4-0 out of 5 stars Good mini muffin pan
This is a great mini-muffin pan. However the only problem I have is there is a rim around each individiual muffin area and food an easily get in the crease. This is a pain in cleaning. It does a great job cooking. I only wish there was no seam for food particles to get into.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Social Functions!!!
Ok, this is Calphalon quality, so of course even cooking and nonsticking!!!

Also this is a great size for social gatherings like...
Church functions, Ladies tea or Bible study snacks, KIDS school and birthday parties.

Perfect Size...not quite bitesize but not full size!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Calphalon Commercial Bakeware 24-Cup Muffin Pan - Great!
The Calphalon Commercial Nonstick Bakeware collection is excellent. I recommend them without reservation. I really like this 24 cup muffin pan. I also have one 12 cup pan and two 6 cup Calphalon Commercial Nonstick muffin pans. The 24 cup pan is a perfect size for tea cupcakes. It is nice to have a variety of sizes, depending on the size of the recipe you can make 24 mini and 6 - 12 regular size cupcakes. Frost or decorate them differently and your guests with think you spent all day slaving over your desserts. This mini size is also nice for holidays when you may be making a variety of desserts, after you put out your pies etc. decorate the buffet table by placing mini cupcakes around the pies. The nonstick finish on this pan is excellent, however I always use muffin cups. Not because you have to, I just think it is easier and looks nicer.

One note: you may want to check on your cup cakes / muffins a couple of minutes early. I have noticed that cakes are done a little quicker in pans with a dark finish. Many newer recipes will indicate the timing for dark finish bakeware. These pans are also a breeze to clean, just a little soap and water and you are done. Wonderful Pans! Highly recommended!

Also, read the Calphalon brochure in the box, if you plan to nest this pan with others make sure to put a paper towel between them to prevent any damage to the nonstick coating. And, this pan is not dishwasher safe.

I wouldn't even trade it for an All Clad bake pan, all my cookware is All Clad and I love it but nothing beats high quality, heavy duty Nonstick bakeware!

5-0 out of 5 stars Same high quality as all the Caphelon bakeware!
This is yet another offering from Caphelon in their bakeware line. I love this line of bakeware. The pan is heavy and the non-stick surface works well as it should. I sing only praises for this pan and others in this bakeware line.

This is obviously not a must-have for the pantry, but if you are a parent you may find special uses for this with your children. The mini-muffin pan can be used for muffins or cupcakes. Offering children these small cupcakes is a way to offer a complete cupcake without the larger size of a normal cupcake. I'd rather bake great cupcakes from scratch than buying these same sized small ones that are always in the grocery store which are laden with preservatives and chemicals. This small size is great for limiting portions for both adults and children, especially with cupcakes! (I serve the very healthy muffins in the larger size in hope that my children will consume the larger portion.) I have found my children are not receptive to being offered half of a normal sized cupcake so I can use this pan to make smaller sized cupcakes instead. A fun idea to do with the kids is to first put a white colored frosting on the top, then have the children decorate the tops with colored gel frosting, sprinkles or colored sugar however they like. This is a fun activity for holiday parties such as Easter egg hunts or birthday parties. It is easy and fun to make the activity and the food item tied into one rather than have a game or some separate game for me to organize and execute! Serving one cupcake per child for a child's birthday party is a fun alternative to serving an entire cake. (You can save the big cake for the family party instead. In our family I do a separate party for child-friends and family for crowd control purposes.) ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Muffin lovers have reason to rejoice with this Calphalon Commercial 12-cup muffin pan, which produces evenly browned, perfectly formed muffins every time. The pan's two-tone design features a medium grey interior to protect against over-browning and a silver grey exterior that ensures efficient heat distribution. The pan offers a specially formulated nonstick surface, meaning you won't have to watch your muffins crumble as you pry them out with a butter knife. The nonstick formula also guarantees effortless cleanup. Calphalon commercial cookware is constructed of heavy-gauge metal that's engineered to last, so it won't warp or twist over time. If durability is important to you, this pan fits the bill. Calphalon recommends that you put a towel between this muffin pan and other pans when storing to protect the nonstick surface. --Rivers Janssen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Calphalon 12 Cup Muffin Pan - Excellent!
The Calphalon Commercial Nonstick Bakeware collection is excellent. I recommend them without reservation. I really like the 6 and 12 cup muffin pans. I have one 12 cup pan and two 6 cup pans. Sometimes it is nice to have a 6 cup for small batches of blueberry or corn muffins, so rather than buying two 12 and one 6, I think it makes more sense to have one 12 and two 6. If you are making a traditional cake mix it is just the right amount for 24 regular size cup cakes. Occasionally, my husband prefers cup cakes to a regular size cake, no crumbs or cutting and cup cakes are easy to take with you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Baking Enthusiast
This commercial grade muffin pan is far superior to lighter weight non-stick pans. Its superior heat conductivity insures even baking and perfect browning of your muffins with less chance of burning. Needless to say your muffins pop out of the pan (even those with fruit which often stick) without a hitch and clean up is fast and easy. I bake several dozen muffins a week and the consistent results produced by this pan makes it worth every penny. So if you bake muffins frequently and want the convenience and performance of a commercial grade product, this Calphalon pan is highly recommended. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars I sold them at my garage sale.
Unfortunately, if you have an older gas oven like we do, the temperature of your oven may actually be higher than the temperature at which you set it on the dial. This led to problems determining a safe temperature in which to use the trays. We were all hesitant to eat the muffins I'd made because of the chemical/plastic smell. I'm back to using foil muffin cups on a cookie sheet.

5-0 out of 5 stars Muffins comes right out
I used metal muffin pans before, the muffins will never come out without the help of a knife, even the pan was sprayed.
On the other side, I am very satisfied with the Kitchenaid product, becuase beautiful muffins come right out, when turn the pan unside down (need to apply cooking spray before baking).
Yes, it did have some plastic smell during baking for the first couple times. After that, no smell at all.

I chose not to pay $5 extra for the rack, still it works well with a cookie tray.

The only negative comment is the unerasble marks left by grease(oil/cooking spray) on the surface. I am not complaining about it, as it states clearly in the instructions, and it does not affect baking.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this product, and I will buy more for my new kitchen.

4-0 out of 5 stars No Problem
When I saw some of the low reviews given here, I nearly decided not to buy this. However, two of my friends did buy these and recommended them to me. I was hoping the silicone muffin pans would be an improvement over the metal pans, which have been difficult to clean, difficult to remove the muffins, and after a short time flake so that my muffins have little metal flecks on them.

I bought a pan today, and my 13-year-old daughter used the pan right away. We noticed only a slight odor from the pan while the muffins were cooking. The muffins came out cleanly with only a slight push from the bottom of the pan. The muffins were cooked evenly and cleaning the pan was a breeze. I plan to buy more pans.

The only reason I am giving this four stars instead of five is because it is necessary to use a cookie sheet or a "sled" under the pan.

1-0 out of 5 stars What a rip-off, don't buy any Kitchenaid Silicone Bakeware!!
My muffin pan just arrived today. It being lunchtime and havingsome spare time, I decided to whip up a batch of banana nut muffins. I filled the cups, put it on a cookie sheet (for stability) and popped it in the oven @ 400 degrees for 18 minutes. They looked great when I took them from the oven. Then every one of them were destroyed as I tried to take them out of the pan. I twisted and turned and not one popped out. I finally had to take a butter knife and literally scrape them out. Not one came out whole. I was p_____ed! So I called the Kitchenaid Customer Satisfaction Center to ask what I did wrong and was told that I should have sprayed the pan with PAM or equivelant non-stick spray. To this I replied that it doesn't say that on the package instructions. The young lady with whom I was speaking told me that I must have an older package, that all new packaging for all of their silicone bakeware instructs you to spray it with a non-stick coating. H___, I can do that with my metal pans. What do I need her 6 times more expensive product for? She couldn't answer that question and advised me to return the product to where ever I purchased it for a refund. So you be the judge on what these products will do for you and at what cost. I did and Iwon't buy Kitchenaid Silicone bakeware anymore!

5-0 out of 5 stars Sassy red muffin pan
This muffin pan is dreamy. Muffins always turn out perfect, and cleanup is a breeze. I haven't noticed the burning plastic smell that other reviewers mentioned. If used properly, the pan works well. I want to get another one because I usually bake a lot of muffins at once. ... Read more

One look at this rubbery bakeware and those uninformed about silicone will laugh at the possibility that it’s actually safe to bake in it. But safe it is and KitchenAid is just one of many bakeware manufacturers that is producing pans in this revolutionary material. Made of FDA-approved food-grade silicone, this muffin pan bakes 12 sweet potato-nut muffins just as evenly as your metal pans and at temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, this silicone pan has the benefit of being safe for the refrigerator, freezer, and microwave and can withstand sudden temperature changes from one extreme to another without buckling. The nonstick surface releases muffins easily and is safe for use with metal utensils aside from knives or serrated blades. This muffin pan rests in a nonstick metal wire sled with handles, which offers good stability for transferring baked goods in and out of the oven. For easy cleanup, this pan is dishwasher-safe and will retain its nonstick cooking surface through hundreds of dishwasher cycles. The metal sled should be washed by hand. 3-0 out of 5 stars Stinky and Sticky
When I first saw this product I was excited by the fact that I wouldn't have to use muffin liners anymore. I must admit that I have only used this pan once, but from an experienced muffin maker (I bake muffins 2-3 times/wk for my children) I don't expect this pan to get much better. Yes, as many have said in other reviews, there is a strong odor from the silicone when it is baking. Hopefully it will go away after repeated uses. The biggest complaint I have is that the muffins stuck terribly to the pan while they were warm. I sprayed with oil before baking but they did not release easily as one would expect from a silicone product (my silicone baking sheet does). Once the pan and muffins cooled they released much more easily. But my family likes to eat them when they're warm, so I'm going back to muffin liners. If you don't mind room temperature muffins, then this pan is ok. I guess they'd be good for cupcakes since they'reserved room temp. Clean up wasn't easy. I had to soak the pan before the baked on crust would wash off. I'll stick (excuse the pun) to traditional non-stick bakeware for now. ... Read more

This pan is excellent for big, moist breakfast muffins that will take you through to lunch. Measuring 3-3/4 inches in diameter and just a smidgen less than 2 inches deep, the cups can also be lined with parchment to serve as ramekins for little cakes and puddings. Its sturdy aluminized steel is of a professional quality and exceptionally durable, good for years of Sunday morning muffin baking, and the large size helps keeps muffins moist. As with all Silverstone coated pans, you'll probably need to set the cooking temperature 25 degrees lower than a recipe calls for, because the pan's dark color absorbs heat--you might also want to check baked goods a few minutes earlier than the recipe suggests. --Shannon Borg ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Get giant store bought-type muffins at home!
After wanting a jumbo muffin pan for years, I finally received one as a wedding shower gift, and I love it! You can use this pan with standard muffin recipes that make a dozen small muffins; you'll just get six large muffins instead. With a bit longer cooking time than for smaller muffins, this muffin pan cooked my jumbo muffins to perfection: golden brown and evenly cooked throughout. Plus, it was completely non-stick, so getting the muffins out of the pan--even sticky blueberry-packed ones--wasn't a problem, and clean up was a breeze. A highly recommended item!

5-0 out of 5 stars Ever wanted to make restaurant muffins at home?
This is the product for you! Right after I got it, I couldn't wait to try it, so I ran to the store and bought muffin mix. I used two regular-sized boxes of apple cinnamon muffin mix and got six large muffins with nice domed tops. It took about twice as long for the muffins to bake but they were delicious. Since then I have used this probably every other week for bran muffins, oat bran muffins, etc. It's great if you have overnight guests, in the morning you can serve them freshly-baked restaurant-sized muffins and it's pretty impressive. I highly recommend this item!

Amazon.com Review

KitchenAid provides a one-year hassle-free replacement warranty plus a lifetime limited warranty on this pan. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I too have problems with my muffins releasing. But even more troubling, there was a strong odor of "burnt rubber" and when I opened the oven door to take the muffins out, a big cloud of smoke came out of the oven. I called KitchenAid customer service and they said they had not heard that complaint before, but I cannot believe that I am the only one who has had this issue. I do not recommend this bakeware--I went out and bought the Calphalon metal pan to replace and my muffins come out perfectly now!

5-0 out of 5 stars Delicious honey muffins
I have used this only once and it outperformed my standard metal muffin pans. This was tested by creating a batch of honey muffin batter, oiling two metal pans and this silicone pan, filling them each with the batter. After visually inspecting and taste testing the muffins, the dozen baked in the silicone pan were far better in appearance and taste than their metal counterparts. I will gladly amend this review should it not perform equally well with a cake batter.

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Pan - Does not do what it claims.
I totally agree with the previous reviewer. This pan is terrible. I also ended up with only tops. I suppose you could put paper muffin cups in, but what would be the point of buying this pan then??? Also, these do not nest like a regular metal pan (the sled takes up a lot of room). DO NOT BUY THIS!

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
First of all I gave it one star because it would not let me continue if I put nothing. It deserves no stars. I purchased this item after seeing similar ones on the Today show a while back. This product was nothing like what I saw. I baked some cupcakes and could tell right away they were not going to pop right out. They were entirely stuck in the pan and you can't really pry them out because you will damage the pan. So I ended up with a dozen cup cake tops (I am not kidding). I called the 800 number which was a joke. One lady told my to grease the muffin pan. Then why purchase this? You can do that with a $5.00 muffin pan at Walmart. And another lady told me that they had had problems with them and that they weren't KitchenAid products, they only put their name on them. She suggested I return it. I returned it to Amazon and received a full refund.
Don't waste your money as these are very expensive. Buy a cheap one and continue to use the muffin papers or buy a regular nonstick one and spray lightly with Pam. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars jumbo size disappointment
Warning: everything I bake in these has a weird taste because of the silicone - not a plastic taste, but kinda perfumey. It's disgusting.Giant paper muffin cups might help, but I'm buying new metal pans.If you care about taste, stay away from these!

5-0 out of 5 stars engineer, not a baker
I bought one of these muffin pans because I was excited at the prospect of owning a piece of bakeware whose lining wasn't destroyed by the 3rd time I wanted to use it. For that alone, I would give this item 5 stars.

I am not an experienced baker, but I think that after reading the other review for this item that more balanced comments need to be stated regarding the actual use of this muffin pan.

So here are my comments:

1. You need to use a cookie sheet (or something similar) to support the pan since it is flexible.

2. The muffins cook faster than with a metal pan.

3. The muffins seem small if you fill the cups as you would with a metal muffin pan - you can actually fill them up all the way. (Recall that I am not an experienced baker; as an engineer I suspect that since the muffins cook differently, i.e. faster, this could be compensated by adjusting the batter in some manner. As far I'm concerned as long as the muffins taste good, it doesn't matter to me.)

4. The coating is not exactly non-stick. You do not need to grease the pan, but you do need to be careful when it comes time to remove the muffins. I use the dull side of table knife to separate the muffin sides from the pan (while gently pulling the pan). After doing that I put a plate on top of the muffin pan andhold it against the pan as I invert the pan. All I have to do then is tap the bottoms of the muffin cups to get them out. By my third time doing this I was able to get them all out intact and unscathed.

I am very happy with my muffin pan - it might take a little bit of getting used to for someone used to other pans - but for me, the benefit of not having a cheap non-stick coating peeling off of the metal after a year more than compensates for a slight learning curve on the use.

2-0 out of 5 stars Silly-con!
I got this as a Christmas present. I have wanted one for a while as I loved the idea of a non-stick, easy to wash, easy to store muffin pan. It's not very non-stick. My first batch of muffins stuck horrendously and I was very disappointed. Looks like I'll have to use nonstick spray to make this one nonstick. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Serve your guests perfectly golden, high-crowned popovers right from the oven, courtesy of this sturdy Chicago Metallic popover pan. Made of heavyweight metal that's guaranteed not to warp or buckle under high heat, the pan features six individual popover cups--each holding about 2/3 of a cup of batter--fastened together with narrow metal bars. The cups are spaced far enough apart that the popovers won't touch, which means heat can circulate freely around them, ensuring fast, even cooking--your popovers puff up light and airy every time. The nonstick SilverStone coating ensures easy removal of baked goods, and cleanup is trouble-free: just place the pan in the dishwasher or wipe clean with a nylon sponge and gentle detergent. Comes with a suggested recipe. --Marianne Painter ... Read more
