Amazon.com Review

This appealing blender looks great, with a rounded triangularshape that marries form and function. It pours perfectly and cleansbeautifully, but what we noticed first was the terrific grip on thehandle: firm and comfortable, like a great handshake. The lid is alsowell designed, sealing easily and snugly, with tiny rubber tipsattached on three sides to facilitate a smooth release and opening. This blender packs a lot of power, puréeing in seconds andturning eggs and oil into mayonnaise in fewer than two minutes. Fivespeeds let you whip up everything from chunky salsa to velvety soups;there's also a pulse mode when you need an extra surge to add solids orgive something one last stir. As a bonus, this blender looks great onthe counter or stores easily in two parts in the cupboard. --C.Whitney-Ward

Editor's Choice:Braun's PowerMax blender is an ideal firstblender--not too expensive and still heavy-duty enough for manyblending tasks--and is our pick for best blender under $50. It has fivespeed settings and a pulse feature. The blades are made of stainlesssteel, which makes them strong enough to crush ice (don't pack the icetoo tight, though), and they remove easily for cleaning. The blades, jug, and lid go in the dishwasher, while you wipe the base by hand witha damp towel. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Rated the Number One Blender by Consumer Reports
I bought this blender because of the review it got in Consumers Reports Magazine, an unbiased point of view. We use it everyday to make smoothies and baby food and couldn't be happier with the product. I received the product without the lid when I ordered from Amazon so I contacted Braun as Amazon suggested and the lid was delivered that week.

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent blender
I know there are others out there like me: when I want to buy something, I want to buy the best. Naturally, I go for the top of the line. That usually means paying more for better quality. My reasoning is to spend a little more and I won't have to buy another one for years to come.

I'd been meaning to buy a blender for sometime now. After some hunting through the most well-known "consumer reporting" magazine, I discovered that this $50 blender, mixed, chopped and crushed ice better than models that were EIGHT times as much. This model is the best I've ever used.

Ice crushing was the key factor in the purchase. This baby crushes it in a few quick pulses. Frozen drinks are ready in less than 30 seconds. I use mine for protein shakes and it's a snap to clean. The key is cleaning it immediately.

I must stress that you can't find a better value for your money. This blender is amazing!

1-0 out of 5 stars So many problems!!!!
I know I can always rely on Amazon reviews to be correct and concise. I wish i'd read reviews on this blender before we bought it at Sam's club. Within weeks of buying the blender all the plastic pieces broke off! There was much blame going on in my home....now I see that quite a few people who bought the Power Max had the SAME exact problem!!!! I called Braun today and I expect to receive my free replacement part within 2 weeks. I hope that the blender works though I have my doubts. I will think twice before buying another Braun product!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Customer Service?
I do not own this blender.

A few weeks ago, I sent an email to Braun asking if the blade gear teeth issue had been remedied, as I was interested in the blender only if so. I forgot about it, not receiving a reply. Today a box is on my doorstep, and what is inside? A blade assembly! To a blender I do not own! lol

Still no answer to my email.

2-0 out of 5 stars Excellent blender... for 4 months ONLY
I can't deny that the blender was very good WHILE IT WORKED. However, after 4 months using it the motor burned!! Smoke came from the bottom of the blender. I send it straight to the trash. Not recommended. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

This multipurpose tool created a stir in the kitchen when it came out, as the food processor did a generation earlier. In order to blend, whip, and chop smaller amounts of ingredients, it's no longer necessary to wrestle with bulky appliances. Immerse the 7-1/2-inch blender shaft, with its little blade on the end, into a pot where vegetables have been simmering, press the switch, and in seconds a creamy soup appears--with no need to dump everything into a big blender. Blend sauces and baby foods in their cooking pots, too. Blend a milk shake or juice drink right in its drinking container, or in the 2-1/2-cup beaker included in this set. Whipping cream and egg whites is just as convenient: a 5-inch whisk attaches to the motor when the blender is removed. For chopping nuts, herbs, garlic, or onions, there's a 2-cup chopper bowl with a special blade. The motor with the attached blender shaft can be mounted on a wall (mount included). Everything but the motor and the chopper-bowl top (both should be wiped with a damp cloth) can go into the dishwasher. This tool is more than handy, it's a revolution. The instruction sheet, unfortunately, is harder to comprehend than the tool is to use. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a Godsend!
No, I'm not kidding. This handy little guy has saved me counter space, time and cleaning up. I am able to make cakes, muffins, great tasting pure fruit juices in an instant. I thought that this little gadget wouldn't be able to live up to its promise, but it's proved me wrong. I bought it out of desperation, after my Moulinex broke down. The first thought in my head was "what about counter space?" Well, Mr. Braun made sure he left nothing out. Because of his great mind, the device comes with a wall mounting so you don't have to clutter your counter with clumsy top-heavy things.

I read in a review for this product that it doesn't last. What could possibly be wrong with this when you need to chop something really fast? Like any normal person, I use the device, clean it and put it away. Simple as that! You can even go as far as using it and putting it back in the box. That is what I did up til the time the wall mount was set up.

Now I can watch my weight, drink homemade milkshakes, and chop away at those tear jerking onions without shedding a single tear.
And, when I'm done, I just rinse everything in the sink and clip it back onto the wall til the next time.
No more fuss having to make the perfect omelet either. With the handy wire whisk, you'll have a nice fluffy omelet in no time.

Watch out for how much pressure you apply to the speed accelerator button, because you may find your cake mix blending in pretty well with the paint on your wall. In that case, avoid using a shallow bowl. Use a deeper mixing bowl, bigger than the size recommended for your ingredients.

Happy cooking! Hope my review helped you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Powerful gadget with no Mess!
These days it's hard to really brag about a product, especially something as silly as a blender. Well, here I am, ready to brag about it. Just received it today, and I was very impressed with its performance. I work out almost every day, and I need to be consuming about 3 large shakes a day. I use to stir about 2 cups of powder and milk for about 3-4 minutes each time I had to make a shake. Every single time, since the shake had to be super thick, I'd get nasty big CLUMPS all over, it was a disaster and something I never looked forward to. This gadget, however, is a gift sent from god I tell ya! Less than 10 seconds ( no exaggeration) and the thing just turned into liquid, CLUMPFREE, it tasted so damn good. BUT, yes there's a BUT... the BEST part was that it only took another fifteen seconds to clean!... Cleaning blenders three times a day everyday could be a nightmare, but with this gadget it's a beautiful thing. If you need a blender everyday this is for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Detachable system works the best
I've had a Braun one-piece hand blender for about 12-15 years that has worked very well. My wife saw this model somewhere and bought it for me for one simple reason: I was always complaining about the non-detachable model being dangerous if you left it pluged in.

Since the blades are exposed, any pressing of the button will chop anything in its path, and that includes fingers. Now, with the new model, it can stay pluged in and safe, since it stays detached until use (at least in my case). Of course, none of this speaks to this thing being much easier to clean than the previous one. I detach after use, run under hot water, then place on a paper towel to dry. If I'm in a hurry, I just drop in a water-filled glass in the sink and deal with it later. It doesn't stain, even with blueberries, so there isn't a need to deal with it immediately. However, I would not recommend putting this in the dishwasher. There's no need to and the prolonged heat might damage it. That's just my suspicion. At any rate, cleaning the old one required attention to it immediately after use.

Anyway, I use this thing almost daily for protein shakes (smoothies). I'm considering a smoothie maker since I want something to make in the morning and have made for several more shakes during the day. However, even with a smoothie maker, I'll still use this Braun blender on stuff that would create a mess in the smoothie machine. For example, one shake I make with protein powder, milk, a few small ice cubes and peanut butter. I swear that tastes just like a melted Blizzard from Dairy Queen, for those of you that have had them. You would NOT want to make anything with Peanut butter in a smoothie maker or blender. With the Braun, its a snap!

2-0 out of 5 stars Trust me, it's not worth it.
I was initially very happy with this blender. I probably used it no more than twice a week for fairly low-powered jobs like making pesto and blending soup. 14 months after purchase, the motor just died, literally in mid-blend. I thought it had gotten overheated and left it for a couple of days. No luck. It was fully dead, and so was the 1-year warranty.

So I called Braun. I admit I was hoping they would offer to give me a replacement motor unit. Nope. I asked about repair, but apparently, nobody fixes things anymore. Nor do they offer recycling. What they do offer is a heavy pitch to buy a whole new Braun blender set, even if all the attachments for your old one is perfectly fine. I had to argue with them for 15 minutes before they decided that they would just let me buy a new motor unit off of them for $20.

A week later I got a box from Braun with... a whole new set of attachments. Not the motor unit. Needless to say, I'm never buying another Braun product again. If somebody wants the used attachments (whisk, chopper, blender, smoothie container), they're yours.

5-0 out of 5 stars love this!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Just buy it!
A few months ago, I started looking for a blender. It seemed like there were hundreds of them. Price wasn't the main concern, as I would gladly pay a premium price for a premium product. My main issues were that it would perform all the standard blending tasks with ease, make a great milkshake, blend eggs to make a light "Waffle House" style omlette, and most importantly (for my friends who crave Margaritas), kill ice cubes with a vengeance. When I happened upon this Black and Decker model, I was taken by the positive reviews, yet skeptical of it's ... price. Never the less, I figured that if the reviewers were making an honest effort, I couldn't justify spending three or more times as much on a machine that would do no better. I bought one. When it arrived, I saw that B&D was so proud of it that they offered a 30 day no questions asked refund if you don't think it's the best blender/ice crusher ever. It's a big blender. It has a large capacity thick glass jar, a unique knife arrangement, lots of power, a soft shatterproof top that seals tightly (with a measuring cap built in), plenty of speeds to select, and it does the job as advertised. If you need a killer blender, buy this one. Pack it with ice, and be amazed.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOOHOO!
I was the proud inheritor of my childhood Osterizer Blender and wanted nothing more than to keep that beat up thing forever. I worked against myself very hard to find a new blender to match up to it when the pitcher finally broke. The reviews here were the clincher. I ordered mine about a month ago and now I'm wondering why it took me so long to buy this! It is so much better than i thought a blender could be (the blender being the most used appliance in my kitchen...next to the teapot). Today I made hummous in less than 3 minutes! I can put a whole tray of ice in with a protein shake and it doesnt even balk! I find excuses to use it just because it works so well. One of the best features of this model is the wide base...it always sits perfectly where it should. No leaking from the gasket, simple to clean and can blend anything! YAY for a fantastic blender. If i had to point out a flaw though, i would say the lid is too tight. But hey, it will never leak and it forces me to use the handy removable center in the top to add ingredients.

5-0 out of 5 stars best buy
I have had this blender for almost two years now and have had no problems. It is plenty powerful for mixing anything you need and the rubber feet keep it still. I bought this blender because it had a glass jar instead of a plastic one which can stain over time. Mine has never leaked and the top fits nice and tight. I do wish it had a longer cord though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great buy
I've had this blender for about 2 months. I love it. My son got into drinking smoothies and my 20 year old blender couldn't handle the ice. This blender does a great job! I see that some other reviewers have said that theirs leaks, I have not had that problem at all.

It makes great smoothies and shakes and no leaks at all. I also love the "fast clean" setting. I rinse it out a bit, put a drop of soap in it and then hit the fast clean button for a few seconds. Then its rinse and done. I'm really enjoying this blender.

2-0 out of 5 stars Leaking issue, watch out!
Just as posted by others, the bottom under the glass portion leaks.
Warranty is out 2 days ago, now have to pay for parts and shipping, very disappointing! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Problems with New Blender
Update as of 2/24/2004 - Amazon.com ROCKS !!

I wrote Amazon about the problem I had with the first blender I had delivered, and they sent another one no questions asked. The new one works beautifully!! I'm making fruit smoothies, and protein drinks for my workouts every day now. It crushes ice like a dream and no leaks. It is very powerful, what a great value for the money I paid. I would give the blender and Amazon 6 stars, but the rating listbox doesn't go that high. Thanks Amazon and Cuisinart!! :-D (Happy Camper in Atlanta)
----------------------------------------------
I purchased the Cuisinart SmartPower blender last month, and tried to use it for the first time yesterday. I made sure the bottom was connected with the washer and blade in place. It leaks, I tried everything and it leaks. I have to call their office but their hours are during the time I'm at work. It seems like its a good strong blender, but if it leaks, its no good...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great blender
I've been using this blender for a few weeks now, and it's a pleasure to use! I make a daily smoothie using frozen fruit, which it handles with ease. I don't usually crush ice, but I did a test batch just to see if it worked well, which it did. I especially like that the base which screws onto the container is broad and shaped to match the lower part of the blender, so it is very stable in use. The one piece glass jar is easy to clean & looks better than the plastic ones some other inexpensive blenders have. The speed control is just a knob which you turn up or down as you are blending, which I find to be intuitive & easy.
It seems to be on the noisy side at top speed. I rest a hand on the top to calm it down if I'm using "high". I find that it blends everything just great at low to middle speed, so I usually just stay in that range.
--I'm adding this comment after 5 months of daily use. The blender keeps on doing what it is supposed to, day after day...

1-0 out of 5 stars Blender leaks right out of the box
I unpacked the blender, put water in the glass jar and within seconds it leaked! Upon closer examination it looks like there is a concept error with the thin plastic base on the shaft. I am going to get a Braun instead!

4-0 out of 5 stars Replacement Blades Do Not Leak
This is a continuation of a previous review:
As promised, Cusinart sent me a new blade set, and I was happy to see that it does not leak. They sent me a white colored part even though I had a black blender. Maybe the white ones don't have the leaking problem. I appreciate that Cusinart gave me no hassles with this and quickly replaced the defective blade assembly.

1-0 out of 5 stars Product malfunction out of the box!
The blender leaked out of the box... a poor trait in a *blender*. Milk was poured in for a smoothie and dribbled right out the other end, all over the counter and the base of the unit--after assembly instructions were *carefully* followed.

This "quality" product obviously isn't. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very effective
I've used my new "toy" many times since purchasing two months ago and I really like its power. It crushes whole ice cubes with no prob. It's been a great way to mix up a healthy breakfast and helps me get my 5 fruits and veggies/day. However, it is noisy when running and the metal drip plate does come off every time from vibration when blending, but it's not really a big deal. One tip...the contents pour a lot faster and easier if you open the spigget while running the machine.

2-0 out of 5 stars Leaks leaks leaks
The second time I used this to make smoothies, the spigot cracked and I had a sticky mess everywhere. Duck tape helped, but not visually appealing. Please, someone, invent a blender with a traditional blender jar and one with a smotthie dispensing one!

5-0 out of 5 stars YUMMY!
My girlfriends and I bought this blender about 4 months ago. Everytime they come over we mix up some yummy cocktails and this blender is perfect for it! I would highly reccomend it. It works great, doesn't give any weird smells (like some blenders can), and its cute. I think it's a great buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
I've had this blender for six months, and I have not had a single problem. I use it for everything- milkshakes, smoothies, frozen coctails- whatever icy cold drinks I can whip up. I like having the drip tray, and the stir stick breaks up air pockets and pushes ice down. I don't find the motor to be any louder than your average blender, and actually the motor is more powerful than my regular blender, so I use this smoothie blender more than my old one.

1-0 out of 5 stars awful

Amazon.com Review

Much smaller than your traditional blender, this handheld stick blender is compact and easy to store in a small kitchen. Additionally, it saves you the time and effort of cleaning up a blender pitcher as the Quick Prep lets you blend right in your soup pot, mixing bowl, or glass. The powerful motor has two speeds for the best blending results: low is perfect for milk shakes, pancake batter, dips, and dressings, while high works better for baby food, soups, and whipped cream. An ergonomically designed handle provides a comfortable hold for long blending jobs and the brushed chrome finish gives the blender a sleek look for a contemporary kitchen. After use, the blade end easily rinses and wipes clean and the lengthy 5-foot cord wraps around the unit for storage. The Quick Prep comes with a 2-cup plastic mixing container and a recipe booklet and is covered by a limited 18-month warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for blending, terrible for whipping cream
The blender feature of this is excellent (5 stars)... it does not splash what you are mixing out onto the counter. It is also quiet and the two speeds are great.

The down sides are:

1). It does an extremely poor job (one star) of whipping small quantities of whipping cream. Models with a separate 'whip' attachment are better suited for whipping small quantities of cream. The enclosed recipe calls for a cup, and under a cup just won't work, so technically it does exactly what it says it will. Other models with a separate whip can whip < 1/4 cup of cream easily.

2). This is one-piece tool and cannot be put in the dishwasher.

5-0 out of 5 stars Efficient and easy
This is a nifty little item! I bought it to make a quick smoothie or blended drink and it was fast and easy to use. The cup included is OK but I just use the glass I'm going to drink from. Less to wash. It struggles a bit with frozen strawberries and I think ice cubes would really dull the blade in a hurry. But for most anything else it's great. I'll use it next time I make split pea soup to help with smooth consistancy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for spot blending
Spot blending? Yes, indeed. I do quite a bit of cooking and this little appliance has really been handy. It will whip cream, in small amounts, without having to get out the stand mixer and clean all the attachments. It blends soups right on the stovetop, no more ladeling hot potato leek soup into the blender. It does not seem to do well for whipping egg whites. It quickly blends milkshakes (I haven't used it on anything completely frozen) and stores in a drawer out of the way. Rinses clean after use, and no worries about removing sharp blades to clean. Yes, this is a very nice treat to have in the kitchen, and I think it would make a great gift! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Powerful blender
I have wanted one of these blenders for about a year for its beauty. The pitcher is nice enough to serve from and pours well from the spout, rather than leaking or dripping like most conventional blenders. The motor crushes ice well for frozen drinks, so blending is very easy.If you have been looking for a powerful blender that looks nice on the counter, the Attezzi is it!Amazon's price (mine was $174 - free shipping) can't be beat. ... Blend tropical delights, purée fruit, grate hard cheese, grind spices, whip cream, and crush ice with Cuisinart's Smart Power bar blender. Attached to a heavy-duty motor base with rubberized no-skid feet, the glass jar holds up to 40 ounces. The tightly fitting cover includes a 2-ounce measured pour lid, which is great for taste testing and can be removed for ventilation when blending hot items. The blade should be soaked in warm water and then hand washed; the glass jar is dishwasher-safe. --Madeleine Miller ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Blender
This is a great Blender. I have read reviews here that state that they were dissapointed that it was plastic. If it would have came with true chrome metal it would have became discolored in no time due to the fact that it gets wet so much. This is a great blender, it crushed ice very well, and it doesn't bog down when I blend thick things such as shakes, etc. . . I am very satisfied with this blender, and will consider Cuisinart items in the future.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Blend Ever!
Says alot from me: I make ice cube based smoothies at least twice a day, and have for over 20 years. Excellent wide-mouth jar, great powerfull engine, easy to use controls.

Minor annoyances: Make irritating noise if jar base is dragged over smooth counter-top surface. Jar base fills with water in the dishwasher.

Great value and nice looking. Easy to clean. So far, durable (3 months).

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Blender I've Ever Owned, and that says a lot!
I eat at least 2 blender smoothies a day, and have for the last 20+
years, so I've given several blenders a work-out! Hamilton-Beach, Krups, Waring...

Anyway, this Cuisinart has several key features: WIDE jar- excellent for access; powerful motor that rips through ice; sealed, seamless control panel surface and wide molded base make clean-up easy.

Minor annoyances: jar skirt makes really annoying noise if dragged over smooth, hard surface; jar skirt catches about a cup of water when inverted in dishwasher.

A definite quality value buy! My Waring Pro Bar Blender accumulates dust in closet now!

2-0 out of 5 stars Looked Higher Quality Than it Was
I ordered this Cuisinart blender, but was disappointed. I expected from the look and "chrome" finish that it would be more solid. Instead the base was flimsy plastic and the glass blender carafe seemed to make it top heavy and potentially unstable. I expected higher quality from Cuisinart, but maybe should have been tipped off by the low price...

2-0 out of 5 stars So far, so good
I just got this blender and it works much better than the Osterizer that I replaced. I mostly use it for smoothies and it works great, no need to stir by hand or push the ice down, just put in the ingredients and let it rip. Consumer Reports rates this blender highly (the highest of any with touch pad controls). I just found the other reviews about reliability, I'm hoping for better luck. (Oops, it quit working after 2 months) ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

This compact two-in-one BlenderChef may be a life-changing appliance, as both a blender and a food processor fit alternately onto the base of this powerful, 400-watt machine. The wide-mouth glass blender jar holds 40 ounces and comes with an excellent SureRest base that keeps it from tipping over on the countertop. The blender has 12 speeds (from "stir" at the low end all the way up to "liquefy"), including a great "icebreaker/pulse" button--stubborn ice cubes beware! (Check the enclosed booklet for tips on ice crushing, because even a champion blender requires some human assistance.) After you've whipped up a slushy drink or puréed carrot soup to a perfect smoothness, it's easy to switch over to the processor attachment (which snaps just as easily in place as the blender), feed a few vegetables through the chute, and have beautiful fixings for salad or stir-fry in minutes. The work bowl for the food processor has a 3-cup capacity with a special feed tube in the lid for adding oil or other liquids without muss or fuss. Included are an S-shaped blade for chopping and mixing and a reversible disc blade for either shredding or slicing. The base of the machine wipes down easily; though hand washing is recommended for the blades, the glass jar and plastic processor pieces are dishwasher-safe. --Erin Brown ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great value for the price
Although there are more powerful, larger capacity food processors and more expensive blenders, this appliance is a powerful little unit when properly used. And it takes up little space on the kitchen counter, making it convenient as well. I have another blender and a cuisanart, but hate dragging them out. I wouldn't ask this machine to do the same jobs, but I have now sliced carrots, shredded hard cheese, chopped cilantro and made dip in the food processor with excellent results. My son has used the blender for his protein and fruit drinks almost daily and is pleased with the crushed ice function. Directions say "use liquid" and the results are very good.

As for the food processor flying off, this only happened when I forgot to lock the unit into place...The unit does not replace a cuisanart, but does serve well as a everyday unit for smaller jobs. It makes an excellent first appliance when money and space are a premium!

2-0 out of 5 stars Use your money for two separate machines
This was a really bad purchase on my part... I thought I would be killing two birds with one stone, but the fact of the matter is, I only cripped one bird, while slightly injuring another...
The best thing about this blender/processor is how easy it is to clean the blender attachment and the thickness of the glass...
The worst thing? Where do I start? If you're looking for a machine that can crush ice, then pick something else. Whenever I tried to crush ice, the melting of the cubes in the blender causes any bits of ice that do get crushed to end up stuck to the sides of the blender, towards the bottom near the blades...
Also, this machine is obscenely loud, I never use it late at night in fear that neighbors will complain...
Hmm, what else? I consider the s-shaped blade for the food processor attachment to be a big embarrassment to the designers/engineers at Hamilton Beach... It is limited in its chopping ability but unlimited in its ability to push all the food you put in the bowl to the sides while chopping nothing... great work guys...
the disk is so so but I've worked with better. Seriously this blender/processor is definitely not worth purchasing. Save up a little extra cash and buy yourself a separate blender and food processor.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Space Saver!
This is great for anyone, because it works well, but I'll get to that in a minute.

This is the best value for anyone with a small apartment/condo without much kitchen space. The more appliances you have, the less space you have. This is the perfect solution. One blender base that can swap tops for a blender or a food processor.

The blender has a good, strong motor, and chops through about anything I've thrown at it, and the food processor seems to work great (though I don't use it too often.) It also has a little extra safety attched. There is a "safety button" under the lid that will not allow the processor to operate if the lid is not on tightly.

That said, I might use the food processor more often if it actually had multiple blade attachments. There is only one, so you can puree or make things like salsa or guacamole(my favorite) but you can't slice your apples or tomatoes, because there is no slicing attachment.

*********

Final thoughts:

This is a great buy for anyone looking for a blender AND a food processor, especially if you have a small kitchen. BUT if you need a robust food processor, buy a cheaper blender and get a separate food processor that has more attachments.

3-0 out of 5 stars Works well enough, but beware of plastic
I got this blender as a Bridal shower gift, and it was wonderful for a while. The blender itself works fine most of the time, but I did find that it made odd noises. After a while the plastic on the base cracked, just a bit, but then it cracked more and more to the point that there's only a tiny space now that isn't cracked. this creates quite a problem since it causes the entire blender to tip, meaning that the pieces that need to connect in order for the blade to turn cannot connect. Hence, I have a broken blender all because of cheap plastic. My advice is to spend a little more money and get something that isn't so cheaply made.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
I have had this blender/food processor for almost three years and have yet to be disappointed. It is a wonderful product, and their customer service is fantastic! Twice I have had problems, and twice they have replaced broken parts - even after nearly three years. I highly recommend both the product and the company. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars the best ice shaver i've had!!
in the past i have bought many ice shavers in attempt at making snow cones. i went through about 5 (most were not electric, none of those work at all, don't get them even though they are cheaper) before finding this really great one. It is extremely fast, easy to clean, safe, and easy to use. A good recipe is to make a bowl of the ice and mix in some powdered drink mix; It doesn't water it down or melt it like regular juice and it is inexpensive. I would recomend this product to anyone looking for a well-working snow maker. it deserves way more then 5 stars!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun for all ages
I bought the Hawaiice Electric Snow Maker for my husband's 11 year old niece for Christmas 2003. It was a huge hit. On every family get together since then, she wants to make ice treats for us. It turned out to be a gift that remains interesting and fun. The machine is well built and the blade is protected so little hands are safe...it does need supervision...I wouldn't let a child clean it...just operate it and make the treats.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hawaiice Electric Snow Maker a Must
This gadget in my kitchen gets used more than anything else - even the coffee maker! My husband and our two boys now drink cans of soda as slushies. Be sure to have an automatic ice maker - each glass will use four to five icecubes at a time. It gets a four star because the ice does spray a bit when it shaves and may miss the glass if the child hasn't positioned it accurately enough.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Quality Ice Shaver
This gadget is a must have during the summer. Especially if you have kids. Easy to use. Easy to clean. And packed full of enjoyment. I use mine everyday!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Kid Friendly Operation!!
This has been a great addition to our appliances! The kids can easily use it to help themselves to a no cholesterol treat after school or playing outside on a hot day. The flavor packets are easy to mix and are just as good as the local stand! ... Read more

This is a really good blender for the price. You can make smoothies, margaritas and daquaris. I really like this blender. It is easy to clean. Amazon.com Review

The grandson of the legendary German automobile designer, F.A.Porsche has achieved an international design reputation of his own, beginning first with the Porsche 911 and then moving onto myriad otherproducts, such as this classy blender. Synthesizing form and functionand utilizing advanced materials are Porsche's hallmarks, and they areimmediately evident in this blender's timeless beauty. Thedouble-tapered cylinder is clad in brushed aluminum, with dark-purple plastictrim. The rugged, dishwasher-safe polycarbonate container istranslucent green, and its tall spout (calibrated in metric, up to 1.5liters, or 51 ounces) protrudes slightly, adding a third externalcolor.

The blender is loaded with features. It has a powerful 450-watt motorcontrolled by a press-and-pop-out dial that fits flush to the exteriorwhen not in use and offers pulse, automatic pulse, and variable-speedsettings for precise blending. Stainless-steel blades are permanentlyattached to the container's bottom and are cleverly angled for fast icecrushing and fine chopping. Due to the upward and outward taper, thecontainer has an exceptionally wide mouth. A pushbutton on the handleopens the lid, which, for safety, must be locked in place for theblender to operate. A locking cap twists out for adding ingredientsduring operation. Wraparound cord storage in the base reduces clutter. The blender stands 13 inches high on a 6-1/2-inch-diameter base and hasrubber feet to protect counter surfaces. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A BEAUTY OF A BLENDER
This is a real beauty of a blender with its sleek, cutting edge design by Porsche. Its streamlined shape and brushed aluminum exterior reduce other blenders to over-the-hill divas.

However, the familiar saw, "looks aren't everything" aptly applies to this Bosch product because it's not only handsome but powerful and reliable. It crushes ice before you can reach for the glasses, and purees in a wink.

Stainless steel blades afford fine and uniform chopping (superb for salsa), and the 6-cup capacity is generous yet convenient. It comes equipped with a 450 watt motor and a full one-year warranty. We like the cord can be wound up and disappear beneath the base, and the nifty control buttons that pop out with a push and retract with a gentle fingertip nudge.
Yes, a Bosch blender is an investment but a wise one for not only gourmet cooks but also for those who appreciate quality and serviceability, as it is unique in both design and performance.

- Gail Cooke

4-0 out of 5 stars Powerful and beautiful too!
I purchased this blender for my husband, along with the coffee maker, because I thought he'd appreciate the Porsche design and he does. We actually needed a new blender, so I didn't just buy the Bosch for its looks. This blender does a fine job of crushing ice for margaritas. The dark purple pouring spout looks a little bluish, but the brushed stainless truly stays free of fingerprints (unlike my larger stainless appliances). If you want a powerful motor and you really appreciate the look of this blender, then its worth the money.

3-0 out of 5 stars I own it - but Question its pricing!!
This is a beautiful product in every way, The price is a problem. Just surf Europe and Asia and it averages about 200.00 USD Converted. Why is Bosch charging us in the US 100.00 to 150.00 more? It sours the whole experience! Elsewhere it is distributed BY Siemens. ... Read more
