    Amazon.com Review

Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse kicks it up another notch with this stainless-steel cookware collection, following the success of his nonstick collection. Bam! This 10-piece set is a lustrous example of the stainless-steel collection, which is made by renowned cookware manufacturer All-Clad. Pots and pans are heavy-gauge, 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish outside and blessed with a satin finish inside to conceal utensil marks. To distribute heat uniformly and maintain it, there are thick aluminum disks on the bottoms covered in stainless steel so the cookware works on any stovetop, including induction. For elegance, the disks' edges are clad in copper.

The set consists of a 2-quart saucepan with lid; a deep, 3-quart casserole pan with lid; a 3-quart sauté pan with lid that's also perfect for braising; a 6-quart stockpot with lid; and 8-inch and 10-inch fry pans. The pot and pans display Emeril's signature on their cast-stainless-steel handles, which are riveted for strength, have thumb rests, stay cool on the stovetop, and won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat. The pot and pans' lips flare to facilitate dripless pouring. Made of tempered glass, lids allow cooking to be monitored without releasing heat. Stainless-steel bands around their edges prevent chipping and ensure a tight fit. Although Emerilware Stainless cookware is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. It carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

5-0 out of 5 stars reasonable priced quality product
I don't normally purchase items that are endorced by celebrities. They are usually lower in quality in order to keep the price down. However, this cookware set is a quality product. Good weight, flat cooking surface and heats evenly. I like the glass lids, although I understand they are cheaper to manufacture. For the price you can't beat the quality and the All-Clad name. I researched other brands and I would recomend this product. By the way, a tip from my lovely wife, insert the corks from your wine bottles or champagne (for the larger ones) into the handles of the glass lids. It makes them easier (cooler) to work with.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great deal for the money
The Emerilware Stainless is great cookware for the price. I really wish people would understand that pots and pans that are NOT non-stick can not be treated as if they were nonstick.

First of all, you must preheat the pans and use some type of oil, fat, etc.

Second, do not overheat these pans. A little over "medium" is about all you need unless you're just boiling water. Anything hotter than that will often cause the metal to look blueish until it is properly cleaned. This is true of all stainless cookware I've used.

Also, the copper on the pot will tarnish because, IT IS COPPER. That's going to happen. So if you want the cookware to look nice and pretty then don't use them. If you actually plan to cook, this is some decent cookware at a decent price. (BTW, the copper cleans easily with Bar Keeper's Friend, or a common household solution such as lemon juice and salt).

That said, I prefer All-Clad. (I plan on becoming a chef, and I'm insistent on having the best)

3-0 out of 5 stars In response to "Scientific observation..."
For what it's worth, we had an aluminum pot that completely melted when the water boiled out (although we never thought to sue...sheesh!). It's entirely possible, and something I keep in mind to this day when dealing with aluminum on the stove. The melting point of various metals changes dramatically when alloyed with other metals. It's not a stretch to assume that an alloy is used by All-Clad, and that the alloy has a low melting point.

Just thought I'd add more information to the issue...

3-0 out of 5 stars Scientific observation - I Don't own the Pots (yet?)
(DISREGARD RATING ABOVE) I was researching All-Clad, Calphalon, etc., and read the review below alleging the "melted" Emerilware. Even went to the website and looked at the pics. This guy has GOT to be full of it. For the curious, the melting temperature of Aluminum (Al) is 660C, or 1,220 deg F (in case you forgot, water boils at 212F). Unless he was cooking on a plasma torch, there's NO WAY THE Al IN THE POT MELTED. Only possible guess(giving the LARGE benefit of the doubt) is someone at the factory filled the pot with Tin (SN) instead, which has a melt temp of 231C/449F (which you could 'potentially' hit on a stove) . Unless, of course, he's just cruising for an easy lawsuit.... Thought y'all should know...

5-0 out of 5 stars If you have a clue on how to cook or the value of things...
You'll like this set. You'll notice all the negitive reviews of this set are from people expecting cookware costing three or four times what you'll pay for this set or from people who can't cook. This set is well made, cooks well and is a bargin. You won't be sorry you bought it....unless your expecting something for nothing or cookware that cooks for you. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I listened to all the other reviewers!
I needed new pots and pans, so I started looking around and everyone I knew was getting or already had Calphalon. I came on Amazon to figure out what kind of Calphalon to buy....like the professional or the cheap kind like at Target. After reading the reviews, I decided to give the Emerilware a try since everyone raved about them. If you notice the Emerilware reviewers have given it five stars! And now, it's been three months that I've been using my Emerilware and I just wanted to thank the other reviewers for pointing me in the right direction! I love this cookware. This is truely a sturdy, quality product and my cooking even tastes better. You can't put these in the dishwaher, but you don't need to...one little wipe with the sponge cleans them right up! So for all you brides out there or people like me who've worn out their pots....don't take the easy way out and get what everyone else has.......get the Emerilware!

5-0 out of 5 stars Emeril hits a home run!
Emerilware by All-Clad has a sturdiness to it that shouts quality the first time you pick it up.
*The heavyweight thickness of the aluminum retains heat well and distributes heat flawlessly so there are no hot or cool spots.
*The quality of the multilayer nonstick material is comparable to Calphalon Commercial Nonstick, which is very, very similar although perhaps a little lighter in weight.
*The price for this set on Amazon can't be beat! It's priced the same here as the substandard lines of cookware available at [local store]!
*Lifetime warranty by a quality company means you can buy with confidence.
*Stay-cool, sturdy metal handles can go into the oven and have a handy and comfortable notch for your thumb.
*The combination of matte grey anodized aluminum bottoms and stainless lids and handles make a stunning design statement for your kitchen.

Folks concerned about the heavyness of the Emeril pans should check them out in the store, and compare to the Calphalon Commercial products, which also carry a lifetime warranty and have excellent cooking characteristics.

This particular set would be an excellent starter for a couple. Families and entertainers will need to add at a minimum a 12-inch frypan and an 8-quart stockpot, also available here at Amazon.

    Enjoy!

2-0 out of 5 stars Unimpressed
On initial purchase of my Emeril skilliet, I was quite pleased with the significant mass of the skillet, its' handsome looks, how evenly it gained temprature, and yes, how well the nonstick surface released. Though the skillet was never touched with a metal implement, never in a dishwasher, always allowed to cool naturally ( meaning not immersed in water right from the stove ), after only 4 months of use is sticks badly! Considering the care it received, I can only assume that this may be the result of abrasions caused by spices or the one i received was a lemon. I am clueless, but know in either case I am unimpressed and the product has miserably failed to meet my expectations for what I expected from this caliber of product. Hence, why I am here today shpping for new skillets. I read many good reviews here, and I wish all the best of luck. Maybe if you don't use them as frequently as I do, you will have years of service. I however, wont purchase another.

4-0 out of 5 stars PERFECT PANS, LOUSY LIDS
I purchased this set and am very satisfied with the pans themselves. They cook evenly, do not stick and clean easily. My complaint is that the stainless lid handle becomes so hot that a pot holder is required to remove them. I certainly did not expect this problem from a set of this 'quality'.

3-0 out of 5 stars Lagasse Let Me Down
I purchased this cookware set as a Christmas gift to myself in 2002. I was initially very pleased and enjoyed the durability and ease with which items could be cooked. But now after a year and a half I'm very disappointed in the skillets. They are hard to clean and even with a good cleaning food is sticking to the nonstick surface. I would expect this from a lower quality product from a warehouse store but these carrry Emeril's name. Also, I watch, "Emeril Live" frequently and he doesn't appear to be using this cookware set as much as his stainless. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A bit unwieldy, but a solidly made skillet..
This is a large, heavy, solid nonstick pan, and there are pros and cons that go along with those characteristics.

Although it's sometimes nice to have such a big pan (the pan is 12 inches across the top, but only about 8 or 9 inches across the bottom), I wish it were an inch narrower on the top since I have a relatively small stove. The pan is so wide that the only other pan that will fit on the back burner behind the skillet is a 1 or 2 quart saucepan, but not anything larger. I didn't think about this before I bought the pan, so I recommend that others get out a ruler before making a final decision.

Also, the pan is quite heavy, which is nice for retaining heat, but for someone who's relatively small (like me) it can be difficult to lift. The heavy weight and single long (rather uncomfortable) handle to one side means that it takes a lot of strength to hold the pan up by one hand while using a spatula to move food from the skillet to a plate.

I can't offer a very confident evaluation of the non-stick surface. It's my first real non-stick pan, and I haven't used metal utensils or put it in the dishwasher, but I like to use high heat to dry-fry zucchini and tofu, which the instructions say not to do unless you're boiling water in it. I find this to be quite limiting, but still I suppose I can't complain that the surface is starting to flake off and the middle of the pan is no longer non-stick after about a year.

I do like that the pan can go in the oven, but unfortunately what I most often want to do is put in under the broiler for a minute, which isn't allowed.

I agree with the other reviewer that says the script "Emeril" on the handle is tacky, and that a lid would be *very* useful.

Overall, if you have a large enough stove and big enough muscles then it's a good pan that heats well and cleans up easily as long as you accept the limitations of nonstick and follow the instructions and only ever use medium heat.

5-0 out of 5 stars An essential in my kitchen
I often cook by starting an item on the stove and finishing in the oven. This pan combines non-stick with a handle that will go in the oven and is a great size for feeding 4 to 6. The non-stick surface has been very robust and performs flawlessly. The clad pan cooks evenly and browns like few other non-stick pans. I have used several commercial aluminum non-stick pans in the past for stove-to-oven, but none of them perform as well as this one. This is now my go-to pan in the 12 inch size and I'd get a 10-inch if I didn't already have an All Clad. My one criticism is that the handle is not quite as comfortable or secure in hand as the All Clad handle, but its a minor flaw, and easily overlooked in a pan about half the price! Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfection
This pan is so easy to clean inside and out. Worth it!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love it!
I love my Emerilware frying pan. It's solid, non-stick and big, so that it makes making eggs a breeze! Cleans up easily and the handle stays cool while cooking, and it has a loop so you can hang it on a rack. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that it says Emeril in script on the bottom of the outside of the pan, so when you hang it, it shows. I also wish I could get a lid for it. But, otherwise it's exceptional and for the price it's really worth it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this pan!!!
This is a really affordable alternative to the All-Clad 12 inch Stainless steel pan. Not only is the quality of the manufacturing up to All-Clad's standards (ie worthy of the All-Clad brand name), it performs extremely well as well. Although the aluminum/copper disk is only on the bottom of the pan (it doesn't come up the sides), it seems to cover all the necessary surface area. The result is a pan that heats extremely evenly, has absolutely no hot spots, and is extremely responsive to heat adjustments. I use this on an old electric stove too, so this is impressive! Cleanup is surprisingly not too bad (I was afraid that food would stick, but a brief dip in hot water seems to do the trick), although to keep the beautiful finish of the pot (and avoid the swirly heat stains common to using stainless steel pots) I would recommend using a stainless steel polish. Makes it look like new.

I've had this pan for several months now, and highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great pan !
My husband and I recently rented a vacation home in Florida. The people had a set of Emerilware pots and pans and I was very impressed with them. I personally have a set of Cuisinart stainless steel cookware which I very much enjoy, but I have to say that I fell in love with the 12" Emeril frying pan. The weight of it, the ease of cleaning, the handle and the overall quality are wonderful. I am thinking of purchasing one even though I don't need any more pans !!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a GREAT pan!
The 8/18 12 inch fry pan by Emeril is outstanding. I bought it to replace a Belgique fry pan that was about 15 years old. The small rivits holding the handle to the pan just popped and I had to throw it away. I went looking for a good replacement and I found it in the Emeril 12 inch pan. This pan more than filled the bill. I have no doubt at all that it is really superior to the Belgique. It cooks more evenly than any frypan I've ever used, and the handle is rock-solid and doesn't get hot. The even cooking is due to the aluminum and copper bottom. The pan also cleans up very easily.

One of the things I like about the Emeril pan is that it has rivits that won't ever break. The pan is made by All-Clad, and is identical to their 12 inch pan, but at less than 1/2 the price. Really, if you are looking for an ideal fry pan, this is the one to get. It looks and feels good, is solid, and cleaning is no problem. It think it will outlast me! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent pan! Use it every day!
I have All Clad pans and Calphalon Commercial and one (so far) Emerilware pan - this 10" saute pan. It is solid anodized aluminum (with a nonstick interior) and it seems to heat more evenly than pans which sandwich aluminum between layers of stainless steel. I like the hefty weight of the pan, but it is well balanced and easy to hold. The handle is very comfortable to hold and remains cool to the touch. The lip of the pan is better than many for pouring, but not excellent, however I am seldom pouring liquids from a saute pan anyway. I will definitely be purchasing more Emerilware!

5-0 out of 5 stars A bargain All-Clad frying pan
I almost didn't buy this frying pan because of a review that is quite misleading, saying something about a "heavy" handle and tipping. The price was so good, though, that I went ahead. I'm glad I did. This is a top-notch All-Clad frying pan. I bought it to replace a similar Calphalon frying pan that the nonstick coating had started to show signs of wear. The handle on this is no heavier than the Calphalon pan or other All-Clad (non-Emerilware) frying pans. For everyday cooking, this is a high-class product without the high-class price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nothing sticks!
I LOVE this pan! I've made everything from jambalaya to omelettes in this pan, and I can attest to the fact that it is the best frying pan I've ever used. Never in my life have I made an omelette without making a mess, but in this pan I can cook like a pro! The omelette flips over & slides right out with NO breakage. Bacon, frozen hashbrowns, pancakes (can you tell I like breakfast?) all cook evenly & quickly. Buy this pan if you want no mess, no fuss food preparation! One thing though: I'm not a big person, and the slim handle combines with the weight of the large pan makes it a little unwieldy. It's worth it though; it's so solid it never slides around the stovetop unless YOU slide it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality
I got this 10" Emerilware pan with a little trepidation since "Famous name" stuff can sometime be of questionable quality. I was presently surprised with the excellent quality of this pan. It is made by All Clad and you can tell right away that they did not skimp on this one. It is a heavy pan with a great handle and balance. It has industrial rivets and is clearly a great value. The non-stick works great as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Emerilware Frypan is a Winner
The Emerilware 8- and 10-inch frypans are great for everyday cooking for items that would "stick" to stainless pans: omelettes, scrambled eggs, browning meats, etc. I especially like the even distribution of heat and the very good heat retention of both these pans.

Other reviewers complained about "tilting" Emerilware frypans---I've NEVER observed this problem with mine. I would suggest such a pan is "defective" and should be returned. Cleanup for the Emerilware is effortless. I nest my pans between cloth dishtowels for storage, to protect them from scratching each other.

I would definitely recommend Emirilware for both performance and extremely good value. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Can a pot be beautiful?
After buying this saucepan, I left it on the stove for several days, just admiring it. With its polished anodized aluminum exterior and mirror-like stainless lid, it is the most beautiful pot I had ever seen. When I finally used it, I was able to make wonderful rice dishes without anything sticking (unlike in the scortched pots my husband has created). Clean-up was heavenly. This is my first piece of Emerilware or All-clad and I adore this pot. I make lots of soups, stews, chili, etc in the Winter months. Living in Minnesota - there's not a lot of other things to do for a couple of months :) My only regret is the lid not being glass and having to lift it off every time to check on the dish. I definately will buy more Emerilware. Seems larger than my other 8 Qt kettles. Definatly no buyers remorse with this purchase! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Too short
This is the smallest Emerilware nonstick Saucepan. As with the other sizes, this piece is well made and cleans easily. I wish it had taller sides and was not as wide. Other than that, no problems.

Then, look no further than Emerilware. You'll have all the benefits of All-Clad at half the price. The non-stick surface is so superior...my dog hardly has much to lick off of the pan!

Easy to clean. Fast to heat-up. No hot spots. These are real finds.

4-0 out of 5 stars About the best non-stick ever
The only reason I've given this pan 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is on the heavy side, not uncommon for high quality pans and not so much that you should not buy it, but it is a consideration if that sort of thing gets to you. In terms of performance, Emerilware pans are tops. After buying our first one, I tossed a half dozen lesser pans and bought more Emerilware. Made by All Clad so you know the quality is there, the nonstick surface is astonishingly good and, so far, very tough. The pans also have a flared lip which makes pouring easy, and since the food just slides out, this is an extra bonus. If you want to start small, try the 8 inch fry pan which is often on sale. You will be back for more. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Pan
I have a complete set of All-Clad LTD that I adore. I bought this pan as an adjunct to it and it is now my favorite pan to use. It is large enough for a whole chicken and is wonderful for stir frying. It is deep enough for sauces and it cleans sooooo easily. I also like the two handles rather than one for lifting. The handles stay surprisingly cool. I would recommend this pan to everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Emerilware Braiser - Great All-Purpose Pan
We've had this super all-purpose pan for about a year and highly recommend it. We use it for stir-fry, cooking scrambled eggs for large groups, black beans and rice, etc.

This pan is excellent for dishes that start with browning meats on top of the stove, adding other ingredients and then baking in the oven. This is a GREAT pan, perfect for taking straight to the table. Beware! The handles do get hot and the pan is fairly heavy.

I always used Revereware and similar, Emerilware was a "step up" for our household. I also bought the Emerilware 8-inch and 10-inch non-stick frypans---the three pans make a great set. We have the Calphalon "Kitchen Essentials" stainless pans set from Target, another great buy but no longer available, for cooking that doesn't require non-stick. I think the combination of a stainless set plus a few non-stick items makes for the best cook's tools. Love the Emerilware and I'm always looking for new pieces that would add to our set. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars For those who love to cook and hate to clean!!
Emerilware nonstick cookware is amazing! I have used this saucepan along with an arsenal of other Emerilware products for the past year and a half and I recommend it to everyone -- from those just beginning to cook, to those "seasoned" chefs! In fact, I just purchased the Emerilware nonstick 10 piece set as a present for my Mother. And, I am currently adding to my own collection.

I can't promise this cookware will make you a better cook, but you will definitely have more FUN cooking! The cookware heats quickly and evenly and the handles stay cool... it looks great... the nonstick material is tough and durable (I've had NO problems with it peeling off in 1.5 years of hard use)... the nonstick layers allow virtually effortless cleaning -- even the worst messes just rinse away with a dab of soap and a sponge, with no scrubbing required!!!

So don't wait -- buy this product NOW! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent piece of cookware
Let me start by saying this is a great price for a piece of Emerilware--I bought it as a "tester" piece to see if I really wanted to spend $400 on the 10-piece set. And after using this small pan for a few weeks, I know I do.

I don't fully agree with the other opinion that states the handle is top heavy, causing the base to lift off the stove (I think that's what was said--sorry if I misphrased). I think it's just a matter of the handle being somewhat longer, which makes it a bit uneven feeling. However, that said, I have had no problems cooking with it. (In about 20 uses, the pan has not tipped over once!!) If you're worried about it, I think you may just want to be careful not to leave the handle of the piece hanging out over the edge of the stove where you might bump it.

One other note: after having used other non-stick cookware and being used to using "Pam" style sprays to cook with, it has been a hard habit to break with the Emerilware pan. It is stated clearly in the instructions that you should NEVER use aerosol sprays because it can gunk up on the pans and is extremely difficult to clean. With these non-stick pans, you really don't need any coating, and when you feel you do, a bit of olive oil or butter works wonders.

I can't wait to get the full set!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great pan, great price
I've been using this pan for nearly a year and love it. The fact that it's non-stick goes without saying. It's the perfect size for a 2-egg omelette. The slope sided design makes hand flipping of saute'd mushrooms, onions, etc. a breeze. The pan and the handle are definately not unbalanced, and the handle is very ergonomic. The hard-anodized aluminum exterior still looks almost new. There is absolutely no sign of wear on the interior. Overall, it has a solid hefty feel that makes it an absolute pleasure to cook with.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love It!
I am so impressed with this skillet! The handle truly stays cool. I plan to buy a whole set.

5-0 out of 5 stars Emerilware 8 " Fry Pan: Good buy / Great quality / Love it!
Emerilware 8" nonstick frypan delivers what it promises. I love the way it fits in your hand and the security of the thumb depression. The weight gives very even heat and gives you the feeling of quality materials. The nonstick surface is durable, cooks accurately and is the easiest cleanup of any I have used. I also have the 10" which I love and I hope to eventually own a whole set.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised for a reasonable price.
Probably the easiest piece of cookware I own. The pan itself evenly, but the handle stays cool longer. Cleanup was a snap - just a regular sponge handled it. And the food just glides right off the pan. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the best
I have used high-quality pans from several manufacturers, but this one is the best of its kind. I was thrilled to find this 3 quart, 10 1/2" saute pan after a long search. Its size is ideal for cooking a recipe for two or three people.
Emerilware is made by All-Clad, known for its high-quality products. Emerilware has some of the good All-Clad design features, but it is superior in both cooking results and design. The pan's heavy aluminum construction - thicker even than other high-end pans - makes for perfectly even heat transfer and quick cooking, even on lower heat, without a lot of fiddling to move contents around in the pan. This trait is important when you want to get an even, crisp crust on the surface of the food, as to do that you need to avoid moving it around in the pan. The Emerilware line's heat transfer is surprisingly MUCH better even than my other non-stick All-Clad pans.
Its design features also offer several advantages over other brands. The pan's slightly curved interior corners make it easy to get the edge of a spoon or wisk (avoid pointy metal implements, of course) into the corners when making a roux or sauce. The non-stick interior is also heavy, smooth, and tough. The domed and lipped lid fits snugly and is the ideal design to make the pan useful for many cooking tasks. The pan's weight makes it very stable, and the rather narrow handle works surprisingly well for the size and weight of this pan. When I first saw this signature All-Clad handle design, I thought the little thumb-rest might be a mere design frill, but it really makes the handle easy to hold and feel more stable in the cook's hand. The sturdy looped helper handle on this mid-sized pan is a generous touch seen more commonly on well-designed larger pans, which can be heavy when full. Though the metal handles are not advertised as stay-cool material, in my experience, the pan handles do stay cool, though the bail handle on the stainless steel lid does eventually heat up. All the Emerilware pot and pan lids (and other All-Clad lines) have large ergonomically-designed bail handles that can be grasped easily even with a pot-holder. An extra nice touch for storage: all the Emerilware lid handles can be slipped easily over the pan handles to hang the two pieces together on one pot hook.
As with all non-stick pans, the instructions advise against putting it in the dishwasher, but hand clean-up is super-easy, inside and out. Emerilware is pricey, but in this product, you do get what you pay for. To borrow some Emeril-isms, "Oh yeah, Babe - it's a beautiful thing!" ... Read more

The 18/10 stainless-steel lid has a gleaming mirror finish and fits tightly on the pan's flared lip, which prevents drips when pouring. The long handle has an indented thumb rest and is rounded for comfort. Both the pan and helper handle are cast of stainless steel, polished, and riveted to the pan for strength. They stay cool on the stovetop and are oven-safe. Emerilware should be hand washed. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars OUTSTANDING
I've had this for a bit over a year. The quality is outstanding. My only complaint is that it's a bit heavy to maneuver with one hand. Fortunately there is another handle opposite the main one, which make the process easier.

5-0 out of 5 stars Workhorse of my kitchen!
This is the most wondrous piece of cookware I have ever owned. It has everything going for it: even heating, large size, long stay-cool handle, dripless pouring, absolutely THE BEST non-stick, super-easy clean-up, attractive appearance. I use this pan so much that I never put it away in a cabinet...it stays out on top of my stove all of the time. No problem, because it is a beauty! Yes, it is heavy, but the helper handle makes it manageable when washing. Because of its heavy, solid construction, I have never burned anything in this pan. This pan was my first Emerilware purchase. Experiencing its virtues caused me to replace my entire collection of pots and pans with Emerilware. I HIGHLY recommend both the nonstick and stainless lines.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great pan with a few exceptions
The Emerilware Nonstick 5-Quart Saute Pan is a pleasure to cook with. The nonstick surface is very durable and requires little to no fat when cooking. It heats up evenly, even on a medium to low heat.

The only downside to the pan is that it is quite heavy. The weight of the pan makes it cumbersome to clean. I have also noticed that the outside of the pan tends to scratch easily, but this does not affect the performance of the pan.

For the price, the Emerilware nonstick pans are a great buy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality all around Pan
From the minute I opened the box, I knew I had a quality pan. This is not only functional, but it looks great! It is actually a pretty pan. It has a good weight to it, a helper handle, and a glass lid which is nice so you aren't always lifting it up and getting steam in your face. I wish I had ordered this pan first, because I wouldn't have ordered any other saute or fry pans. I am very impressed with Emerilware line and will certainly order more. This is the best of the all-clad line. I am hooked on this pan. You can't go wrong for the price, it is cheap for this high level of quality. I was surprised they can sell it at this price, I was pleasantly surprised and will certainly order more in this line.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best pan I have ever owned!
Throughout my married life, I have owned and used non-stick cookware. After expanding my cooking knowledge through good cooking magazines and shows like "Emeril Live!", I came to see that there were some 'holes' in my kitchen supplies. I like to cook many dinners on top of the stove, and so I often sauté meats and make sauces. In order to make the finest-tasting sauce, you need the fond--bits of sautéed meat--that sticks to the bottom of the pan. When you sauté in a non-stick pan, there is no fond. I purchased the Emerilware 3 qt. stainless steel sauté pan after reading about the line. I also trust the All-Clad brand, and respect Emeril Lagasse. After using it several times, I have to say that this is the FINEST pan I have ever owned. It is a thing of beauty, it is heavy-sturdy, it cooks the foods beautifully, and it cleans easily. The handle stays cool during cooking, and the helper handle is a great aid for pouring out the cooked result. I really like the see-through glass lid, as well. I plan to buy more pieces in this line, for it is an excellent cookware investment that will last for many, many years. ... Read more
