4-0 out of 5 stars THE KIDS LOVE IT!
We're a family of six (6) and we are avid Disney go-ers.This is our first Disney appliance and the kids love it!Everytime they use it they think of Mickey and Disneyland, they ask us to take them to theme park.

The 5 toast option feature works well. Also like off and on option of the musical instrumental song after the toast pops up.

Not a 5 star rating from me as it's hit or miss on the Mickey logo when toasting. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Yey Mickey!
What a way to start the day! We've had it for a year and still going strong. Makes great toast too.

1-0 out of 5 stars Annoying and broke quickly
I received this toaster as a gift. The "cute" musical tune became very annoying very quickly. There was no way to turn it off and even when you canceled the toasting it still sang the tune. Sometimes out of key. After a month or two of using it, I noticed the body of the toaster began to separate from the ends. I considered this a danger since the metal was warping and I tossed it. ... Amazon.com Review

This is not a toaster, this is laboratory equipment! Although this toaster takes up a sizable chunk of counter space, it's worth the sacrifice just to watch it work. The stainless-steel "classic" is reminiscent of a time before microchips: big slots, big handles, big toast! The slots self-adjust to the thickness of the bread or bagel, and each pair of slots has its own controls and power switch to save energy. No more turning the toaster upside-down to shake out the crumbs either: This model has slide-out trays for easy crumb removal. If you're into industrial-size toast, take this model for a spin. --Shannon Borg

Editor's Choice: Villaware's Uno Classic four-slice toaster is our choice for the best toaster over $75. Though large, its elegant stainless-steel exterior, highlighted by black plastic knobs, almost demands to be displayed on the counter. But looks, of course, aren't the bottom line with a toaster (or any appliance). Luckily, this machine has great functionality: four wide slots (1-1/4 inch) with separate controls for each pair, five levels of browning, and a defrost setting. ... Read more

  • Slide-out crumb trays for easy cleaning
  • Four extra-wide toasting slots accommodate most bread and bagel slices
  • Self-adjusting slots for even browning

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality and Flaky Company
The left side stopped working slightly less than a year old (one year warranty). I have submitted numerous emails to the company and get an automatic reply that says no text was included in the email. I think this is a bogus company.

2-0 out of 5 stars Pretty but pretty flawed
It has plenty of wattage and a sort of utilitarian beauty to it, but it has a few problems. I opened up the box and found a screw at the bottom and couldn't find the place where it had fallen from (suggesting that their quality control could be improved). The toasting was also quite uneven for such an expensive appliance that takes quite a bit of counter space. I think Villaware could make a product that has a bit more robust construction given its solid heft and size. Disappointing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Toaster!
We received this toaster as a wedding present. That was two years ago - of being used at least once a day, sometimes twice...and all I can say is that it is the best toaster I've ever owned. I've read the negative reviews and I can't believe that they are speaking about the same toaster. If quality control is an issue - all I can say is when they get it right, they get it REALLY RIGHT! Oh. We purchased ours from Restoration Hardware - don't know if that makes a difference or not. Amazon's price is about $30 less...

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Dissapointed
I have this toaster in the 2 slice version. I was so excited to get this toaster, my first "Good" toaster, and what a great look. Well, within just a few months of VERY light use, the heating element burned out, and the handles wouldn't stay down. the darn thing just stopped turning on, and turned itself into an over priced, over spacey paperweight. I am SO unhappy with it -- I will never buy ANY other Villaware product, period.

1-0 out of 5 stars Total Dud
The first one I received didn't work and had to be returned. Total hassle. The second one stopped working after about 18 months. Total rip-off. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Finally, a toaster that accepts a sliced bagel without getting it stuck. And not only that, the Uno Classic Toaster has a self-adjusting mechanism that automatically centers bread or bagels for even toasting. This toaster features a power switch that must be turned on in order to depress the lift control--no more slapping in a couple of slices only to come back later and find that you forgot to plug in the toaster. With five settings and a defrost option to chose from, you can have toast pale or extra-brown. --Dana Van Nest ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Villaware 5825 Uno Classic 2-slice Toaster
I ordered this item, and loved it at first (for a couple of weeks) until it broke down, only one side of the toast got toasted. Something happened to the spacer/lifting mechanism and it pushed the slice of toast to one side instead of being in the center of the slot. It was a bit bulky in size on my kitchen cabinet. I wouldn't recommend anybody purchasing this toaster. I recently purchased a wonderful toaster from the Betty Crocker catalogue made in Canada, all stainless steel, absolutely beautiful, just the right size, and it performs three features more than the Villaware did. I thought the Villaware toaster was overpriced. Joanne Evens, Granite Bay, CA

1-0 out of 5 stars A toaster almost as big as a Volkswagon
a couple of years ago I purchased from Amazon a Villaware 4 slice toaster. It was costly as I recall so I expected it to actually toast fast and accurately. However, when it was delivered I realized it was bigger by far than a bread machine and found to my dismay that it takes about twice as long to toast bread than the ten dollar toaster it replaced. If I had purchased it at a local store, I would definitely have returned it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Finicky Toast
This toaster toasts somewhat unevenly and, unless you enjoy charcoal at breakfast, only a portion of the settings are useable. The other drawback with this toaster is that you'll have to get FAA clearance over for the trajectory that your toasted bread will take over your kitchen. I actually LOST a piece of toast behind my fridge for several minutes. It does look good, though, and I'm just waiting for the springs to wear out a little...

2-0 out of 5 stars A good toaster for little bread.
Medium to large slices of bread stick partially out of the toaster, and of course the part that sticks out doesn't get toasted. The sides don't get evenly toasted. Turning the bread slice over to even the toasting results in charcoal.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toaster Good looking toaster
Just wanted to make a note for those that screen purchases based one these review pages that I think this is a great toaster. I have had it for several months now and use it daily. I have had no problems with it, and love the defrost feature and the rapid toasting of the product due to its wattage. It's easy to clean with the pull out drawer and shines up easily with a soft cloth in the regular course of cleaning. I believe it would burn baked goods at higher settings, but am happy with toast at level 3. Not sure why so many had such problems. ... Read more
