5-0 out of 5 stars Ten cups worth of simple grinding
We spend mornings together. Evenings are better spent separately, but mornings are when our friendship is the most piqued and perky. At about 6:00 a.m. I awake all haggard and gravel-voiced, not seeing any clear reasons for daylight. My view and the sun both lift more quickly when this coffee grinder is at work.

I like coffee fresh, and carefully prepare it from freezing my beans to using only the heaviest cream and clover honey to sweeten the taste. To have the flavor I prefer most, I grind each pot's beans. Of all the options, the Toastmaster Coffee Grinder is all I need.

When it whirs, it purrs, happy to help me through the day's waking labor. I treat it well, never abusing it with harsh cleansers or hot water.

I have made ten cups of coffee ground from this device. That is probably the limit of the grinding bowl.

I never ask much of this one-speed friend. It turns on when I press the button. It turns off when I release the button. How fine a grind is based on how long it grinds. I only make one kind of coffee, so additional settings are not necessary. It wipes clean with a dry paper towel. Most of you only use a simple brewer, and will be happy with this grinder. ... Amazon.com Review

Keep your burners free and your eggs from overcooking with this countertop egg cooker. The cooker poaches up to four large eggs and soft-boils or hard-boils up to seven at a time. A built-in timer adjusts automatically to soft or hard settings and buzzes loudly enough to draw you in from the garden when the eggs are done. Soft-boiled eggs come out with a perfectly half-cooked center, while the white is cooked solid. Omelets come out in little serving-sized shapes and transfer to the plate without a mess. This cooker cleans up easily, but don't immerse it in water. --Shannon Borg ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Nowhere near what I'd hoped for
I bought this as a gift for my wife, since she likes eggs and they're not so quick to cook the "old-fashioned" way. We've used it a few times, and found it doesn't really live up to our expectations.

The idea seems like a good one: the unit heats a small amount of water and uses the steam to cook eggs under a sealed lid. In theory that might make cooking faster and more efficient, but this may be marginally true (it takes 18 minutes to hard-boil 6 eggs). While the cooker does do its job, to my mind the alarm it uses is enough of a reason not to recommend it. It produces the worst "all done" noise I've ever heard from an appliance -- a very loud alarm buzzer that sounds like it should be in a fire alarm. I wish it could have been designed to simply turn itself off when it was done.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Item You Never Thought You Needed
My mother thought I was insane when I bought this item. I had never successfully boiled an egg until I got it. My eggs would explode in the pan or never cook fully.

This appliance cooks PERFECT boiled eggs every time-- no green rimmed yolks, no broken/exploded eggs, no continual checking, and easy to peel. Yolks are nicely centered. Perfect for making deviled eggs.

It's easy to use and clean. I have never tried the poached eggs, so I cannot comment on its functionality in that area.

Let your friends (and mother) laugh. Buy this product and make perfect eggs everytime with no effort!

Oh-- it's kind of cute, too.

5-0 out of 5 stars EGGtraordinary Performer - - Very compact
Despite the negative reviews posted, I ordered this egg cooker. This little gem is great, and performs just as described (if you read the instructions first). Use this once and you'll find any measuring references you made need in the future are as easy as looking at the embosed pictures on the water beaker. As far as not having all sorts of adjustments, who needs them ? Your just cooking an egg! An On and off switch is fine with me. I suppose the manufacturer could have added a bunch of extras, but all this would do is increase the price, and increase the odds of having a part fail. The buzzer sounds loud enough to let you know to tend to your heat producing, electric appliance. Obviously the manufacturer placed it's concern for my safety before my comfort level with the buzzers sound level, a much appreciated feature. If this buzzer upsets you to the point of nervous shaking,(as a few reviewers reported), I think you may need something more than a hard boiled egg, lol. I was surprised with all the gripes, that no one complained that it didn't peel the egg for them. The Egghead is very compact, truly an appliance that won't gobble up your precious counter space. Its round shape is about the size of cantaloupe melon and rests on three small feet that keep it very steady. It's attached power cord is a generous 36 inches long. As for the under twenty dollar price that Amazon sells this for, how can you go wrong? Go ahead and order one, it's unique, convenient, and fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect eggs every time...
Oh, this toastmaster egg cooker works great.. Easy clean up... I read the reviews and everyone say it has a loud buzzer... Well, mine is not loud... It does not startle me.... no way does the buzzer compare to a fire alarm... If you want perfect eggs, I suggest you buy this item... you won't be sorry....

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Perfect Eggs on First Try
Egg head is fantastic! On my first try, my eggs were the most perfectly boiled eggs I've ever seen. No cracking or discolored green yolks. It's easy. As far as it not turning itself off, I would think the eggs would continue to cook. That's why you run them under water, to stop the cooking process, not just to cool them for peeling! I've read some complaints about the poached eggs being shaped like eyes. I think it's a pretty cool shape. The buzzer is loud, but I found that useful too. I love mine and hope it lasts well. I would buy this for anyone who loves boiled eggs without the hassel. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars AWFUL
I agree with everything other reviewers have said about this machine. It is loud, doesn't pop much popcorn, and shoots out hot kernals and the popcorn it does pop everywhere. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS! Like the others, I wish I could give it zero stars. It should be recalled by the company. I would recommend looking at the West Bend Stir Crazy 6-quart Popcorn Popper instead.

2-0 out of 5 stars Inferior product
I just returned this product to the store, after a month of use. It only popped about 40% of the kernels, leaving great numbers of the unpopped kernels in the collection bowl as well as on the floor. If I did not want to waste 60% of the kernels, I had to collect all the unpopped ones after the first round was over and then put them in again.

1-0 out of 5 stars Wear long sleeve shirt!!!
I wore a polo shirt while making my first batch. As noted by all those potential zero star reviews, my machine started to throw popcorn, popped and unpopped, everywhere. One extremly hot kernal shot up my elbow and gave me a severe burn. It took two weeks to heal! I reread the instructions and made another batch...from a safe distance away. Failed again! I no longer own this unit.

I've decided to take another chance on a hot air popper and bought the Presto PopLite Hot Air Popper. SUCCESS!!! I can pop corn without the need for OSHA approved uniform.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible popping machine from hell
At first I thought I was using this thing wrong, or maybe I bought bad kernels, but after reading the other reviews I realize this thing is just a piece of junk. It popped only half my kernels (if that) while shooting everything out at high speeds. I tried holding a paper towel over the exit chute like a matador facing off against a charging bull, but to no use. Those hot kernels come shooting out like bullets. Whatever popcorn winds up in your bowl gets blasted out creating a huge mess.

Also, the popped corn is chewy and disgusting. Are there any popcorn makers that create real movie theatre popcorn without the huge mess?

1-0 out of 5 stars Pops half the corn you put in and makes a huge mess
You will laugh in your kitchen watching in disbelief as this "popcorn popper" attempts to do its job.

This is the only air popper sold at Target so I bought it, even after reading these reviews, not believing how impossibly inadequate the product would end up being. It should be taken off the market. I am going back to Target for a refund. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Adjustable for slicing cheese, sandwich meats, roast beef, bacon, bread, and vegetables like tomatoes and zucchini from wafer-thinto extra-thick, this compact, 90-watt electric appliance makes itpossible to slice unlimited quantities of food quickly, safely, anduniformly. For safety, the slicer requires two hands to operate, onepushing food into the 6-1/2-inch stainless-steel blade by means of asliding platform and the other continuously pressing a button so theblade operates. The sliding platform has a guard to prevent hands fromgetting close to the blade and a rail for grasping and pushing. Atransparent plastic food press attaches to the feeder's rail with ahook. Grasping that hook and the rail simultaneously allows one-handoperation while also pressing food toward the blade. The food press'sface is covered with points that grip food securely.

Included with the unit is a 9-by-8-1/4-inch transparent plastic servingtray. The sliding platform, food press, and blade remove for handwashing. Ruggedly constructed of cast aluminum, the slicer measures13-1/2 inches wide, 9-1/4 inches high, and 8-1/2 inches deep andcarries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars plastic parts
Toastmaster slicer worked beautifully until the plastic adjustment knob broke. No replacement part was available from the manufacturer. This makes the product useless

1-0 out of 5 stars Not even worth it!
I was looking for a light duty food (i.e. meat/cheese) slicer, and decided to give this "inexpensive" product a try. The "inexpensive" turned out to be plain ol' [not good]. Motor is very weak, and tends to shuts off after few minutes of regular use (when I got it, the motor housing seemed so small that I had my doubts). Another major problem is the thickness adjuster. It does not matter what setting you choose, it does not hold it. It just moves with applied pressure. A third problem is the safety button, I found out that it really needs two hands to press and hold down the two buttons (the On and the safety buttons).

Simply, after the first use, I decided to no longer own this product. I will to continue to search for a better one, and I expect to pay more for a real solid light duty slicer. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars All I want for Xmas is my Toastmaster Chopster.
Actually I'm talking about my dad here, he recently had several teeth removed, and didn't want to face the dentist for a while. He has some upper dentures, but he doesn't feel comfortable using them. For Christmas, I told him I was gonna get him one of these choppers. Now, I looked at those things they advertise of TV all the time, they sell for sixty bucks or more, but I didn't see that they were worth the money. There are a lot of good small choppers out there, they perform pretty well until the blades break off the plastic rotors. You can hardly expect a titanium rotor for under fifteen dollars.

I figured at the price of this "Chopster" thing, if it breaks anytime soon, I can just buy a few more. When my dad opened it up for Christmas, he was surprised at how sturdy the thing was. Simple too, you put on the chopping cup, then fill it with what you want chopped up. The last step is to put on the lid, and push the big button. It's a plug-in device not a battery powered one, so it has good power. My dad likes, and uses it all the time. I just got him a Subway sub the other day, and my dad was able to chop his up the way he wanted, and eat it with a spoon.

Just by looking at the picture, I think you can see that it's easy to clean. The chopping cup comes off easily, and it can be rinsed off in the sink, or even put in the dishwasher if you so desire. I'd consider taking it out before the drying cycle, even though it says its dishwasher safe, heating elements may warp it. I've used the Chopster myself a few times, and it works great. If you put in mixed items, like my dads sub sandwich, the lighter stuff like the bread, sometimes just stays on top. If you break it down a little, it chops up fine. While I think this is a pretty good machine, I wouldn't recommend it for heavy use like chopping frozen foods, or cracking ice. Like I mentioned earlier, these plastic choppers are good until they break. The Chopster is for convenience, its not meant to replace a blender or food processor.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
The size of this chopper is great. I didn't have the money for a big food processor and I really don't need a big one, so this one was idea. Other Toastmaster products tend to be made cheaply, but this is awesome. I even recommended it to my boss who bought one for the assisted living home we work at to chop up food for the residents who have trouble chewing. This item is great. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Hot grinds and hot coffee spewin' action!
Well, I can't say that I didn't like this thing at first. It came with a little scoopy to dig out your coffee beans and grinds. At first it seems like a nice little unit. I poured a pot of water into it in order to do away with any oils left over from manufacturing. I say you should run 3 pots of water through it before use (filterless of course). After a few uses, I noticed that the carafe does spill out onto the counter if you do not pour slowly. If you want your coffee now and have no time to pour, don't get this item. After having this machine for 3 weeks now, and using it constantly every morning, I have finally decided that it is near total crap. I just made a pot of coffee this morning when the machine decided it would spurt some hot air & water which caused the grinds blow all over the place. Spilling out of the top onto the carafe and drooling hot coffee and grinds all over the counter. How nice. If you're going to buy a cheap coffee maker, spend the extra 5 or 6 dollars and get a semi-decent one. Toastmaster should stick to toasting. If you do decided to get this, buy some towels and a mop as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!
For anyone on the go or who wants a good cup of coffee. This coffee maker is easy to use and you can't beat the price. I use it every day and it works great. No complaints on my end.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not a bad coffee maker for the price!
I have had my coffee maker for over 5 months, bought it when they were on sale, and for the price it's great. I had a fancy digital coffee maker before and the coffee tastes the same in this one as it did in my more expensive one. Buy better coffee, get better tasting coffee, Maxwell House will taste like Maxwell house in any coffee maker!

The only drawback is the cone shaped filers as I prefer the flatter basket ones, but other than that it is a sturdy little machine.

1-0 out of 5 stars Below average coffee maker
This coffee maker is cheap and makes poor below average tasting coffee. Mine does not leak. The main problem is that it does not get hot enough. I like my coffee hot and the coffee I get in the pot is what I would call very warm but not hot. The search for a decent drip coffee maker continues.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Product for the Money
I disagree with earlier comments that the carafe leaks. Water does seep out the edges if you pour very rapidly, such as when putting water into the machine, but if you do so a bit more slowly there are no spills whatsoever. Also I haven't had any problem with the filter overfilling, or swinging out while removing the pot. The water heats to a good temperature and the taste of the coffee is fine.

I'm not sure how well it will hold up over time, but so far so good. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars If it sounds to good to be true....
I had looked in stores and online for the best deal possible on an under cabinet can opener.
I had checked other opinion sites but I should have checked here first because I would never have purchased this can opener had I read the two other negative reviews.
The two other reviews are right on the mark!
The second can (average size can of corn) I opened the little magnet popped off with the lid of the can going inside the can of corn.
I figured it was no big deal as I had some super-duper glue that would surely secure the magnet back in it's place.
The next day and with the glue dried I tried opening a small can of cat food.
The can opener sounded like it was grunting as it opened a quarter of an inch of the can. I tried placing the can in a new position and again the opener grunted and opened another quarter of an inch. I opened the cat food can a quarter of an inch at a time until I could get the lid open enough to slide a butter knife underneath and wiggle the lid back and forth until the final piece of metal lid broke free of the can.
Opening a can of cat food should not take three and a half minutes with an electric can opener!
I've never been so disappointed in a brand name as I am with this can opener.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy
This is the worst can opener ever. The magnet is not strong enough to hold heavier cans, i.e. refried beans (normal size can), so it drops them and they spill all over your counter. And the handle is designed such that you can't see it cutting the can so it's difficult to use if you don't want to cut the entire lid and have it fall into the can. Now shopping for a replacement. $14.99 wasted.

1-0 out of 5 stars Regret buying it...
Thought this would be a great way to "hide" the can opener since it claimed it folded out of sight. It does but you have to unscrew the holder it's in, flip it back and tighten it and it doesn't seem strong enough to hold it. Then when you do fold it down, it doesn't come down completely straight so any can with liquid or juice will likely come spilling out because the can is slanted (unless you hold it straight while the can is opening). Now the blade is starting to not even go into the cans and you have to force it and we've only had it for just over 3 months. For lack of a better description...piece of crap.

1-0 out of 5 stars tricky switch/short blade
Price was a factor in buying, but I wanted mostly for slicing bread machine bread. The bit at the end of the blades get hung up in my Presto slicing guide as the blades are too short; further, the switch is extremely temperamental and only works if you move your thumb around a lot. I'd return it, if the postage, packaging and trip to post office were worth it + trying to dig up original cash receipt! These people do NOT want return business! 1-0 out of 5 stars you get what you pay for
Do yourself a favor and spend the extra on a can opener that will work. Very frustrating, opened one can before something clicked inside then locked. This is not the only time I've been burned by this brand. One star is giving too much.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother...
I purchased this can opener to replace an old Krups Open Master. I thought I would save a few dollars and try the Toastmaster. Unfortunately this opener is loud, slow, and does a poor job of opening cans. I recommending spending a bit more money on a better unit. I'll be purchasing another Krups Open Master.

1-0 out of 5 stars Really poor
Lasted all of four days before it went in the garbage! Very cheaply made. Blade would not punch through most cans. When it did, moved at a snail's pace. Going to buy another Krups handheld. My first one lasted five years.

4-0 out of 5 stars Serves its purpose
When the time came to shop for a new can opener, I was really interested in B&D's Gizmo, but it didn't receive the reviews I was hoping for so I decided to keep looking. I was looking for something that didn't clutter my countertop and saw everything from $3.00 cheap ones to $300 commercial can openers. I think in every product in which I read reviews there were complaints that after a period of time the can opener didn't cut as easily nor work as well as it did in the beginning. This is true of all can openers (metal on metal cutting will cause the blade to get dull), so I decided on this can opener because it will cut any size can, I can store it away, it's electric alleviating any dead battery concerns, and most of all it's low-priced. I figured if the expensive ones were going to experience the same troubles, I might as well save some money. So far, I have not been disappointed with this can opener. Did I figgit around trying to open the first can? Sure I did, but I would do this with any electric can opener trying to figure it out. I like the fact that the cord on this is coiled so that I don't have 3 feet of cord to handle every time I use it and I like the fact that the magnet that holds the can flips up to narrow the can opener for easier storage.

The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's still too fat to store in my drawer as I originally wanted, but I just store it now in my appliance caddy on my countertop and it doesn't take up much room. I'm a practical person in the kitchen. I don't need top-of-the-line products; I don't necessarily feel paying more always gets more and is goint to last longer, and I don't feel that any slight inconveniences negate the entire quality of the product.

If you're like me and figure that in 5-7 years you're going to have to replace the can opener anyway (nothing lasts anymore!), then save yourself some money and buy this one. It serves its purpose and it's inexpensive too. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great deal for the price
As long as the price stays cheap then it's worth it! (under $12-$13) Great little first-time juicer...my kids love juicing their own oranges. Don't be in a hurry for the juice as it juices rather slowly and all juice will be very pulpy whether you have the little plastic "catcher" set to catch pulp or not plus doesn't do the greatest job getting all the juice out. Pulp builds up fast and top 3 parts have to be constantly dumped and rinsed off..pitcher part constantly slips out of "lock" position and the whole thing flies apart when handling it but not when juicing. Has a convenient wind-in cord holder underneath. The annoyances are minor (sound worse than they actually are as it's very simple to use and easy to clean) considering you are paying so little for this cute little thing. Worth the money for the occasional, not-so-serious juicer.

5-0 out of 5 stars well done, toastmaster!
well-designed, lots of little thoughts you would not have guessed would appear in an appliance: a place to wrap the cord underneath, a nook to hold the cord tight so it doesn't unravel, the beautiful curves of the shape, itself, easily cleanable, strong motor, flexible plastic. and then there is the price.

the only things they could have done better on this little package are:

1) the little rubber feet tend to pop out while juicing. (that's okay, they don't do much anyway. makes it easy to clean that area, anyway :P )

2) even with the little rubber feet (which are shaped like suction cups on the bottom), the juicer still slips around on my counter while juicing. (juicing can get messy if you do a lot, and after a while, you've got juice on the counter, and then even with the rubber suction feet, juicer still slips around). sometimes i put it on my large cutting board to stop from slipping/rotating while juicing.

alternatively, it might be nice if there were a way to select that you want the grinder motor to turn only in one direction or the other (instead of both, which it does randomly: this is a nice feature, but would be nice to turn it off, so you could bolster the handle up against something else (like microwave oven, etc.) so that juicer would not slip on counter. but if the motor turns in opposite direction every other time, you can't do this becuase juicer will slip and turn in the other direction.

overall the best quality-to-price value ratio i've seen in an appliance in years. i thought when i bought it, "oh, heck, for the money i paid for it, if it breaks, i can just replace it wtih a new one," thinking something that cheap would break within a few months. it's been over a year, and still going strong.. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Works well but noisy
I have had this can opener for a few weeks now. It works well and I like that you can store the cord inside it. I have two complaints about it though..the little thingy on top that comes down to open the can falls off easily...not when the can opener is upright or working but if you pick up the can opener, it sometimes falls off; and this can opener is surprisingly noisy. Despite these complaints, I feel this can opener is worth the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Convenient
This is a very nice and affordable can opener. It is small enough to tuck out of the way when it's not in use, which is great for a small kitchen. Since it is tall, you can even open the 'family size' cans.

**TIP**
Still keep a hand can opener around if the power is out. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Wake up to fresh bread! The handy timer on this automatic bread maker lets you preprogram up to 13 hours in advance. The Toastmaster Bread Box offers eight settings, including programs for whole wheat, sweet, and French breads. Use the Fast Bake setting to make fresh bread in under one hour. The program for sweet bread cues you when it's time to add additional ingredients for special recipes, and the Dough program kneads dough for baking in a conventional oven--handy for making pizza, coffee cake, pretzels, and bagels. You can also choose between light, medium, and dark crusts for basic breads.

The machine keeps bread warm for three hours after baking. The nonstick loaf pan releases fresh bread and cleans up easily. The instruction booklet includes recipes for everything from white bread and focaccia dough to gluten-free breads. --Matthew Evans ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Best little bread maker ever
If you don't mind the horizonal shape, this machine does it all. It's very simple to use. Regardless of the type of bread you are making, there are only 2 buttons to push to start the process, 3 if you want to delay the start time. The only drawback is the cooldown time between loafs. I have found you can make 2 loafs back-to-back, but it needs to rest (about 30 minutes) before making a 3rd. It's the next best tasting to the honest labor of love effort.

5-0 out of 5 stars I have two of this machine!
I used to have really expensive Panasonic bread maker(model SD_-YD 250), but after 1 year of use it stopped working completely Soo.. I bought this toastmaster breadmaker almost 1 year ago. I didn't expect this less expensive breadmaker was going to be my favorite kitchen machine. The best thing of this machine is definetely 3 things. 1. price 2. durability 3. simplicity. Since I bought this machine I am using everyday for my 3 kids and bread loving husband. Last week we decided to buy the same machine as 2nd bread maker( I have 2 of this breadmaker now!) since I can't keep up with my family guys' eating bread speed. Almost everyday I make 2 kinds of bread!
This machine is defenetely worth your money.

4-0 out of 5 stars Price-worthy, with a few "gotchas"
This is a very adequate breadmaker, with a price point that is excellent for the features offered.

Pros:
1. Programs like sweet, whole wheat, French, fast, and selector for bread loaf size.

2. "Horizontal" shape--well, this is a tall horizontal but it is better than the bucket-o-bread size of the original breadmakers.

3. Non stick pan. It really does release.

4. Signal for adding fruit.

5. Holds bread on warm.

Cons:

1. I think the temperature of the rise phase is a bit too hot, in my opinion.

2. It's twitchy: you really MUST MUST follow the recipes they give in the book until you are totally familiar with how dough should appear in this maker. It is NOT forgiving of too much liquid or too little. I have had loaves from mix turn out misshapen, with fallen tops. The given recipes are very good, however, and they absolutely do work.

3. The top rim on the side lid of my unit fractured, not affecting performance, but it did indicate this is not sturdy plastic. Be careful.

4. The paddle has a tendency to stick into the bread. Make sure you pull it out with a pliers after baking or risk watching your mate try to saw through it with your good bread knife until you stop him or her in a panic.

5. This is not infinitely programmable in multiple ways such as the very expensive machines, but it does offer enough programs to find one that ought to work for what you are baking.

On the whole, this breadmaker delivers good performance at a reasonable price.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 2nd Toastmaster Bread Machine
This is my SECOND Toastmaster Bread machine...and I didn't wear out the first one, I gave it away! My husband, who loves fresh bread, bought an earlier model when he realized I wanted a bread machine (guys, DON'T give appliances as gifts to your wives!) and gave it to me as a gift. AFTER I got over being angry, I was impressed with how much the the first model could do.

When I saw this model, I looked at it, and realized it was better suited to my needs than the first -- so I have it now.... and a friend of mine is happy with the older model, which is still running strong, three years later!

4-0 out of 5 stars Toastmaster phone support is great.
I was surprised to see a negative review here about Toastmaster support. When I got mine, I had a bit of trouble removing the pan the first time, and being afraid of damaging it, I called the support number and was helped by a very friendly and knowledgeable person. He told me to give it a good and careful but hard yank, and if it bent it, he'd send me another pan for free. Well, it came right out, and after baking a few loaves the tight fit loosened and is now fine. He also answered a number of my questions about using the machine. I was very impressed with all of this free help for a new customer.

The only thing I don't like about my particular model, the Bread Box Plus TBR2, is the LCD is blurry and sometimes hard to read unless you view it at just the right angle. Other than that, it's a great appliance, and I bake at least twice a week. As with the microwave oven, I don't know how we ever lived without it. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good While It Lasted
I purchased my Toastmaster 1750 Preppy Food Prep System about 3 months ago. It was a great kitchen tool. We used it to chop onions, tomatoes, mix guacamole and gravies, and other items. One day, when making tacos, I attempted to grate cheese (This is on page 11 of the instruction manual). Unfortunately, one of the plastic flanges on top of the blade broke, rendering it useless. I contacted Toastmaster via their 800 number and was told that they couldn't find the replacement part (#70590) and would ship one if they found it. We have yet to hear from them or receive a replacement blade. I believed it was an excellent product. If it breaks like mine did, I guess you're out of luck. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Spectacular Snackster!
The snackster is the best appliance in my kitchen. It makes incredibly tasty snacks. I eat grilled cheese sandwichs and french toast and jam filled pockets and tomato filled pockets. I could eat from the snackster everyday for the rest of my life. The non stick qualities of the snackster make it so easy to clean. The snackster is simple to use and all of my friends think that I am an awesome cook when they eat my snackster treats! I recommend the snackster to everyone!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but doesn't last long
This is not a bad little sandwich maker. The pockets are narrow so the fillings do squeeze out the side. It is easy to clean. Unfortunately, it is not very long-lasting. One of the plastic light covers came off about 3 days after I purchased it. The other one popped off about one month later. I have had it for about 5 months now and the cord apparently has shorted out. I have to wiggle it for five minutes before I can get the sandwich maker to turn on. Since my kids are hooked on the grilled cheese sandwiches I make in it, I will be heading out to buy another sandwich maker. I just don't think it will be this brand again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best Cheese Toasties!
This thing makes the best cheese toasties ever! I just spray both sides with non-stick cooking spray after it warms up. Then, I put the bread on, cheese, then another slice of bread. About 4-5 minutes later, I have a tasty cheese toasty!

Cleaning this thing isn't too bad. You just have to wait for it to cool off. I usually let it set, unplugged, for at least an hour because I clean it. A dish scrub brush works MUCH better than a dish cloth.

Storage is pretty simple. Close it, then what I do is wrap the cord around the handle. You can stand it up, which is a good feature it you have limited kitchen storage space.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cheap and worth it.
I bought this a year ago and love it. It's easy to make sandwiches and they taste good. I also tend to make pancakes in it too as well as quesadillas.

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent, helpful and inexpensive litle machine
I got this a few months ago after wanting one for years. I thought it was going to be another usless thing i would have to store somewhere in my kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised at how helpful i have found it!

It works best on *full* sandwhiches so that there is good contact between the upper and lower plates. The unit automatically cuts and seals each of the 2 full sandwhiches into 2 pieces. (if you turn the sandwhich when its almost done you can make 4 pieces). I tend to use regular to thick style slices of bread. You can cook with tortilla, pitas etc but the result tends to be the best with bread.

The best sandwiches i have made were a combo of meat and cheese with butter or margarine spread on the outside. I hear mayo is a good thing to spread on the outside as well... To reduce the fat, i just give it a extra large coating of non-stick spray altho the results arent quite as yummy.

There are some recipes that come with the unit and some alternative uses to sandwiches.. muffin mix, cake mix... pancake mix..etc. I have found that pancake batter works great altho i use at least twice as much as they suggest to get the best result. I havent had all that much luck with the cake mix/muffin mix thing. I find the outside is pretty stiff (almost a crust feeling) and can have a burned scent or flavor. I have also tried scrambled eggs but they seem a bit rubbery to me (like microwaved eggs) altho i am thinking as a mixed omelet with cheese this might be better.

Food cooks pretty quickly and clean up is easy despite the fact that you cant remove the grill plates. I have found i use this much more than i thought. I would reccomend buying a sandwich maker cookbook with it... it would be much more helpful than just the recipe insert that comes with unit. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I WON'T EVEN USE IT!
I got this coffee pot on a great deal during the "Day After Thanksgiving Day Sale". My previous pot had broken, and I just needed coffee, nothing fancy. When I got home I took it out of the box, everything looked fine, but the stupid "easy swing" basket did NOT easily swing. The basket had to be forced open, and then forced shut again. Deciding I was NOT going to put up with this every morning, (cause it would probably break in a week) I returned it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome.
I bought this machine for a clearance price at Target. I wasn't expecting much for the price, but the machine works flawlessly. No problems with the auto-drip stopping when I removed the pot. The swing out basket is easy to remove and clean. Overall a great product for a low cost. ... Read more
