I bought it because I am an avid quilter and needed something cordless and that travels well. It is a little heavier than I expected but I think that lends to its durability. I used to use a travel iron that was a waste of time.

My only complaint is that the cord says it is retractable and I think that just means you have to push it back inside the unit and that is not as easy as I hoped. Other than that I give it an A++ and I hate to iron!! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware
If you purchase this product, I hope you are completely satisfied. It is my opinion that the reliability of Panasonic products has slipped in recent years, and this was confirmed to me recently when a product I purchased quickly failed. The reason I'm posting this is to warn you that the warranty that accompanies Panasonic products only has value if the company chooses to stand behind it. In my case, they weaseled out of it, leaving me with a total loss and no further recourse. Good luck with your decision. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars two tries--neither one ever shuts off...possible fire hazard
two strikes....i really wanted to like this little cooker but Panasonic seems to have quality control problems.

I suppose its possible that they came from a bad production run, but I give up with Panasonic.

4-0 out of 5 stars Review of panasonic 3 cup rice cooker.
Some thoughts about the Panasonic SR-W06PA three cup rice cooker which I bought last month.

It does a fine job with all kinds of rice, including long grain brown. The unit is simple, logically and well designed and only has one switch: on/off. Clean up is easy enough, especially if you soak the inner container for awhile before swabbing with a sponge.

There is no warming function after the rice has cooked -- the unit gives a quiet chime and powers off. This has not been a problem for me but if you want to keep rice warm in the middle of a meal, just switch the unit "on" for two minutes and turn it off. Alternatively, buy a more expensive cooker.

To re-heat left-over rice, use the steaming plate and put the rice on top of it. This works far better than trying to revive cold rice with a microwave oven and only takes a few minutes. The steamer works very well for vegetables -- would be worth having it just for that alone.

The cooker cooks one to three cups of dry rice -- more than enough for four people (probably six). The unit is small and compact in size (a 7" circle -- 9" counting handles -- that is 8" high with lid on) and easy to store.

Be aware that a "cup" measure (included) is actually about 6 ounces in volume. That still makes far more rice than I can eat at one sitting. I'd recommend buying a plastic or wood rice paddle (not provided) -- a wooden or nylon spoon would do -- to protect the non-stick coating.

The only product glitch is a printing error in the instructions. The user is told to add one cup of rice and one cup of water. Skeptically, I tried using one and a half cups of water and had to steam the resulting under cooked rice (but even that mistake turned out pretty well). The correct proportions are 1 rice to 2 water -- just like mom told you.

The instructions also tell you to soak the rice before cooking, something most European Americans do not do. Though I do soak my rice, it is not necessary to do so to produce satisfactory results.

I've been eating more brown rice since I bought the steamer because its so easy to make now. If you think cooking rice on the stovetop is easy, try a rice cooker. Just put the rice, water and a pinch of salt in and turn it on. No timing, no fiddling with the heat, and perfect results every time.

I have had good luck with Panasonic products in the past -- good value and reliability for the money. This rice cooker
    appears to be no exception.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great little vacuum cleaner
I've had my machine over a year now and I'm very satisfied. It's a great machine for hardwood floors and small carpeted areas. And, as with most vacuum cleaners, an extension cord is a great help. It's very light and portable and a great comfort to those of us whose hate lugging the electrolux out of the closet. I initially found it difficult to find replacement bags, but I just kept emptying the bag in the machine, scooping out the contents with my finger, and it worked fine.

However, I now order online from www.theallergyreliefcenter.com. They sell the "AMC-S5EP" (C-13) replacement bags used in this model. A pack of 5 replacement bags will cost you $4.99 and shipping costs $3.99. I think Amazon is also now selling the bags but their vendor shipping charges are a little higher.

5-0 out of 5 stars You can get the bags
Don't search for C-13, but instead search for AMC-S5EP on the internet. Then the bags will show up. I found them at theallergyreliefcenter

This vacuum is small and light, so unlike those heavy, unflexible upright cleaners, it's really easy to take this out from my bloom closet for quick cleaning.
It doesn't have any fancy features --- no brush/upholstery attachment, no multi-power switches -- there's only one switch to use; on/off. But it vacuums powerfully, so does enough job for my hardwood floors (for whom with carpeted floors, this maybe is not a right choice).
The biggest downside is, it is not easy to find replacement bags. I searched and searched, and finally found them in a Japanese store. I definetely think that Amazon.com should carry that replacement bags if they continue to sell this item.

2-0 out of 5 stars no bags!
Don't buy this vacuum cleaner! It's impossible to find replacement bags for it -- I've tried everywhere. Even the online Panasonic store doesn't sell them. Plus it doesn't come with a dust-brush attachment.

5-0 out of 5 stars easy to use vacuum
I really love this little vacuum.. I have hardwood floors and 4 cats and it does a really good job...plus its so small and just follows you around so easily... I bought it after reading the one review.. picks up kitty litter that gets tracked everywhere and also gets cat hair off upholstery easily.. ... Read more
