5-0 out of 5 stars Bring on the potatoes...
Good Grips utensils are amazing!!!! Those days of the metal peelers that hurt your hands, are difficult to handle, and difficult to use are over! This peeler is so smooth and so fast I can peel twice as fast. Its also more comfortable on your hands. You dont even have to use much pressure. This product is so good that I've bought several other Good Grips products. This is an absolute MUST for any kitchen. I think its great for older cooks to. My grandmother had athritis and this peeler was great for her. The handle is larger and just fits the hand better than the metal ones.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality value.
This is a sturdy peeler with swiveling twin blades and a built-in potato eye remover, which easily pares even the toughest skin of your fruits and vegetables, and carves out blemishes without damage. It produces thin rinds and peel with little or no pulp, and cuts on the first run every single time. Its blade never seems to need sharpening and its hefty body fits comfortably in the hand, making it require less force to operate than the more traditional lightweight peelers do, and keeping you away from any stress-related injuries. You can even use it to quickly julienne vegetables like carrots, cucumbers, and potatoes, among others.
Like the rest of the products from the OXO Good Grips line, this one is a great value of superior quality, unsurpassed durability and flawless performance. Its ergonomic design and big, pressure-absorbing, outstanding non-slip grip, complete with flexible fins to accommodate your fingers and an oversized hole for easy hanging, allow you comfortable, daily, wet or dry use.
Its elegant, stylized shape fits seamlessly with the rest of the OXO Good Grips collection. Its easy-to-clean, simple construction and dishwasher-safe, hard-wearing materials make this essential tool one that you will be able to depend on for years, and its stainless-steel metal parts will permanently keep your rust worries away.
After submitting this product to over two years of relentless, everyday use, mine it's still just like new.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the best
Like many of the "Good Grips" products, it's really astounding how much better this peeler is than "traditional" peelers (you know, the all-metal, slightly rusty thing that had been in your utensil drawer since you bought at at the supermarket when you were stocking the kitchen for your first apartment). This inexpensive gadget produces much better results, much faster and more comfortably, than any other peeler I've ever used. It works equally well on potatos, carrots, apples, etc. It's cheap ($5-$6 for an essential kitchen tool you'll own for years) and works great; why in the world wouldn't you buy it? If you cook and you don't own one, stop reading and buy one now. It's a no-brainer.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW! There couldn't be a better peeler.
I have been using a Pampered Chef peeler and thought it was excellent. Well, my definition of "excellent" has completely changed now. I peel a lot of potatoes and this OXO peeler is WONERFUL! It's funny, the first time I used it I had to look down at the potato because it was so slick and smooth that I thought it must not be peeling. I thought maybe it had some kind of cover that was sliding over the potato. :) But it wasn't doing anything but peeling. The only criticism that I have seen of this peeler is by some cooking snobs who want one peeler for every kind of peeling. Well, that's nuts! This is the top/best peeler, but it isn't a thin slicer. Other tools are made for that. If you want to bless either yourself or a dear friend or relative who loves too cook, get them this gormet tool and they'll think of you every time they are in the kitchen. God bless. Mike

This is the best peeler I have ever used! I got one for my mother and since then we have given them to every person we know with a kitchen. I no longer dread peeling potatoes or carrots! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Two for one price deal!
How can these products be so reasonably priced, while being so practical and easy to use? I am just amazed by each product this company turns out.

Secretly this type of peeler is my favorite since it is more ergonomic. You can't go wrong with a paring knife for everything from peeling apples to slicing olives. You will love this set.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dads Are Tops
The Good Grip potato peeler that I have was given to me by my dad several years ago. Dad helps mom in the kitchen because of my mothers illness and he is always looking for kitchen gadgets that makes work a little easier for them. He bought a Good Grip peeler either through a magazine ar a store. He liked it so much he thought I ought to have one. I love my potato peeler and matching paring knife. I think these are the most comfortable kitchen tools that anyone could use.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for smaller hands
After getting the paring knife as a wedding present, I fell in love with oxo's handles. For mother's day last year, I purchased this set for my mother and my mother-in-law. Both have small hands and greatly appreciated their ease of use.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent function and feel!
Basically we have folks in the house who suffer from arthritis
and fibromyalgia. These kitchen tools: parer and peeler work
better than hoped! Though they don't look all that impressive, they do function swiftly and comfortably. The slightly larger
than average grip works well on fingers often subject to pain
when pressure is applied. And the sharp ends do better than most
high-priced kitchen tools! We love it. We are here to buy more
and pass something 'great' on to friends and family that we
really like. The price is excellent, here. We paid far more
at a major brand competitot---more for each piece than the price
of the combined here. OXO tends to sell off shelves quickly. I
have no idea why we didn't think to look at Amazon.com.

4-0 out of 5 stars Practical & Affordable
I really like this set. The nice is practical for everyday use.

PEELER
I like how the handle on the peeler is larger than on most peelers. It is much easier to hold. It is great for carrots, potatoes, chocolate for fondue, etc.

KNIFE
This knife is great to use on just about anything. Whether it's slicing an apple or cutting a sandwich in half. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

This tough, durable, 8-inch peeler gets a potato naked for its bath in a jiffy. Cucumber, carrot, and apple peels succumb quickly, too. The swivel blade follows the contours of fruits and vegetables, ensuring that bits of peel don't remain behind. The blade guard's rounded tip digs out potato eyes and other defects. Oxo's Steel line is an all-stainless-steel variant of the company's familiar fat-handled Good Grips line. Rather than being straight-sided, this tool's handle is tapered from heel to finger grip and has satin-finish, stainless-steel panels top and bottom. The handle's sides feature the same design as those in the Good Grips line--they're made of soft processed rubber for comfort, with"fins," or grooves, that flex under pressure, conforming to individual finger grips and providing control when handles are wet or slippery. Like all Oxo tools, this peeler is dishwasher-safe; a hole in its handle facilitates hanging on a hook or peg. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sharp and Comfortable to Hold
I've had this peeler for over a year now, and use it frequently. Being from Maine, and living in a beautiful area of small farms, I always felt a bit guilty that I rarely made mashed potatoes, potato salad etc., as I HATED to peel potatoes, even local ones.

This peeler changed that! I find the large, yet comfortably curved handle is very comfortable to grip, much more so than Y shaped peelers or even Oxo's other "Good Grips" line. The rubber grip on the sides makes it less likely to slide from your hand than plastic or solid metal handled peelers.

The blade is VERY sharp. Yes, this can be dangerous if you are not careful; however, I've learned first hand a sharp blade is less dangerous than a dull blade (ouch). And it is, after all, a kind of knife designed to cut the skins from vegetables.

The blade swivels freely, closely following the shape of the vegetable, and the gap in the blade is wide enough that the skins don't get jammed in, requiring frequent removal.

All in all I think this is a great peeler, and I include it with my standard wedding/housewarming gift of kitchen gadgets. I highly recommend it.

2-0 out of 5 stars this isn't a great peeler...
There's no doubt about it - this is an attractive looking peeler. However, looks aside - it doesn't really perform that great in the kitchen. It takes a long time to peel something as simple as a potato - either because of bad design or the fact that it's not that sharp. I wouldn't recommend it...

5-0 out of 5 stars oxo swivel peeler
great tool -- sturdy and swift.

2-0 out of 5 stars too sharp
I have been a homemaker for almost 20 years and I have a lot of experience peeling vegetables...I am fast and have rarely cut myself. However, I bought this peeler during the holidays and a few days ago I cut myself so severly with it, I thought about going to the hospital. This peeler seems to slide over the food quicker than others I have used and so it some how gives me an "out of control" feeling with each thrust. It is also extra sharp. I can't recomend this unless your fingers are made of stainless steel as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars The only peeler you will ever need
If you own a peeler now that is not an OXO, throw it away. Once you try this peeler, you will never want another.

I have never been particularly adept with peelers. I have found that most did have sharp enough blades and did not peel easily. Most required a lot of pressure and caused hand pain. Not this perfect peeler! The swivel design goes smoothly around the curves of fruits and vegetables and the sharp blade makes peeling light duty. You never have to worry about the peeler slipping out of your hand, thanks to its wonderful handle design. The new stainless steel gives the peeler a very modern look.

While OXO Good Grips were designed with arthritis sufferers in mind, anyone in any kitchen will benefit from this superb product. Once you buy a Good Grips gadget, you'll want the entire line! ... Read more

With rotating, flexible stainless-steel blades, this swivel peeler by Oxo can contour to almost any surface shape. The large, cushioned rubber handle makes peeling comfortable, even with repetitive strokes. The built-in potato eye remover is durable and can easily carve out blemishes without digging.

The blade size and excellent handle make the paring knife the premier small tool for the kitchen. Designed for small jobs but useful for big ones, too, the sharp, tapered blade slices through fruits and vegetables easily while the tension-absorbing rubber handle takes strain off the hands.

The slip-proof handles on both the swivel peeler and the paring knife stay in place, wet or dry, and both are dishwasher-safe. Good Grips products are moderately priced and have won the Tylenol/Arthritis Foundation Design Award. --Laurie Notaro ... Read more
